Zenne by Nishane is a Amber Floral fragrance for women and men. Zenne was launched in 2017. The nose behind this fragrance is Jorge Lee. Top notes are Black Currant, Rhubarb and Grapefruit; middle notes are Turkish Rose, Gardenia and Sandalwood; base notes are Vanilla, Ambergris and Musk.

“For the collection named as “SHADOW PLAY” launched in 2017, NISHANE has got the main inspiration from the traditional shadow play which is also known as shadow puppetry, an ancient form of storytelling and entertainment which uses flat articulated cut-out figures (shadow puppets) which are held between a source of light and a translucent screen or scrim. The cut-out shapes of the puppets sometimes include translucent color or other types of detailing. Various effects can be achieved by moving both the puppets and the light source. A talented puppeteer can make the figures appear to walk, dance, fight, nod and laugh.

KARAGOZ (meaning “black eye” in Turkish) and HACIVAT (shortened in time from "Hacı İvaz" meaning "İvaz the Pilgrim"), ZENNE (the common name of the generally beautiful and flirty women featuring in various plays) are the lead characters of the traditional Turkish shadow play, popularized during the Ottoman period and then spread to most nation states that comprised the Ottoman Empire and most prominently in Turkey and Greece. The creative directors Mert Güzel and Murat Katran dreamed of bringing the legend of Karagoz & Hacivat into the today’s world. Under the inspiration of their playful characters, the perfume trilogy has been created together with the perfumer Jorge Lee. Just like the theme of these shadow plays, the main objective of NISHANE was to emphasize the contrasting interaction of the people that we can see in every single culture.

HACIVAT is a tribute to elegance, competence, and love of art.

ZENNE is a tribute to beauty, self-confidence, and flirtation.

KARAGOZ is a tribute to wittiness, straightforwardness and sincerity” — press release of the brand.

Opens a little sharp but the dry down is lovely. A bright splashy scent, well-balanced with an inviting vanilla on the tail end. Great perfume but nothing particularly memorable here for me. Fwiw my husband said it smelled like soap but "not in a bad way."

*loves_shoes*

Fruity (tart) and light floral (can’t detect individual floral notes even the rose) sandalwood and strong vanilla.
Projects amazingly well.
Smells delicious.
Suitable for all occasions, blind buy safe if you like a strong sweet fragrance.

PS The tart sour (blackcurrant or grapefruit?) edge wears off completely after an hour and it becomes smoother, woodier and creamier.

blondeamber

Unfortunately I do not like this perfume. Positive things first: it’s fruity, creamy and natural smelling. There is a freshness to it that makes me think of water ice or growing fruits covered in morning dew. But unfortunately the negative thing is that underneath that fresh and creamy fruitiness, I pick up a strong animalic note that just doesn’t go away. Straight up cat pee/poo. Don’t know if it’s caused by the combination of blackcurrant and ambergris. Normally I like blackcurrant in fragrances and the same applies to ambergris, but I know blackcurrant can smell like cat pee to some people and ambergris is, yea well, ambergris.

Edit: it’s the ambergris. I had the same experience with Misiarte and that one has ambergris and fruits/citruses, but no blackcurrant. Usually I have no problem with ambergris at all.

clemmy

If you want one niche happy fruity perfume go for this. It is very balanced with tartness of rhubarb and sweetness of vanilla. Upfront and In between the happiness of red fruits and the quality dry down of musk and sandalwood. Fruity and classy, not teenage vibes. Office safe, a bit cheeky, good blind buy. Recommended 4/5

If you know anything about Nishane, they aren't exactly a perfume line of the subtle or quiet...and Zenne definitely lives up to it 🥰.
Zenne--- IMPO,She's that bold, vocal, daring older sister or aunt...hell...she's the mature strong independent woman.
I inferred to the female gender, because this is very sweet, floral and powdery...notes quite pronounced and likely not for most guys looking for something leaning more masculine(i.e. strong leather/tobacco).
"Mature"...this definitely is not a juvenile scent of simple sugar and candy notes (ie. Pink Sugar)...don't get me wrong...this perfume is SWEET.
Anyhow, spray sparingly..2 is more than enough IMPO,another beautiful hit from the house of Nishane !

JamesGamez

I was obsessed with this perfume. I wore it basically everyday.
It’s a sweet, tart, fruity, green, vanilla scent. This is a fragrance you wear when you want to make a statement.
I stopped wearing it after a family member told me it smelt like pee :/….

