Sheipig2006!

This is probably the best summer fragrence if u don't want to be overpowering you are just going to smell fresh and clean super citrus esc and the neroli note is probably the best I've smelt in a fragrance if someone comes in for a hug it's definitely going to impress them it's just so unfortunate this fragrence doesn't project further and last longer

JosephineJose

My perfect spring scent. It's just wonderful, uplifting, neroli-forward (of course) - BUT it has absolutely no longevity. If only it could fix itself to my skin for longer than twenty minutes.

FlowerSeeker

A nice fresh unisex or masculine fragrance. The woods are a bit strong for me. Reminds me of vintage Dial bar soap, or maybe it was Irish Spring bar soap.

EmpressVision

This fragrance taught me to appreciate neroli. I intensely disliked it when I bought this as a blind buy some time ago.☹️ I put it to the side & forgot about it. Then recently out of curiosity, I spritzed a teeny bit on the back of my hand. 🫢...😯...😍. I was pimp slapped with this great citrus scent. However, like many citrus fragrances, there's no longevity. 😢 I layer this with YSL Libre. The two smell heavenly together. 🤩

Henry3K

I love the acqua variation, it suits me better personally. I doesn't last a whole lot but I'm willing to overlook that flaw if I can find it on discounters around $180-$200. I another good alternative is called "Tennis club" by carner Barcelona it has most of the same notes listed.

KerriZ

The lighter NP sibling. Equally as alluring as its predecessor but a gentler push on the notes. Still a fast and seductive drive along Cote D'Azur. Top down. bare shoulders. bright sundress. floppy hat. pedal to the metal. wide smile. An absolute love day or night. I dip into my bottle before bed for a full night of seductive dreams.

hc123

Smells like Acqua Di Gio edp with floral sweetness when it opens then the aquatic fades. Not bad not great, I got a 10ml for free so I'll keep it around for now. Does lean feminine to my nose

L8Apex

If you're a fan of citrus openings, (AdP) Colonia offers a far more congruent and complete expression - whereas the citrus burst of Colonia instantly brings a smile to my face, NPA by brings a borderline-disinterested chemical-laced cringe to my nose, as the bergamot and lemon are quickly and rudely pushed aside by the neroli and orange blossom. Also lacks the grounding in soft wood notes that are so elegantly blended into the AdP.

It's pleasant enough, I suppose (not nearly as cloyingly sweet as LL's Fleur d'Oranger) and the floral heart notes differentiate it enough (again, I suppose), but IMO there are simply too many other better summer fragrances in this category. We relegated this to the guest bathroom downstairs, where at least the frosted glass bottle adds a little to the aesthetics and where it may get some use when guests are visiting during the summer.

As someone who resides in a coastal climate not too dissimilar to the Italian Riviera, this does not, in any way, remind me of the beach... maybe if someday I accidentally step on a bottle in the sand or something I'll develop the association, but until then, that's a negatory, Ghostrider.

GrenadeGirl

If you are a bright citrus fan you will love this, huge bright lemons on opening, the flowers kick in a little later.

It is a lively, fresh blend - Tom Ford blends really are always above and beyond - but this one really doesn't work with my chemistry (think glass cleaner!).

I wouldn't recommend a blind buy at all, but if you like your citrus it is definitely worth a sample.

Pormolu

First sniff gives you a strong Neroli punch which is refreshing but potent. Sadly it fades away as time progresses. An expensive frag with such low performance-not for me.

erika.isme.98

Seems like DS & Durga's new limited edition cologne is going to smell similar to this. Interesting.

alkemi

I love it despite the performance. Less sweet than the OG but still brilliantly fresh. I reach for it often as I prefer light inoffensive scents for work especially in the summer. 4-5h longevity even on clothes. Summer getaway vibes. People say it reminds them of the beach. Despite the faults still too good to refuse.

Rating - 7.5/10 (objectively)

Tom Ford´s Neroli Portofino Acqua smells like jumping into a pool at your airbnb in italy on your summer vacation. It´s great and I´m absolutley obsessed with the smell but the performance... it lacks so much that I just can´t recommend it but the smell is so beautiful 😩

realitygreene

Potent while it lasts. Neroli Portofino Acqua is a strong citrus and fresh scent, but the original Neroli Portofino is superior as its longer lasting and more well-rounded for my tastes. I have a few samples of this that I'm sure I'll get through in my lifetime, but this isn't a favorite by any means.

Hedley Nguyen

It is a lovey scent! Fresh, delicious with citrus, bergamot flower. I love the petit grain at the top note. It truly reminds me about the summer in the tranquil village with my grandmother where she planted a lots of mandarin and orange trees. Sadly, it does not last long in my skin, just about 3 hours.

Jrad655

Close to the original NP but the Aqua doesn't last as long. Still a refreshing Summer scent for the time it lasts. Which on me is only 2 hours. 5 in the high heat. Well worth a try but it's up to you if you want to shell out the $$$. If not Wood Neroli by Bulgari is a cheaper option although that is heavy on the neroli and may be over the top for some. But it's half the price!

Taylormade Nose

The difference between this vs neroli portofino aqua is that NP is more sweet and has a little more depth. The NP aqua is so clean and the citrus notes are more pronounced. The neroli is louder in the aqua vs the NP its a bit toned down.

Love both of them.

KerriZ

I quite like this scent. The neroli is delicious. it lasted about 4 to 5 hours on my skin. The dry down was a bit sunscreen-y but it is very subtle and not offensive in the least. Maybe not a whole bottle but definitely worth a sample.

Mark918

Lovely neroli summer scent but very poor performance. Scent is usually gone after about an hour or so. It could just be that this doesn’t work with my skin but it’s a shame because I would love for this to have staying power throughout the day.

If you like neroli scents - try neroli woods by banana republic it’s a fraction of the cost and performs roughly the same.

championchap

It's absolutely unbelievable. A scorching hot summer by the beautiful blue sea.

So zingy and lemony, the opening is something else. It does fade fairly quickly, like a citrus will, but it fades into a gorgeous, light musky neroli which I also love.

Top tier summer scent but for me, personally, it's hard to pull this off unless I am taking a summer holiday abroad as it really demands that seaside vibe.

