Megamare by Orto Parisi is a Aromatic Aquatic fragrance for women and men. Megamare was launched in 2019. The nose behind this fragrance is Alessandro Gualtieri. Top notes are Bergamot and Lemon; middle notes are Seaweed, Calone and Hedione; base notes are Musk, Ambroxan and Cedar.

"Alessandro Gualtieri's new olfactory creation is Megamare. With this fragrance the master perfumer exploits the richness and originality of the marine notes. Marine accords know how to arouse emotions with a soothing effect. In addition to that, the watery essences are capable of recalling pleasant associations, releasing romance and making us happy. Alessandro Gualtieri does not discover the secret of the olfactory bouquet of his fragrance." - a note from the brand.

I just received a bottle yesterday and the performance is really bad and I have to bury my nose in order to smell it. I thought I was going nose blind to be honest. I really liked this fragrance when I first smelt it in a shop, which is a shame because the performance of this bottle that I received is nothing as people described and I sprayed it myself before.

mikodominik

Sir under me, thats almost 2 years old batch, i have a 2023 summer batch which is not gonna lie not as nuclear as the 2019-2020 versions but still crazy strong and unwashable

Oudo

Opened a new bottle yesterday (batch 09228) and its just water. Two earlier bottles were nuclear but this one just ain’t.

sarkrdamjamal

its not worth it, yet the performance is amazing but the smell feels like something my grandpa would wear definitly not for me i cant imagine smelling like this

Last 30 seconds then gone… dont see the hype in this!

Hey, I already spent 1/6 of bottle and opened it month and a half ago - no change whatsoever.

Guys when you buy new perfumes
Please put that perfume for 2 weeks at least for maturation and before this process Spry 10 time's

Fragrantica is proof that you shouldn't believe everything you read. After reading the reviews on Negamare, I was expecting something extraordinary with best lasting power, and I got quite an interesting, but nothing special perfume with a lasting 1-2 hours. I have absolutely no idea where the hype around Megamare is coming from.

kovalini

In heaven, they're talking about nothing but the sea and how wonderful it is. They talk about the sunsets they saw, they talk about how the sun turned blood red before diving into the sea and they talk about how they could feel how the sun lost its power and the coolness from the sea and all that fire was only glowing inside. (Knocking on heaven's door ).
The scent dedicated to the element of the ocean, honestly it's pure storm in the bottle.
This element inevitably permeates you throughout your life, throughout ebbs and flows.
Characteristics of the parfume are monstrous.
For those who likes marine vibe and connoisseurs of real nich fragrances.

@presentscents
I see, thank you for the information, I’ll update my last review. After a month or two of maturing I’ll give another update

Apotheosis

This fragrance is undeniably potent. Upon initial application, one's olfactory senses are met with an overwhelming blast reminiscent of a highly astringent cleaning agent, though significantly more pungent. After approximately twenty minutes, the intensity subsides somewhat, yet remains persistently present. This scent clings to you tenaciously, enveloping you in its grasp and refusing to let go. As it develops, it reveals more agreeable green and aquatic notes, offering a more pleasant aroma.

However, this fragrance is not universally appealing. I would strongly advise sampling it prior to committing to a full bottle. As for my own opinion, I remain undecided; I shall need to experience it a few more times before forming a definitive judgement.

gastohnnnnng

A month has passed since my last post.

Just wanted to inform you that the performance and projection have not changed for the better after maturation. They are very mild after initial 2-3 hours, the longevity is there on the body and the fabric, but the smell is only present if you bury your nose in your skin or clothes. It does not remotely project after initial hours.

Today, I wore 5 sprays to the office without any problems, as no one will smell it at all, since its basically a skin scent.

If you are looking for better performance, avoid any batches after 2022. (Mine is from November 2023.)

@pbd
I had similar concerns with reformulation when I bought full bottles of terroni and bergamask which led me to email them. Apparently they have NEVER reformulated any of their fragrances since their inception. Your problem with performance is most likely the need for maturation.

Presentscents

Not as scary as made out to be. This is simply just a very animalic marine-amborxan scent. I’m a surfer and I find it to be quite photo realistic in that it captures the idealic and also raw and natural aspects of the ocean perfectly. For example dead seaweed on the beach, marine life, and perhaps some fishy and mineralic smells. In the dry down it becomes a very refined and smooth…mainly musk-ambroxan type of accord.
Ironically for me I just don’t really like these types of scents unless they are very soapy. MamiWata Neo-animisms being a similarly good example of what I look for in this type of profile that I actually find much more wearable. I find that performance wise it doesn’t live up to the hype but it does last the longest out of the line with average projection.

pbd

I thought Megamare has been reformulated, which isnt true thanks to @presentscents.

I still cant shake the feeling of it smelling different though, it had this bright creamy sandalwood feel, now its mostly musk, salt and seaweed. Im now oddly enough anosmic to it, I wasnt the first time I tried it, could smell it for days. My batch is from 2022 fyi. Also my girlfriend can vouch for the great performance, so if that whats troubling you, rest assured.

ShaunMichael

I’ve realized I NEVER want to smell like either the ocean or Ambroxan. Hard pass. That said….its so strong, I’m
Interested in his other offerings

All eyes on me. Sometimes breathtaking, sometimes horrible.

SchmeatloafRD1

smells like a more natural light blue intense. on me this performs the same way hacivat does, which means it lasts all day long but only projects mildy, but it leaves a compliment pulling scent trail the whole time it’s on skin.

lucasgussch

just like diving into an ocean with lots of seaweed and then a beautifully crafted musk as it dries down. 10/10

kadzko

people online exaggerate with this fragrance. Good aquatic , musky and definitely wearable

kellyplu

Megamare is like nothing I've ever smelled before. It's the ocean, but not in the way you'd expect. It's not fresh and beachy; it's dark, salty, almost primal. It's like diving into the deepest depths of the sea, where sunlight can't reach, and ancient secrets lie hidden.

It is moody in a way and mysterious, a little bit dangerous, and definitely captivating. It lasts forever like the endless expanse of the ocean. It's not for everyone, but if you're into bold, unusual scents, Megamare is definitely worth exploring. Just be prepared for the adventure it takes you on. I could tell you stories!

a7x

It's remarkable how uniformly Megamare's scent is depicted with maritime imagery—'dark', 'oceanic', 'aquatic'. Yet, were I to describe it without prior knowledge, I'd never link it to the sea. To me, Megamare embodies an inescapable sweet, gentle presence, almost artificial in its pleasantness, as if meticulously crafted to evoke an ethereal sensation. A flowing sweetness, embracing like a cherished memory, enveloping the senses in a delicate, comforting aura. Megamare, to me, embodies an intriguing artifice in its allure, a symphony of notes that transcends the natural realm, hinting at something beyond my intellectual understanding, yet so familiar emotionally. Each molecule of its fragrance seems to carry whispers of a distant, uncharted place, in a "scentsational" narrative of fluid beauty.

If Megamare were to be associated with any ocean, it would perfectly align with the enigmatic depths of Solaris, where memories shape the perception of present reality and the devastating understanding of what it means to be human. Alternatively, it could evoke the gentle aroma of Caladan, a distant memory for Paul Atreides, as his time of innocence and familiarity becomes just that: a memory, before embarking on a journey that will lead him to his transformation and destiny. Just as the conscious ocean Solaris challenges the cosmonauts to ponder what it means to be human, Megamare challenges its much more mundane wearer with its combination of notes—Oceanic? Watery? Sweet? Undefinable?—to a contemplative quiet experience of its complex and unexpectedly seductive nature.

Megamare's allure lies in its tantalizing, unsolvable enigmatic aroma. A subtle invitation to embark on deep explorations akin to those in the ocean-conscious planet Solaris in Stanisław Lem's novel "Solaris," and the oceanic home planet Caladan in Frank Herbert's novel "Dune," brought to life in cinematic masterpieces by Tarkovsky and Villeneuve, respectively. If Megamare were to be associated with any ocean, it would be with the eternal, supernatural, all-encompassing Scent of Love of The Primordial Ocean of our Mother's Womb. The Primordial Memory. That will, in a singular and unique mysterious way, forever define us.

psarogen

This smells incredibly similar to YSL Y EDP in the air. This is really not that hard of a scent to pull off.

erayikari

to me it just smells like invictus in bottom of the sea

SuperScents

Not your average aquatic freshie. This is an OCEANIC fragrance. This includes the ocean water and all the creatures within it. Salty and musky, as if you made a whale carcass smell sexy.

If you’re looking for something like Megamare but without the muskiness, try Salt and Pepper by Precious Liquids.

