Very peppery, soft and inoffensively smokey. The rose, black pepper, patchouli, and mulberry are the main ingredients my nose picks up on. It leans more towards feminine but does have a masculine vibe to it. Upon dry down it smells a little bit like Nivea cream. It's an okay fragrance but lacks some contrast to make it truly unique. I feel like you can find multiple perfumes that smell exactly like this

Hunter222

Years ago, I worked in a high end lingerie boutique. 19yr old lil me didn’t even know there were bras for $300. I Loved unpacking new stock. I will never forget the way that rich, pristine Italian silk robe felt. (I twirled around the store in it of course)
The box this potion comes in, that would be the fabric design, & she’d smell just like this.
Unmistakably luxurious, unquestionable quality. Smouldering/brooding style sexy. My skin loves it, lasts well, great bottle, and is it just me or does this have a unique mister? Really fine & smooth. I got a great deal & there was two left. Rookie mistake lol.
I imagine this would be an easy/welcome gift idea.

mellie999

pretty but didn't last more than an hour or so

Aleara

Hedonistic elegance this is such a sexy fragrance it is so lush and scrumptious. I have several other perfumes that feel similar to me this and hypnotic poison are my favourites as a sucker for a oriental floral this hits that spot right on the nose. Expect to be complimented.

Praices

I love this one so much

Menna kastan

OMG !! This is luxury in a bottle 😍 chic and expensive scent ♥️

Nesma95

I absolutely LOVE this perfume. A classy yet captivating scent. Feminine without being sweet. It’s very soft with understated sophistication.

emilia123

This one surprised me, I really like it from the sample I tried. I'm usually one to stay away from anything even remotely close to a "mature" label, but this scent perfectly draws an air of sophistication without being too mature or "old lady"-like. I just wish it projected better and lasted longer because this scent (and the bottle) are so beautiful.

Luckyrose

Beautiful beautiful beautiful scent! This scent stands proudly on her own and sets herself apart from the majority scents.

I can imagine - sexy elegant woman, italian cobbled streets, few glasses of wine deep ,cosy dimmed dinner date.

Please DO NOT discontinue this beauty!

chimidoro

Peppery spiced & creamy tuberose with a fresh peony and airy jasmin heart, on a deep berry & smooth patchouli base.

Pretty strong off the bat. Unapologetically feminine. Dries down to a baby powdery finish, within 4 hours.

Puts me in mind of the original Dita Von Teese fragrance in the black bottle and Night of Fancy by ANNA SUI.

Cathped

Not my type of perfume. Too patchouli heavy. Smells like a chewy liqorice sweet. I imagine a rich older European madam wearing this.

Update:
Actually its not so bad if I only spray one spray on me

Vanillastorm40

Oh wow. I really like this! I found a sample in my drawer and looked up the notes and thought, meh. But when I tried it on my skin, it really bloomed into something really pretty, feminine, classy. I definitely get the tuberose above most of the other notes. It's the same type of tuberose in Michael Kors Michael. Fleshy tuberose. Looking at the "This reminds me of" section, I can tell you that this smells nothing like Chance or Coco Mademoiselle. This smells nothing like anything I've ever smelled. It's a good one. But I agree with many of these comments that the sillage and longevity does suck.

Dani83

I absolutely love this it smells so classy and actually smells like Italy 🇮🇹 and rich bitch vibes so upset that it had been discontinued I only have one bottle left now which I opened the other day so now I will only spray small amounts and when I get halfway it will retire to my perfume graveyard of other discontinued scents I love

goldearth

I agree with other reviewers that Goldea Roman Night is a sophisticated fragrance and suitable for office. It's a pleasant floral, tuberose/jasmine scent. Does not last long, even on fabric and I doubt other people could smell it from me.

The fragrance truly has a high class, "old money" and mature feel; but it's also very modern and suitable for women in their 20s as well. A safe buy fragrance.

Yogamomny17

This perfume could be beautiful, however it doesn’t last. It disappears so quickly that it doesn’t even have a chance to develop before it evaporates to nothing. If it lasted it could be an 8.5 out of ten. That’s how much I enjoy the initial spritz but I don’t get to experience anything after not even an hour even with over spraying.

For the price point I feel like it’s a ripoff. It’s unfortunate that it performs like dollar store body spray because the scent itself is very good but not even worth going into the notes because it seriously lacks performance!!!

I try to give fair reviews but trust me on this one go ahead and pass over this one. You have been warned. I spent 45$ at TJ MAX and I only wish I could return it.

It doesn’t even last that well on clothing. I think I will use it as a way to fragrance my fall and winter outerwear when I don’t want to actually fragrance my skin.

What a bummer!! This would be gorgeous if only it lasted at least three hours I could give it a like but this is unacceptable especially from a house like Bvulgari.

Dazed_and_confused

Smells like a rich lady - the one that has perfectly styled hair, wears black slacks and silk blouses and caries a Givenchy bag. Not super interesting or unique, but nice and classy. Elegant, can be used at any point during the day. A safe blind buy.

gabkins

I believe I chose this for the inclusion of Jasmine, and I don't really get much of it. So if you're someone who likes a bit of jasmine in your perfumes, this isn't it. Maybe it blends in too much with the other florals... "white floral" does ring through but jasmine inparticular does not.

I don't get the fruitiness of the mulberry either, even though it's the primary note? I do smell black pepper and bergamot though, which are nice with the musk and white florals.

Like others have said, it does smell elegant and is non-intrusive for people who want to wear something to the office and not bother anyone. It could be for daytime or evening. To me it could be worn in any season, but maybe a bit heavy for summer (cooler summer nights perhaps?).

