The Scentimentalist

This feels like comfort food, not exquisite but simple and pleasantly familiar. I find it surprisingly tenacious. Once I wore it to bed and in the middle of the night I woke up and wondered, what is that intoxicating smell?! Yup, it was Molinard Vanille.

Nibs

The scent is EXTREMELY weak, like others saying a body mist is better- I would not recommend this perfume.

LSAUG

I tossed this sample in for free to get free shipping on a decant order. My husband is a sucker for vanilla so I thought he might like me to try this. A surprising good vanilla at a reasonable price point. Smells exactly like jello brand vanilla pudding mix. This would be a good layering perfume or on its own. I'm not a big fan of this type of vanilla but I'm glad that I sampled it because I have lots of friends and family that would Love 💕 this one. Molinard Vanilla will be an excellent gift for quite a few loved ones come this Christmas season. If you like the smell of Vanilla pudding mix and like smelling like it this is a good way to go and you won't break the bank.

nakota

As all the reviewers have already said, this is linear and simplistic vanilla scent, powdery and bakery vanilla, close to the skin and a bit synthetic. It’s pleasant but disappears in an hour on me. I blind bought it and will keep it only to be my bed scent or to experiment with layering. Molinard’s Patchouli has eaten it up though.
To me it’s almost the same as Bare Vanilla body mist by Victoria’s Secret. I’d say that Bare Vanilla has better longevity and is cheaper.

km9699

Very linear but in a good way; it makes this scent ideal for layering. Smells exactly like adding a teaspoon of vanilla extract into cookie batter. Super cozy and sweet but not too cloying.

peachychuu

a spot on dupe of solinotes vanille! this vanilla is very straight forward, bright, sweet, almost juvenile. not a sultry or warm imo. but it is still delicious and comforting. I am loving it!!

Heartache

A blind buy for me as I am fond of vanilla scents. Most reviewers here a spot on , its very weak and I can barely smell it after half an hour. The actual smell to me is like vanilla essence that is used in baking. Not very sweet and somehow also synthetic. I found it quite disappointing. I doesn't dry down into anything better either. I would go so far as to say it's unpleasant. Not worth the $95 I paid for it.

resweetened

Excellent in every way. It's a straightforwardly delicious vanilla with a subtle complementary base that accentuates the delicious vanilla. Performance is outstanding. I gifted this at 8 am and it is 2 pm and vanilla is still pinging my nostrils from the lone spray I stole for my wrist. Feminine only in the sense that most men aren't going to want to smell like a marshmallow, but if you like vanilla I say go for it. You're not going to find a better vanilla for the money.

kkaattjjeess

To my nose this is way more similar to Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Extreme than Montale Vanille Absolu. Simple but gorgeous!

edit: Selling this as I don't reach for it much (UK).

i sprayed this on my skin before I went to sleep yesterday and it was still there when I woke up! i love it. a sweet and deep Madagascan vanilla that keeps vanilla simple and sweet. perfect.

RaggedyAnn

I could sniff vanilla all day. It can stand alone or layer with just about anything. That depends on what kind of vanilla. This one reminds me of the Watkins vanilla and Wilson buttercream icing recipe but short on confectioners sugar. Sits close to the skin but radiates a little dark and warm but not quite creamy enough for a creme brulee. I'm going to love this in the Fall and hope it will mesh with my Vanille Fruitee and give both a little more bouquet. This one deserves some recognition since it's so wearable and pleasant and thankfully missing the plastic doll smell (I know someone who only collects that very smell but I'm too old for that. lol) but anyway...really like it but still in love with my Sucre Noir.

fyre92

This is THE vanilla. Over ALL others. It smells real and very high quality. If it had the sillage and longevity of Tihota or vaniglia it would eclipse them both.

octobersun

This is a non complicated, edible, delicious, cuddly "love me, hug me" fragrance. A vanilla lover could easily wear it every single day, or layer it to add some sweetness to another scent.
I think I want it.

