Born Feb. 1 at an L.A.-area hospital, the boys made their debut with some help from dad, whose role as Dr. Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd on Grey's Anatomy came in handy. "I was watching everything that was going on (with the doctors), and you see a lot of that in the show," says Dempsey, who helped cut the cords – both of them! The new dad admits that when the couple first learned they were expecting not one, but two new additions, "I was a little overwhelmed." But looking ahead, the racing enthusiast is already revved up to take the boys out for their first spin. Racing "is such a family sport," he says. But perhaps McGrumpy and McThoughtful are better suited? Dempsey says of the fraternal twins: "Sullivan will probably read this article in 20 years and say, 'What did you say about me?' He's sort of the grumpy old man. Darby is very much the peaceful, quiet little Buddha." The two bicycle together and watch movies like The Sound of Music, while the boys are settling into a familiar routine with mom: Wake up, cry, eat, poop and sleep.