But, I was going through all of my decants and came across this. After MONTHS of not wearing this I decided to wear it to bed and fell in love all over again. It doesn’t smell like pee to me so that’s all that matters lol.

Powerfulpatchouli

Zenne is your elderly Persian Aunt with dyed jet black hair and way too much Kohl around her eyes. One spritz of this is enough to have her arrive unannounced at your door. Dressed in a blood red cashmere wrap and holding a jar of her home remedy paste for your rash of dubious origin.

Halian

A perfume that evokes cheerfulness and liveliness, the opening can be too sweet for some (almost bubble gummy), but the drydown is pleasant with a hint of sweet sour grapefruit underneath. The ingredients feel natural and authentic, and Nishane rarely do synthetic.

Closer to skin, you can detect the rosiness that is round and not stinging to your nostrils. The floral aftermath makes it overwhelmingly feminine, which won't sit well for those who are looking for a manly aura. I wear this to sleep and it does calm me down.

svdwdsn

Creamy, sweet tangy tarty fruits, slight musky on my skin. Delicious. Fruity but not in a young childish way, this is sexy matured lady fruity fragrance. I live in a humid tropical country, this last forever on my skin & also projects so much but i normally only wear this at night when the temperature is lower.

nepria

Amazing perfume! Just amazing! I love love love how fruity notes are here presented, not in a juvenile but in a very sexy way! The dry-down is just epic! I don't know why the dry down reminded me a bit of Burberry - My Burberry Black, but it did not in a scent way, but in the VIBES you know :D The Vibes are truly sexy.
I guess people may see the notes and think this is a perfume for summer, but oh no no no no no... This is just epic during colder days! AMAZING! The rhubarb notes just takes you to another level of luxurious fruitness. It is sweet don't get me wrong but omg this sweetness is just amazingly blended, not in a cheap way, but in this deeper, seductive, VIP kind o way. Outstanding perfume.
Unique, brilliant, amazing, captivating!!!!
Love love love. FBW for sure!

So sweet that I feel tooth aches. And never fades.

Femme, sweet rhubab base. Rose 🌹 overtone. Subtle vanilla mmm. Mature while being youthful. Nice one.

Update 8/05/23...
3rd Impression lol - This is growing on me. I find myself thinking about it sometimes and wanting to smell it. It almost smells like it could be a Designer fragrance but this smells very full-bodied for a fruity-vanilla fragrance. The rhubarb adds just enough tang to the mix to make it not so cloying. Although I can see some people thinking this is cloying. But it is addictive and juicy. The vanilla helps make it more a rounded floral-gourmand too. I may need me a bottle...

(Original Post:)
FIRST IMPRESSION:

This smells completely feminine to me. I couldn't imagine a masculine person wearing this, but of course - you do you. This would smell delicious on man or woman because it is just that type of scent. And even though I like it, I'm not sure I want to smell like this myself. But I'm also only a few moments in, so take it all with a grain of salt.

I first smell fruit bubble gum. The gum note passes for the most part, but still left with tart fruit on a bed of musk. It smells good I guess, but I want something more. I am hoping this develops into something fantastic. It kind of reminds me of a Tiziana T frag atm... and the more I smell it the more I enjoy it. But I'm still not sure if I would love to own a Full-size Bottle??...

Will come back once I have worn it & have fully formed thoughts. So far it reminds me of Nishane doing their version of a "mass appealing fruit" fragrance. And the fruit reminds me of Carolina Herrera Very Good Girl - or is it Blush? Whichever one has the red berries note in it. Very similar to THAT fruit note.

Been about 10 minutes or so and I am getting more of the vanilla with the fruits & musk. This smells good! I keep wanting to smell it more. That's a good sign. But I don't think this is groundbreaking and not sure it is "special" enough, although I haven't smelled anything JUST like it. I wonder if I would get sick of this though. It seems more simple & linear than I'm used to from Nishane.

The Wolf

Someone below me described this perfectly.
"A cold whipped wateriness, creating a really icy vibe" That's exactly how I perceive it after top notes die off. It smells watery but also aerated in a way, almost like whipped cream. Performance is stellar due to high concentration like all Nishane scents.

Scent 8/10
Performance 8/10

aabisogun

It's a nice scent in general but my goodness, what an overload of vanilla. after this initial assault, the grapefruit and rhubarb begin to come through, making the scent less nauseating, and actually quite pleasant.
The scent definitely leans feminine, due to its floral tones. I think it will be great once I layer it with a leather or tobacco scent.
Interesting that Karagoz and Hacivat, 2 of my favourites, are part of the same collection.