Huasa

I am a Vanilla person and always thought I'd love this perfume, when I finally got the chance to buy it... I didn't like it... First you can rarely smell it, it's hardly even there second it's not that good and it's not sweet. I actually liked the fruity one better cause well you can actually smell it and it's sweet but I wanted more vanilla... so I didn't like either one enough to purchase the bottle. So bummer

Vanille perfumes are on a thin line between beeing warm and deep or beeing sweet and flat. I don't like sweet, cloying vanille and Molinard Vanille just manages to stay on the save side, but only just. Reviews here are accurate, you are right, it is weak and it disapears in one hour. It is also very cosmetic smelling. Something stuffy flowery stays behind and disapears a well. The final impression is, that there is almost no vanille in a vanille perfume! Guerlain for me can do the vanille properly: warm, complex, deep, real, original. Vanille like a lyrical poem. Vanille with a story. Molinard Vanille is not in that category.

Jade-Ange D

Think of the most luxurious gastronomical vanilla pastry. Something so yummy that you'd still dream about it for years.
Litteraly exploring every aspect of vanilla. It is gourmand, sweet, warm and comforting. I wear it when I want to take my time around a coffee and some warm lights, during winter or any cold times.
If you don't want to be disgusted by this perfectly sweet scent, definitely don't wear it during a hot day, neither during summer, it can cause you nausea to smell something as gourmand as this scent.
Niche quality bottle and scent, It lasts during a long period of time.
One of the best vanilla extract I ever smelled in my entire lifetime, not sure that something will take the spot of the most vanilla-ish vanillas.

9/10 I feel like my skin is edible when wearing this mouth-watering scent !!

Catnipple

Literal vanilla extract. SO yummy! 🤤

LaLaPop75

The most simple vanilla fragrance I've ever smelled. Very natural. Sweet vanilla buttercream icing.

fairymeist

The smell of this is delicious but it literally does not last AT ALL, like at all. Complete waste of scent and money

Deutsch100

This is a very soft and sweet vanilla that can be worn alone, or used for layering. The problem I have is that even with 5+ sprays, I cannot smell it. I mean, I smell it the first min or two, and then it is a skin scent; an almost not there skin scent. Beautiful scent, with dismal longevity and near zero sillage.

SweetBriar

White Powdered
marshmallow

blackcatparfum

This is quite good but as others have noted there is almost a medicinal quality to it. I don’t mind that, but it doesn’t just strike me as linear vanilla as a result. It also does have that “cola” feeling others mentioned upon first spray but it quickly fades. Overall it’s pleasant but could I call this a love? No.

carmenandmonkey

When I first smelled it, it smelled like the white marshmallow of my dreams. Now it smells like 50% outremer Vanille and 50% dish soap...

Zethre

Candy sweet icecream vanilla. Nice vanilla note, with a lot of sugar. Almost no sillage. Skin scent

chrisk252

Nice, cozy, soft, natural vanilla. Fairly simple and linear. Faintly sweet but not overly so. Might be cloying in summers. I've never been a vanilla lover, tho I'm warming up to it, but this one is nice. It would work well as a layering fragrance for those who love vanilla.

It's August of 2022, but when it gets colder, I might try layering it with some of my more cold weather frags like Boucheron Jaipur or Gravitas Pour Homme, both of which have vanilla already. It's nice but not a bottle buy for me.

Scent: 7 / Sillage: 7 / Longevity: 7

Aisabelle

A classy, mature vanilla perfume, with a slightly spicy undertone. Not too sickeningly sweet, fake, or childish.

April338

two words to describe how this fragrance smells: carmex chapstick. If you think this is a simple vanilla you’re wrong it has a medicinal smell to it. Very weierd not the vanilla I was expecting.

nancy.france

Molinard has yet to impress me.
Ambre was disappointing and Vanille is not really making up for it.
The scent is vanilla-like but seems synthetic to my nose. Almost Too Perfumey.
I prefer the delicious sweet and cozy Outremer vanilla over this one at less than half the price.

lyka

vanille parfaite, chaude, sensuelle, réconfortante, sucrée, j'adore ce parfum qui a en plus une très bonne tenue et un sillage certain (appliqué sur les v^tements)
je le recommande sans hésiter

Nataliemarie

I love this, but it's light! I also have the above Montale VA, & CSP Vanille Extreme. It's different in it's on right than both, But for sure more like the Montale than the CSP. I've never met a Vanille I didnt like. My all time fave is Creed Sublime Vanille. Hopefully this lasts long in a soft way, b/c it's def a skin scent!