NDStars

First blast of sweet musky tubersose and cloyingly sweet orange blossom. A dryer sheet-y lily of the valley starts to bloom as it warms on my skin. The scent is sweet and rich, rather dense; I could see this being headache-inducing if oversprayed, especially in summer. In small doses, though, it would make for a nice sweet summer white floral particularly in the evening. It doesn't seem like it's going to stick around for long though, it hasn't been 10 minutes and the strength is less than half of what it was in the opening. Ah well.. it is lovely, if oversweet in the beginning. Feminine and best for hot weather, used sparingly.

gedlive

I just rediscovered this.
I did not wear it much in Summer heat. Because of the Amber wood base note, it's not as refreshing as some in hot weather.
Indian Summer now, early Fall, it's perfect!
It's still citrusy and refreshing, and the Amber wood gives a bit of warmth.
So I would say this is best in Fall and Spring.

Alex_Schultz

My first review, but hopefully this will at least make a little bit of sense 😅

This smells absolutely wonderful, the opening does come off a bit zesty the first few minutes with lots of sparkling citrus before it quickly settles as a masterfully blended - and one of the very best, aquatic/summer scents I have ever smelled.

It’s fresh, flowery and soft - totally unisex, leaning a bit towards masculine. Just close your eyes and you’ll be at the mediterranean coast soaking up the sun.

Bvlgari Aqva Pour Homme Marine has been my favourite aquatic for years, and while they share some of the same notes like neroli, petitgrain and some of the amber in the drydown - the Bvlgari Aqva Pour Homme Marine (to me) is more of an office/casual/date scent - while Neroli Portofino Acqua would be it’s playful sibling, perfect for days at the beach, casual daily wear in the summer or a romantic dinner at a beachwalk café.

It seems some people are having issues with the lack of longevity and sillage - and can honestly say I wish the sillage were a little better, simply because it smells so great and because I kind of hoped it would be a little better because of the bright, “in your face” citrusy opening.

On me this becomes an intimate scent in about an hour or two - but then it stays like that for a pretty good amount of time, but your mmv of course. I haven’t tried it in hot summer-temperatures yet, but I guess that might up the performance a little ?

As for now, I really enjoy it for what it is - and just add a few extra atomizations before I leave the house.

Matt_Richardson

Believe it or not, TF Neroli Portofino Acqua (released 2016) is a near clone of John Varvatos Artisan (released 2009). Both these scents were done by the same perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux. Of course, you get the expected performance issues with the Varvatos, but if you're on a budget, go for the Varvatos, it's 99% the same.

ELR

On a tester strip this was a pretty bright citrus scent - kind of green in that none of the base notes were heavy or sweet to take down the zesty almost bitterness of the citrus at the top. To me that makes this perfect for hot weather when you want something bright and light to throw on.

On my skin I don't like pure green citrus scents, so it wasn't for me but that is purely preference. I will say, if you do like this invest in the Neroli Portofino EDP (no Acqua in the name) as this EDT scent dissapears quickly and for the price I assume you don't want to have to reapply all day. I know that citrus heavy fragrances don't tend to last so its not just that this is bad quality or anything like that.

NellieD

A lovely bitter orange soliflore, but exactly as short-lived as one would expect from an EdT based around top notes (petitgrain and neroli) and short-lived middle notes (orange blossom). It opens with the woody/green side of the bitter orange blossom with prominent neroli bittered-up by petitgrain. Within half an hour it's settled into a softer orange blossom & white musk heart. Within an hour, it's dried down to a white musk skin scent. Not sure how long the dry down lasts because I'm not a fan of white musk, so I keep re-spraying to get back that awesome neroli! 😂
I'm glad I bought it because neroli and orange blossom are some of my favorite notes, but I'm also glad that I bought it on clearance because I don't think it would be worth the full Tom Ford price considering that it's just white musk for most of its wear. I have a feeling this will be my go-to scent for when I'm headed out to go swimming (since the swimming will ruin any long-lived scent anyway).

norsende

Reminds me of traveling to the Mediterranean during these corona times. Love it.

sindiponchik

Smell of Italian cost 🤩love this fragrance! Soapy in a good way, sexy neroli mixed with citrus and bergamot! Ideal for summer days 😻

TheLB

Love it, if I could fill a bath tub with it and soak, I would. Though that would probably cause some skin issues, anyways. It’s fresh, it’s citrus, it’s like walking though an orchard with the breeze floating by your nose from the Mediterranean Sea. It’s gorgeous, simple, refreshing, green. It’s expensive but nothing else smells like it or can touch it. It’s magnificent, womanly, it’s wealthy woman living her best life in Capri in a bottle.

valerieboyce66

I'm so confused. On my skin, this is a fresh soap fragrance, appropriate for day time, but I don't think it's worth the price. It's clean, probably from the bergamot + neroli. When I smell this, I smell hotel ivory soap. On paper, however, the bergamot/lemon is pronounced, and I wish it maintained more of that fresh lemon scent on my skin.

NicoSuave

Which neroli for the collection... which one indeed. Acqua Di Parma Essenza or Tom Ford Neroli Portofino Acqua?

TFNPA is fresher and lighter than ADPE but is simpler and somewhat linear by comparison. It also has more than a passing resemblance to a bowl of Froot Loops.

ADPE is darker, more complex, and gives off an expensive hotel soap vibe. It cannot match the freshness of Fico Di Amalfi or Colonia, but what it contributes to the ADP line is unique and distinctive enough to make its mark.

Do you prefer your neroli fresh and playful, or "faincy" and nuanced?

Grade: B+ (Essenza would be B)
Quick take: Neroli Froot Loops

remymcdonnell

Ah. Breathe in the fresh summer scent of Neroli Portofino Acqua. If you like the original, you’ll love this. This reminds me of a hot summers holiday by the beach, crisp polo shirt and a pair of shorts. You are the classy gentleman. I’m a huge fan of the Forté, but this somehow feels (and I know this is going to upset some people) slightly more, refined? It’s a well rounded beautiful summer scent. It’s expensive but if you can find a bargain like I did then there’s no question you should get it.