Georgi Fotev

Surprisingly very linear fragrance coming from the Orto Parisi line, however this doesnt make it bad or boring. The best I can describe it is literally salty seaweed with LOTS of musk at the deep dry down. Overall it is very reliable reach for the warmer weather and performance and silage shouldnt even be questioned, considering it is a Gualtieri fragrance.
Solid 8/10

Huss_aladdin27

Orto parisi is a special like and Megamare is easily the headliner for the brand...just diving into a deep ocean with seaweed and the strong musk and cedar as the dry down takes place really like it the fragrance has immense projection longevity as well definitely not a blind buy but very unique

(((The mysterious fragrance))))
I received the perfume, Tester, at a very good price. The beautiful thing that caught my attention was the box of the perfume, it was elegant and tidy. I was surprised that it was a box of Tester. Some of the comments contain a lot of exaggeration. The perfume is not the worst perfume and certainly not the best perfume. The perfume is acceptable and an ordinary perfume, which means you can call it a perfume. I prefer it. A note about the perfume is that it is a non-linear perfume, and this is what makes it mysterious and confusing. It is one of the most complex, difficult, and strangest perfumes that I have smelled. It is a confusing perfume. It is on the skin, not on the clothes, not from afar, not from close up, the opening is not the end, and it varies from person to person. And from one atmosphere to another, it depends on the one who is scented with it and not on the one who accepts it. It is a new, old scent. I think it is one of the perfumes that is difficult for two people to agree on. It is sweet, salty, familiar and unfamiliar. You do not know whether it is feminine or masculine. The fragrance is very contradictory. What I am sure of is that it will suit the marine atmosphere. And lovers of the sea, residents of marine areas, and lovers of Aquatic marine perfumes and scents.
The opening is so refreshing and herbal that I went back to check whether it was Megamir or Viridi. I agree with you. Yes, I noticed iron rust, a slight ring, and a slight sea scum. Even in the reviews in the English version, someone mentioned dark enough. Yes, it is true. I also noticed the humidity of sea air in it, and I noticed the smell of blood, which I like, but not. Dam Sharbat is like my blood 😋, the fragrance has a moderate sillage, but it lingers and grips the nose and makes you feel that it is the dominant perfume. The fragrance is very easy to distinguish and differentiate between it and another perfume, and I expect it to be an enhancing perfume like the Givenny Accord Particoler perfume. The worst thing about it is that it contains the hint and The women's sweet note reminds me a bit of Francesca Bianchi's Sex and the Sea Neroli perfume. She ruined the perfume. I don't know what this sweet note is. Aquatic's marine perfume is not supposed to have any hint of sweetness at all. Believe me, she is the one who ruined the whole thing with the perfume and left it smelling like sewage and sewage. And insecticide, may God bless you, the perfume is worth trying, but it is not worth the exaggerated prices and it is not worth the exaggerated rating of 4. I see it a lot, although I do not know how to evaluate the perfume by numbers. Judge it for yourself and do not care about the judgment of the other, except from people of experience like me, and buy your good stuff. I am surprised. Many people who philosophize and say Sea Silence perfume have not tried the Sea Silence perfume from Strange Love. The Sea Silence perfume is literally as if you are in the middle of the sea or in the belly of a whale. This is not an enhancement to the Sea Silence perfume, even though I am a fan of the Strange Love brand and not even to diminish it, but I prefer a marine amber perfume. Very pure, it mimics the smell of the sea with the highest quality you can imagine, and in conclusion, drop it lightly and drop it lightly.

goktugcetin

Very strong seaweed after the opening, trying to figure out which perfume to overlay with this so I can add sweetness and soften the scent

Sulthanism

i like this but once u sprayed it on ur skin ur gonna be smlle like a rotten titanic

keeganalex

Opening: smells like nail polish remover with some citrus very pleasant in the opening.

Middle: marine and salty

Base: overbearing musk and hand sanitizer smell that makes me sick.

I like the opening but as soon as I wear it in skin people say it smells gross and almost like an un showered smell. GIVES ME THE WORST HEADACHE!

Scent: 2/10
Longevity: 20/10
Sillage: 20/10

I smelled this scent in New York a few months back and knew I had to get myself a decant for summer.

This scent is not the aquatic beast it tends to be hyped as, it's very musky with the aquatic notes taking the background. The opening on my skin varries from time to time. Sometimes it smells a little sweet, sometimes I get the salt from the seaweed very strong, its fascinating. This was also not the room filler fragrance I expected it to be I applied 2 sprays and went to class just fine, no comments. I probably wouldn't go over 2 in a class setting but I was worried 2 would be overdoing it in a school setting. However, I could be noseblind to its sillage. Whenever I lean to smell it on my arm I have no trouble finding the scent at all so maybe it projects more than I realize.

Another thing, this is not a "summer fragrance" to me. I see many people throw it into the "specifically summer fragrance" category when thats just not the case. For me, this is absolutely a year round fragrance. I feel this scent can be worn in any temperature its all dependent on the weather and vibe you want to go for. Calling this a summer frangrance is doing it a disservice, this could easily be a signiture if you're looking for something darker than most scents, but not extremely dark.

A very mysterious, alluring, and addicting scent. I love this, a 9/10 for me.

Afan adil butt

This house complete my journey no more words.

Strongfragrancelover

This Is first niche parfum that I love. Its cool aquatic scent smells like ocean. Don't trust people who dislike this. It's really strong that should be expected from expensive price point you don't want to wear expensive water. People who cry It's strong because they like designer weak fragrance. Try It yourself Don't discourage you haters comments from trying this gem.

umbergavia

Like every other Orto Parisi I've tried, this is redefining 'eternal' longevity. You'd need an acid bath to strip this from your skin.

It is absolutely ocean in a bottle. The saltiest salt I've ever smelled in a perfume, layered with harsh sea musk that quickly nauseated me. Something in here smells rotten, though somehow not fishy.

Sample this before you buy it. I don't mind oceanic accords, but this one overpowered me.

Aqua di Man

Tone of musk make me nauseous, and was very hard to wash this off my wrist , so don't try this on skin.

Hifza

Never got the chance to try the original one, only been using #Mega from Dua fragrances and so far so good. After reading the mixed reviews here, I would like to get my hands on it's sample first then will make a comparison. For now, #Mega is the perfect blend for those who are looking for a dupe/inspiration of Megamare Orto Parisi.

Bertes

I don't get the salty oceanic thing. It's really strong, I wanted to wash it off because it was too much, but it wouldn't come off.
It's more like a heavy musky smell, reminds me of some blue designer fragrences. Very strong, and not a pleasant wear. It was kind of suffocating me, it was hard to try to enjoy it.
Maybe I have to give this one more chance, but for now it's a hard dislike.

So 3 days went by, multiple showers and I still can't get it off. I tried to rub it off with alcohol but couldn't.
I became noseblind for a day but today I can smell it again.
I still have a scentbubble around me after 60 ish hours. People told me it's still strong.

I still don't love the smell, maybe it smells very different to the people around me because I can imagine that I'm nosebinde to a lot of notes after days.

This is a suicide if you spray more than once. You could suffocate a building with a broken bottle.

If I take into account that you have to spray once, every 3 days, it's not even that expensive.

Overall it's a chemical weapon with an okay smell.

Since its launch, Megamare is considered to be the most unique fragrance among the cool scents that is enjoying its reign.
Personally, I don't like cool scents very much and the only perfumes in this area that I have liked are Blue Chanel and Savage Dior.
But this one is something else.
So far, every time I have used it, both men and women have asked me about its name and said how fragrant it is, and this is despite the fact that I don't even notice it spreading or smelling it, which is also the reason. is that the nerve is filled and saturated.
An attractive and masculine fragrance
Very popular with women
Excellent playback and durability
A special and luxurious scent
It can be used for daily use and parties and family and work relationships.

OzkarVanille

It's really nice, not overly musky. The subtle sweetness from the citrus top notes last a long time and it's really nice. Don't understand why people say it smells "deep" or "mysterious". yes its dark, but I get a more cozy feeling from it. Maybe the niche community is a little dramatic. Still nice, dark, musky and partially sweet fragrance. Very nice!

fairfaxmax

It smells like the ocean, but not in a good way... only fragrance I've tried where I had to wash it off, but it still wouldn't come off...

Chumaosse

This is an absolute beast of a fragrance. I blind bought this fragrance and was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoy it. The opening is definitely salty and oceanic. It then does turn to that algae darkness smell but it returns for the remainder of the wear to the initial opening. I can’t get enough of this one, my favorite from Orto Parisi hands down.

Fluxie02

Great summertime fragrance with insane performance

kapitanu21

very good 8/10

Jucmorgo

Is this like Black Sea or Arktik Sea by Pazzaglia?
I have Megamare but I would like to have a more... ozonic, sunshine with open water feeling like 1988 by Rosendo. Without citrusy overtone but also without the ambroxan bomb from Megamare.
Which one do you recommend?
Arktik or Black? Or... dream sea?
Thanks so much, fellow fragfrantics 😊🔥

dogsmell

the faint smell of my bully: yellow stinkin urine mixed w pork infested sweat - he prolly ate lots of pork. Gross. VERY haram.
but...i aint mad at this scent. its fresher, kinder, bit harsh but not as insistent and attention seeking as my bully.
conclusion: reminds me of my bully but also makes me forgot about him.

nisarsarah9

I had a bottle of this and I enjoyed wearing it and its a pretty decent fragrance but the dry down is overpowering and strong for my liking which makes me want to give up on this scent. However, if there is any other version or blend of this available, then I would like to try it out.

Poczz

I’m the only one that can smell like Cinnamon or Coffee in this fragrance? Like this comment if u can smelled too, megamare it’s not for everyone or like it’s says on TikTok the best for summer nah, it’s not that type of fragrance that can get you compliments or something like that, it can be good for a summer night only maybe but sometimes I can’t find the marine and aquatic scent is more musky or like little bit sweet idk, but the projection and longevity it’s a beast, it’s not for me the scent and for some people, Megamare 7.5/10

RayHIRSCH

this fragrance is nowhere near as "bad" or "unwearable" as some of you guys say it is. you could legitimately put this juice in a montale bottle and watch the positive reviews skyrocket. really good fragrance but some people overlook it and other orto parisis because of tiktok

2bClare

I was almost scared to try this based on some of the reviews. And… I love it. I was looking for a marine fragrance that really smelled of the sea and didn’t smell like a bath and body works body spray or a 90s type aquatic and this is it. Ozonic, salty, and spicy with bergamot and lemon to lift it and musk and wood to ground it. I also at times get something like mint, which I love. Most importantly, to me, it does not smell of soap.
Yes it maybe would strike most people as masculine but I’ll be wearing this for myself and not to project anything to anyone else. I love a well done unisex fragrance and consider this to be one. Megamare is so good. Excellent sillage and eternal longevity.