LanaDP86

The notes on the website include benzoin and vanilla flower as well as vanilla and vanilla pod.

S.pet

Upon first spray this smelled exactly like fruity pebbles which left me totally disappointed.. but I let it rest for a few weeks and decided to spray it directly on my skin rather than tester paper and was taken aback by the interesting smokiness. Not one I would recommend but I got it at a great price and am now embarking on layering it with other things to cut the sweetness. There are much better vanillas out there, but for the $30 I paid, I will figure it out.

MakeupNeverSleeps

I get a powdery, early '90s Yankee vanilla candle (modern candles are stronger and less waxy smelling). It's not sweet nor rich nor true gourmand. It's probably the softest/weakest vanilla that I've ever smelled, and this is coming from someone with a hypersensitive sense of smell (who prefers softer scents).

Gypsygal

Ive been enveloped in this scent all day long, I’m so pleased I bought a full bottle. It’s warm and inviting. Not the cloying type nor does it smell like a cakey/candy type. This is very sophisticated and evoking for the price and an excellent house. I’ve tested a few others from their line and they are all lovely and unique. High notes of balsamic. Very soft and a nice balance of creaminess. Just gorgoues! Bewitching!

Nurse Feratu

The opening smells a bit like cake batter, or novelty lip balm, but when it dries down becomes a beautifully soft, balsamic vanilla! It has a slight smokiness that makes me think there might be some benzoin in it.

SugarAndSativa

Like most people, the opening was a bit of surprise.

Especially for those like myself for who bought this blind, and assumed that it would be other vanilla scents in the past that were heavy, with a head-ache inducing sweetness.

I think someone else on this board mentioned that it smelled like cola on the first spray, and it does! I would go so far as to say that it tickled my nose a little bit, similar to what a good swig of overly-carbonated soda would.

There was a small moment of regret after the rather "carbonated" opening I experienced.

Granted, it is a rather linear scent. But it did morph a little bit as time went on. After the initial cola opening, it changed into a soft - yet slightly powdery vanilla. From there it turned into a warm, creamy caramel! YUM!!! The bonus? It was quite light.

The fact that it's not a sillage monster is a huge bonus. Especially if you have a hankering to wear vanilla to work, this would be an easy, inoffensive pick so as to not offend co-workers with more sensitive nostrils.

Plus, that purple bottle is gorgeous!

OntheMark

Very, very close to Vanille Patchouli, though I think I prefer the thyme-like herbal edge that makes the latter more interesting. Also bears considerable similarity to Al Rehab Choco Musk, minus the subtle hot cocoa powder accord.

Love the smell of this on a woman. On a man, I think it's more useful as a base to add sweetness and depth to a colder or more smoky scent.

sibaraa

A burnt vanilla extract smell. A twin sister to csp vanilla extreme edt.

Tessa03

Anyone know if this is the same as the round clear bottle (with copper colouring) ??? Made in same year .... notes on here appear quite different.... I went to Grasse and bought 2 travel size of Vanille ...loved them and ordered online a bottle of Vanille - the purple square bottle. They smell similar (if not the same) to my nose but was curious. I got tons of compliments when I wore the travel size Vanille, but none when wearing the one in the purple bottle. I thought they were the same but afer visting this page and reading reviews from the other vanille from Molinar, I am not so sure !

vlarya

There's something apricoty in it as well next to the super sweet vanilla.

It is very, very similar to Montale's Sweet Vanilla due to the apricot. I have a 5 "pure" vanilla perfumes in total, but this is the only one that is similar to Sweet Vanilla, the others are a different kind of vanilla.

malejandrabarros

I love Vanilla... I dont like this perfume I cant even smell it I dont get it... I cant smell it on my skin or in the tester. Just wierd. Ill just jeep on wearing my kenzo Amour.

Bubbles1964

A thin, transparent vanilla; sweet but not overbearing This is a vanilla you could wear in warm weather; not too heavy, not too light, it’s just right.

I don’t dislike his one, but it doesn’t feel finished to me. Of my samples from Molinard, its one of the least appealing. Even though no other notes are listed I was expecting to pick up on something....anything.....but no.....nothing but vanilla.