Edit: There’s also a sort of, minty/eucalyptus freshness to this scent that makes it rather cooling on the nose so even better for those dry, hot days.

Gwaredd

Very zingy. Pure citrus, oranges and lemons. Almost, like something you would use to clean the kitchen floor.

I just expected or wanted more after reading the reviews.

Zero problems with longevity or silage on my skin. Had to scrub my arms twice to remove it.

It's true to the notes, not something I thought I'd dislike. I couldnt use this daily.

Nicronomicon

My dislike of this fragrance has nothing to do with the notes or how they wear on my skin...it smells great on me. The issue I take with it, is that after an hour I cannot even smell it. I don't expect an EDT to last for 12 hours, however, at TF prices I expect to smell it for at least 5-6. This is the only TF fragrance I've tried (both EDP and EDT) that disappears so quickly. This is one I'd advise everyone to go to the counter to test, or see if you can order a tester, to assess how long it lasts on your skin. That's the only way to really confirm whether the price is worth it (to you).

sarahcapo

This is so gorgeous and unisex. I haven’t smelled the original but based on reviews I can confirm that this version turns slightly floral on the dry down versus the original which apparently leans more masculine. I say it’s unisex because it really can go either way regardless. It’s citrus and green but deep and sophisticated.. somehow it calms me down even with all of these zingy notes. It reminds you of after a fresh shower in the summer, tanned and throwing on your white shirt with a nice watch and just waiting for your friends to be ready while you sip on your aperitif. Love it

laceeka

this is the best after shower, when you will meet people within 1-2 hours. Very pleasant, soft, inoffensive, fresh, floral scent. Perfect for close contacts, office. My wife loves it. Many people complaining about longevity. Yes, it doesnt last for 24 hours and cant smell it after 2 showers. But not all colognes has to be like that. Buy this, if you want to smell great in a quite way. Its unisex, im a man. I like it more in the beginning. Its more fresh. After approx 2 hours becoming too soft, needs reapply if needed.

gtabasso

intense citrus with bergamot mainly and lemon with some neroli and orange blossom with musk; fresh and bright, not worth the price; loved the top but then dries down like a household cleaner

gedlive

I'm enjoying this on a warm Winter day.
The amberwood gives it some warmth, so its a great freshy for Winter.
The others from Portofino line are more refreshing for Summer, like Mandarino, etc.

sjd610

This just smells straight up like Savlon, the antiseptic cream. There’s no way I’d pay for a Tom Ford fragrance just to smell like Savlon, it’s such a horrid scent.

Opaulino22

Smell wise, to my nose just wow. Amazing 10/10 it smells almost like that baby after bath colonia but more mature for grown ups. I love it

But hate it at the same time, projects for 1.5 hrs at best mostly just 1 and goes right to a skin scent for another 2-4 hrs if you’re lucky. Theres aftershave with better longevity not worth the $.

Smell 10/10
Longevity 4/10
Price/value 1/10

gorjan78

Zesty neroli...great... but I like all neroli fragnance, sorry

MNadz

The longevity and performance of this made me so angry. Why would you release this w/both being so horrible.

Opening is nice fresh neroli. Dry down stays neroli. Pleasing while you can smell it. It does not project well, being very close upon application...and works it way to a skin scent quickly. Doesn’t last much longer on clothes.

Almost all my aftershaves last longer than this. Thumbs down for the house of TF for releasing this one.

Can not recommend. Go get a decant at Sephora so you can be disappointed yourself.

JjBooby

I really enjoyed this scent upon first sniff - oranges, neroli, and other summery scents. However, the top summery notes lasted no more than 5 minutes on my skin and the dry down of lemony Lysol lasted for no more than one hour before going away completely. I'm very disappointed in the longevity of this overpriced name tag.

Cathped

Very pure and pleasant. Maybe a tad too strong in the beginning but gets more toned Down after some time. There's no way to Escape that it is extremely soap smelling. I think it may be too much for some...Public toilet cleanser smell, a friend of mine's opinion. I think it is a good perfume that makes you feel clean and Clear minded. But still I dont think I will invest in a bottle. Then I find H&M's "Above the Clouds" a better option in the soap/clean smelling categoty.

tandem_4x4

I was complaining that NPF evaporates very quickly but this one - in 30 min. This is fantastic non-performance for the price. But at least it does not smell Shumanit (harch chemical cleaner produced in Israel), like NP does.

cats8398

Similar perfumes for far less $. This is way to expensive to evaporate after 20 minutes. Both the aqua and original are nice but not nice enough to have to reapply hourly. Dior Portofino last much longer and is close enough to give the same fragrance feel.

clintjr82

Smells really good. Its Incredibley super fresh. One of those freshies you will remember 20 yrs from now. I like this better than the orginal because the original dry down was ass to me. Neroli Acqua wears better on a man, I wouldnt like this on my woman, as I was told by a woman. A rare floral scent thats good on man. The performance is bad like everyone says. Its worth a buy if you don't mind spraying every 3 hours. Unless your your going to be super close to someone in the heat, most of the time you might be ok.

I bought Bottega Venetas Parco Neroli Orange instead for the peformance. Much better and powerfully intense.

perfume_infatuated

This unisex-labeled perfume is a typical masculine neroli barbershop cologne. If a woman wore this in my part of the world, people would think she's using her father's cheap aftershave cologne named (Frescal), which a man could buy for $5 per 480 ml. Surprisingly, they are similar smell-wise, despite the wide discrepancy in the quality of ingredients.

This doesn't resemble any sunscreen vibe whatsoever, it's just a classic neroli aftershave/ barbershop cologne, and above that, I can't find it interesting, motivating, inviting, or entertaining no matter the season or the temperature. It cannot make a resort scent, even for a man.

Because nobody had mentioned that, I presume this type of aftershave cologne is unknown at men's barbershops around the world except in the middle east where it's extremely famous since the 70s or 80s to date. An unexpectedly futile release.

Donald Wilborn

Great fragrance for women, but definitely not for men in my opinion. Maybe if you’re a softer, smooth hands type of guy that works in a cosmetics department or is a hair stylist or something feminine like that for a career. Masculine men though, steer clear of this.