Cherrybubble

Lovely musky scent, classy and soft. Starts off with a gentle spice then the white flowers and musk come through in the dry down. A safe office type perfume. Its a pity its so fleeting but I will be trying on clothing to see how it performs before giving up on this one.

Aiga1

Pretty scent, mature yet not vintage, old money scent. But unfortunately doesn't last as long as I'd expected.

Nichole FZA

Elegant, sophisticated floral scent. Very feminine. A safe fragrance for work and date. It's inoffensive and mass pleasing without being too familiar (think Black Opium, LVEB). On skin the performance is quite weak but as an oversprayer and someone who spray on clothes more than on skin, this can be considered as eternal to me, it lasts all day on my clothes.

PinkHydrangea

I love the Goldea line and Goldea the Roman Night is my favourite. It reminds me of a summer night at the mediterranean coast. On me it starts with bergamot and mulberry, I don't get any pepper. As it develops jasmine takes center stage and bergamot is still noticeable. Then it dries down to a soft musk and patchouli.
The performance is not the greatest, on me it is noticeable for about 4 hours then it becomes a skin scent and even before that it doesn't have big sillage.
I don't know if it is just my bottle or not but, I noticed the sprayer sprays slower and longer compared to all my other bottles and I seem to be going through this faster than my other perfumes.

Praices

I like it but not sure is for me. I. An picture it as a signature fragrance for a mature woman.

Comicalcupcake

Fun scent for going out. If you wore Gucci Rush and now you’re in your 30s, this is what to wear for ladies night or wine tasting. For me it’s hard to pick out individual notes because it’s well blended between the fruit and the chypre. I would describe it as sweet, dark, and slightly dirty.
Edit: I blind tested a sample of this, not knowing the name or seeing the black bottle, and the soft floral aspect came out a lot more for me this time. I still enjoy it but would recategorize it as a dressy spring scent.

AutumnJewel

Note For Myself: Mulberry pepper patchouli musk.
Smells great but not unique

Great fall or winter scent. Longevity is 9/10

ElleZ

“Elegant”, is what first comes to mind. It’s simple, nice and inoffensive, which to some mean boring but suits me just fine. She’s no vixen, but she is gorgeous.

I get mulberries and musk, sweet but not too sweet, creamy and velvety. I don’t get a lot of the other notes, but I think they probably just elevate the mulberry/musk for me. I should say that for some reason top notes often escape me, especially citruses. I also don’t get the saltiness some of you mention.

Edit: I actually get some pepper in the dry down, and I find the dry down less sweet.

Mistress Eva

Firstly, I am a fan of Bvlgari fragrances. They make great office perfumes and my husband rocks Man in Black and its various flankers. Given the ratings and notes of Goldea The Roman Night, I thought it would make a nice addition to the lighter side of my collection. Unfortunately, it will not have a permanent place of my shelves.

Goldea The Roman Night has no longevity whatsoever on me--skin or clothes. It loses what little olfactory energy it has within 15-30 minutes of application. I cannot apply enough to get a better result. Unfortunately, with such poor performance, nonexistent sillage, and frail composition, I cannot properly describe the notes or what it evokes when I wear it. The most I can say is that it opens with a timid cloud of soft florals and bergamot, before immediately losing momentum. I doused my clothes and skin about 30 minutes ago, yet I can smell the cotton clothing fiber of my shirt with greater clarity than the perfume. Weird.

Given the other reviews I've read and the ratings it's been given, your experience may be quite different than mine. I am certain I didn't get a counterfeit, but I wonder if I got a weak batch. I know Bvlgari can be / is better than this...I've never had one of their fragrances underwhelm so much. I'm hesitant to discourage others from trying it, because my experience may be an anomaly. However, if you find it to be a major underperformer, you are not alone.

Overall rating: n/a - I don't feel like I even put on any perfume, so its like trying to rate nothing.

LSAUG

This starts off w/ a bit of black pepper and bergamot mingled in w/ mulberry. There is a bit of plastic kind of smell w/ the mulberry that I don't care for, but luck has it, it goes away to reveal a very pretty jasmine perfume. It is a nice jasmine in the heart of the fragrance but as it dries down it becomes very heavy w/ peony, mingled w/ tuberose and moss and musk. The dry down is the best part of this fragrance.

Edit: 5/13/22 I rotated this out of my collection. I gave it to the waitress of the luncheonette we frequent. Her boss says I'm her Santa Claus LOL. She is such a sweet girl and I like giving her these perfumes along w/ her regular tip. It's fun to make people happy and brighten their day.

LZed

I was hoping for a dark floral fruit with spicy nuances and it is pretty much that but more floral than fruit or spice. The dark berry note is fleeting and jasmine is prominent. Not sure of the difference between “night blooming jasmine” and regular jasmine but maybe night blooming jasmine has a sliiiiightly smokier, headier scent? Or is that the pepper? Performance is quieter and closer to the skin compared to Elizabeth Taylor’s White Diamonds Night, which is a similar fruit/night jasmine combination but that’s the understated Morillas blendedness. It’s a subtle lean-in fragrance.

The little 30ml bottle is cute and fits the Roman aesthetic with the dark glass and clear sides that catch the light, like a tiny angry shield.

Aleccsei

Quite interessting fragrance, feminine, fruty and elegant, mature yet playful. It is however too suttle and not 'loud' enough for me (which I expected because of the Eau de Parfume Absolute).

ilayda

Very classy and mature, smells like old money. Definitely a nice elegant fruity white floral. I smell strong notes of black pepper and bergamot in the initial spray but it is quickly followed by the fruity hints from the mulberry, which is subtly sweet but most certainly not edible nor gourmand. there is a nice musky woody note from the moss and vetiver that i really enjoy with the mulberry to make a nice musky forest type scent. I wish I could smell the rose a little heavier and I also wish they used turkish rose rather than classic rose to add some floral sweetness as classic rose is a little too mature and powdery and makes my nose itch.