(I am getting over a cold, so maybe my nose is not detecting the nuances.)

mapache

Being on a "VANILLA" kick lately, I have tried quite a few vanilla fragrances from testers, samples and purchases. THIS....is almost my favorite!!!
Vanilla....with a touch of benzoin...creating...IMO...on my skin....a slightly boozy vanilla dream.
Linear...???...Yes. Moderate sillage/longevity..???..Yes. Do I care...???...NO !!!
LOL....a great vanilla scent for me....Bravo !!!
Why did I wait for so long on this one...??!!

craftymaya

This perfume is a joke: opens with a blast of alcohol and then NOTHING or almost nothing! or I got a bad bottle that is returning now...

grazzia

Sugar, sugar, how you get so fly?

Years ago I had a bottle of Alyssa Ashley's Vanilla. I wore it during my first year in college and it was the perfume that started my obsession with sweet scents and vanilla note in particular. This perfume instantly reminded me of those good old times and I absolutely adore it.

The Vanilla is very sugar-ish and candy-like, slightly artificial, but not cloying. I hoped for some darker notes, since it is presented as unisex perfume. However, Molinard's Vanilla is lovely and feminine scent that lasts between 3-4 hours. Not overpowering and it stays close to my skin.

My profession includes working with children and I have never before received so many compliments on a perfume. They say I smell like cotton candy and cake. :)

PS: The bottle is beautiful.

Tigidy101

I'm a big fan of vanilla. I've been looking for something similar to Perry Ellis black vanilla absolute. I love it's mature, boozy, masculine take on vanilla without all sorts of weird notes added to make it more "interesting.". Just a mature, masculine, plainish vanilla.

Well, this is not it. It says for men and women but it's awfully sweet for men. Don't get me wrong, it smells great! A somewhat powdery, sweet vanilla absent of the aforementioned "interesting" notes. As a vanilla lover, I love just smelling it and sometimes spray it as an air freshener in my bedroom. But it is very feminine with that cupcake sweet take on vanilla. Even though I can't really use it because it's too sweet, that doesn't mean it's cheap. No, no. This smells high quality and has a real depth to it that cheap fragrances don't have. It's deep and rich, very rich. I still have a use for it, actually. I mix it (half, light spray!) with other cologne with vanilla base notes, like my Tummy Bahama St. Bart s for example. The vanilla base note in it is kind of slight (to me anyways) so just a half spray of this mixed in sets off the vanilla. Except for the holidays, I'm not sure I'd wear this by itself as it really is just too sweet.

UnOiseauRebel

Take cake-mix-from-a-box powdery sweetness; add a little smoke and a pinch of earth. Bake at body temperature for approximately 3 hours. Bask in Madagascan vanilla heaven and smile.

arwenivy77

A delicious warm vanilla gourmand, sweet but not cloying. Creamy with some caramel and white chocolate notes. It reminds me of a vanilla body spray from Bath & Body Works that I had in the 90's. I had to use a lot of this to be able to feel like it wasn't fading off me right away. Scent stays close to the skin on me--very low sillage. This could just be my chemistry, though; my sister sprayed it on her wrists and I could smell it on her all evening. I love this, but since I need to use a lot to be able to smell it on myself, I have a feeling I'll be going through it very quickly. Good thing it's a big bottle.

Neckromancer

Interesting scent. It's a good plain-ish vanilla, but it's not perfect. When you smell it close up, it smells a bit like black/burnt rubber. It's not that it's watery/bitter like cheap vanilla scents, but it smells like a particular type of plastic or even asphalt. Other things I'd compare it to is burnt candle wicks or the black Mr.Sketch scented marker. I wouldn't call it a powdery vanilla though. From far away, it smells a little like a vanilla candle...it's quite gourmand, but not cloying. I think I might be a little anosmic to it actually, but I'm a little anosmic to Hypnotic Poison as well, and from what I've heard, Hypnotic Poison is cloying to many others.

Edit: Ooh, this actually is pretty long lasting, but sillage is not the best. It does become more powdery as is dries down, but in a sweet, non-irritating way. I enjoy it.