I received Tom Ford’s ‘Neroli Portofino Acqua’ as a gift and was so excited to smell it as I couldn’t believe someone would gift me such an expensive fragrance. As soon as I sprayed it, I knew it was special, but special for a woman, definitely not a manly scent by any means.

My girlfriend smelled this one and said ‘wow that smells amazing, I would wear that’. She said it was definitely more for women, and although it smelled magnificent, it’s just not for me. So I gave the bottle to her, and man she smells so wonderful.

Citrus, neroli, white musk, marine accords and floral notes abound on this. Performance is very good, and sillage is ever present without being cloying or offensive. Longevity is about 8-10+ hours with ten sprays (neck, chest, shoulders, wrists) and I can still smell my woman when she comes home from work.

I really love this scent. Although it is not for me or any masculine man, it is a very sexy and seductive fragrance for a woman. Highly recommended in that regard. Wonderful gift for mature women over thirty.

realmarkvon

To be very practical: I really only love this due to the Neroli. However, it does not last.

Solution: I bought Neroli essential oil and add it to an electric oil diffuser in my house. This brings a delicious Neroli smell for a long, long time.

Is it Tom Ford? No. Did I get a longer, better, Neroli dose? Oh yes.

2SEXY4THISTOWN

It's the same scent as Neroli Portofino, but as explained to me by the sales rep at Macy's, it's the Eau de Toilette version- hence lighter than the original. I love it just the same and I'm so glad Neroli Portofino and this are unisex scents! 12/10.

noy815

Heavier and a bit sweeter than expected, possibly because of the neroli. Other reviews make it sound very light and it isn’t so. However, if you’re into heavy expensive scents, but still citrusy, you might like this one.

FloridaRose

Got to try this recently at Sephora and oh my! Gorgeous. Could not stop smelling myself. Lasted for hours. Soaked into my skin like butter, still light and beautifully detectable the next morning 12+ hours later! The fresh opening of bergamot and neroli is exquisite. Dries down to an understated soft floral. While this skews a little feminine, I could see any gender pulling it off. Definitely a daytime fragrance for summer. Office appropriate. Really agreed with my chemistry. First Tom Ford I've related to.

Neosmiaphyte

Clean, fresh, refreshing unisex sunscreen. Neroli, orange blossom, bergamot, and musk. Light and perfect for summer with a hefty price tag

TAP

This light and fresh EdT is an absolutely lovely rendition of the original Neroli Portofino by Tom Ford. It's perhaps even crisper and cleaner with a slightly cooler and softer musky drydown. The composition is simpler and more straightforward, but it manages to capture the same wonderful essence of neroli and orange blossom beautifully. The soft sillage and moderate longevity makes it completely unobtrusive and ideal also for office wear :)

Tracer1203

I really do love Tom ford's fragrances so far,

I've really only tried the fresher ones.

but wow. what a clean natural scent.

fresh and clear. think blue sky about 1pm in spring.
rolling fields with the ocean in the distance.
and oh so high a few tendrils of wispy clouds.

Love it!!

mikkiboy

This one is a bit more floral then regular Neroli Portofino, smells 95% the same, has longer sillage and it is more for the ladies, In my opinion. Excellent and specific frag.

ReapThaWhirlwind

Neroli Portofino Acqua is an aquatic aromatic floral. As with all Tom Ford Private Blends, the quality of the oils here is very natural, and their smell is true to the real thing. This used to be a vintage quality back in the day, that was apart of all the best colognes in the gangster era.

Neroli Portofino Acqua does amazingly well to deliver that classic essence. Only to some advanced potential, comes accented here with a lovely touch of modern eye-candy. It projects to me something like an old man, with a hot young girl straddled over top of him.

First you get those old school gangster florals—but then you get this beautiful aqueous aroma that settles on top of them—and provides the perfect compliment to what would otherwise just be plain white florals. The effect is so stylish—and gives true meaning to the term Acqua here.

The fragrance projects amazingly well with a light application—and picks up so beautifully in the heat. When it's blazing hot outside with no humidity, Neroli Portofino Acqua literally livens up the stale air with a freshness factor that is bar none. I love it.

I take this as a perfection on the original, and probably what the original should have been in the first place. This formula has the perfect balance to all its qualities—fresh, breezy, and charming. The florals can be ever enchanting too—so anyone looking to add a little magic in their life might be able to find it by enrapturing themselves in a little Neroli Portofino Acqua.

chillevanille

This is the first blue bottle TF perfume that I actually like, it's not too soapy or unisex, it's actually very warm, clean and sexy. If you like clean musk and/or citrus this is a must-try, I can't wait to wear it in the summer. It's so light and fresh but unique and expensive-smelling, and it leaves a nice, airy trail too. I think this would be a perfect signature for very hot weather and I think I'll buy a full bottle just for that; very loveable :)

Bottle from - 2017

Neroli Portofino Acqua opens with a purifying, fresh, clean and bright burst of citruses with dominant neroli and with a nice touch of orange blossom. At this point,in the opening,Neroli Portofino Acqua is very similar to the original Neroli Portofino. What makes Neroli Portofino Acqua different than the original is that he does not have a delicate and sophisticated touch of white florals and herbs in the middle.
The drydown is dominated by citruses with a nice touch of amber and musk. He's got that sunny-sea vibe going on and he is a bit more appealing, more playful, less soapy and more mass pleasing then the original Neroli Portofino.

Longevity - 6/10(6+ hours)
Silage/Projection - 5,5/10(soft to moderate projection and silage for the first 1-2 hours)
Weather -Best in late spring and summer

Scent - 7,5/10

Good smell. Doesn’t last for sh*t. Honestly you’re better off saving up for the Forte version. Because the original NP has horrible longevity as well.

just28

I am a woman and even though I feel like it's very unisex, maybe even a masculine scent, I love to wear for a boost of confidence at work, in the warmer months.

To me a very uplifting fresh, strong and sophisticated but approachable.

Positive, easygoing, confident, and different fragrance.

I'll have to try the EDP for more longevity, but so far I really enjoy this one.