Muzzer27

@gastohnnnnng

As far as I remember it was this way ever since I bought it, which was just a little while ago. I wish it would be more 'civilized', i.e. a little more user-friendly if you will. But there you go, this is Megamare. But then again, if name of the perfume contains the word 'mega,' Orto Parisi probably gave it the name for a reason,

gastohnnnnng

@Muzzer27 Hey, thanks for sharing your experience!

Can you share one more detail - did your bottle perfom like this since the opening, or did it start being stronger after some use?

Muzzer27

@gastohnnnnng - I have this very batch (11239), and both sillage as well as longevity are, how shall I best put it - monstrous, insane, beyond belief, nuclear, industrial strength? Whichever you choose, it will be apt. This is not an Edt performance for sure, nor is it a performance close to any other foragrance I have ever encountered in any form of concentration. Let me tell you what I mean: the other day I sprayed the most gentle and minimal amount I could bring our of the sprayer on my elbow bend, and imediately I put on a shirt and went on to do the usual daily routines. 3 days and 3 showers later, I was getting clear, strong wafts of the scent from under a different shirt and a thin wool sweater (I'm stressing the fact that these clothes were not the ones I wore when I sprayed the fragrance). I think this says it all. I like it, although I honestly think they should tone it down next time. This is way over the top.

gastohnnnnng

Newer batches (e g. 11239, 2023-11, like mine) perform like EDT - so no "beastmode", "amazing projection" "nuclear performance" or "monster sillage" whatsoever...

Just got it recently from the official retailer and was testing it out for couple of days. It has some longevity (after 4th hour mark performs closer to skin, no whifs) and very weak projection and sillage.

Today I wore linen shirt, on which I used one (1) spray of Lush's Twilight Body Spray, after ironing and before storing it to a closet a week before! (Amazing clothes refresher, which leaves no stains btw.) An then, before going out I've put 4 sprays of Megamare on me - two on the shirt, two on the neck. For the first 3 hours Megamare was there, but week old application of Twilight body spray was more prominent all the way.

Also, I've asked others if they can smell the perfume and they said no - so I couldn't put it on nose blindness.

Regarding the scent itself, it is a somewhat safe marine scent, initially very citrusy, and salty/woody/musky skinscent afterwards - so "no dark and stormy sea", "bottom of the ocean" vibes whatsoever.

I am regretting my recent aquisition, as there are much better perfumes from Orto Parisi line.

Marzepam

I absolutelly adore it. Genious masterpiece. Ash, musk at the base. Opening of bergamot well balanced with just a little of lemone so it doesn’t smell too fruity. Just light with sharp edge behind. Simply great

AntonioP.

I really hate TikTok Niche Glazing but Megamare is just a masterpiece. There is NO musk overdose, it is just perfect. The whole perfume is just super balanced and a GREAT summer perfume. You get one of the best summer niche perfumes for a good price. You just hear Torino21 or Renaissance, but you don't hear Megamare. Go and smell it for yourself, not a safe blindly, but really unique summery scent, with a deep character. Cannot stop thinking about it.

bd78

If a generic fresh designer scent had an overdose of musk. Not bad, but unoriginal. Lasts a while though

Alexdawolf

Does anyone notice coffee and caramel??

Oates

Genuinely a really nice enjoyable scent. No idea why people say these are challenging as I have smelt every one except ‘Bergamask’ and the only challenging thing is the longevity. 7/10

Fryzer8704

The scent is brilliant. I'm looking for batch 2019/2020. If anyone wants to sell, please message me. [email protected]

Scotty123

This fragrance isn’t one for new or inexperienced noses. It’s very strong and potent! Starts with a sour/tart lemon and bergamot which kinda hangs around, but fades more in the background as the fragrance goes on. As expected by the notes you get a very salty aquatic smell while loaded with tons and tons of musk which is mostly what you will get through the entirety of the fragrance with a small subtle woodiness, but mostly musk. Should probably have classified it as a Musky Aquatic. To like this scent you basically have to love musk. It’s no doubt extremely masculine. To paint a picture think more of an angry waves crashing on a stormy day by the beach on the Coast of the Carolina’s as opposed to a bright sunny day in Key West. Luckily for me I quite enjoy it enough to keep it.

Talsche

The opening smells like a crispy combo of seaweed, citrus and musk in a synthetic and medicinal way. After 30 minutes it smells only salt and musk to me. After 4 hours it smells like a sort of salty spice mix to me and gets darker over time. This perfume is like a kick in the balls in that the intensity only increases over time. The beastly strength can be a disadvantage because you are stuck with the smell for the whole day.

gordogevin

Was a expecting a dark blue ocean and got a kiddie pool.

Ana Letic

I haven't smell anything this strong and beastly before. I love the perfume, but I think it smells to masculine on me, unfortunately. But great work on this one.

smacleod7117

Well, I need to own this now. Just bought a 1ml decant sample and it’s everything im looking for at the moment. I’m going to ask for the full size as an anniversary present.

It’s difficult to explain just how this smells. At first you get the familiar fresh, ozonic notes that have been beaten to death over the years but then it immediately changes. It starts to smell, bulkier? Heavier? Almost milky, but in a good way? It smells like sea foam, salt and bug spray and I love it. I think people are taking some poetic license with the whole “smells like a shipwreck” thing but there is a little darkness here. It’s more North Sea vs the Caribbean if that makes sense.

A masterpiece.

HELLO GUYS SOME REVIEW HOW GOOD IS NEW BATCH PLEASE? STILL REFORMULATED OR AGAIN NUCLEAR? SOMEBODY WHO BOUGHT MEGAMARE RECENTLY ?

SGMarcus

What a letdown... On a testing strip, it is an aquatic, crisp, green apple vibe (nothing too fancy), and on my skin seaweed with some musk in a disgusting way. I think this is the most interesting fragrance that changed so differently on my skin and smelled completely different. Interesting

perfumepenatrator

just isn't as crazy as people say it is, i have this and if anything its kinda obnoxious due to its performance, smell is good though

Opato

I cannot, under any circumstances, get myself to rate this exceptional perfume, for a few good reasons.

First: It is a magnificent work of art, simply stunning. Now, you could say the same about many pieces of art: They are stunning, fascinating; they are enriching your life, and they are an experience you would not want to be without. And yet, at the same time, they can be deeply disturbing. Orto Parisi's Megamare is one of those. To wear it is in some aspects like having Picasso's _Guernica_ on the wall at home: It is a famous, fantastic work of art but it is also highly likely that it would be too big, intrusive and disturbing at home. How do you rate that?

Second, it is a fantastic scent that I do love, and as a purely olfactory experience it is quite masculine and quite pleasant at the same time. Many reviews state that it has some challenging notes, but I found those to be very exaggerated. While it contains indeed some uncommon facets, it is strange, 18 years since Terre d'Hermès, to claim it is a revolutionary scent. At first, I could not help myself thinking that the people who hate it the most, don't eat fish and/or cannot swim either, since my first hours of wear were wonderful. I already knew that overspraying would be a bad idea through reading other reviews. But then, after 24 hours, some of the aromachemicals starts to morph into something rather petrochemical, or paint solvent. This is something to which people react differently, but where the mentioned Terre d'Hermès has a weak, lingering solvent smell for me that is there all the time, Megamare offers a backlash tsunami of it on day 2. Yes: On day 2. After washing my hands five times, and a shower, it is still there.

So alas, it is simply not wearable for me. I put on an entirely different perfume today that I cannot smell at all. In the morning hours, Megamare was still a linear scent, but now at 14:00 there are just more and more solvents. It is not so strong that it is nauseating, but nevertheless it occupies my senses too much. Like a lover who simply won't give you space.

Do I recommend it? Yes, but under certain conditions:
- You need to be the signature scent kind of guy, because it takes two days before anything else is possible to wear.
- You need to try it on first to check it with your specific skin chemistry
- You cannot be sensitive towards the fumes from oil painting in the dry down. Yes, if you dislike being in a room that was recently painted with oil based paint, you will get the same whiffs from Megamare on day 2.
- You cannot have a special someone in your life who is sensitive towards it either. I would be able to live with it if you were a colleague in the same meeting room or office, but not in bed, if you understand.

Lowre

Megamare. The first niche perfume I bought for myself.

Ironically, Megamare initially didn't pique my interest at all. I heard about it a while ago, initially in a video by Alex Parfume who was crazy about it, when I was still getting into this world. He mentioned it often, but back then I couldn't see anything special about the bottle. I imagined it to be just another aquatic scent. I didn't understand the hype. I expected something ordinary. It didn't inspire me at all.

But at some point, spurred by curiosity, one day passing by Campomarzio70 in Rome, I tried it on my wrist. Two sprays that lasted me almost a whole month on my skin. Interestingly, it seemed to have disappeared for the first 4-5 days, only to gradually come back to me on my wrist, as if it had been dormant. Strange, but it had won me over from many perspectives. I certainly didn't expect this. Not a perfume, but rather a strongly salty, seaweedy smell. I could smell the saltiness. It reminds me of the times when I still enjoyed going to the sea, before getting tired of it or even hating it.

This perfume confuses me.
It reminds me of home, Sardinia (Italy). But I hate home.
Maybe I miss the feeling the sea gave me as a child.
But I can't have it back anymore.

It's somewhat the scent of my past, in its own way.
It strongly resembles the sea of Alghero. Or that of Sa Mesa Longa. Seaweed. Salty seaweed. The saltiness.
A maritime scent not fresh that drags you into the depths by the foot, deeper and deeper.
If I smell it, actually what I feel about myself is suffering and melancholy. But I can't do without it. Truly stunning.
I wish it projected more. I don't think I got the projection effect I expected, however, it's unbelievably long-lasting. Right now, it's the perfume that I feel represents me the best. A suffering sea, a bit stormy.
Abyss.