Update: wore this today and I have grown to like it. Lasted all day long, and the vanilla overload no longer seems overwhelming.

Oh my god I am crazy about this one.
I have never been obsessed with a perfume this much and if I could choose a perfume to wear it till the rest of my life it would be Zenne.
Zenne is “bitter”-sweet seductress but it’s not obvious at first. She plays with you, she’s innocent and the next moment she’s nasty and it goes on and on. She awakens your senses.
It’s unisex but more on a feminine side and lasting power is amazing. I sprayed one spritz on a wrist and fell asleep and when I woke up I could still feel it.

LizzieBiscuits

I'm a costume maker who principally works with drag queens so how could I not try "Zenne"?
It's gorgeous but oh so sweet, not something I would reach for often. Longevity and silage are great. I wish it had a bit more sass and bite, this Zenne is a little goodie-two-shoes.

dhcoalition

Zenne has that Nishane vanilla that I find so alluring. I wish it was toned down a bit here but this is marketed as a primarily femme fragrance. There's a nice mixed berry tangy note that helps to offset the sweetness. In the drydown I get primarily a vanilla and indistinct green note like freshly trimmed hedges. That may not sound pleasant but it is. Vanilla is still too dominant and if it was more restrained it would skew more unisex.

Happypiggy84

This is an incredibly sexy femme scent. It’s that skin tight red dress that’s almost too revealing. There’s a nice tang from the berries, some green to keep it from going too sweet with an amazing smooth sugary vanilla in the dry down.

raqketa

zenne is beautiful. cotton candy esque fruity florals over an amber vanilla base. juicy, pretty, flirty, feminine, and just the right amount of sultry. she’s right up my alley and i enjoy her! 🥰

toosimilar

"Drag queen" in Turkish
I wonder if anyone checks the names & stories behind the items from their perfumery wardrobe :)

aflakes

This smells like a high end spray deodorant for women.

RottigrlNYC

You’d think that from all the beautiful notes that this perfume would smell amazing but no, it’s just nice, smells like so many other fruity florals I have . It’s a shame, it could have been a great one, but perfumer choose to take the boring safe route .

Mdk

I love Zenne.
The opening is as sweet as cotton candy with rhubarb sourness.
After a while the cotton candy is replaced by roses accompanied by patchouli. Patchouli? It may be sandalwood. There is no patchouli in the notes, but I feel it is patchouli.
And this middle note reminds me of Frédéric Malle's Portrait of a Lady.
But Portrait of a Lady is a more accomplished woman. Elegance with perfect sophistication and a loneliness that can't go any further.
Zenne is younger. She's still raw and uninhibited, with great ambition and charm.
The last note is a sweet and bewitching thin layer of musk and ambergris. It lasts like a thin veil of musk. I sprayed this in the morning and noticed this musk veil lasted until evening when I showered.

I didn't get the impression that Zenne was sweet or fruity.
She definitely has her sweetness and fruitiness, but what struck me was the unsweetened Turkish rose, sandalwood and musk.

Ninamariah

“ZENNE is a tribute to beauty, self-confidence, and flirtation.”

Female leaning

“Inspired by the female character in the traditional shadow puppetry, ZENNE will teleport you to the enigmas of the paradise gardens full of joy and romance with a deliberate mix of the fruity and floral accords along with vanilla, ambergris and musk at the base.”

This interesting and delicious scent opens up with fruity notes of Grapefruit, Rhubarb and Black Currant and that mix luckily remains longer than top notes usually do. That is because Nishane uses synthetic molecules which make the notes not only last longer but make a sillage more potent as well. The floral heart of Turkish Rose and Gardenia joins and mingles with the fruits but in overall the blend continues being mouthwatering and juicy yet elegant and sensual. Sandalwood makes the blend soft, a little bit milky (not creamy)and even if it’s rich there is even aromatic nuances in the blend. The base of Vanilla, Ambergris and Musk brings a warm and slightly powdery very pleasant touch without being too sweet.

This is so alluring and voluptuous perfume with enormous projection and longevity. I feel youthful, lively and inviting while wearing this. This is really mellow and potent juice. Zenne is suitable to wear year around because of how it has been built, there is a depth and warm enough for colder days even if it’s floral fruity. I think that this is quite underrated and it has stayed literally in the shadow of another scent from the Shadow Play Collection, very popular Hacivat.

Sniffathon

This is just okay. I wanted to like it as the notes sound beautiful but it’s very sweet and tart which is not my cup of tea. Overall though, it is composed well and balanced and high quality as expected. For a feminine Nishane, I prefer and love Hundred Silent Ways.