Dakota22

Another classy Bvlgari. The mulberry is sweet, not gourmand, the rose, patch, and tuberose are beautifully blended. Just lovely. Lasted 4 hours, and 10 hours later still a skin scent. Only rated 3.83 on Fragrantica? I don't get it.

Patrice 123

Lovely scent, but the longevity is terrible. Glad I only got 1 oz... once I use up this bottle, I will not be re-purchasing.

Alexandra.kom

i was so excited about this since my favourite memories are linked to nightblooming jasmin. Oh boy i did not expected what i smelled... It's white floral alright but as soon as the jasmin try to open up you smell a really intense saltiness!!! It is not very good on my skin , reminds me the saltiness of wood sage & sea salt by jo malone .

It is not for me , it is not a perfume you can blind buy as "white floral"

Aromantra

What a feminine, flirty scent. A soft fruity-musky-chypre that is suitable for most occasions. To me the most detectable notes are the mulberry, peony & black musk - with mulberry being the star here.
It develops into a skin scent within 30 minutes and has such a beautiful dry down. A perfect 2nd skin fragrance that is sensual/intimate and sits close to the skin.

LadyM

Where to start... The perfume itself is very feminine and elegant. What I get is a mixture of musk, mulberry, and rose. I prefer to use it in the evening and colder weather: late-night date or girls night out. It gives this cozy feeling of something intimate and sensual.

However, the longevity and silage are SO WEAK! Bvlgari what happened to you while creating Roman Night? I didn´t try other perfumes from the Goldea line, but this one is almost like spraying luxury body mist. You get this amazing bomb of the volatile moment of sexiness, but right after you just wonder where it disappeared.

I got Goldea Roman Night as a gift. Do I like it? I LOVE IT! Would I buy it again? No! ...Just for the record, it reminds me of Chanel Chance Eau de Toilette.

Rotten Rebel

I recently did a review of Goldea The Roman Night on my Youtube "Rotten Rebel"

This (to me) is mostly a musky floral with a sweet touch with jasmine and tuberose being the two most prominent floral notes.

The floral side is nice and beautiful and the sweet fruity side blends perfectly with the florals.

Musk and patchouli brings it’s a soft and seductive feeling and it all comes together in a great way.
To me this is a mix of something elegant and sexy.

I like it and I think this is an underrated fragrance for women that most people will like!

FrkFors

Very, very weak... 👎 But still, the fleeting moment you get with this is exquisite.

Rcaine

Initially I smelled a slight fruitiness from the berries... and some florals. An hour in and that fruitiness had mellowed and I noticed the florals and a slight musky amber, more... which I find quite pleasant.
3 hours in and it faded nicely to a light musky floral. On me, this lasts about 5 hours. I never really noticed any of the patchouli or oakmoses (which is far more noticeable in the Goldea Roman Nights Absolute version.)
This is probably a good year round fragrance, but I think it blooms the most, during warmer temps. I don't think it is "too similar" to the Goldea Roman Nights Absolute, which I find might be a bit more of a challenge to wear or totally unsuitable, for folks that are not fans of patchouli.

tashwakefield

Starts out much like Guerlain's La Petite Robe Noir Couture, but the dry down is almost instantaneous. It quickly becomes a soft skin scent, lovely low sillage. Buy the Intense if you want it to project more. A lovely fragrance for those days where you want a close warm scent. Would be lovely in the boudoir of a Romanesque Goddess x

Brighter44

I loved it at first but the opening smells like into the night by bath and body works very balsamic and spicy same accord. Dry down on TRN is more berry. Into the night is powdery. I own both and the scent is now too common. This one is stronger. Just boring mall smell now.

sejohnson77

This is lovely.. too bad it doesn't last.

carlahoffman

I was very surprised for it has a very soft opening considering the top notes. I had to spray twice as much just to smell it but then I really could. It a soft spicy scent with a undertone of the Bergamont on my skin, that worked into a very pretty floral scent that I really like, noticing the tuberose and the rose scent the most. Ending with a enticing smooth musky scent that is soft and appealing.

It has a soft sillage which would work great for work or small gatherings. It works really nice in this cold weather so not sure about warmer seasons other than night's maybe. I really don't think I would buy it again for I like a bolder scent but soft scents have there place and time. It lasted for up to 6 hours before I wanted to spray it again.

Wanted to add over the next few weeks I ended up liking it better. The notes work very well together developing in a nice perfume!!

ClassicsLover

Syrupy sweet opening evolves to a beautiful musky dry down. I am not a fan of berries, and if the opening didn't go away fast I would have washed this off. Thank goodness that changed and it became very floral. Then a heavy musk showed up and makes this frag dark, deep, and sensuous. That is also when I can smell the black pepper, which I didn't in the top notes. Not sure if I would purchase a bottle based off the sample I have as I really dislike the opening.

Tammesyoyo

I tried this. I don't really know how to explain this one it's nice enough but didn't wow me good safe choice for the office it didn't last very long. I feel it could be worn by a man too

sophiekoss

this opens with a heady combo of dark, jammy fruits and white florals, which didn't interest me too much - i found it similar to an amped-up version of burberry london. but the drydown is pure velvet. absolutely gorgeous, luxurious and enveloping and sweet without being overwhelming. it's deep florals with just a hint of musk and it is maybe the smoothest thing i've smelled on my skin yet. it comes down to a skin scent pretty quickly but i can't even be mad because it's so stunning when i do catch a whiff of it. if it holds up on the next couple wears, this one is 100% FB-worthy.

