Absolutely different perfume from the 80's progenitor", my mother used it and I remember its scent very well... its enormous trail, Gocce di Napoleon which I remember was wonderful, more spicy, very fresh on the opening and rather green, almost woody if you like , of course they were other times, other fashions but I found it fantastic, as soon as my mother wore it I filled my nose with this woody/earthy scent, almost as if I felt the sensation of a wet forest in the early morning! I purchased it recently and I found it different, much more "lightened" if we want..... almost as if I wanted to change its original structure. I realize that over 30 years have passed and that it is difficult also for reasons of respect for rules and laws (many components in perfumery have been banned) to continue producing a perfume as it was created in its period... but it is a shame to change his identity. It resembles Gocce di Napoleon but the progenitor was something completely different

My favorite fragrance from the 80s. I was very small, but I was already very sensitive to fragrances and this was the most mysterious of all.
Obviously, the version I find in stores now is a poor reformulation of the original one, and it's a shame because even though I still love it, I'll never be able to wear it, the dry down Is so bad.

It's too strong for me but it's better after few minutes, good for matur women.

I am absolutely irritated at the poor translation which is being displayed in the perfume's description. By no means the word 'goccia' is related to tears. And I see another Member has already pointed out the real meaning of the name.
Would you mind correcting the mistake?

I have funny childhood memories about this perfume😂My mum hated it but every year for Christmas or Valentines day she received it from my dad. She always expressed her hate but dad always forgot it and bought her again until, after about 10 years mum had emotional breakdown and screamed and cried too much because of this perfume. I thought my dad since then how to choose beautiful gifts for her. Now she is happy.... I didn't smelled it as a child, I just listened mum defining it as urine_like odour, alcoholic and church _like incense and sage.... When adult I smelled it and I found it sharp, pungent, with unisex notes, very vintage, interesting. I always detected also an indolic component in this scent, it gives its muskiness the impression of animalic musk. The herbs combination, balsamic,a humid antique rose, Creating sensation of cumin and chamomile popping up that indolic suggestion. A classic scent, for vintage collection at the price of a deodorant or less.

I didn’t smell it for a while so I have no idea if it has been reformulated since -
In Italy it’s one of the icons of the 80’s , almost every elegant middle class woman got it.
It was very elegant and nostalgic perfume , I can’t tell the notes but it’s a classic perfume and always loved it. Almost every woman in my family wore it included me. I’d like to buy a bottle .. even if I’m pretty sure it’s not gonna be exactly the same as most perfumes from that incredible era

Много интересен аромат, можеше да бъде ниша. Още го проучвам.

What a gem! Found this very cheaply at a perfume shop around Naples. Never heard od this brand but was intrigued by the box. When I smelled it I was in love.
I smell lavender, leamon, leather and after the drydown this turns into a sexual hiacinth and peach floral. You can catch hints of minth and basil as well. Very fresh and almost masculine scents. Not sweet at all, its crisp, green, and balsamic. Smells very niche to me, longevity moderate to strong. I find it a bit overwhelming to apply directly on skin, I think this is the perfect scent to spray in the air and walk into after a shower. Very fresh and mature without being sweet.

That's a big one! A fragrance that costs a few tens of euros but that is worth at least hundreds. NO, NO JOKE! It is one of those fragrances that stands out from the rest. Neither leathery nor fruity but EARTHY! One of the best earthy,I would add. It can be easily unisex. The balsamic / musky / earthy notes are predominant, indeed, they are the only ones that you can smell beacuse citrus and fruits are almost non-existent. Gocce di Napoleon is an olfactory poem, A melody orchestrated to perfection. I completely fell in love. I've been in existence since 1979 and I find it only today. OLFACTORY FABLE!

The name "Gocce" means "rain drops" not "tears" and Napoleon was an old brand of Morris.

This is my first absolute fragrance ( 14 years old). I loved it. I think it's green floral not oriental floral!

GOCCE DI NAPOLEON does not, as its name might suggest, smell like pure, uncut testosterone but is instead a unique floriental perfume with initially dominant notes of hyacinth and rhubarb—or reasonable facsimiles! There is definitely a strong hyacinth scent and a rhubarbish green yet ever so tangy and crunchy quality in the opening of this composition—whatever may really account for these scents, I like them a lot. GdiN becomes more oriental and dark in the drydown, with diminished florality and the emergence of what appears to be pepper and possibly a touch of leather along with some sort of dark wood.

What I do not find here at all is anything at all very sweet: and no vanilla, in particular. Although the opening seems somewhat feminine to me, the drydown becomes far more masculine, as though Napoleon arrived home after one of his military adventures to usurp Josephine of her domestic authority. The servants suddenly turn all of their attention to the little emperor, ignoring the fair lady of the house. I like both the Josephine and the Napoleon phases of GOCCI DI NAPOLEON and would happily wear this perfume, if I had a bottle.

I found a sample of Gocce di Napoleon, and I couldn't agree more with sofiapap and Action. It is really green, and there is quite a lot of lavender, but fortunately it is softened by citrus notes and flowers since lavender doesn't like me. I can smell a hint of basil, too. It is really herbal and green, but that doesn't mean it is sharp. It's long lasting and has got a wonderful base.

Action

I finally have this perfume now!! It is actually a very green perfume, green chypre!!