NoMilkToday

It smells like Eilish to me, but even sweeter, which is too much for me. Eilish projects nicely and i think it has a beter longevity than this one (i only tried it in a store, but it hasn't lasted more than few hours on my wrist). It's a nice scent, but far too sweet for me and in my opinion not worth all that cash.

I need to rave about this perfume for a sec.. it’s so unique and from reading reviews it sits a bit different on everyone’s skin.

On me it’s not very sweet or powdery. It’s this beautiful tart rhubarb, with a photorealistic vanilla in the base. If you’ve ever baked with rhubarb: it smells like you just snapped a fresh stalk in your kitchen while standing next to an open bottle of vanilla extract.

I love layering it with Wulong Cha for a seriously tart/bright green scent.

Clairexoxo

I only like the fresh opening. Not a fan of the dry down. It’s not a bad scent by any means, but it’s not my cup of tea. Too many things I dislike are combined here: the rhubarb is tart and almost bitter, I get green accords, and I detect the ambergris. No, no, no. But if you like all these things, Zenne has the merit to be well blended and with good performance in my opinion. On the flip side, I oddly smell a small resemblance with Hundred Silent Ways (which I LOVE)... I think it’s the mix of vanilla and gardenia which creates this sweet white floral note (almost has a bubblegum-ish edge??) that is stronger in Hundred Silent Ways.
Essentially, Zenne is a fruity vanilla with distinct green and tart accords, it has an ambergris undertone and a sweet white flower edge.

Olааа_la

My first honestly earned money as a child was received precisely for picking blackcurrant berries at grandma garden. Currant is absolutely definitely not my favorite berry, but as a scent it is very warming and brings back pleasant memories.
I also have One umbrella for two, which are very similar to Zenne, they both about currant pie. But my hand much more often reaches for Zenne, because the green accord of rhubarb adds a jewelry balance to the composition.

Catmo

I have many Nishane fragrances and this is probably my favorite. Very underrated. You definitely get some tang from the rhubarb and florals then something that comes off almost slightly spicy or green in the background. It's very unique and not like anything I've smelled before.
I saw some comments comparing to La Belle which it smells absolutely NOTHING like. It's only moderately sweet, whereas La Belle is very sweet (imo.)
I think this would be best in Spring, maybe Fall.

Bordo

A truly unique scent. Based on notes alone, I brought it blindly, in hopes that it would smell like Herve Gambs - La Baie Des Anges, which is a truly delicious blend of tart rhubarb and ice-cream vanilla, just with more lasting/sillage power. But I was disappointed, the rhubarb was not as prominent and so was vanilla. It is more green, less sweet, more earthy and animalic. Very nice, unique, close to skin scent, with gresh rhubarb greenness /bitterness, vanilla far in the base and too animalic for me. Lasting power is decent though, despite the sullage being not that powerful. Sad that I did not like it as much as I hoped...although it certainly has some addicting qualities :)

mellomell30

Smells entirely too powdery on me. It's sweet and I want to smell the fruit, but sweet baby powder is all I smell. My boyfriend, and son agree that it smells like soap. Not a bad fragrance, but it certainly doesn't smell the same on everyone. Not a safe blind buy if you expect to smell fruity.

Farrque

Redcurrant, dewey grass, lily of the valley, tuberose (may be another powdery floral combined with white musk) and a chalky note I can't pinpoint.
If you can handle the big, sweet cloud of the "tuberose" note then this is a fun, fruity scent. The green touches saves it from being overly sweet on my skin.

Edit: 1 hour in and it's transformed into a white musk and caramel focused scent, albeit with a that crisp, green profile lingering in the background.
Pleasant but too sweet for me.

Virginialikesperfumes

Wow I hated this. I purchesed decants of several Nishane fragrances, with high hopes for this one in particular, but it smells majorly bug spray like on my skin. Sad day. :(

Sophia97

Omg this is absolutely stunning! So unique I don't think I've smelled anything like this before. It's bright, strong, sweet , fruity, and delicious.

Saraljo

I can not understand why this is not more hyped.

Zenne is beautiful! Fruity vanilla and sweet but not in any way juvenile. This scent is seductive, sexy and cozy. While still being fresh.

On me it lasts 10h with ease during winter in Sweden, I'm yet to try it in warmer weather. Lasts better than hundred silent ways and I like the dry down better on Zenne.

This is by far my favorite female from nishane. 100% worth a try!

