Grace
I enjoy the peaceful life I’ve built, but when my brother arrives in town for work unexpectedly, I know my quiet routine will be shattered. To further complicate things, I know that his best friend—my ex—won’t be far behind.

Dallas Elliot made it clear to me long ago that he didn’t want a relationship. To prevent history from repeating itself, I plan to avoid the man who broke my heart.

Too bad fate has other plans.

Dallas
I’ve always known that Grace Slater was off-limits. She’s the only girl I broke my “no relationship” rule for, but I cut my losses before my best friend cut me out of his life.

The job we’re working shouldn’t involve Grace. It definitely shouldn’t have put her in danger. I vowed to keep her safe, no matter what. Keeping it professional won’t be a problem since she hates me.

Seeing her flustered when I push her buttons is just a perk of being around her…I’m just not prepared when she pushes back.

Torn by Grace by Eve L. Mitchell is a standalone featuring one of my favourite tropes - forced proximity.

Dallas and Grace’s story captivated me from beginning to end. I loved their history and detailed backstory, that made me want to know every secret.

Whilst they have history together, there’s so much more than that and this second chance romance explores all of it.

Dallas is Grace’s brothers best friend, meaning that even years later their attraction is still forbidden and Dempsey (best friend/brother) will try come between them once again.

However, Dallas has always been Grace’s protector…she just didn’t know it. But it’s time for him to step up and show her.

Eve L. Mitchell has written Dallas as an alphahole who you’ll want to add to your book boyfriend list and Grace was a relatable FMC who I connected with through every moment.

Oh and I forgot to mention that this story has some steamy scenes that are 🔥 and a twist that shook me. Along with knife twisting heartache and swoonworthy moments, that just enhance the emotion.

DNF 33% in

I don’t know why I kept continuing reading it I should have DNFed wayyy sooner. The H is the literal embodiment of waste man. And don’t even get me started on h brother. Or should I say foster brother. I don’t think I’ve ever been more irritated at a side character more than the h brother he just kept talking. Hes not a great brother even tho he acts like he is what kind of brother hangs around a man and also drags him to every family event knowing that his sister is gonna see this man who broke her heart. He tells his best friend that breaks the h heart the option to choose between him or his sister the H chooses the brother. That already was a red flag you should have dropped his ass the minute he said that. Not only that the brother knows how much the h hates the H but drags him along to meet up with the h years later after the whole situation what kind of family does that. Not gonna lie the brother pissed me off more that the H. I had to stop at the part where the brother tells the H to stay at her house just to be cautious and protect her which she absolutely will never agree on. Why can’t he protect why make the H that the h hates protect instead of her brother. I’m so glad every time someone mentions that he’s her brother she’s always like he’s not actually my brother he’s my foster brother as she should he doesn’t deserve to be an actual brother.

This book deserves a trigger warning ⚠️ a massive HUGE one !!! Which one ?? Well...WARNING this book will give you NO SLEEP!!!! That's the type of warning it needs because seriously I couldn't put it down....gripped me completely from the first chapter to the end of the last chapter....thank god for coffee because I'm gonna need a tonne of it today to get through life. The relationship between Dallas and Grace is unpredictable and a bit of a rollercoaster but holy moly when they get it together its on fire....throw in the relationship between Grace and her brother Dempsey....and then Dempsey and Dallas.....it definitely keeps you hooked and intrigued and drinking lots of caffeine!!!

Eve you're just amazing!!!!! I literally can not wait for the next book 😍

All Grace Slater wanted was to live a quiet peaceful life, which was actually how her life was going, until her brother Dempsey crash lands in the middle of her peaceful haven.
And if that isn’t enough, along came his best friend Dallas Elliott, with him. Which you would think would be fine, keeps Dempsey occupied, except as Grace’s ex, when he chose his friendship with Dempsey over Grace is didn’t end well.

This book takes us on a bit of a rollercoaster, there’s the unpredictable element, but also the chemistry between Grace and Dempsey is electric and spark’s definitely fly when they get it together!
This is a page turner from the outset, and you need to keep going to find out what happens next and believe me, Eve does not disappoint. It’s an easy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me.

❤️❤️❤️

This book is fantastic. Grace is fearless and stubborn. She has handled everything life has thrown at her. She works herself to the bone and is giving and carrying. When her brother and his best friend, Dallas, come into town, everything changes. Dallas has hurt her before, and the hate she has for him is so firm. I love them both. Dallas is not going to let anyone take advantage and hurt Grace again. She doesn't make it easy, and neither does Dallas. Dallas will protect her from her past. Even though he fights his feelings, together they are explosive and sexy and the tension is real. I loved this book and can't wait to see what's next in this series.