Sorry for my bad spelling below

beachesnbreezes

Just recently purchased this fragrance and I am in love. This is pure Orange blossom on a very clean white musk slightly ambery base. This reminds me of a Mediterranean beach holiday and this was an awesome purchase for my summer beachy collection. Its lightly soapy and it's always good to have at least one soapy fragrance for hot weather and this is stunning.I don't get the complaints about poor longevity. No it's not a beast in silliage but this lasted a long on time and I are very dry skin.I would recommend people use unscented bath products and body lotions and I guarantee you'll get better longevity with your fragrances.I really wouldn't say this fragrance is unisex as this really sweetens up on my son however try on your skin to see how it works. This fragrance lifts my mood and this is one fragrance I will be rocking this spring and summer. This does have an orange blossom sunscreen smell to it as well like the bain de Soleil sunscreen. This is very elegant and beachy fresh at the same time.Just awesome!

thethe

A sweeter more refined version of 4711..

OlfactoryLover

This reminds me of Mugler Cologne with a bit more oomph. Very pretty and clean/soapy. I could see this being perfect for a Mediterranean holiday. Just close your eyes and imagine you are on a crystal blue sunny beach instead of freezing cold England in the rain. Beautiful!

madeleinepu

I have splurged on purchasing this perfume twice. It is possibly one of my top 5 favorite perfumes. It is a perfect everyday scent, fresh and clean. The only bone I have to pick with this perfume is the lasting power. The scent is basically gone within 2-3 hours. If I purchase it again I will apply the neroli portofino body oil first to increase lasting power.

Hydra114

Shame. Love the smell, almost like a soft, soapy sunscreen but almost immediately after spraying it becomes a skin scent.

Puchased Mandarino di amalfi acqua before this, and as I wore it I determined it was a tad too floral for me. NPA however in my opinion is just right, not reaching too far feminine for my taste. It does remind me of a fresh soapy sunscreen which might turn some people off, but is right up my ally. Living in Texas its perfect for days when its hot and I don't want something too heavy or annoying. This gives me feelings of getting ready to swim at the pool with a drink and not a care in the world.

This is a classy perfume for a man

I have a review from a while ago.
I was excited about this fragrance when I first got it, but now I'm disappointed.

The silage or projection is allmost a skin scent right away, and that's with 6 sprays.
The longevity is better, but it's just so soft. It smells nice.

I have found a Neroli cologne type fragrance that lasts longer than Forte or any of the Private Blend freshies, it's Petit Matin by MFK, Francis Kurkdjian.

I took this out of my permanent collection this morning, will not be getting it again.

psychocandy

I couldn't resist and I bought it on site at Sephora. I just have never smelled such a transporting fragrance. One spray and your on a sunny beach or lounging by a pool. I clearly have succumb to the marketing of it because I'm imaging all the Italian coast glamour and sweaty tan skin by a pool at a posh hotel. We've been wearing it when we go swimming haha...it our swimming fragrance. best sunscreen scent I have tried to date. Goes well with sweat... It is seductive and addictive, I get the narcotic part for sure.

gedlive

I bought this around Christmas time. Now the warm Spring days are here in Baltimore, and I am loving this NP Acqua.

Three things they have improved over the original NP, it's fresher, longer lasting, and the price has come down.
I am surprised at how good the longevity of this is, finally a freshy that lasts!
It is a fragrance where the longevity is greater than the sillage. So it can seem to be gone, because of the light sillage, but it sticks around for a solid 4 hours, and I am one who's skin absorbs fragrances.

The blending is so good and subtle, and quality of notes amazing.
It's so well rounded, the citrus is not dominant, the Neroli, musk and woods are just so evenly blended to make a very fresh and enjoyable fragrance.
There is a sophistication to the fragrance, not to sweet or fruity.
This is going in to my top 5 for Spring and Summer, along with MFK Aqua Universalis, Creed Royal Water.
A great fragrance like this one with even better longevity is MFK Petit Matin.

This would be a favourite of mine if only the performance were better. The scent is divine; a slightly more citrus take on the original, making it more masculine, with a lovely warm, musky base. It makes me feel happy and at peace but boy do I wish it projected more. Longevity is okay, in fact just as good as the original, but after 30 mins I get hardly any projection, which is a real shame. Got to love that scent though, one of the best neroli based fragrances I've smelt.

Meloxy

Very fresh. Very nice. Poor sillage and longevity.

siraog

I sampled this in the store today and I will write my first impression. I think the neroli is so owerpowering. Original have a better and more balanced blend. Opening reminded me of Mugler Cologne. Both have neroli and a soapy opening, but even Mugler has a better balance than this one. After 20 minutes I was bored of the Neroli already. All the negatives aside, this is a decent summer fragrance. If you love neroli, you will love this. Just beware that it is too powerful before making a blind buy. Another negative is the price. It's not poor quality, but doesn't deserve the price either. It was 95£ for a 50 ml bottle and I can get 3 100 ml Mugler for this price and be happy with that. So, if you love neroli and don't mind the price just buy this. But do not blind buy it.

Camerynn

I'm so sad. Based on the notes I thought I'd love it. But it smells like Desitin. For those that don't know what that is, it's a nice way of saying it smells like sunscreen. Not an unpleasant smell per se, but nothing I'd want to wear as a perfume.

Kraemer

Neroli Portofino Acqua is a longer lasting, fresher version of the original Neroli Portofino, and it's absolutely dynamite. In fact, I greatly prefer it to the original, and even the heavily praised (but vastly darker) Neroli Portofino Forte.

If you're a fan of the originals absolutely stunning mid-notes and wished they lasted a bit longer, this one is for you. The amber and musk base still exist, but they're barely present. Because of this, they don't consume the mid as quickly.

The result is soft, fresh, and incredibly long lasting.

Michelle12345678

This is very close to Neroli Portofino. The only difference is a more alcoholic opening and a slightly fresher, more citrusy smell. It's delicious, amazing and wonderful just like NP is. But if you own one, don't feel like you have to buy the other, they are barely different.

impressedguy

What is really interesting here is that although this is supposed to be a lighter version of Neroli Portofino - which has major projection and longevity issues - it performs better than the original. Its perfume is quite similar with the original but not completely the same, it smells quite more citrusy, while neroli stays quiet at the back.