öbö

It smells like a strong, confident business woman. This disappears after 3 hours. So i dont think it's worth the price but I am going to use up mine.

Semiramiss

This scent goes left and right. It starts out all floral and sweet, with a dominant dark vanilla mulberry note without any tartness, and some Tuberose (on first whiff it reminds me a bit of Balahe by Leonard), but (too) quickly turns into a soft Coco Mademoiselle like airy veil infused with musk and shea butter. Almost as if Coco Mademoiselle was mixed with a few drops of Just Cavalli Her. Fans of Her should try this one, although it is much softer and closer to the skin.

soumayaela

This perfume was gifted to me by my husband, i was very excited because it was a BULGARI perfume, first one in my collection and the bottle looks amazing

Well, it smells divine: musky flowery rosy but at the same time has a masculine vibe, i guess from the vetiver, over all it's a very very clean scent BUT has nothing special to make this a WOW perfume or make this perfume stand out

Alsothe lasting power and longevity are so weak, it doesn't even last 1 complete hour, so sad for this brand! Come on bulgari!

It's a close to the skin type of perfume, you know you smell classy and elegant but no one else does, sillage is almost non existent!! Maybe i'm just used to beast mode perfumes like alien or poison, but in my opinion, when i buy expensive perfumes at least they should have a decent sillage right?

I reach to it sometimes after i shower, when i wanna smell nice but not fruity or sugary

Smell 6/10
Sillage 5/10
Longevity 5/10

Bad for a bulgari perfume!! 👎👎👎👎

Mona708

Rich, jammy goodness! The pepper, bergamot, musk, moss, vetiver, and patchouli do a wonderful job of keeping the sweetness of the mulberry and florals from dominating everything. It reminds me of Nest’s Indigo, but shorter lived and without the herbal bits and that brief waft of wet clean dirt.

JaneVanDerWoodsen

I really liked Goldea upon first application. I bought a large decant and panicked when I saw it was discontinued and on clearance so I jumped at a large full bottle. I think I would've been fine with just the decant. It smells great but it's lacking somewhere? The performance is weak, it takes 4-5 sprays and does not last more than a couple (maybe 2) short hours.

It's sweet dark slightly spicy berries, a little on the elegant side. I could see wearing this to a nice evening semi formal event. It's a beautiful for a fall/winter/summer night as it will not last throughout the day. I wanted to love it, but it just falls a bit short. Maybe if the performance was decent. The bottle is beautiful though, one of my favorites aesthetically.

InfinitEHorizoN

It is very easy to find who is spreading real or faux reviews below here, people that know a fragrance, or those that read through the notes/others reviews and copycat their words. It's fun to look at, for example, the word "plastic" hmmm I want to be in your world you silly people where plastic smells like Goldea The Roman Night!!!
Here is a tip to the genuine fragrance lovers, when reading other frag reviews look for colorful balloon symbols beside reviewers' images this will tell you it's a genuine review, the more ballons you see it's better.
Now about the fragrance, Goldea is an amazing white flower fragrance and its downfall is only weak performance, it doesn't last long enough. You won't be disappointed though, it is not a five hundred dollar fragrance, you can simply spray again a few hours later, it won't hurt anyone.

Daisy143

Smoky, rich, spicy, warm. Better than some of Blvgari's other scents. Did not last over 4 hours. I like this scent but with this not lasting I am glad to only have a mini.

Anamandy

This is pretty. Nothing spectacular, just simply pretty. I have tried three fragrances out of this line and don't think any are particularly outstanding. I have a travel sprayer from fragnet and while I think this is the nicest out of the three I have tried to date, I don't like it enough to invest in a full bottle. Some berries and a mixture of pretty florals. Unfortunately, no one flower note stands out. I was hoping the night blooming jasmine and tuberose would be a little more prominent, but they are not. I do enjoy the dry down but can only smell it when I sniff my wrist. Longevity is pretty poor too. I got about three hours out of this skin scent. I agree with others here about the name. When I think of a night perfume I think of something dramatic with good silage. This is more a day wear scent for me. This might be good for someone needing to wear something low key. Highly doubt it will offend anyone because I don't think many will be able to smell it. Pretty, but there are other perfumes in this genre that I like more that perform better.

esther722

When i sniff my wrist i get a beautiful blackberry smell and then burnt plastic comes in and ruins it.

Viktoria8267

This smells nice and lovely i wear this often, i think its classy and suits 24/7 all year around.a must among perfume lovers!!!

Nourhan

I tested it on my skin today, at first i got black opium vibes, then when it settled it smelt fresh, flowery and Soft. The sillage and longevity is good also, but I don’t think I will buy it as i am more into gourmand perfumes, but I might one day who knows

Chimmy

It is just a generic sweet scent for me. Disappointed. I can’t stand patchouli in here. A little bit powdery and plastic feeling.

manikaLewinsky

Its beautiful. Smells fancy and refined, but in a softish way. It would be a good blind buy if you like hints of spicy and floral and fancy. Very strong at first spray but it quickly settles down. Projection is not the greatest but i am basing this on 1-2 light sprays. but if someone is standing just a little closer than arms length to you with this amount on they will still smell it around you a few hours later. They will not smell it at arms length or further, even in the first hour.