Torn By Grace is a must read. Grace and Dallas have a second chance at love. So many mixed messages and misconceptions. Sooo much drama and angst not to mention twists, turns, and things going sideways! I enjoyed reading Torn By Grace and could not put it down. Good thing I started reading it in the morning and I only had a lazy day to read it. It was the perfect distraction I needed. I was thrilled it captured my attention and held it from beginning to the end. Can’t wait to see what Eve L. Mitchell will release next. I already have my eye on The Ruthless Devils series to read while waiting on Eve’s next book. I highly recommend Torn By Grace and Eve L. Mitchell as an author. Happy Reading!!

Been waiting not so patiently for another Mitchell's book to be blessed with, almost felt starved; but this book? 'Twas definitely worth all the pining, patience and that anticipation. I love an angsty romance especially the one that takes years to develop, and that's exactly the case with this one. It's what captivated me the most about this story. I loved the palpable chemistry and the witty exchange of bantering between the MCs, Grace and Dallas. The prose is really beautiful and the supporting characters are so interesting and adds another dimension to the book. Now, I can't want enough for the next book in the instalment already and from the ending I just know that one will be angsty and forbidden af too!!

Dallas and Dempsey = yes please 🙋

From the first page I was glued. Eve has a way of creating characters that are memorable.. Dallas and Dempsey have taken top spots from the Devil's which is saying something.

I loved everything, from the plot to the characters- there is lots of potential for other characters to share their stories *cough Dempsey cough* 😉

Grace had the world on her shoulders and a run in with her foster brother Dempsey and his best friend Dallas at her work is not what she sees coming especially when she becomes involved in their work

Without giving much away if you enjoy
-enemies to lovers
-brothers best friend
AND spicy scenes 😉😉 Then this is for you!!!

Woah Grace

Hot and heavy with some sugar and spice…. I love this author she has yet to disappoint me. I won’t lie the thought of the strip club was off putting in the beginning but maybe I am just getting older and the thought of anyone working at strip club isn’t appealing. Other then that I loved it.

Unputdownable

Torn By Grace is a stand alone second chance romance book filled with all the greatness and drama we have come to expect from an ELM book. Dallas is the typical alpha-hole. You love to hate him. Hate to love him. Grace is a strong willed but exhausted heroine. Throw in a protective older brother into the mix and you’ve got a recipe for a sleepless night. Buckle in for a wonderful ride.

Torn By Grace - Eve L. Mitchell

This is a dual POV story following Grace and Dallas. Grace is an independent strong willed MC, she works 3 jobs and lives in a shitty apartment. Dallas works as a Bail Recovery Officer who ends up in the same town looking for a skip with Grace’s older brother Dempsey. Grace and Dallas had a fling in the past that was squashed by Dempsey.

If you love some mystery, enemies to lovers, second chance romance, strong MC’s and PLOT!! Give this a go. I’ll defo be picking up more of Eve Mitchell’s books😍

I absolutely loved this book! You can feel the tension between the fmc and mmc right from the beginning. He acts nonchalant towards her, while she is very standoffish due to the history between them. Of course things aren’t always what they seem. I love the dynamics between all the characters, especially as secrets start coming out making our fmc wonder why she was the only one who didn’t know. The storyline was phenomenal and had me hooked from the first page. I couldn’t put the book down. This author always consumes me with her words, and has me obsessed with the characters. She’s fantastic with world building and character development. I can’t wait for more!

TORN BY GRACE by Eve L Mitchell is a stand alone, contemporary, adult, erotic, romantic suspense story. This is waitress/server Grace Slater, and Bail Recovery Agent Dallas Elliot’s storyline.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Grace and Dallas) TORN BY GRACE focuses on the second chance relationship between Grace Slater and Dallas Elliot. Eight years earlier Grace’s brother Dempsey’s best friend Dallas Elliot broke Grace’s heart. Grace had been in love with her brother’s best friend for as long as she could remember but Dallas was forced to choose between Grace and his friendship with Dempsey, and Dallas walked away from our story line heroine. Fast forward to present day wherein Dallas and Dempsey, now working as Bail Recovery Agents, have returned home, looking for a skip but Dallas is about to come face to face with his past. Grace Slater is working several jobs, struggling in a way no one expected but she has no other choice than go it alone. When Grace’s past resurfaces, Dallas is the first to come to her aid, help Grace continues to refuse until it may be too late. What ensues is the rebuilding relationship between Grace and Dallas, and the potential fall-out as Grace must face her brother’s wrath; the man she once loved; her family’s dysfunctional relationships, and a past that is looking for revenge.