Such a great unconventional scent,
shouldn't be categorized in any way!

jus like dat blame 123 lad, drydown smells like the best dark coffee on me. 10/10 fragrance, 11/10 longevity and projection. GAULTERI THE GOAT

jasperr3

People overreact with this fragrance. It doesn't smell like a shipwreck or anything. To me its a pretty normal summer frag. Very musky and salty but nothing insane.

Adriano2001

I personally I found it has a slight bit of Ysl Y EDP with added depth , spiciness of some sort similar to sauvage elixir and a salty accord , smells mass appealing but also very niche.
Longevity - 14hrs , as a skin scent 16+hrs
Projection - 4-5 hrs
Sillage - Loud
Number of sprays - 2-3
Weather- All year , shines in hot weather , all occasions. Signature scent worthy.

Swore

The masterpiece of avant garde perfume formulation. The most non-linear, powerful, and challenging fragrance I’ve ever experienced. I wear this almost every day, and I wear it for me and me alone. This is my signature scent and in a sense this fragrance is everything I stand to achieve. This scent is cryptic, confusing, multifaceted, and throughout the day you watch this fragrance live and change as though it has thoughts and feelings. It reacts with your body and feels like a friend.

Megamare is the greatest fragrance ever crafted, all praise Gualtieri the highest.

Autumarsaint

I ordered a sample of this recently the experience was not too bad it smelled quite good in my opinion but it was strong only thing i really disliked about it was the packaging of the sample. It was a small plastic bubble filled with the oil of it i had no idea how it worked and i opened the sample and managed to spill a little bit on my shirt people that day said it smelled super strong they did not say it smelled bad. I for some reason do not get the hate of this. It smells very nice to my nose. To sum it up bad packaging, good scent.

Arcticyam

Possibly the worst fragrance I've ever smelled. I've recently been trying to find out what a certain synthetic note is in lots of (presumably cheap) fragrances I smell when out and about. Having been given a blotter with Megamare on it, I think it could be the overuse of similar chemicals found in this fragrance as it has that distinct smell.

I thought I'd thrown the tester strip out, but woke up literally feeling nauseous and realised I had left it on the bedside table. I even had to scrub the table as remnants of the scent remained. I'm very open to unusual scents and tastes and appreciate that fragrance is subjective but this is a Blitzkrieg of obnoxious synthetics on the nose. Longevity and projection would be hard to beat but in this case it's not a good thing.

RiderCub

I'm shook by this. Got a 2ml decant to see what this is about... sprayed twice on my arm. That was too much. Yet, I sat with it for a couple hours to muse what it made me feel. To my beginner nose, it's slightly on the disgusting side, but I can appreciate how this is a unique and creative masterpiece for some.

I now know what the inside of a whale's stomach smells like.

I spent all night texting my friends about this one, and they are intrigued and can't wait to sniff it themselves. I'm glad I have it, but mostly as a novelty. Honestly, I will wear it again and give it more chances to change my mind.

Best one I have

Inkz_

Sprayed 4 sprays first time I wore this. Yikes, I had people moving away from me.

2 sprays and I over hear people talking about a great smell in the air.

Nuclear performance that’ll linger on fabric days on end. I hugged my girlfriend when I dropped something to her house. She tells me 2 days later the smell is still in her room even though I didn’t even go inside the house.

The scent is a green marine if that is a term. Deep, dark and almost reclusive in demeanour. I also get a fresh clean note at the same time. The weird thing is after 30-60 mins there is a creamy almost gourmand note that I can only describe as if the ninja turtles had a confectionery liquid/gel it'd smell like that.

I’m constantly walking into my own scent trail and I can imagine for some it can be headache inducing but I love it.

Not as scary as people make out. Would recommend to anyone who wants to smell different and who enjoy going down a dark route.

Juckport

Very intense and definitely an acquired taste for people with sensitive noses, but I'm personally a big fan. It smells salty and deep, like a deep ocean but specifically where heavy waves could crash between dark sharp rocks. Very realistic scent.

I bought this for my boyfriend since he loves the sea, but unfortunately the bottle broke in his jacket pocket 2 months ago and the smell was so strong that he had to wash it multiple times and I believe it still smells like Megamare. A very creative and intriguing fragrance but be careful Q_Q

KingKilo

It's a cool spring day, you and your partner walk barefoot over a white sandy beach. In the distance, you see a fisherman hauling in his catch of the day. He looks up for a second, and you wave at him. He lifts his chin, and continues his work. You get a whiff of fresh seaweed from some rocks on the shore.
"I could go for some food", you hear your partner say, and your belly starts to rumble. You too, could go for a light Plateau de fruits de mer.

You smell great.

I just bought the 50ml and let me just say WOW. It is fantastic! It stars off a little ozonic with a touch of floral. When it settles, it becomes this seaweed and sea salt smelling fragrance. It is quite dark. Is it mass appearing? Yes! I have seen some people say it smells like rotten seaweed, and IT DOES NOT smell like that. Although I have to agree that it has a funky undertone when it dries down
Over all, it’s a very pleasant scent that transforms a lot
It is a work of art

connerb

This is not the Caribbean, French Riviera, Hawaiian coast or the Maldives. My friend this is a stormy night in November on a fishing boat off the coast of Alaska.

Arsoff

This scent is unique, i would say it is really nice aquatic scent and it is fresh but just a bit. I do not get that smell of “rotten eggs” as most of the people say. On my skin it smells amazing. For sure it is a bit overpriced. I bought it as a blind buy tbh and was a bit afraid what will be the outcome but after the first smell i fell inlove with it. Totally worth trying as per my opinion.

Lazyscents

Made the unfortunate mistake of using 4 sprays. This stuff is nuclear, if you have a weak nose stay away from this for your own good. Got a confused look from my friend while wearing this, then he asked me; “What are you wearing?” As a good friend I didn’t gatekeep and told him what it was. And he just kept looking confused, he just couldn’t figure out what he was smelling. And I completely understand that. If you’ve never smelled or heard about this fragrance its probably so confusing. It’s a marine fragrance, but its not fresh. This scent made me realise that those are two completely different things, that are often associated with eachother because they go very well together. But that’s exactly what I love about this, it shouldn’t work if you think about it. But it does, in fact it works incredibly. This smells like a salty wreck at the bottom of the ocean, surrounded by a forest of seaweed. And I know that sounds awful, but as I said, that’s what I love about this. It sounds awful but it’s beautiful. This is so artistic and complex, but somehow still relatively mass appealing. To be completely honest I can’t tell you a specific occasion to wear this, I don’t think there’s any occasion or season where you can’t get away with this, as long as you stay calm with the sprays. MAX 3!! And that’s still a lot for this one. I know I’ve said a lot of good things about this, but please do NOT blind buy this. I smelled this for the first time in Dubai a while back and I really didn’t like it too much, not like I hated it but it was just underwhelming. Got back home from Dubai and I was ordering some Imaginary authors samples a couple weeks later, so I decided to throw in a megamare and bergamask sample as well. Absolutely fell in love with this.
Smell: 9,5/10
Longevity: 10/10 (still performing after 12+ hours)
Sillage: 10/10 (fills up a house)
Price: 9/10 (for something of this quality €145 is a bargain)

bamba21

most mass appealing orto parisi, smells like the typage of popular male colognes, unique and grows on you. can smell like cigarettes at first

villorea

2 sprays on my arm made me nauseous. ;-; I really appreciate the artistry to this though! :) Today was POURING RAIN on the freeway and I literally felt like I could be one of the pirates from Pirates of the Caribbean sailing in stormy seas. :P Cool, but I wouldn't wear it. :D But, I'm happy to have tried it out! The bottle/liquid looks so attractive to me!

MrMrBrian

The sprayer is awesome! It has the potential to spray out a lot so you could run out sooner than you think…This is a wear the hell out if it and Buy again kind of fragrance!!!

Zack_Zucco

A lot of this will have been said before, and let me start with probably the most repeated, obvious statement: DO NOT BLIND BUY THIS. I really enjoy this fragrance but it is extremely polarising and I can imagine some people feeling really sick and nauseated by this fragrance because it is synthetic and SALTY AF. If you decide to wear it in the morning, you better be prepared to smell like that all day, because even washing it off is an exercise in futility. That being said, I love this. Is it fresh? In my opinion, no. Is it marine? Yes. These two often get associated with one another but there is a big difference between them. Fresh fragrances are uplifting, easy to wear and mass-appealing. Megamare is none of those. It is a dark, musky, salty marine fragrance that lasts forever and completely fills up a large room. Be extremely careful with how much you spray - I am willing to say that this is a fragrance that needs only one spray (even that might be more than enough). This is art. If you want to impress people, do not wear this. But in saying all of this, it's a great fragrance and to me, another masterpiece by the brilliant nose that is Alessandro Gualtieri.

sonny35

Imaginary authors - every storm a serenade x10000.
If you like that and wanted massive performance get this.