PearlGarden

Musky and slightly sharp, sweet scent. A night-scent which is not too heavy and too 'in your face'. But, I would say it is all day perfume. Wear whatever you enjoy.
It is a pleasant perfume. There is no stand out scent, that dominates.
I would not define it as something unique or mesmerizing. As the overall scent is sweetness with musk. But it's definitely not a unpleasant musk, it's the perfect amount not to feel as it is overpowering or dominating. Definitely doesn't smell rich or expensive. I believe you could find cheaper scents that are much more exciting and unique. It almost feels like this perfume is pretty standard, made for the most crowd to like, and mirrors many perfumes on the mainstream shelves.
Not to offend anyone, I think this perfume would be great for someone who might not know exact notes or perfumes that they love, and would want a perfume that would be sweet.
It almost feels like there is nothing to review or write about this scent.

food.is_life

Very refined, beautiful, elegant, feminine, ideal for a date night somewhere outside. The longevity and projection are bad, that's why I'm recommending this fragrance for short, close encounters.

The Roman Night evokes the timeless endurance of the Eternal City. Prayers this night for all parts of Italy affected by the coronavirus outbreak.

Brighter44

It’s beautiful but in a festive Christmas smell kinda way. It reminds me of green Christmas fir candle with mulberries in the initial bast. It’s heavy but it turns very comforting. I detect cinnamon. I know that’s weird but the drydown smells like Angel Absilute and has a gourmand hint.

octobertragedy

This is such a stunning fragrance. Sultry, leathery, sensual, feminine and misterious. I love Bulgari's Goldea, but this is deeper, more voluptous and sooo luxuriant. Indeed, I find a similarity with Coco Mademoiselle, but this smells like its sexy, provocative, daring sister.
I got hooked on it the first time I smelled it. A very intriguing mix of flowers (tuberose, peony, jasmine), fresh citrus, green notes (mint, vetiver), leather and patchouli.
To me, this is one of the best fragrance from Bulgari. The kind of fragrance that I would buy over and over again, without getting bored of it.
I simply adore it...

—}—@ darlingbud

Anchor The Roman Night with a richly scented, vanillic cocoa butter cream to enrich the luscious drydown.

The fragrance is nice. The bottle is a work of art.

chinook

Golden The Roman Night opens up with a leather-like accord, and very sour citrus. The citrus is rather sharp and unnatural. Then it evolves into warm, dry florals that smells mostly of rose and something like a powdered drink mix. The base notes smell equally of patchouli, oakmoss, and vetiver. It’s only after i showered that i can smell the must.
Overall it feels really busy. I do like complex scents such as Angel, Shalimar, but Golden The Roman Night is a cacophony of notes, each competing with one another, not a symphony. There’s not a main character, nor does the accords take turn to shine. I feel like the concept may be good, but the blend is not the best. Sillage is close to skin, but does project to arm length if you apply more. I got complimented on it.

peppermoon

Goldea's opening is a somewhat irritating bugspray fruit-chouli with jasmine that smells like a lot of other mall scents. Something in its DNA is reminiscent of La Vie Est Belle, but with half the vanilla sugar. The heart notes on me are peony, patchouli and a tangy berry scent (not recognizable as specifically mulberry). I actually like the berry here. Some musk in the base, not animalic. I get less of a bugspray scent at this point and it's more pleasant but overall it's not really something I enjoy.

BlackAmberMoon

Top notes are spicy florals, dries down to a slightly sweet musk. I wasn't crazy about the opening, but the dry down is nice. This is not strong, but rather sits close to the skin, so it works for the office and casual evenings. It is not sultry, however. I much prefer the stronger, sweeter original.

Jasmin Noir is richer and a better choice if you want something sexy.

PNBP

for a person who loves young, floral, fresh and airy perfumes, i would never like this kinda perfume, idk how to describe this one but it's nectar sweet imo, however i start to like it as it's very seductive and mysterious scent for anyone wanna portray such image of a grown woman (im not trying to be a grown woman yet at the age of 27 lol) but still find it suitable to wear at nights, dates with any guy you're trying to flirt etc.

Goldea The Roman Night by Bvlgari has quite an intriguing name and very mysterious packaging. Just by looking at this fragrance, I half expected a dense, sultry fragrance on a bed of rich red roses and patchouli. Surprisingly, Goldea The Roman Night is quite airy and floral. I'm a little disappointed, to say the least.

Mulberry and night-blooming jasmine are the most dominant notes in this fragrance's composition. This fragrance is a wintry fruity floral to my nose. It's juicy, musky and somewhat sweet all rolled into one. It smells like a fruitier version of Chanel's Coco Noir on my skin.

The drydown is a tad richer than the opening with musky patchouli, oakmoss, pepper and rose. Had the perfumer further accentuated these accords, I may have enjoyed this flanker far more. I find Goldea The Roman Night a very thin, predictable fragrance with poor projection and longevity.

I personally prefer the original Goldea and Goldea Rose to this flanker. Bvlgari is known for their classic, easy-to-wear fragrances, and admittedly there aren't many perfumes from this house that really 'pack a punch'. Heavy orientals aren't their forte, so I'm not surprised that Goldea The Roman Night is on the lighter side of things.

Goldea The Roman Night definitely has its fans and I am pleased to see that it has worked for so many. I would definitely describe this fragrance as pleasant and inoffensive, despite its lack of originality. I eagerly anticipate the day that Bvlgari creates a 'heavy-hitter' oriental, but in so saying I do enjoy most of what this designer house offers.

pasha

Stunning but very weak sillage and longevity. Especially surprising since her older golden sister is a monster in both.

This one has one of those squirt/mist sort of 'delicate' sprayers. I find it annoying to be honest. You will have to spray the perfume about 100 times to get a respectable coat.