Less pricey than the original but still quite expensive, I may go for this one next summer, instead of the Neroli Portofino. I'm still not very sure though if it is the best neroli perfume out there.

*This review was written after several full wearings of the perfume and not just after smelling this on paper or on wrist.

m10m10

Perfect, besides the price.

They even rob consumer of the slightly-better-looking-box because Acqua is slightly cheaper (still terribly expensive) than the normal TFPBs.

Fogwalker

Oh dear. Yet another Tom Ford that shortly after spraying on my skin disappears into the ether.

I practically bathed in this today at Harvey Nichols and after 30 minutes there was barely a trace of it left.

Admittedly, it smells lovely, but for me, it's hugely disappointing and ridiculously over-priced.

nemesisdrummer

Tried this in a department store and while its a nice light neroli citrus blend its worth nowhere near the asking price. I still maintain if you want a quality neroli that lasts I reccomend Zegna's Mediterranean Neroli. Neroli Potofino is beautiful but over priced also and Forte is way over priced.

andabri

I love the original and I love this. It's taking the orange and neroli from the original and mixing them with some sweet vanilla-y water. It's watery, light, light, light... a private skin scent in the truest sense of the term. Just smelling close to my wrist it's that nice sweet watery scent, but when I put my nose straight to my wrist it is beautiful neroli heaven. The neroli in this is better than in the original. But that is LITERALLY nose to wrist. Sillage is poor as they come. I'm not one who likes to leave trails of fragrance in my wake, but this is way too light. Yet it's a simple fragrance with simple notes. When something is so simple it needs to be well done to work, and this is.

This is still unisex like the original, but if the original veers towards more typically masculine, this is more typically feminine. It's light and pretty and fresh, watery sweet floral.

redskyatnight

Fresh orange blossom, with a touch of watery nuances. I have a sample and wouldn't buy it alone, but will use it up to layer with some other scents. This perfume would be great for someone who doesn't like perfume - just a hint of a refreshing scent that doesn't overpower.

artemiss

Very simple riff on neroli, I really do like this, even if it does trend a bit soapy for my taste. It isn't loud, so some people who like their fragrance to precede them and linger won't like it, but for me, this is perfect.
Are there better neroli-based fragrances out there? Sure, but if you need the name and price tag to feel good about your fragrance, this will fit the bill.

Teorema

Tom Ford Kölnisch Wasser again and a lighter flanker to go along with it this time. Why bother buying the "acqua" version? Dousing oneself in citrus infused water would at least be beneficial for your health and for your wallet. Next up is Tom Ford's Colonia di Lacrime which consists of notes of consumer tears after spending a ridiculous amount of money just to feel as though they achieved the faux italian Tom Ford aesthetic.

Konga5000

In the next life I hope Tom Ford comes back as a homeless begger man on the streets of a chic urban city .
As he peers into the window of a restaurant that boasts "Special! Surf & Turf for 2; $99.99" (Prime rib, Jumbo Lobster tail, Shrimp cocktail, Salad, crescent rolls with butter, pecan pie for dessert, coffee / beer or soda ).

He fumbles through his rumpled old trench coat only to discover 4 cents, 1/4 of a roll of peppermint Lifesavers encrusted with lint & a Marlboro cigarette butt.

Yeah.

That would be about "even Steven" with me!

The End

dmvawter

When it's on it's amazing -- like suntan lotion from your sweetest, most romantic fever dream. But then it turns on you and becomes too much like Acqua di Parma -- soapy and sharp and reminiscent of the guy with the center part shag you worked with in the produce section of your neighborhood grocery store in high school. How do you keep the magic alive?

Osmo

I tried to be kind with this one while i find the tom ford series quite quality and niche style flavoured, but this one is just the legendary 4711 in a different bottle and design.. The first 'neroli portofino' made it also well to that direction (reminiscenting 4711) but this one just nailed it.. quite sorry as a result in terms of 'originality', but don't blame me it's just my honest opinion and never blame others ppl tastes :)

Arlene-Beatrix

Nice summery scent, quite soapy at first. Middle notes are citrus fresh though. It's a bit green too. Maybe better for men than for women. All in all, it's very pleasant cologne. Longevity is OK.

champykilo

90% of those thats complaining, still owning this baby. I tried yesterday at the airport and it smell divine and last for 8h with one spray... that says that you nose may get used to it to the point that its hard to detect it. So please try one good spray under your shirt and see the difference. The price is crazy but thats TOM FORD babyyy if you aint got the money choose something else.

cpharr13

Oh Tom Ford... you never disappoint! On my search for the perfect neroli fragrance I have found the one that my heart desired! It smells like sweet perfectly ripened oranges wrapped in a cashmere scarf. A little Musk and a little... vanilla? Yum!

Michaezra

Tried it at Sephora. Don't know about the performance because I just sniffed it on paper. It smells like an orange tree. A really natural orange tree. Not an actual orange but the leaves. Too expensive for what you get. Not my cup of tea.

CB23

Love it, easily better than Forte and the original in my opinion. Lasts longer, smells better, the only thing I don't like is the box instead of the original packaging

Shwets

A better and less harsh/bitter version of the original.
Not sure on the longevity though as i didn't test it long enough (washed hands in between), but possibility it lasted slightly longer in comparison...

streetter

This is bothering me. The fragrance itself is absolutely amazing, and it does last longer than the original. BUT, what's the point of spending $200 on a 3.4 if no one can smell you? I got a sample from sephora and sprayed the entire vial on myself to get a realistic idea of what a heavy wearing would feel like. It's the most pleasant clean soapy frag I've ever smelled. Tom for nils it on scent blending but what about projection and sillage. If I pay 200 I'm expecting compliments, but nobody can smell me. A treasure is lost this is. Add some iso e super or ambrox to male the silage better please. I'd rather have a less great smelling fragrance that people can actually smell than a marvelous fragrance that will go unnoticed. You might as well wear nothing you'll get the same result and for free.