Kdsosassy

An unexpected like for me. I get a fruity watery scent from this that lasts forever. I wore this on a cold night, and the cold whipped the wateriness around, creating a really icy vibe. I think it would be phenomenally refreshing for summer. It’s one of those rare scents that creates an experience for me. I love those.

Infevo

Meh. It reminds me mostly of baby powder which I also associate with a fresh poop. I get some Hundred Silent Ways but maybe because I have smelled it so much recently. Other than that this is ok.

JamesGamez

In the opening it’s a blast of fresh fruits. Then once it begins to dry down the fruitiness goes to the background, and the green notes, vanilla, and rose really come to the front. It also turns a bit creamy. I can see why some people may get an incense vibe in the dry down but it’s not overpowering.
This is so good. Can’t wait to get a FB.

fauxmantis

I really hoped to like this one but it has a strange cigarette or incense undertone to it. Lost In The City by Miller Harris was a much better rhubarb find for me.

Elodiecostin

Smells EXACTLY like La Belle JPG with an added savoury note, really nice but I won’t purchase a full bottles as I already have La belle

QueenieIrenie

As interested as I was in trying this, part of me thought: how different/unique can a fruity vanilla floral fragrance be? Seems like everyone is making them these days.

How wrong I was! This is indeed a fruity vanilla, but with not a lot of florals, and this is a fresher take, both figuratively and literally. It is quite green, almost herbal, in the opening and then the fruit and vanilla notes come out more, but it still remains fairly green. There is rhubarb and grapefruit, making it slightly tart, but rhubarb is not used the same way here as it is in Delina.

Overall, this is a very sophisticated fruity vanilla fragrance that smells like nothing else I have tried.

fauxmantis

I want to love this so badly but it comes off as kind of smoky to me? Incense-y maybe?

I can only smell this for 5 min after applying and then i am anosmic to it mostly. What i do smell, i really like it! It is very different and unique. I am going to keep trying it in different temps and maybe i will smell it more sometime soon.

Update: im wearing this again today. I can smell it more this time, i do get a tartness and floral. It definitely isnt sweet. I think i oversprayed before and made myself anosmic. I like this but i like hacivat and ani better.

2whit2quit

I like Zenne because it smells just like a type of incense I often burn.
I bought this over the summer and loved it, but it faded quickly in the heat. Now that the weather is cooling, Zenne has been performing beautifully on my skin. The juicy top notes really get their time to shine rather than disappearing into the summer air. This is going to be my fall signature. Also, layer this with Ani and talk to me later...

nkapped

One of the more underrated releases from the house of Nishane and frequently eclipsed by her brother Hacivat in the Shadow Play collection, this is a beguiling scent that's not to be trifled with. She quickens your pulse with a tantalising yet tart mix of rhubarb, blackcurrant and grapefruit. She slowly leads you into a charming heart of rose and vanilla before settling down to a bed of sandalwood and musk.

Fruity and floral, milky and musky, salty and sweet - Zenne is a nuanced and alluring creature that seems to spread her wings in all directions but holds you captive in her soft, feathered grip.

rosesfromars

When I smelled the sample I imagined myself in some luxurious restaurant, having dinner with my man, on a winter day.
Creamy, dreamy, not citrusy for me.. Spicy vanilla and florals, yummmmy...
Leans towards masculine side at the beginning but after 15 mins you can smell it becoming soft and feminine.
Longetivity with one spritz on my skin is 8-10 hours.
Projection is good also

Vannamae__

I’m not sure what happened but I bought a sample and loved it only to buy a full bottle and hate it. Yes it’s authentic. I ended up returning it to the store thankfully but how disappointing. I became very sick of this fragrance fast. At first it was that lovely sweet fruity smell then I got more of the green aspects and I’m not a fan of green scents. I asked my guy for this opinion and he told me I smelled like sweet grass or moss and something else he couldn’t explain Ugh lol but I got that too. I wouldn’t say it’s a green fragrance though which I know sounds confusing but I am confused. Something in this is off putting to me, let’s just say that. I wore it for another hour to see if my opinion would change back into what I initially thought of it but I ended up applying another perfume over it because it was bothering me so much and even then I could still smell it so it performs well, that’s a plus, if you like this that is lol. Another reviewer mentioned an underlying barnyard smell and I seriously picked up on that as well. I couldn’t discern it at the time but once I read their review it made sense. It has a bit of an animalic touch and I guess that’s not really my thing, at least in this composition. It’s not smooth and things feel muddled together. Maybe the sample I had, had been mascerating for awhile and thus smelled sweeter than my newer bottle? Not sure but all I know is I didn’t want to wait to find out and had to get my money back asap. Not a safe blind buy.