Why create such a lovely a-would-be-crowd-pleaser sweet potion that still smells deadly expensive and luxurious, but offer it such weak life on skin? And with this sprayer no less? GOLDEA does not have that idiocy. It is lackluster to the max, and actually infuriating when you think about it.

I do not care for a dewy morning mist on a petal. I am not a daisy and this is not some Neutrogena commercial. No need to be this gentle.

Undeniably beautiful sensual creation, one of the best recent releases on the sweet/musky side, yet... a little too intimate and personal. Too meek. One of the most gorgeous bottles to boot I must add; much better than GOLDEA herself.

KylieBooFace

Just tried this in 80-something summer heat. It immediately smells like a blast of intense, sweet honey but something in there is a bit heady and almost headache-inducing. It smells expensive and floral with a definite pronounced syrupy sweetness. Drydown is a bit too earthy for me; I'm not into vetiver. I love the bottle, ad, and the name, but I have a feeling I will like the Absolute better after trying. I rate this a like.

Bvlgari has accustomed me to refined, gentle, slightly almost ephemeral fragrances, although I do not really know all its perfumes or especially "Le Gemme" line in which perhaps a bold, strong fragrance is hidden.
The Roman Night.
It's name made me think of an important perfume, almost opulent, and for a long time I had a reverential fear in testing it.
Today I said to myself: why not?
I struggle to find something that gives me the idea of being nocturnal, in my mind. Yes, there is that hint of earthy note that was mentioned, I felt it thankfully after about 40 minutes from the spray. All the way back home I kept sniffing myself at the frantic search for it, and also for the tuberose.
Let's say that perhaps all the top notes have gone swallowed up by the scorching temperatures of my car, before the air conditioning made its effect, but in no way does it remind me of purely nightly bold scents. Obviously this was just my thought, based on the name, influenced by it.

I practically foresaw something different but it still remains a very good perfume, in perfect Bvlgari style.
Elegant, genteel, refined, not opulent as I expected and perhaps I'm a little bit blue for that!
But really, really worthy for me.
I'll buy it without having to retest it.

Sorry, I wrote too much..

What an intoxicating scent!!! A great concoction created in a magical lab... the juicy mulberry along with the night blooming jasmin. Too good to be true! The best part of it is that it remains light without any cloyiness.

gaz525

I adore the smell of this, juicy fresh oriental.I also detect a little menthol vibe. However, and some may think this strange but, the sprayer is one of those mist ones were there's a little resistance when pressing and so produces a most instead of a squirt. These seem to be more and more popular with new releases. So why is this a problem?Well every perfume with this sprayer just seems to disappear within half an hour even if I spray twice as much.As I had had a sample of this that had a regular squirter and found the longevity to be fine I decided to decant my bottle.Problem solved, I now get the moderate longevity that I found the sample to have....really strange though. Its almost as if the modern sprayer disperses the perfume so far and wide that it never collects in one place to give a good healthy hit of fragrance.Ive also found this with Montblanc Lady Emblem Elixir and Muglers Angel muse.I hope they stop using these misters as it's getting right on my proverbial!!

cherrygalore

After reading so many positive reviews about this perfume, I'm a little scared to share mine that's not so positive...

When I first sprayed it, the juicy berries really came through along with the black pepper. These were the only two main notes I could detect.
After a while, I could smell some soft and powdery notes like patchouli and jasmine. Then after a bit longer, the musk and rose make an appearance.

The perfume as a whole is kinda 'meh' to me. I feel like it's something you smell with a lot of perfumes, just that fruity clean-ish smell with some floral scents. Nothing amazing. It kinda reminded me of 'Fame' by Lady Gaga, but only a little bit.

This isn't a bad perfume, but it's just a little boring and lacks some 'va va voom'. I think sandalwood and maybe some incense would have helped.

I really wanted to love this, but was left disappointed.

Edit: So after about 2-3 hours after applying the perfume to my skin, I do like the way it smells. It's more sophisticated? The pepper is more defined and the florals and musk are more vibrant. I wish it was like this when first applied though.

aqua76239

this fragrance reminded me of Coco M. Its not the same, its has more oriental feel but this one is CocoM's more refined older cousin. It has some spice and some warmth and dry down is warm and buttery. However as with most Bvlgari scents, lasting power is really awful.

Rinio

This was a gift. I am not sure I even like it but I love the person who gave it to me and will now wear it until the bottle is finished. It is just so generic to my nose. I feel like I am wearing Coco Mademoiselle again after 15 years. Same direction, same old vibe that is not exciting anymore. Here and there I get a bit of Bvlgari Jasmin Noir which I loved 10 years ago but all in all, same stuff. I need untried new smells Monsieur Morillas, don´t reheat the same food over and over for decades.
Love,
X

Migalex

After several hours, the drydown reminds me of the original Nina. Excellent fragrance. Like Muahah, I find it has a buttery scent.

dglightblue

Summer test, a spray on inner arm, then went back couple hours later and sprayed again.

First time trying I got a warm, juicy fruit deep berry and other supporting notes.

This time I got s very non descriptive something, morphed into a berry or some kind, now it’s dusky warm.

Meh.

I will say that I had other test on I’m thinking that one particular overshadowed the rest, I should have been able to smell it though.

Might test on it’s own

Today it was soooo soft I could barely smell it, sillage soft, no whafts if gorgeousness

muahah

Feminine. Silky, buttery, earthly. At first dark berries mixed with jasmine, musk and soap. After 10 minutes I can feel some distant cigarette smell in this perfume. Perhaps that is musk combination what reminds me that. After about half hour it became somewhat white perfume, as silky white floral and soap with hint of alluring berries, and buttery vetiver and moss in background. Somewhat classic, but in a modern way. For someone who usually doesn't prefer patchouli, pepper, vetiver and moss notes they doesn't bother me in this perfume.