The world building sets the tone for the Slater family dynamics, and Dallas’ connection to our story line heroine. We are introduced to Grace’s co-workers, most of whom have no idea about her troubles but suspect there is something wrong.

The relationship between Grace and Dallas is a best friend’s sister/ second chance romance in which Grace battles between head and heart remembering the heart break and humiliation of Dallas’ rejection. Dallas is desperate to protect our story line heroine , both from her past and from herself, but Grace is often a little TSTL (too stupid to live), and refuses to listen to the man with whom she has fallen in love. The $ex scenes are provocative and intense.

TORN BY GRACE is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and revenge, abuse and power, forgiveness and love. The premise is emotional and heart breaking; the romance is seductive and fated; the characters are broken, desperate but determined.

I really love Eve L. Mitchell's writing style as she keeps me glued to the pages, and I felt that way with Torn by Grace. Grace is a girl whose life isn't going that great due to some mistakes she made, but I had serious respect for her as she got busy fixing it herself. She's working three jobs & barely has anything but I won't tell you why so you'll have to find out yourselves as learning the whole story kept me turning pages quickly. She's had a crush on her brother's best friend, Dallas, since she was a teenager, and they did enjoy each other quite a bit until her brother made him choose, him or Grace & he chose his best friend. See, that's where I had some issues because seriously, and I don't mean he chose his best friend but couldn't stay away from her, nope, he cut her out completely. They came to her neck of the woods for a job, and needless to say, they started messing her life up even more than it was, and I was so angry at them which had me back & forth about Dallas all the way to the end. See, I didn't like how he treated her so coldly even though they were perfect for each other under all the BS, so I'm still conflicted about him & her brother to be honest. I did love the fact that there were quite a few twists in this story to keep me turning pages quickly, and even a ton of secrets that don't make friends, however, I felt like those judging my girl for her secrets didn't have a leg to stand on but that's just me. I still read the story in one sitting because I was all in, and I am very excited for the next book as well so anything, that's all from me & I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

ARC Review of Torn by Grace by Eve L. Mitchell
* * * * *
A complicated brother's bestie and second chance romance, packed with secrets and drama and crazy man hunting our girl down.

Grace was lying to her family and working her butt off to make ends meet when one bad decision turned her life upside down. Three jobs, barely any money, her safety in questions...she does not need the trouble her brother brings or his best friend...the boy she loved.
The boy who threw her away for her brother.
Now they are both here, getting up in her life and the choices she makes, finding out her secrets and trying to get her fired.
Not only that, a danger from the past has come back for her.
Family secrets turn everything around, her brother is constantly at her back, and now after all this...Dallas is not planning on letting her go again.

Drama. Drama. Drama.
Grace really needs better taste in guys. First Dallas who picks his bestie over his girl, then a man who leaves her with a hunk of trouble to slave over day and night. Now it is back at Dallas. Think she can still do better, even if he makes her weak in the knees.
Dallas, my dude. I get bros be fore hoes, but still sucks my man.
Dempsy really is in full big brother mode, her can do anything he wants but is super protective of his sister. I would be scared for life seeing my little kid sis where she works. I thought he handled it very well...ish.
Tore right through this read and love coming back to this author. Her books fill my afternoons.

Torn By Grace is the first book I read by Eve L. Mitchell. This book is a brother's best friend, frenemies to lovers, and dark contemporary romance. It does touch on some dark themes, so read with caution. This book was an exciting and angsty read. The world the author created was captivating, original, and beautifully written. I thought the characters had crazy chemistry and were complex. I enjoyed the wit, banter, and attitude between all the characters. I laughed and cried throughout this book. I felt my stomach drop, and my heart flip flop a few times. I loved the action, suspense, mystery, spice, and drama it was nail-biting, face-fanning, and page-turning. I kept turning the pages to see what would happen next.

Grace was strong, determined, and a little lost. I could feel her tiredness and struggle. I felt sad and just wanted to hug Grace and tell her she was amazing for being so strong. Dallas was loyal to a fault, broody, and protective of his family and friends. He was very possessive of Grace, and I loved how they fought. I loved the push and pull of their story from the flashbacks to the present. Grace and Dallas were a powder keg just about to explode when they were around each other. I thought that the spice level was through the roof. The heat between Grace and Dallas melted off the pages.