FragranceZoe

My wife said this smells like a shirt you went to the gym in and smelt the airpits with saltiness 😟😟

Iliacci85

Sampled this but unfortunately it’s not for me. I think it’s the saltiness and/or the seaweed, but there is nothing special or appealing to me in this perfume. Not buying at all.

tsvetelinalsd

The smell of bergamot has always disgusted me, that’s the only reason Megamare is a NO for me, after the terrible opening tho you really do get the feeling you are by the sea :)

Sammy@au

Orto parisi megamare.
A fairly nice citrus, musky, floral which gives off a nice briney marine like feel.
I have smelled most from the house, the best to me was Brutus, which had a nice patchouli & very classy.
The problem with orto parisi are the synthetics used & the strength.
Here, it is way too strong, the smell is nice but just dries down to brute of a fragrance that just seems to last forever, then just irritates, which is a problem.
I just don't want it to be my problem!

davehalabe

The best preforming fragrance OAT

An aquatic but unique scent with a rich smell

Not hyped and underrated

Hefty price tag but worth it

Overall 4.30/5

thee_argus

This smells like an Orto Parisi, the musk is similar to Seminalis (which is one of my favorite scents ever so no problem there) The seaweed isn't totally present, it lingers, but if you focus, its there, and it's perfect., Doesn't smell too salty. This smells like a really dark blue, if that makes sense....chained to a shipwreck at the bottom of the ocean kinda vibes.

I went totally noseblind to this almost immediately. I thought that the sample vial I had wasn't enough, and after wearing it for an hour my coworker turned the corner and complimented me on my scent, and he was a good foot and a half away from me. That was just from a 0.7 vial too, and I still have a spray left. Kinda wish I was able to smell it longer so I can get a full experience but I'll still buy a bottle like the Orto stan I am. I blame Terroni for this.

rickkkkky

Absolutely unwearable in public. Yet I had to acquire a full bottle. There's something I just can't get enough of in this monstrosity.

lmnsvgz

A salty, marine version of Erba Pura - it has the same synthethic musky base - and it also SCREAMS in your face. I don't find this wearable unless you live alone on a beach. It has something very sharp in it and it is way too strong.

gorin

Love/hate kinda perfume.

Much more pleasant than I assumed it would be
Soothing and calming,
Rich and expensive,
Addicting and complex

Ngl it does hurt my eyes and nose a little bit
And my girlfriend hates it,
It's making her dizzy and mad from 5m away

But it's 100% worth a try.
It'll be funny if you hate it because your room will be poisonous for a few days after testing it
(If you blind bought a bottle, you deserve that)
Otherwise you'll love it :)

this is NICHE
9/10

(Seriously though don't blind buy this)

Ara3

The smell is very repulsive and reminds me of a salty mucus. After just picking up the bottle and taking of the lid my hands smelled like this. I would describe the scent as a rusty can that has been in an underwater cave covered in slimy seaweed. This scent is not for me and I fail to sea why people like it so much

Xloni

You can smell everything listed. Upon spraying you get a blast of all the notes with some saltiness. After 30 minutes you are left with a nice smooth amber and jasmine with a lot of musk. Its a really nice fragrance but to me it smells like an old lady.

Radknight

I love my salty marine, oceanic-type fragrances but this is *truly* unique. The opening is just horrendous with the tiniest amount of citrus but pretty much reminiscent of worn out tires hanging off the dock to protect a working boat, layered with sea salt, seaweed and who knows what. Luckily it settles down to something more palatable. Call it Kenzo Homme Marine's grandfather that has worked on the docks for 50 years to make sure his family had food on the table and clothes on their back. His hands are rough, his neck is leathered, his back is permanently slouched and he has no time for chit-chat or small children. But you love him because he's your grandfather.

This is truly powerful stuff that lingers. Nuclear submarine territory so proceed with caution. You only need one or two sprays to feel the power. My first spray gave me slight headache and filled up my home office. I had to open a window or two. Needs a bit of airflow to enjoy it.

fubar

Most interesting fragrance I have worn.
Marine, musky, sweet and powerful.
The sillage and strength are no joke. Don't wear if weak nose.
Smells like a beach in Fiji with salty water splashing your face, and I love it. Definitely want a full size bottle for summer.

Afr90

Masterpiece is an understatement for this one.

Love it, and could never be without it.

Haribo56

First of I want to say this definitely has some of the best projection and longevity I have ever seen on a fragrance. Which is kind of crazy considering most fresh and aquatic fragrances are quite weak. As for the smell I think it’s certainly unique, the main thing I seem to smell are musk and watermelon notes. I’d say you certainly would not offend anyone wearing it, but at the same time it may be a bit to out there for most people. Probably worth getting a sample of it as I feel it could really appeal to some.

n0tmohamed

1-2 hours smells super aquatic instantly gave me thought of a shark in a deep deep ocean

3-6 hours smelt like a hard boil egg and I love it

sasha_rose

boyfriend wore this to the beach today and i could smell him from like 10 feet away, he sat on my couch for 45 minutes and i still smell it, its very strong
kinda weird to me for it to be so strong since its like aquatic but i do like it a lot the musk and the saltiness/seaweed come thru in such a lovely way, i would wear this myself if it wasnt so insanely strong
got kind of a cinnamon donut smell at the beach and later in the car and bf says he gets a sweetness from it too not sure if thats from the musk? i do like that a lot whatever the sweet note is. i think this is totally wearable but like one spray only

Swimannex

Tried on in a store and loved it so much the Shop Owner gave me a free sample.

The free sample comes in a little capsule which promptly sunk into a very important little cardboard box I'd propped it up on and now my room smells so sour it's nauseating.

Really sad cause now I have the terrible mental connection between this and my stank ass room.

Also while wearing this everyone could smell it but nobody complimented it, this is a perfume for the wearer and for the wearer only.

Anas_anas

Tbh, this is an unwearable fragrance, but its INSANE

MEGAMARE is the only fragrance that actually made me feel trapped, as if i was drowning in an ocean where i cant see more than 1m away.

I was planning on blind buying and THANK GOD I DIDNT,trully facinating how a fragrance can do this to my brain.

kispo

This one comes out Poseidon's orgies ..... I will use P.J. Harvey’s words to describe it...

Sprayed on neck and wrists and went for an hour hour bike ride along the coastline . Then ate fish n chips on beach. On way home around three hours later popped into local wine bar. Couldn’t smell meganare on me at all.

Soon as i walked in guy 5 foot away asked me what i was wearing. Next day at lunchtime popped in as i forgot my hat. The wine bar still smelt of megamare. Seriously.

Smells wonderful, projects and has awesome staying power. What more do you want from a pefume. All hail megamare!

Nb you quickly get nose fatigue so ignore anyone claiming it is no longer beast mode.

xFragrantica

You will hate it in the beginning, but you will fall in love with it shortly. Opening smells like a rusted ship at the bottom of the ocean. Dry-down is very musky in an addictive way. Longevity is very good projection is just ok. 10/10

nickpod

Warning this is a nuclear bomb in a bottle. Woman smelled it on me about 8 feet away, she did compliment the scent though. I find myself planning my day around this fragrance, getting an early start to the day and applying it hours before being around others. I wouldn't recommend applying it immediately before anything, EVERYONE will smell this. I blind bought, and at first the smell scares you away. I'm convinced the bad reviews smelled this on a sample strip, which I too dislike it straight out of the bottle. 5 out of 5 stars once it dries down, masterpiece. Get this!

Aygyun

Very aquatic. Way too strong. Dry down reminds me of Aqua Universalis.

Naixsu

Cthulhu 2 days on my skin

chrispreston86

Urbanskis comment perfectly summarises this whole fragrance, well done.

Urbanskis

Smells like a rusted anchor on the bottom of the Mariana Trench

MelvinG79

Blind buy it
Did not like the opening
Mid and dry down is not i was expecting for a blue perfume
Felt like regretting that i bought it
After few days of thinking that i wasted my money
Tried it once again
Since that day on, cant stop smelling it whever i pass by my closet
Regret before, cant forget now
Masterpiece!

Dareenx12

I would classify this as high-end niche. The smell is definitely not for everyone. I personally love this smell and the scent is phenomenal. The opening is a harsh, salty almost aquarium-like feel to me, which gradually devolves into this cold ocean breeze, but definitely not the mass-appealing kind. On my skin I get 20 hours of longevity and around 4 hours extreme projection, which eventually quiets down to a skin scent. I would not go any more than 3 sprays with this. I do not think this is reminiscent of body odor and it definitely smells like a fragrance, only a very strong one at that. This could honestly work all year round because of the darkness but it would definitely shine in the summertime. Do not blind buy this. Great fragrance, 10/10

Ayetheysmellgood

Don’t get me wrong, this does smell pretty damn great. But it’s just not quite what I was hoping for. I just have a dabber sample which I’ve used two or three separate times trying to wrap my nose around this scent. That being said, the power of this fragrance is pretty insane. Just from a few dabs on the back of my hand I can smell this for at least 5-8 hours pretty strongly. I’m sure it would be suffocating if you doused yourself in sprays of this. The smell itself is suuuper musky and then aquatic of course. Also lots of ambroxan. It’s a very masculine musc, smells like your boyfriend fresh out of the shower. Skin still damp with the smell of some Cremo body wash lingering. Megamare definitely gives men’s body wash vibes. When I first smelled it it reminded me of like every men’s cologne ever. Like if someone said this was nautica voyage le parfum or something I might believe it.
I can totally see where people are coming from with their descriptions, but the people saying this smells like “a cave at the bottom of the ocean !” Are definitely reaching bc this smells nothing like that. This fragrance doesn’t even drudge up imagery of water or darkness or anything like that when I smell it. It really just smells like a cool dude. Like an old spice deodorant or an axe body spray. And I’m someone who loves deciphering the difference faucets of a fragrance, usually I’m having to explain my niche fragrances to my friends. This is just not the one, totally undeserving of the hype. That’s not to say it doesn’t smell great tho! It does smell pretty insane! Just all the hype and different descriptions floating around made this feel very “Meh..” when I tried it.