It's deep perfume, but not in a aggressive way. I actually expected it to be for more "serious lady", but actually it's quite accessible. It will fit special or even romantic occasion where woman might want to wear dress, perhaps in black, eggplant purple or white color. It's sensual in a lady like way when woman will rather get attention with her precise attitude and fascinating inner world, than too much talking and revealing clothing. Deep, fascinating and romantic. For woman 30+, or for woman who have correct attitude to use this perfume. Despite it's name I think it could be worn in day and night time.

In distant way this reminds me DG The One, but this is softer, more wearable and more modern. On my skin it also reminds me Juicy Couture berry perfumes, but this is a lot smoother and more grown up in a good way. If you liked JC in your teen years, then maybe you will like TRN as more adult.

FireFaerie

I used to say that I wish there was a candle that smells like when you first step into Ulta. That mix of all the different perfumes and hair products that somehow mix together harmoniously to create the smell of... I don't even know. It just smells so good in there. Anyway, that's exactly what this perfume smells like.

latafan

I actually find the name of Roman Night quite fitting.

It's a beautiful deep scent of Jasmin, soft musk and the slightest hint of rose and peppery notes. (I know there are more notes in this, but I'd be lying if I said I could identify them all).

This is a sensual summer night scent if there ever was one, but there is also a certain sophistication about it, you wouldn't wear it with jeans but actually rather with a nice dress and a fancy pair of heels. It's one of the few scents where I feel the marketing idea is really on point in regards to the scent itself.

Sadly in the climate region where I live (extremely humid and hot Mumbai) that wonderful scent goes to waste completely due to it's super low sillage and longevity.
It is ok if a scent is not too loud, but even after just one hour you'd almost have to touch the tip of your nose to my skin to still smell it on me. After 4 hours it is completely gone. It's just a crying shame.

I'd be very curious to know what the experience of people living in hot but dry climates is with this one. I'm holding on to my bottle in hopes to be able to try it out maybe if I happen to go to Delhi (which has a lot drier climate) or to Europe in summer.

So yeah, very very beautiful scent, but for Mumbai/tropical climates it's a clear pass.

Edit: I am wearing this now in 2020 during monsoon weather (very humid, but with slightly cooler weather than for the most part of the year) and its sillage and depth improved by leaps and bounds. So i guess what this scent needs is weather under 30 degrees celsius, regardless of humidity. Longevity is still meh, but still I'm so glad I held on to it!

Faaezaam

OMG....the dry down reminds me womanity by Thierry Mugler. I was surprised. I have to buy this one :) cause I love womanity. And I own it of course. But I think I heard that it s discontinued :(((

temo

This perfume reminds me of a strong, quiet, confident, lady. It doesn’t shout, it doesn’t need to. But it is there, close to the skin, quietly and confidently making its presence known. A truly beautiful combination of notes. Well done Bvlgari!

DarlingNikki

I have a review of this scent somewhere down below :) but wanted to say that this is a fragrance that needs skin and warmth to show its true beauty. I recently found the sample I ordered and sprayed it on a clean piece of tissue as I usually do before trying a fragrance on my skin and it smelled terrible--a blast of pepper (I'm hypersensitive to pepper for some reason) and something kind of sour (the mulberry I'm assuming). I was shocked because when I first tried it last year I was in love with it, but the sample made me think otherwise. I did cautiously dab the tissue on the top of my hand (just in case I needed to scrub it off) and oh my goodness, the beauty is still there, it just needs the warmth of skin to bloom. I sprayed the sample and that weirdly unpleasant pepper/sour blast is still there and lingers on me for a few seconds before disappearing into such a creamy, lovely, elegant fragrance. I'm going to need more testing of this, but I do think a full bottle is in my future...

Fernannda

It opens sharply with musk which then goes hand in hand with the soft blackberry, realizes if a floral touch as the perfume evolves, I do not notice the patchouli, unfortunately pepper is not noticed, but I feel something subtle that vaguely reminds the coconut... Very discreet and elegant perfume, it is not evasive, I believe it can be worn by day.

Cookietookie215

Smells and looks very similar to Lady gaga’s Fame. Dark, fruity, grapey

Mingailė

Lovely fragrance, easier to wear than Chanel Coco Noir. Romantic and sexy.

Gourmandlover

I have the same experience as IngaMM. Very lovely scent and longevity seems to be moderate, but the sillage is very weak. I will also try this again in summer.

Rinio

Jo Malone = Estee Lauder Corporation
Don't think they care either...

IngaMM

I wished I had tried this one more seriously before buying. Yes, it is a beautiful scent no doubt about it, but the sillage is just ridiculous. I use more pumps than normal, but still, if I don’t put my wrist right under my nose I can’t detect a thing. This is my experience in February / UK climate. I will review again in summer.

Update as promised:
I wore this on a short vacation at 24-28°C / 75-82°F. Unfortunately the temperature did not improve the sillage, the scent remained very close to the skin as before. On top of this the weather also seemed to negatively impact on the longevity. What a shame, I really liked this scent.

