This is a GROWN cherry scent, a great choice for special occasions. Neither violet or violet leaves were listed here, but to me, both were very prominent in Amarena. The powdery, airy and ozonic touch to the cherry note is just brilliant.

Le Gemme Amarena
(USD 50, 50 ml. left, 20E73AR5)

As first, I really quite have a hope for this.
As the bottle looks extremely enigmatic, magical spelling.
Daniela (Roche) Andrier is the perfumer, I know it must be soapy base.
And you known, Ms. Daniela's signature accord.
I hope for a little twist but man I do ask too much.

Amarena, start of with Sour watery cherry accord and strong tuberose note.
And rose warp everything up, everything is on something that a bit powdery soapy.

And that's all you can get. I mean even for the price I get.
I still feel a bit sad for full retail price, I wonder how bad my feelings must be.

The good point is Amarena still manage to show me to rose successfully.
It is the neon pink rose that quite beautiful overall but not juicy enough.
Leans Lush more than Elegant. overall, It is an ok scent for me.

I completed my hunt for the cherry note. Bought 10 fragrances famous for cherry.

Amarena in Italian means bitter cherry. I am not sure if many people do really know what is that. I tried it many times in Ukraine when I was young. It is almost wild cherry tree. The fruit is rather sour and may be bitter so much, that it is impossible to eat. Also it is more watery. The cheery we have in the shop are sweet and dense in flesh.

In BL Amarena, the cherry note is not bitter, it is rather sour and watery. Also rose is rather strong. As all Bvlgari Gemme line, Amarena is super polite, very close to the skin with fair longevity. And massive price tag - yes.

It is also good to compare perfumes on the same theme all together. I will issue the video on the Youtube with the comparison when I do more work on wearing all 10 cherry perfumes with wrist to wrist test. So far I can tell you that:
- Amarena does not have Tonka notes like BDK Smoking Rouge
- It has no almond comparing with TF Lost Cherry and Fendi L'Acquarossa;
- It has less powdery notes than Ramon Monegal Cherry Musc and Salvatore Ferragamo Sublime;
- It is less watery than So Sweet by Lolita Lempicka, Cartier Delices and Charriol Imperial Ruby;
- It has more rose than any perfume mentioned above.

It is probably the most beautiful of all 10 (if we do not commens on the longevity and price), but still not the proper representation of cherry I am looking for. Cherry is one the trickiest notes in perfumery and I am still awaiting our genius perfumers to create a perfect one.

I tried Amarena hoping for more tuberose. It is more rose and cherry than anything else. It's not offensive in any way, but not special either.

Nikkafragrance

Nothing too fancy. I tested it, attracted by the bottle and expected the juice inside it to be enigmatic too. Well, it's mainly cherry and rose. Starts with sour cherry that lasts for many hours, the next day is a soapy rose scent and today it's just fresh and simple rose. Great longevity, moderate silage and unfortunately no tuberose for me. I would call it plain.

Smells like plastic. The most terrible thing I've got my nose on. Even the cheapest soap smells better.

Baseeta

Soft elegance of the tuberose, the sophistication of the rose, with the sweetness of the cherry keeping this fun and sweet and approachable.

Buys

Fell in love with this in the store. Tested it, allowed to settle and came back to buy. Comes with a massive price tag and very poor sillage, wasn't detectable even 2 to 3 hours after applying.

Mellyhelly

Tried today as I asked for something with rose at the Bvlgari's counter and the SA immediately pushed this Amarena which in its name (black cherry) is a little bit misleading. Only 2 notes? The SA told it also contains black cherry. Who knows... I smelled something sweet-fruity in the opening, not bad, then it's all about faint flowers: rose and tuberose.
The rose is very beautifully rendered here in its centifolia gentleness.
I wish it was stronger but this one wears very faint on my skin. Sweet and feminine and nicely blended but faint.
All in all this line is more about a modern post-forbidden materials way. Not old-school enough for me.

LANIER

The Pink Tourmaline is a spitfire stone from Brazil, and at Bvlgari they call her, Amarena. In Italian, Morello Cherry. She is all about heat and glamour and a big bold flower in her hair. This fragrance sambas on the skin to a wonderful tune created by the notes of Amarena Cherry, Violet, Rose Centifolia and Tuberose. This is a glamorous floral that becomes more entrancing after the sun sets. In fact there is a rather playful war of the roses going on here. A tug of war between the temperamental rose and the heavy lidded languorous tuberose. But as you move into the fragrance the two kiss and make up ending in a rather intricate sexy tango. For a winter seduction under the stars in the Borghese gardens wrapped in chinchilla. Well look no further, is your arsenal of love.