I am looking foreword to trying more fragrances from Orto Parisi tho, I also sampled Boccanera which was an absolute hit! I could even see a full bottle of that one in my future. Next up, bergamusk, Viride, and seminallis!

dnch

I need to start by mentioning that I made an account on this site just to review this perfume & T-Rex by Zoologist. That's the level of projection this perfume has

For context, I sprayed this on my left wrist yesterday morning in a perfumery (I went there just to test Megamare & Terroni from Orto Parisi).

TLDR - Megamare is just not for me. Other reviews that stated that this is not for amateur wearers and they were right.
The opening of this perfume is quite boring, you immediately feel that marine/aquatic smell buy don't expect anything citric, fresh or conventional. It smells like ocean that turns into a very strong muski scent in about 30 mins. I expected a more complex opening for something so popular but I wasn't dissapointed.

The problem starts after 1 hour of putting this on your skin - the musk takes over, the oceanic/marine/salty smell goes away and all you can feel for the next day is a strong NUTTY smell.

Strong longevity is an understatement for Megamare - this thing will literally persist for more than a day even after multiple washes (washed my hand & wrists for like 3 times). Now, 30 hours later that nutty smell is still persistent in the sense that it became nauseating.

I really wanted to love this by unfortunately it's just not for me - amazing longevity & sillage though.

kertese

First fragrance my mother liked, this tells a lot about it. Under the notes and accords that everyone already knows there is a cookie-like smell, not a sweet cookie but definitely a cookie at least for me. Can't compare this to anything, truly one of a kind. For summer it may be too cloying so I would recommend it for spring and autumn. Do yourself a favor and do not blindbuy ts

Kinnyski

LOL! It smells a bit like Toilet Duck Marine! For some strange reason I like it and cannot stop sniffing my arm. Like sitting by the beach at night and smelling the waves and salty sea air. The literal scent with seaweed and driftwood, not the romanticized ocean scent ones by Bvlagri or Cool Water. Not for everyone. My husband hates it

Antzei

I wore this perfume 3 weeks ago washed my hoodie 2 times and I can still smell it.
Really nice, ultra projecting aquatic smell suitable for summer as well as winter.
Definitely not a blind buy. Might smell like rotten eggs on some skins.

Oh Megamare.
Megamare, Megamare, Megamare.

How I wanted to love this stuff. Starts out super musky, marine, and some fresh citrus. I had heard this stuff was potent so I sprayed some onto a test strip over my little office garbage can.
The dry down immerses you in this deep dark, murky ocean cave. There is no light down here and nothing down here has ever seen the light. We are in the deepest depths of the ocean.
I lived in that cave for weeks. I threw the test strip out into my little garbage can. 3 days later I could still smell the pitch black ocean cave and dumped that trash into the outside can. A week later I was still in this cave and the seaweed in my cave had only grown and things only got murkier.
The overspray that missed my test strip and landed on the edge of my bagless garbage can lasted about two weeks before I finally was able to come back to the ocean’s surface and see the light of day. I searched the inside of my garbage can for damage as I swear a fragrance this potent must be eating a hole in the plastic somewhere. To my surprise, the garbage can was still fully intact.

Nonetheless, 8/10 for genuine appreciation and enjoyment of the fragrance. My particular situation of having to live with it for weeks made me realize the true potency of this fragrance and made me not want to wear it out, for fear I would smell deeply dark and oceanic, which doesn't fit me. My apartment smelled depressed and sad, luckily I didn’t succumb to the eternal darkness that is too much Megamare.

Anyone who has a bottle or glass sample should handle with extreme care. If it were to break I would fear for your general wellbeing and enjoyment of life because that smell will be in your home for generations to come.

I love this stuff but it is STRONG. I have very strong fragrances in my collection but this is by far the strongest. For the first few hours after spraying it is impossible to sit in a car. You do go nose blind after a little while but trust me, this stuff is still there. On to how it smells:
VERY aquatic. Like, too much. I personally love it. It’s like being in the middle of the ocean but musky. This is how I imagine a shark corpse would smell like. It’s not for the faint of heart. You will make a statement when wearing this. Make sure you like it before you spray it on yourself because that one spray you do on your wrist will last all day and project heavily.

alanwake

Boring forgettable scent that reminds me of retro aquatics. Very potent and cloying on top of it. Just a synthetic chemical mess.

Nielsbrownz

For me this smells like old Spice deep sea but much stronger.

ChrisChinB

This fragrance is not for the faint of heart, very musky, pee-like, and dark green seaweed, and smells like a washed-up mush of deep-sea mass, in an artistic way.

R0Y

STRONG ocean fragrance. Very musky and salty.

Johnnyboy719

Megamare is not for everyone. And by everyone I mean anyone. It does not smell like the ocean. I grew up on the water and if this is what it smelled like you wouldn’t want to live within 100 miles of the coast. Which, coincidentally, is about the average projection of Megamare.

r350

Detritus of the ocean. Washed up cuttlefish bones, seaweed and fish shit. Don't know where fragrantica notes are from because Gualtieri does not disclose notes. Potent and salty.

KaoGoesMo0

Spilled a bottle of this on my carpet, what do I do

Vince540

GODZILLA!!! ☢️ ... Definitely smells like him.😍

0xrafae

Megamare is like tar in a black glass jar. If you spill it at home, you might pack your bags for a month, because the scent isn't going anywhere fast. It's a seriously intimidating fragrance.

mhs147

Just recieved a decant of this. Upon applying, i smelled a veery familiar scent in the opening but couldn't remember it. I finally did, it opens up veery similarly to Aimez moi comme je suis de Caron, the hazelnut note is very prominent. I will update as the scent evolves

ryanok21

The hype for this fragrance made me buy a decant. The seaweed smell isn't for me and smells bad on my skin. The longevity is amazing.

best unique aquatic fragrance and its so beautiful love everything about this one. the first spray was harsh on my nose a little but when it dried down oh its so amazing and mysteriously fresh

Sniffing this reminded me of Jesse and Walt's first cook, when Jesse said "This is art, Mr. White!". Unique and super strong. It can overwhelm you and you will go nose blind to it from time to time. I got mad compliments with this fragrance, it's like a magic potion. 10/10 masterpiece.

I waited a long time to add this one to my collection. I’m not a fan of aquatics or freshies or whatever they call them. However I found some that I truly do love & This one is hands down my favorite in that category…. It’s almost like the ocean itself but syrupy sweet if that even makes sense. My luckyscent sample did not make me see this. I just got so many damn complements the 3 or 4 days I wore it off the little sample vial.. Months later I just decided what the hell bought it & Oh My Gawdd!!! This is like nothing else!! “NEWSFLASH” Forced to admit by a long shot my most complemented fragrance I’ve ever had! I’ve never had so many people ask me what is it that you got on??? It’s crazy the amount complements! It’s like one you don’t have to use much & I overspray it I’m almost sure & get away with it apparently. A couple of my co workers have bought it as soon as I told them what it is…Only way I know how to describe it is a really sweet almost syrupy oceanic yet clean fresh smell that does not leave you ever!!! The color of the juice is the color of ocean water & the cap looks like an actual rock or something from out of the ocean…Really good stuff! Totally different from his other offerings. I’m glad I finally pulled the trigger on this one!! It’s one I’ll have to buy again before 2024 is up

Fireman22

One of the best Aquatics I have ever put my nose on.
Two spray maximum, compliment factor very high. People are going want to know what you are wearing.

MASS PLEASING WORK OF ART-
My experience is from an authentic 2ml sample from a retailer. ( 6 sprays- as sample atomisers have small dispensing capacity) WHERE can I start? Alessandro Gualtieri!!!!!! You are a magician. The scent starts of with a smell of watermelon ( I believe its the calone) mixed with citrus. Calone is more prominent. In a while It turns dark and musky, and before you guess what it could be, It turns Melony and floral and, stays like that for some time. After about 2 hours the aquatic vibe mixed with sea-salt, mixed with musk start predominating. Its complex to describe or Impart the smell to one ingredient in the composition and that's why it is a complex scent. But all through the journey it is pleasant. Also, typical of Ambroxan, the scent does play hide and seek. you might feel you have lost the scent that that's when you pick whiffs of it. Please do not spray it on your chest, as it increases your chance of going nose blind. Honestly, its hard to dissect the composition, it keeps evolving on your skin. And the premium you pay for it, is for the genius in Alessandro Gualtieri. It is worth a full bottle buy and IMO it will work the whole year. On skin, depending on skin type it might last somewhere between 8-24 hours. On me, it lasted good 8 hours and then a small close to skin scent bubble for another 5 hours. I never felt it became a skin scent with me. As I have noticed, the more my body warms up, the more I could pick up the scent. So, I would say this would go down in history as a the best work of art that appeals at least to most. I dont think I am capable enough to mark this fragrance. It will be IMO a 10/10 in all categories.

Overall:
This cologne is like no other "aquatic" cologne I've smelled. Having many aquatic scents from Chanel Allure Homme Sport, Creed Millesime Imperial, an array of Acqua Di Gio scents, to many more in between, Megamare is the most unique. This is a niche that should be a daily driver in that it smells incredible, is so original and unique that it demands attention, and that no one will share the same scent because of it's entry barrier of cost. Users should be cautious of it's power and magnitude when wearing this scent.

Megamare as an "Aquatic Scent":
Most aquatic scents go the safe route where there is the traditional balance of citrus, aquatic notes, and wood. The opens tend to have strong citrus opens followed by aquatic notes/aldehydes, and then are followed by a base of amber and/or cedar that reveals itself as it wears. With that, the citrus and wood end up getting the most shine. The life of the truly aquatic notes end up not getting the limelight. In the case of the scents where the aquatic notes do shine, the longevity is never there (Acqua Di Gio Profumo or Versace Eau Fraiche). While Megamare has cedar in it, it's the seaweed that makes the scent. It gets magnified and freshened with the citrus, but by no means does it take the backseat. With the help of the musk qualities alongside it, this scent brings a dreamlike, nostalgic marine feel.