I am so excited to read what this author brings us next. I am obsessed with the characters and the suspense of the storyline.- Brooke

I didn't believe in Dallas or Grace throughout this book. And I really didn't like hated her family. Her parents were terrible but the author seemed to think they were reasonable people and that her hurt and confusion was dramatics. They let their daughter go without hearing from her for almost a year and then tell her she should have called. As if phones don't work both ways and as if she didn't live a few hours away. I would have been on my kids doorstep if they were avoiding me, especially once I realized they weren't in school anymore and were clearly in trouble. How they kept putting her down and telling her she was a hot mess and didn't deserve Dallas was infuriating. The unforgivable lie that they told her about her "foster" brother, the making her room into a craft room without even discussing it with her were all emotionally painful to read. Her family was so selfish.

Dallas was callous and his choices didn't reflect well. They both should have found other people. But Grace should have found someone that absolutely put her #1 first and had in laws that embraced her.

Grace is working her butt off to make ends meet. When her brother Dempsey and his best friend Dallas show up it turns her whole world upside down. She has been in love with Dallas since she was 15. At 18 he broke her heart and since then they have a strenuous relationship. Dallas and Dempsey Best friends and Bounty Hunters, when they get a jump where Grace is, they don't know what she does for work and when they find out it makes them explod, but things for them become more complicated when her Dad becomes sick and they reveal a huge secret, and when her truth comes out it doesn't make it any easier, and the guy they are looking for is someone from the past it get even more complicated. Will Dallas be able to save her from her problems? Will she be able to tell them why she is I'm trouble? Can they both forgive what happened in the past? This book will give you all feels, emotions, twist, action suspense, and so much more. This is one book you won't to miss. Amazing read and can't wait to see what she has next.

the plot was good and interesting. A little bit of spice and some good ol brothers best friend enemies to lovers.

The ending was good and I’m glad Dallas and Grace finally got their HEA 8 years later.

Grace is strong and determined, and she loves living her peaceful life, until her brother comes into town unexpectedly, and she knows his best friend and her ex, Dallas, will not be far behind. Dallas is broody, loyal, and possessive, and when Grace is in danger, he will do whatever he must to protect and keep her safe. The chemistry between these two is combustible and undeniable, and they complement each other perfectly.
This is a well written story which is an action packed, emotional roller coaster, with angst, enemies / lovers, forced proximity, family, friendships, danger, secrets, humor, witty banter, second chances, romance, tension, twists, and love, which leads to an entertaining, unpredictable, and steamy page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Grace and Dallas shared some hot chemistry. Yet, that is when they did not want to fight each other. In the beginning, Grace still could not stand Dallas and Dallas was realizing Grace for the woman that she had grown up to be especially all her "curves".

The longer that Grace and Dallas spent in each other's company, their attraction grew. When they shared that first kiss! That is because I was anxiously waiting for the kiss due to the slow burn romance. Dallas called Grace "Buttercup", but I love Grace's nickname for herself better of "Hot and Saucy". It describes her best.

Mitchell is the queen of the slow-burn build-up! This book is no exception, but boy is the wait worth it...... I'll return to that in a minute!

Dallas is the boy we all knew growing up who looks/acts tough on the outside but is a big softie. Dallas has been in Grace's life for most of her life. He has been her source of pleasure, pain, and passion. However, his loyalty has always been to her brother from day one.

Grace is a lost soul trying to find herself in the world and find a passion that fills her need to help others. After a string of bad choices leads her down a dark road, she reunites with her brother and Dallas. What was once collides with what is now in a story that tugs at the heartstrings. Dallas struggles to realize that maybe Grace has always been his Northstar because she knows he has always been her true North.

When a matter takes her brother out of the picture, these two have an opportunity to focus on their relationship, and boy, do they take advantage. The spice in this book is probably Mitchell's hottest, and can I tell you that I was panting for it after that slow-burn? No disappointment here when the book climaxed ;). This is a world that we get to stay in for a while because we meet some fantastic characters who need a little love, a lot of luck, and someone rooting for them to find their HEA!

First time reading this author, definitely won't be the last. Dempsey and Dallas were like a comedy duo until they needed to lay down the law. Grace was like a lost soul who had been battered by life and bad decisions but the flame was still sparking for Dallas but it was never going to happen Dempsey was her brother. Amazing, loved it, the story just flowed. I voluntarily reviewed this book