Overall I like the opening but I find it to be confusing to describe or discern, not a well blended scent and an obnoxious fragrance. The review about the prostitute comparison made me laugh but also, he’s not wrong.

minaminamina

I'm into my 3rd bottle, I wish there was a 100ml.

This is tart, red fruits rubbed into my skin by mighty hands. Long red strokes along my back. Rhubarb and grapefruit accentuate the edginess of this uncompromising ensemble. Thank god for the vanilla that gives some body and comfort to this raw jam. I love it. Took me some time to get it. At times it seems cheap almost trashy. It's like waking up after a loud party. You look at yourself in the mirror, your hair is a mess, and the eyeliner is half missing, but there is something beautiful about the look in your eyes and your lips are plump.

Zoffe

Beautiful. Fruity vanilla in a classy, grown up way. Rhubarb is the main player in the opening but rather quickly settles to a soft, pleasant vanilla with fruity touches. Very well blended, it's hard for me to pick out the individual notes. Not sure it's special enough for a full bottle for me, but I'm definitely enjoying my sample.

scholar1

beautiful sexy flirty and can be worn to an office setting as well as to a party vibe. I did both!
Love that spicy citrusy opening which stuck around on me for at least 1-2 hrs before the other warmer scents started to kick in. Longevity is amazing as I smelled it on my skin the next morning!! To me it has a slight boozy touch to it in the dry down.
I absolutely love this.

coffeefifofum

Sweet, vanilla, fruity, musky, and tart in that order. All combined it gives me a bit of a pie contest at church scent. Too much going on and it's not disharmonious but it's also not something I'd go out of my way to smell.

Divinest

Not citrusy. Definitely not aromatic. And certainly not green.

The best direct comparable in terms of profile, to me at least, is Xerjoff's Erba Pura which is a fruity scent with a musk base. This is a fruity scent with a moderately sweet base. I don't get rose, I don't get powderiness, but it certainly can be musky and alluring with the right skin chemistry. Huge sillage on the opening, but it appears to be volatile, going from that solid opening to a skin scent very quickly.

I like it as a whole, value isn't good at 50ml for 225€ and given it shares collection with Hacivat, this should not be available only in 50ml. I'd recommend this as a spring/summer daily (if you are more conservative wearing fragrance) or as a spring/summer intimate scent (think cuddle on the couch) for either gender.

Update 03/18/22: Tried the scent to the gym and my opinions haven't changed much. I got more muskiness from the scent with a higher body temp, the scent would radiate max within arms length, but not more than that. I still like the comparison to Erba Pura and would say this is a better Erba Pura as a whole.

Oh wow, this is really spicy! I wasn’t expecting so much spice but it’s nice. To me it has a strong barnyard smell like I find in Dzing! By L’Artisan. I mean this in a positive way. It’s the smell of a clean horse barn. Warm horses, dust, wood and a very, very faint smell of dung. Anyone who has owned horses knows this smell and loves it. Imagine this smell mixed with tart rhubarb and hot, spicy cinnamon and a sweet vanilla. It’s unique, cosy, musky, spicy, tart, sweet and a touch animalic making it a little dusty. To me, this is Dzing! mixed with Queen by Queen Latifah. I bet this would be sexy on the right person. I can’t stop smelling my wrist….mmmmm.

My husband gifted this to me this morning for the Valentine's Day and I'm once again so amazed at how wonderfully these people put so much research, thought and care for their creations. The box is a treasure as well as the perfume. The card inside the box represents the perfume with a beautiful illustration..After 10 minutes of spray, I am taken back to childhood memories in Istanbul of hard red candies my mom used to buy for us at the local candy store in my old neighborhood. It was my favorite trip to that store. I was so little I could hardly see him leaning over asking us (three sisters) which candies I wanted in my bag and the red one that this perfume reminds me of was always one of the choices. The cinnamon and spice, the rhubarb and the intoxicating Turkish rose that I adore. Thank you Nishane, for bringing back those precious memories. You are a dream come true for any serious perfume lover and collector!

Very fruity and tart to open, I agree with whoever said almost a mango-ish like poets of Berlin. The vanilla comes in and helps. It definitely has an almost salty/savory twang which is quite different from all that I have smelled.