Comparisons/Unique Qualities:
From first smell, it reminded me of Marc Antoine Barrois' Ganymede in the uniqueness. The mineral-ish ozonic parts of it has an effect where you get hit with nostalgia, but you don't quite know how or why. It makes you think of a memory you can't quite put your finger on, in the best way. It has this effect on the people that I've openly asked about it. "I remember the smell, but I don't know what from..." I would have thought that there would have been some mineral notes in Megamare because of the same unique similarity to Ganymede, but it's the seaweed and ambroxan/musk combo that brings the feeling.

How to Wear: [EDITED]
This cologne is a beast in its wear and the nose amnesia is real. You will still be able to smell the cologne on the spots sprayed, but you are incapable of knowing how much of a radius that it truly covers and the magnitude of it. For spraying on clothing, try to use a half spray and be aware that it will last for days on end. For skin, direct application should be very seldom. The best method I've found to wear this and not offend others in diverse settings is to use a Q-tip. I'll contain a partial spray to a Q-tip and tap once onto my wrists, neck, and onto my chest. It sounds insane and underwhelming in the application, but it's been the best dose that I've found. I cannot recommend enough to test this cologne on loose items to get the timing and wear right. Because of the nose wear, don't make the mistake of re-freshening once the smell has worn in your mind. It is absolutely still there. I personally love this smell and could wear multiple sprays, but I am considerate of my surroundings and want others to love it the way that I do.

Rating: 10/10
Because of the uniqueness and strength, I give this cologne a 10/10. The 1.7 oz will last many years and for all reasons above, this is the top of my collection as of now. I love the way this scent puts me in a trance.

Sirkamal

The best perfume I ever had to put on my nose, period

roujeh

An oud version of this would cause an earthquake in the fragrance world. I usually layer this with pure oud and turns intoxicating in the worst way possible.

The DZ

I'm still wrapping my head around this one, but sprayed it on a washcloth for test and it could be smelled through the whole house. I then put it in a drawer of my dresser which is inside of a closet, closed that closet door and left for 8 hours. When I returned home I immediately smelled Megamare in the air.

The power of this is some step beyond nuclear. Absolutely overpowering, which is why my enjoyment of the fragrance itself is conflicted with the feeling that I just can't wear it practically anywhere without upsetting a ton of people, even myself.

Shpeeep

There is something unexpectedly buttoned-up about this scent. I'm not an office worker or a yacht owner, but those are the top two places I feel like I should wear this. It's aquatic but in a kind of 'niche candle company does ocean breeze for the bathroom' kind of way. I get more white floral than citrus even from the opening. The dry down is beachy with some salt and wet sand but much cleaner than I expected given some hype around the seaweed notes that I had read - I don't smell 'oh no the beach is covered in seaweed today yuck' in this at all. I definitely want my partner (who does work in an office, and is a bit of a beach loving guy) to try the rest of this sample, as I am more than happy to smell it but don't really identify with anything about it for myself. Can't speak to the longevity on clothing, as I was very careful not to get it in contact with textiles due to the reputation it has for never coming out.

GUYS IS THIS BATCH OK? STILL STRONG? OR REFORMULATED? 🤔🤔
🔥🔥🔥BATCH 03195🔥🔥🔥

Ground hound

An avalanche perfume...Starts off as a relaxed laundry-clean, aquatic, sweet light citrus but then all the spicy ambroxan side comes out, and I mean Erba Pura/Arabians Tonka spicy that would make your nose burn.
I personally like how they did not let the aquatic note land as another generic scent, it`s being wrapped, unwrapped, tossed and turned by/with unlikely- but tasteful- ingredients.
As a person who cooks with all sorts of seaweed, I smell no seaweed here or at least no photorealistic seaweed.
Clean, powdered, aquatic, spicy, a bit musky but far from old-fashioned.
May be too much if you don`t like the nuclear spice/pepper effect ambroxan.

I unscrewed the spritzer on the sample bottle and just wiped the stem on my wrists. Maybe a few drops worth. Just instant love. I love everything about this scent. It's like musky cold rain, near the water, reminds me of summer. Slightly ozonic and compels me to take a deep relaxing breath. This just lasts and lasts and lasts. The few drops on my wrist creates a bubble around me. My wife said it was too strong just from that. Took a shower later that night, still smelled it and had a scent bubble.

Following morning I sprayed Armaf Club de nuit parfum. That is no slouch and itself lasts all day. Day after that I sprayed ADG Profondo and by then totally forgot about Megamare.

Day 4, I didn't put on anything. Started getting whiffs of the Megamare again. Totally dumbfounded it could last that long but it amazingly did.

The longevity of this is out of control - and I love it.

Pr3zzY

I’ve tested it yesterday in store and oh my god. Although a lot of people seem to dislike it with a passion. I was pleasantly surprised.

Immediately after spraying it on the paper strip, the strong smell hit my nose. At first it was kind of weird for a few seconds and that’s why I understand why some people hate it. But after a few seconds of smelling it, I found something in it that I like. It was the first time smelling something that has the note of seaweed and to my nose it smelled kinda nutty and spicy, similar to Sauvage Elixir’s or BR540 Extrait nuttiness. I wouldn’t say it’s an amazing summer scent, i’d probably wear it during a summer night or even early to mid spring because it’s super strong. I can still feel it strong on my hand more than 24 hours later and what seemed crazy for me, is the fact that it still project from my jacket sleeve. Keep in mind that it barely touched the sleeve because I sprayed on hand and i also took a shower today.

To sun things up, it’s a beautiful masterpiece and it’s definitely something i’m considering adding to my collection in the future. Of course the price is not friendly at all for a 50ml bottle but because of the powerhouse, of the art and of the story this fragrance is, I can definitely understand it

aryan_mahbub

I layering this with TF Rose De Russie & a nice aquatic rose bubble covered me all day long!

Ramikhwan

This smells amazing, however the longevity on this is too much. If you spray on a clothing item, it last for months. That’s annoying when you have many fragrances to wear as the smell of Megamare will still be on the clothes you will wear.If you choose to only use this scent then it would be perfect.

P.s even if you just spray on your neck, it will get on your clothes.

Smell:9/10
Projection:10/10
Longevity:100/10 (too much)

Tshahb

Hideous ambroxan-bomb opening, but after an hour or so (too long?) the magic unfolds.

I get the synthetic marine smells, but also something warm, spicy and sweet. It ebbs and flows and changes with the skin temperature. Very interesting and beguiling.

It bears more than a passing resemblance to Uncut Gem.

My main issue with this is the monstrous performance and the noseblindness. Remember how bad it smells when you first smell it, then remember that everyone who comes across you will not be noseblind to the nuclear amount of ambroxan, then remember how fucking awful Sauvage smells when people are wearing it on public transport... I can't help feeling that's what I'm doing to people when I wear this, even though my noseblindness is conning me into liking it.

Don't get it on your clothes though, it'll never come off.

Blizznakov

OMG Megamare, where have you been. Okay I'll start from the presentation. The box is little different from normal boxes. It opens like a flower's blossom and the bottle is nested in the middle. The bottle has very good design and the sprayer is top notch, but i have some desires for the cap. It would be better is it was magnetic or clicked into place. It has kinda cool design but it's a little hard to pull it and place it sometimes. Longevity and projection are nuclear, but this doesn't mean that you won't go noseblind or that you will like the scent. But trust me your will not be disappointed by the performance. It's the best performing summer fragrance I've ever tried.
The scent is incredible. Yes its synthetic, but not in bad way. For my nose it smells just like fresh seawater on the beach at night. Manny people don't feel the same way so i would advise to test it before buying. If you like D&G Light Blue eua Intense you will most likely love Megamare. The other downside is the price, but 50ml will last you a lifetime if you have a collection.

I am experienced and i always buy original fragrance.
I only rate fragrances which i tested for at least a month in different environment and with different people. Also i am spraying them on my girlfriend (she hates it) to test if i go nose blind to them and to see if it feels different on someone else's skin.
I always give my honest opinion.

I was expecting something much more avant garde based on some of the melodramatic reviews I'd read before getting my hands on a sample of Megamare, but the actual scent is lovely. It doesn't smell of rot, garbage or whatever people are saying at all. It's fresh and unique—and just a bit overpowering, admittedly.

I'd love to have a small bottle.

yayaaroma

i would love to smell this on a man.. its a very unique spin on aquatic profile. it smells cozy. i got a sample with a perfume purchase.. longevity and sillage is great i feel like a man wearing this would make me want to hug him lol super uniqueee. linear in that it does not change much as it dries down. def not as bad as a few of these reviews are saying i guess you just have to be into aquatic, mineral, marine vibes with a fresh and musky twist. I could see this fitting for any occasion as well. I hope my future man likes this lol cause I loveee this but dont know if i would wear it much if i bought it for myself.

pedroquadros

Idk if I got nose blind or my fragrance is weak but i can just get a faint whiff of it when I use it, I don’t see why ppl say it’s polarizing because for me it’s a pleasant aquatic fragrance, unique salty character though, 7/10

Marlachite

Too much of something is not good. Smell of beach's gust is great, being drowned in the ocean for 48 hours is not. The flaccon is unique I must admit and uniqueness is not for the masses, so be prepare for complains when using this.

oscar discua

MeguminLikesExplosives

Disgusting squid feces smell, i hate it with passion.
Repulsive, pungent, vomit inducing and hard to wash off.
I literally prefer bug spray over this smell. I sprayed once from a 1ml decant and threw it away.