KDW17

I agree that this is very similar to the original Neroli Portofino, which I discovered last August and have coveted ever since. However I could not justify the price. Then I found this one, Neroli Portofino Acqua, at Heathrow with an additional discount - which made it just affordable. Figuring it's now or never, I bought the smallest size and I don't regret it. It is not so obviously unisex that it does not suit women - it suits me fine, smells great, and doesn't make me think of my dad, as other unisex scents tend to do. It projects a gentle waft of perfume around me and it lasts around 3 hours. If you want the original but can't afford it, try this one, you won't be disappointed.

genny17

Tried it, fresh and spicy, and more masculine to my nose,so would be a good scent for guys in summer...or for women who like the dry unisex vibe...as for me, I prefer feminine..so it is a no ! Maybe overpriced for what it is.. Tom Ford has a nice selection of scents, but at times I find they are neither frankly for men, nor for women, kind of annoying.

LondonDan

I'll begin this review by saying that I'm a big fan of Tom Ford and I own & love several of his fragrances (specifically Mandarino di Amalfi, Tobacco Vanille & Extreme).

I feel I need to add this caveat at the beginning because I have virtually nothing positive whatsoever to say about Neroli Portofino Acqua. Admittedly it does smell nice and fresh for the first few seconds after it is applied. Make the most of those seconds, because you won't be able to smell anything at all by the time you've walked to the next room. If I layer this with the Neroli Portofino deodorant stick, the deodorant is still working hard and projecting for several hours after this entirely pointless fragrance has given up the ghost.

My girlfriend tends to notice and comment on most of the fragrances I wear, but has yet to detect even a hint of this on me. Yes, I understand that it's half the price of the Private Blends. Nonetheless, at £90 a bottle for what is essentially lightly-scented water, Mr. Ford ought to be ashamed of putting his normally reliable name to this. I'd go in to greater detail about the various notes one can detect in this fragrance, but I'd be wasting my time - it doesn't last long enough to concern yourself with it.

streetter

Sampled this at Sephora and I must say this has BETTER projection and longevity than the origional. Some of these reviewers are being duped into thinking aqua means lighter. That just shows me they have not experienced the fragrance. It also smells more crowd pleasing if that is possible than the origional. Extremely good wlquality. Along the lines of Versace eau fraiche, but legitimately 3 times more refined and mixed. Women will love this on men. Ultra clean.

SheliQueen

I am, SADLY, addicted to Ford's ridiculously over-priced, under-achieving Neroli Portofino line...If it's available I own it...in multiples. After reading these reviews I had to jump in to say the line is a complete waste of money and effort...Longevity has zero meaning for ANY of his Neroli Portofino line. Within thirty minutes EVERY trace of this fragrance has disappeared from my skin that has been bathed, oiled, lotioned, deodorized and perfumed (EDP and EDT)...do I love the fragrance? YES!! Do I appreciate the ultimate rip-off that is Tom Ford Neroli Portofino (in ANY form) NO!!! I am finished with it...when I use the last of my gigantic hoarded supply I will waste no more time nor money on Tom Ford...There are other fragrances out there that will provide the actual longevity for which the consumer pays, and will likely please me as much (likely more) than Ford's over-priced, watered-down products...stick a fork in me Tom Ford: I'm done. The ride is over.

Lys_S

I was surprised when Tom Ford decided to release an EDT in the private blend range.
NP Acqua itself is a little more floral than the original. I like it, however after experiencing the incredible Forte, I cannot compare.
It's funny to see people get so worked up on the concentration and longevity of a fragrance. The way I see this fragrance is one to spray on before you go to bed at night. Some people don't want an overwhelming perfume, and I think a lot of Tom Ford followers forget that. He is merely expanding his demographic/market.

GodKing

I finally got around to sampling this flanker since it was displayed front-and-center at my local Sephora. While Neroli Poftofino came is a stylish glass flacon, Acqua comes is a plastic bottle (similar style) that looks a bit cheap. While this flanker is less expensive than its namesake, the price-tag is $205 for a 100ml bottle so it is not an inexpensive designer-line fragrance by any means.

As a reminder, I found Neroli Portofino to be an 80% match for Maurer & Wirtz 4711 Original Eau de Cologne (albeit a nicer and more polished version) that only lasted 2-3 hours on my skin. And I found Neroli Portofino Acqua to be a 90% copy of 4711 Cologne that lasted around 90-minutes on my skin.

What the heck is the point of this fragrance? I find it to be redundant and a true waste of money. Yep, Tom "Hornswoggler" Ford is trying to swipe our $205 in order pay for his lavish lifestyle, while leaving us with a $15 bottle of cologne in exchange. Just say, "No" to this overpriced 4711 clone Cologne and look elsewhere for a quality Spring/Summer fragrance. El Stinko!

onlymynoseknows

Tom Ford starts to become a comedian. This is light scented water with no longevity. The smell is good but after 20 minutes it's gone. A better name for this fragrance is Tom Ford - Gone with the wind. For this price i expect a better performance. A good scent but a joke regarding performance.

jeannebelmondo

I'm a brand name slut as much as the next girl, but this is Jean Nate fragrance mist in a $190 bottle.

Greggieboy76

Surprised at the comments, because performance on this actually pretty good and far better than the current formulation of Neroli Portofino. Only 3 notes listed for this one, whereas NP has a plethora of notes, however they both smell very similar and both smell great. Don't expect a revolution it's clean, soapy Neroli all the way, with a hint of Sweet Amber (not the type of Amber you would smell in true Amber fragrances).

derekjames

Not sure what the guys below are talking about, this has better performance and longevity. Very similar to the original, only complaint is that it doesn't come with that same kind of box as the rest of the private collection.

Medusa82

Smelled this today - quite nice but zero lasting power - like the bottle - tempted to purchase however

the_badger

Scented water, watered down Neroli Portofino.

rockegg

I practically broke my brain trying to figure out what this reminds me of, but first, I love it. At first whiff: Ah! Summers long ago. Familiarity. Contentment. It lasts a long time, becoming less sparkly and more warm. This is lovely stuff, I may buy it.