I tried it on my wrist for a while and loved it and bought it. Today is the first day I’m spraying on my clothes (2 sprays) and I’m not sure I would have bought it had I tried it this way to begin with, I feel like I’m getting sick of it. I’ll keep trying though since I own it now…

*loves_shoes*

Not too aromatic, citrus or green really, don’t run from this if you see those accords and think it’s not for you (as I almost did!). It’s just slightly fresh and slightly salty.
On me it leans feminine. A fresh and fruity floral, and so well blended. No screaming Rose, no sour shouting tart rhubarb.
Dries into a lovely candied fruity scent, dry softly spiced, just soooo delicious.
Really a happy blind buy. Wish I’d got the 100ml!
I’d be happy if someone bought me this, I’m not sure if anything could offend, iso a safe blind buy.

I don't know what to make of this perfume. When I sprayed it on cotton and my wrist, it was so fantastic to my nose that I immediately put a full bottle in my cart to buy. A little voice in my head told me to use the two samples before making the purchase. I used my first sample, but I still left left the full-sized bottle in my cart. Today I wore it again and the scent was totally different. It was tart and a little "sour" on me. I don't know what precipitated the change, but it was not a pleasant experience. Since I know body chemistry, temperature and fabric will change the way a scent smells, I'm going to give it another go another time. I think it might be a little better for me in cooler weather.

**UPDATE**
I first tried this fragrance in October and thought it might be better on me in cooler weather. Well, it's more tolerable in cooler weather (it's January now), but it still doesn't agree with my body chemistry. However, on my clothing, especially after 6 hours or so, it's very nice. Unfortunately, I can't splurge on a full bottle to spray on my clothing :-(

pqcplus

Blind Buy and totally satisfied, not sure if it’s the Rhubarb or Black Currant but there’s a tartness combined with musk that’s just awesome!

JennyRDH

First tested it on paper and there was one salty-peachy/fruity- note that was overpowering the other notes. So I was like maybe this is not my cup of tea. But then I tried it on my skin and it was completely different. It’s so good, and all of the notes are balanced. On me, it smells like candied fruits flavored with vanilla, and a touch of salt and spices to cut down the sweetness.

Mokingbirdzz

Layer this with Hacivat and you guys will get Aventus "Extrait de Parfum" hahah

I’m shocked no one has mentioned how close this is to Brit Red. Both fragrances are built around rhubarb, rose, sandalwood, and vanilla. Red stays a fresher in the dry down with the gingered-orange providing some sweetness versus the grapefruit in Zenne. Zenne gets a deeper animalic note from the ambergris in the bottom.

I love both and have been testing them side by side. They aren’t identical but are sisters. One is feminine and refined; the other is a sexy morning after.

When I smelled it... I was like , this is more female frag. So I bought 2 for my girlfriend and I told her to wear it every day ... OR ELSE !!!!!! It’s so addictive so good

eleanorcastellani

I’ve never smelt anything like Zenne.

As much as it is sweet, sour, and metallic at the same time, it’s a true Turkish Rose scent.

It’s probably the only floral fragrance I like. Maybe even the floral for those who don’t like floral.

To my nose, Zenne is a refined, classy scent, and if it could be a colour, it would be scarlet.

LOL. I cannot get over the review below of iobaha. Hilarious and i have issues getting this overperfumed prostitute drenched in c*m out if my brain lol.

This is indeed kind of a milky sour iteration of animalic salty ambergris sweet milkshake with grapefruit.

Seriously speaking, at first i had issues w the strong ambergris and ultra sour rhubarb. It was a harsh citric melange that reminded me of masculine cologne. I even wanted to sell it. Let it be for quite a while and fast forward to some time, i can now appreciate this citrusy gourmand...a creamy vanilla with grapefruit that is beautiful and very unisex. A grapefruit fluffy cheesecake. Something very unique, bold, fresh but yummy too. I do not get a floral vibe from this, but a citrus fruit gourmand. I love thick perfumes like this one. A thick, full bodied fresh creamy citrusy animalic beast. Glad i kept it...

I see this as rather casual, even a bit sporty and i wouldn’t describe it as super easy to wear as the rhubarb sourness can be detected more some days, and same w the ambergris... but when these simply complement the vanillic base... it’s really a great summer or spring scent with Nishane’s epic quality and performance.

gmaster

Agreed with "eemukas" below me. Too sweet and strong to wear in the spring and summer, especially after our long Canadian winters where we get excited for temperatures above zero. We crave lighter clothes and lighter fragrances, and bottom line - more light as well.

I swear I smell pineapple. I also smell cassis and something tart - I guess rhubarb. I would like this fragrance more if it could exterminate the annoying sandalwood as well as diminish the vanilla by 75%. I feel like those two notes really bring the fragrance down.