Noahkrs

An indescribable beast mode scent, of all the scents I’ve tried this is the strongest one, a powerhouse salty, aquatic, synthetic, pungent blend, definitely not a blind buy, hard to describe, it’s not pleasant, but not horrible, the late dry down is 100% better than initial spray.
Be wary of megamare

JonnyFrags

Say what you want about this fragrance but it’s probably the strongest fragrance to ever be created and that in and of itself is very impressive.

It doesn’t smell like what people in these negative comments make it out to be. It’s a very aromatic, salty, marine-like and ozonic fragrance. There are many fragrances out there that smell like actual death and this definitely isn’t one of them.

A staple to my collection that I will never get rid of or need another bottle for that matter given how god damn strong this is. You only need one spray to last the entire day and then some.

Arber Cami

This smells very weird (like almost all Orto Parisi fragrances) - salty fish/algae mixed with oriental warm spices and a heavy projecting synthetic ambroxan note. Longevity and projection are nuclear unfortunately. Sample before buying please.

Dumbplings

Picture this... A pirate ship sailing in the ocean, but the pirates are indian and they eat curry on the ship and their sweat smells like fenugreek. The person below me who said it smells like fenugreek, now I can't unsmell that...

Sea salt with the wood of a pirate ship that's been in the ocean, probably has a lot of algae and seaweed on the pirate ship. It doesn't smell fishy, it smells marine and green. Then combine that with a headache inducing amount of ambroxan.

Bigsam

My asshole smells better than this fragrance wallahi

Az-316

This is smells like fenugreek with hint of aquatic notes… mmm it not bad but also not so good .. wired

leonit

Orto Parisi's Megamare is a powerful ode to the sea, offering an intense and long-lasting experience. Its robust aquatic essence captures the freshness of ocean waves with remarkable longevity. This scent isn't for the faint-hearted but is perfect for those seeking a bold, invigorating fragrance that embodies the strength of the sea. Megamare by Orto Parisi is an exceptional choice for those who appreciate a commanding yet refreshing scent profile.

fantaisiedeparfums

When I first smelled this I thought "wow this is really nice and marine with an uplift feel" then an hour into the dry down and this felt like I was drowning inside a deep dark cave in the ocean with marine life and seaweed. Insane projection and longevity and one of my all time favourites

romanoff1701

I was looking for an alternative to Tom Fords "Oud Minerale". While this is an aquatic scent, which certainly is unique, it is no substitution for my beloved Oud Minerale.

Megamare is still a great (although slightly synthetic) scent. I enjoy wearing it. It smells very pleasant. People have been coming up to me asking about the fragrance and telling me how good it smells.

Please do not overdo it though, one, max. two sprays are more than enough. It lasts forever and the flies will drop to the ground if you overspray :-)

Enjoy this unique scent. Do not blind buy.

When I smell it the thought of smelling the bottom of the sea immediately comes to mind, aquatic through all of it as expected but with depth which many aquatics lack, the slight backbone of sea weed sweetness with the musk gives it the feeling of a heavy scent which I really like

Not a huge fan of aquatic fragrances but this one really works well, but if you were to smell the bottom of the sea this is how I would imagine it

LizzyFawn

DariaFrancesca74

The sea in its majestic immensity, its unmistakable breeze, its aquatic and kaleidoscopic composition enclosed in a magical bottle. Megamare is the fifth essence of marine fragrances, the sea in its visceral essence, strong and salty notes alternate in a magical alchemical minuet of rare and sophisticated balance. The temporal olfactory experience evolves into a magnificent and fresh triumph of clean and fresh notes, like laundry hanging out in the sun by the sea in atmospheres dazzled by the light and summer heat and by the incisive salty notes. Yet another masterpiece of artistic perfumery by Alessandro Gualtieri.

Who is the 48 person they have problem with the longevity?
I have up to 2 days on my skin and up to 1 week (summer days up to 2 week) on my clothes!
I think, they have fake bottles.

Does anyone have a problem with performance ?
Because I bought i tester that is not as strong performer as the people say its just good, not a beast mode at all

I love niche aquatic and marine fragrances. Some of my favorites are Sarah Baker Atlante, DS Durga Rockaway Beach, Andy Tauer Phtaloblue, Acqua di Sale , Creed Erolfa, Les Indemodables Ambre Supreme. I love real ambergris, algae, and seaweed absolute. This one however, I feel indifferent. It's not bad, but not anything that excites me, and I am generally a fan of A.G. creations.

Here we have MASSIVE doses of ambrocenide, ambroxan, and several other aroma chemicals dosed more moderately, which lends to the legendary performance of older batches. I think it's been reformuated and toned down. I'm told by perfumer friends it's a minor miracle and surely took months or years of trial and error just to create a stable formula that also projects using these mega doses.

To me, this smells like a 90's style synthetic aquatic marine. I'm not averse to synthetics like calone and ambrox but this feels like too much. Give me at least some naturals; white or gray ambergris, and real seaweed absolute. I sold my bottle after testing periodically over the course of a couple of months.

Just wasn't for me, but I respect the art and hard work that went into this.

This perfume has grown on me, when I first tried it on I was not even gonna buy it from first impressions but I still ended up getting it, after a couple hours the scent from the first spray grew on me, it became more dark and musky. It changes from a really sweet, aquatic (quite unpleasant) scent to a darker, musky, hints of oud scent. I really like this, I think it just needs the time to marinate. Also this perfume is soooo strong to the point where it says two washes in washing machine to get the scent off, keep in mind that I only usually put two sprays of this perfume. Overall this is a perfume which will have lots of mixed opinions but I love it for both the smell and longevity

Fragranceheadd

This has to be one of the perfume I have ever smelled in my entire life this is soooo gooooooooooood

reppon97

I've heard some guy say "This smells like you've been thrown in a cold, deep ocean in the night" and I agree with it. Not a safe blind buy. Kinda has seaweed smell to it.
Beastly performance, 12+ hours easily. Can be a signature fragrance since it's so unique

Christian Cantelli

A masterpiece of the Italian niche perfumery, art in a bottle. It must be said: it is a GORGEOUS perfume, yes, good good good. If you find it, smell it for yourself without being misled by the reviews; it's like having Sardinia in your pocket: Mediterranean scrub vegetation, aromatic plants, clear skies, summer. I've read so much nonsense about this perfume that I was really very biased against it, before trying it, but the genie came out of the bottle and slapped me in the face, as soon as I sprayed it. Megamare is not salty, Megamare is not aquatic, inside Megamare there is no sea... but what do you want to call it? Mega coast? Mega Mediterranean coastal scrub vegetation? Inside it I can smell the Myrtle and that wild plant that has the characteristic smell of licorice, the Helichrysum, then algae and the metallic taste that the sea saltiness leaves in your mouth when you sniff it. Yet it seems to be almost completely artificial, according to Aaron Terence Hughes it is based on Cashmeran and a series of synthetic ambers such as Ambermax, Amber Extreme, Ambrocenide, Ambrettolide, then there are Norlimbanol and Calone; the only natural components, according to him, are a little sandalwood and lemon. But the evocative power of this creation, or rather creature, is undeniable and transcends its very own composition. After the first spray in the perfumery my nose and my brain went haywire, I sensed coconut, cucumber, unthinkable things. Then nothing else, the dark, in five minutes it caused me anosmia. But soon it came back, as strong as before, reappearing as if it were a wave of the sea, or rather a whiff of odors carried by the wind. It lasts a long time, but I don't find it so invasive, it's just that it's addictive, you seek for it with your nose, you often go back to your wrist to smell it, to understand it. Then the nose shuts down, goes on strike, makes it disappear. That's how it works. Many people like this perfume and it's so widespread because it's good, there's no point being a snob: many people like chocolate too, so what should we do? Shall we go back to eating carobs? I don't think so. Personally, unexpectedly, I love it and it fits like a glove on my skin, it transforms into my natural smell, it settles down and marries my body. Wearing a perfume has never been more comfortable.

Not your typical blue scent. It is very aquatic, but in the most animalic way. It's salty and pungent (I'm assuming an algae accord), but in the most unique way possible. It's a beautiful fragrance, but I think it requires a specific occasion.

this. fragrance. just. won't. quit.

I cannot speak on the atomizer since I got a 1ml dab-on tester, but the very little that I put on has stayed strong past the 12 hour mark. It's so strong I've become annoyed by it. You'd probably only need one spray for the whole day (and even then, I dare say it would still be really strong). I don't think you'd be able to layer anything on top or under this.

I’m on bottle number 4. Nuff said

I have tried a lot of fragnances.A niche ones...
Everything good actually.
This one is like enormous projection and logetivity.
You stop to feeling it but my friend with megamare on beach bar 5-7ft away from me smells like megamare more than 8-9 hours.
I think this fragnance is for outside and for a crowdy places.
On my shirt like 2 washes ....
This is epic!!!
Megamare is beastmode.

Watchthethrone

why is there no accords???

Not sure whether I've got a sample from a reformulated batch, but this vanishes on my skin after a few hours. And it's not nose-blindness - my wife can't smell it either after a few hours. I even tested it in a store to make sure my decant wasn't a dud. Nice opening, then nothing.

Could be something in the Orto Parisi line that doesn't react with my body chemistry, as I got the same effect from Cuoium, which is supposed to be another beast. Maybe Orto Parisi just isn't for me...

A lot of things have been said about this one so I won't flog those horses.

I will say I have been complimented again and again, have been chased down and waited for in parking lots by people who are in love with the delicious musk in this scent.

I live in a hot area, so YMMV, but don't miss the forest for the trees here.

I grew up living my summers on various beaches. This really smells like a day by the sea. All of it though. The waterlogged wood, pungent algae, salt sticking on your skin shining with sweat. The dry sand infiltrating everything at the end of the day. I think I’d do a bottle of this.