It did finally dawn on me what I was being reminded of. Good old Jean Nate. I did a side by side, wrist vs. wrist comparison, and it should come as no surprise that TF Neroli Portofino Acqua wins by a landslide, but there is definitely some similarity there, enough to give me that sense of bringing back days of summer long ago.

philball

I like this, I like it a lot. At first I was surprised at just how similar it is to the original NP although it's definitely heavier on the citrus, which I prefer, making it sharper and more unisex. There's not much more to say that hasn't been said below. It is an edt but it manages to out-perform the edp in terms of longevity. Silage is moderate for a few hours and then it wears close to the skin. I think it's a clever move by TF to take the best-selling private blend and make it even more accessible. It is light, but not so light to make it insipid. Great stuff.

Edit: I understand peoples' frustration with this fragrance. Scent wise it tops the Neroli Portofino portfolio, however, the silage is very weak. Okay, so it's the cheaper alternative but cheaper isn't cheap at £145 a bottle. I wear it for myself as I love the fragrance but how I wished it projected more.

greenpepper

Picked this up today.
It's an EDT, not an EDP. Seems to be some confusion there. Some websites are listing it incorrectly. In fact , most websites are listing it incorrectly. It is right on the white box, that is sitting right in front of me : eau de toilette.

Its a simpler version of NP : no florals (other than neroli of course) , no aromatics. Slightly harsh citrus opening, a lot of neroli. Amber base is much simpler than NP. For whatever reason it projects more and lasts longer than NP.

The original, despite all the florals, the herbs etc. , it really pretty much smelled like 90% neroli anyway. Because of that, this doesn't smell all that different. Slightly less depth. Lavender might be the main difference between the two - I compared them, and seemed to me to be the main note that NP had and NPA didn't. If I could be picky, I'd say the amber could be made a slightly stronger presence in the new blend.

In hot weather, this should be a very good go-to. I will give an update on the longevity again. Its actually strong enough to warrant a "you could spray too much of this" warning - something that the original, you would be hard pressed to accomplish even if you showered in it.

I think this will be well received. Its quite clear that Tom Ford was very aware of the longevity issue with NP, and there has been an effort to market a version that both costs less and perfoms better.

It doesn't necessarily smell refined or rich, it more has a "get the job done" feel - it's solid, not sophisticated. You wanna smell like neroli, you're gonna smell like neroli.

I'll say though: I am very positive on this , but like the original, I think it belongs in the signature line, not the private blends.

Update: projection/longevity = good. Maybe 6.5/10, so workable. Original NP I would view as a 3/10 for comparison.

Medusa82

Got two samples of this from the TF counter first time they ever offered I wonder is t a new strategy / love the fragrance will b treating myself to this next month

MysticRose

I tend to judge perfume bottles by how they look and I assumed that this would smell like an aquatic herb garden but boy was I wrong. Upon the initial spray I detected full on tuberose and I LIVE FOR TUBEROSE. I actually wanted to cry because it was so beautiful and fresh and coupled with the neroli and orange/citrus accords I felt like I was amongst the breeze that sweeps the waters of the Riviera. An hour or so later some Amber kicked in which enhanced the calm; this fragrance is simultaneously fresh and inviting and it makes you feel luxurious. You know when you've freshly shaved your legs, had a nice shower and then jumped into bed that's how NPA made me feel: at ease and comfortable.

One thing that I noticed is that this fragrance smells like Armani Code without the ginger notes and is an exact carbon copy (in my opinion) of Reckless by Roja Dove. I hate it when you smell a fragrance and whilst trying to appreciate the composition you are hit with that felling of unknown familiarity which I like to call olfactory déjà-vu. Anyway, it is a lovely fragrance with awesome longevity, at least 6+ hours. It projects well in the opening but after a couple of hours or so it lingers close to the skin. I'd rate it 8/10.

akasirro

Just received this and really like it, this will be a nice gift to the wife. It smells a lot like Ralph Lauren's Lauren Blue perfume without the metallic note! I think this it is a richer, fuller, and lighter alternative. Simply put; it is cool, soft, wet, and flowery. This one leans much more feminine than masculine. The citrus is very far in the background, amber is present, but Neroli is everywhere! I believe there is a huge dose of magnolias or gardenias supporting the Neroli. +longevity is excellent

Gandhi76

This is just an eau de toilette version of Neroli Portofino. Smells beautiful, fresh and clean. Perfect summer scent

Uriya

Just happen to try it today (and got a sample) at the local Tom Ford dealer. it's great, a tad harsher and perhaps slightly greener than the original. Lasted easily 4 hours on my wrist and... will be cheaper than the original! It's a delight. Will get one when it's out. A terrific Eau de Cologne (even when compared side by side with the majestic Chanel Eau de Cologne). Don't hate on it, cause it's a Tom Ford and too expensive for you. It smells like heaven and Neroli Portofino Acqua is a proof that even a simple Eau de Cologne accord can be done superbly, given a good budget and a talented perfumer.

GodKing

I'll smell this one when I see it on the shelves, but why release an aquatic version of an extremely light, already somewhat aquatic, fragrance? Neroli Portofino smells great but shits-the-bed after 60-minutes on my skin. Let's see...should Tom Ford release Plum Leather Vanilla Oud Wood or Citrus Freshie Light? Trying to keep a neutral attitude about this release, but it's easier said than done. Not a review...just trying to explain the simultaneous head-scratching, ass-scratching, confused look on my face.

Update: I finally got around to sampling this flanker since it was displayed front-and-center at my local Sephora. While Neroli Poftofino came is a stylish glass flacon, Acqua comes is a plastic bottle (similar style) that looks a bit cheap. While this flanker is less expensive than its namesake, the price-tag is $205 for a 100ml bottle so it is not an inexpensive designer-line Tom Ford fragrance by any means.

What the heck is the point of this fragrance? I find it to be redundant and a true waste of someone's money. Yep, Tom "Hornswoggler" Ford is trying to swipe your $205 in order pay for his lavish lifestyle, while leaving you with a $15 bottle of cologne in exchange. Just say, "No" to this overpriced 4711 clone Cologne and keep looking elsewhere. El Stinko!

srt33

I love Tom Ford and I usually don't comment unless its a review, but I just can't help but ask: Really? A lighter form of an already very light fragrance?