Edit: the dry down after a few hours is more pleasant. I actually quite enjoy this fragrance now. The pineapple has disappeared on the drydown. I also feel like the annoying sandalwood has almost left and the vanilla is now much more elegant.

@iobhai is a Legend!

@iobhai: for sure the craziest review i' read in fragrantica so far! ❤️ it!

eemukas

I find it a little bit too sweet and too strong to wear in summer. But it is perfect for a cold day. This scent works like a warm scarf. It lasts forever. However I cant wear it every day as its a bit overwhelming.

Margielouise

The l dry down on this is exactly like Jean Paul Gaultier La Belle.

Tay@To

Very nice and refreshing scent with great longevity. Just used up a 5 mil sample and cannot wait to own a bottle.

alanwake

Smells like Roma Uomo Cedro. Notes are similar also.

Bubbles1964

A fruity and musky floral, combined with Nishane’s familiar vanilla DNA. It’s a little over the top with a tart, over ripe grapefruit note sitting on top of a floral bed. Zenne does not smell natural to me. Still, I enjoyed the opening.

But the dry down proved problematic.

I’m sucker for amped up vanilla, and Nishane does this so well. Typically I really like ambergris, but I don’t think Zenne needed it. I would like to smell a version of this without that salty note added.

rbalkris

An interesting floral gourmand scent unlike any other in the market. The perfume opens with gourmandish notes of grapefruit, black currant and rhubarb. The floral heart is rose and gardenia. The perfume settles on a powdery base of vanilla, sandalwood, synthetic musk and ambergris. Nishane amps this mix up with synthetic molecules to create a perfume that lasts a very long time and projects very strongly . Unisex slight feminine leaning perfume that is pleasing but not overly sweet. But not particularly spectacular either. Enjoy!

diluted paintbox

Love it. It is fruity, but not sticky, sweet, but also fresh. So intriguing!
Very alive. On my skin, black currant dominates, which I like. Normally, fruit scents are too sweet for me and always find them somehow cheap. But this one is not cheap. It is very well blended and it is definitely something special. I think it could be a good signature scent.

chiragh

Just received by bottle from Dubai , it has a CANDY TOUCH to it . did not like the opening but dry down is amazing with beautiful vanilla note .

This is pure unisex but leaning towards feminine side but am ok with it...

But be easy on sprays though .. 2 sprays are enough for the day .

Pianomelody

This is really beautiful, joyful and lively... a harmonious joy. In the drydown it is musky and soft, very evocative! I love this perfume. Sillage and longevity are enormous. Very beautifull!

You've found an over-perfumed prostitute in the slums of Paris in the 1920's. She carries an aura saturated with sweet fruits, tart fruits, animalic musk, and creamy vanilla that is so potent that you begin allowing more distance between the two of you as you follow her to her room. When you get inside, she offers you a glass of milk and, while you find the offer strange, you ultimately agree - because it's become clear that you're on an adventure tonight, and you should be up for anything. The milk is salty. Zenne by Nishane.

M. Shehryar

Altogether a different kind of freshness with mangoish tint and some confectionery type sweetness. It may compel to imagine about more love with art than sex. However it is type of art and creation which is loud and bold in a good way. Not for everyone but for those who dare to challenge the traditions...for me it is 7.5/10...

Q80

This one was kind of confusing, when i first sprayed it it went pineapple, grapefruit, and rhubarb. After 2 minutes it went black current instead of pineapple.

The problem with this fragrance is that it goes quite salty after 20 minutes and quite sharp peppery (definitely not Turkish roses cause Turkish roses are sweet not sharp). So imagine, black current, grapefruit, sandalwood, and salt! weird huh! and too sour and salty. Didn't like it unfortunately.

Black Russian

Very pleasant scent and excellent performance. To my nose, however, it is significantly toward feminine side of unisex. I'm definitely not buying full bottle for myself, but would consider to buy it as present for ladies in my life.

Calvini

This is very juicy, fruity, tart yet sweet with a creamy & slightly savory base, very lovable!

Today I've been testing the newest perfumes from NISHANE; a suite of perfumes which will be perfect for the upcoming Northern Hemisphere Spring and Summer.
Zenne has a top note of grapefruit, a perfect pink heart of Turkish rose and a sweet woody base of sandalwood and vanilla. Light, bright, sweet, creamy and delicious with just enough grapefruit to keep this fresh. A playful fragrance and rather delightful!