Julia-Gayle

Okay, this is for all those perfume houses that issue countless variations on the same perfume and think we don't know any difference.
Those of us who subscribe to this site are highly attuned to scent, we love perfume, our first memories are associated with scent. So let me be first to say, THIS SMELLS LIKE THE BATH CUBES YOU FIND ON THE BOTTOM SHELF AT RITE-AIDE!!!!!
We remember the smell of winter (pines and snow), fall (cider and burning leaves), spring (cut grass and lily of the valley), summer ( sun, sea salt and honeysuckle) even if it's the most trivial thing we still remember its scent-Hanukkah candles, school buses, the smell of rain, Grandma's preference for Elizabeth Arden's Blue Grass, etc. And we remember the gifts we gave her-bath cubes from Yardley.
There is a powdery rose scent after the first spritz, that is it. I spray and look around for the wrappers that those cubes came in. This is for what, $80.00, $90.00 for a bottle? Really?
I spent an hour roaming Macy's perfume counters and I couldn't find anything that stood out or appealed to me that I haven't encountered before. Old perfume in new bottles.
Same as it ever was.....This is why Jo Malone and Tokyo Milk are so amazing, they actually think and care about what they are creating.

marimachavariani

It's very pleasant perfume, with scent of peony and rose, I don't personally smell mulberry, also I adore this fruit.
This perfume is best for me for my night out, very lovely, gorgeous.
I thought it would be overwhelming, because the bottle is black, but no! It's very inoffensive <3 and the bottle is so beautiful.
overall:

Sillage: 7/10
Longevity: 8/10
Positive emotions: 9/10
Price: a little bit overpriced.

chlorodream

I could bathe in this stuff. No joke.

It starts out a little disappointing - the initial hit of mulberry smells a bit like other fruity frags on me, but I am so glad I kept sniffing!
Once those gorgeous florals come through (night blooming jasmine HELLO, it is wonderful to meet you!) they balance the mulberry out, at which point it becomes darker, more intriguing and more inviting alongside those lighter florals, offering little hints of bursting, naughty mulberry juice, like stolen jam. The rose is an understated friend, letting the jasmine really shine, the combination of which sets the tone for the base notes, which is when this frag really comes into its own.

The black musk and patchouli really turn this scent into a mysterious, gorgeous cloud. It's so Italian, it's so ageless, it's so sophisticated. I loved the advert with Bella Hadid too, the frag suits her gorgeous, unique face.

I bought this as a sample, but I will definitely be buying a bottle ASAP.

EDIT: Forgot to mention -- this perfume sits close to the skin, like a true mysterious goddess, but my oh my the longevity is marvellous. It only projects at all for about 4 hours max, but it sits on the skin for hours upon hours - you really get the most out of those base notes!

Fleur divina

The Roman Night is a lovely perfume with beautifully blended unusual combination of notes like that of mulberry, pepper and night blossoming jasmine where the end result is perfect. One of the best works from Bvlgari but it lets down in its sillage and lasting power which is not upto the mark.

NicelyContagious

I don't like sweet perfumes but this one is not too much for me. I kind of like it once it gets to the base notes. The problem is it lasts for a very short time. Two hours later, it's totally gone.

Decadence85

Not enough lasting power.

tommy_girl

I had the impression that this one has got lots of oud (maybe because of black bottle). I also have never been a fan of the other versions of goldea, yet I gave it a try and I'm glad I did so!
Goldea starts quite decent; neither dark, nor cheerful. also not fresh, nor warm spicy. It tries to keep the balance.
The notes which are listed here sound amazing. Mullberry gives it fruity hints and patchouli deepens its influence. Yet, to my nose the most dominant note is something salty and kinda aquatic. Can it be moss?vetiver? or night blooming jasmine? I'm not sure. Whatever it is, it's exactly what distinguishes this perfume from others.
Although I'm amnesic to musk, I can smell Roman night very clrealy. So I guess the project and long lasting power are ok. Also,it has got a meaningful name, even though I can't relate the perfume to the name much.

alabangcute

I just gave this to my mom today and when she tried it, she immediately loved it and said it smells similar to Omnia - LOL.

freddinos

Goldea Roman Night is a tweaked and improved -to me- version of the original Goldea. They share that unique patchouli/floral combo that is very characteristic to the line, and they smell as unmistakable relatives.
Roman Night is less sweet, the sweeter ylang is replaced here by white florals that smell a bit generic/non descript. A generous dose of clean, quite pleasant musk anchors the fragrance . On my carded sample it is described as black musk, I wonder what that may be, perhaps some specific musk aroma-chemical family.
Overall it smells good, not groundbreaking in any way. Would make a good gift, it’s likeable.

florencia-bianco

Wow, on my skin it smells very similar to Miss Dior 2012 version. Now I see they share some notes. I love it. Classy, sexy and soft. Subtle.

jerryle

I knew it by chance when walking around in the shopping mall in HCMC (maybe Takashimaya. It made me came back to identify what kind of smell in BVL store and then I decide to buy one for myself. I am impressed by musky (one of my favorite ingredient) and a little bit spicy - that makes me surprise but good. I use it all day and especially having a party at night because of its longevity. I love it much <3 <3 <3

Seducianne

Tried this one today and to me it's mainly mulberry and some flowers (rose?) This is, in my opinion, quite an uncomplicated scent, for me it's not a heavy perfume and it's also ABSOLUTELY not a fall/winter kind of fragrance. I could wear this on a summer evening/night and maybe the first days of autumn, still sunny and warm. Definitely office friendly, could be sexy in the right conditions. Smells very Italian, it's neither clean or vulgar. Just a little bit sticky-kinda-sweet and it possesses quite a ripe femininity. I can imagine a beautiful and fashion oriented Mediterranean woman in her 40s, aware of her sexuality, but also quite a conventionally attractive one, wearing this.

ScarlettX

I think it's quite modest and good. It isn't too much of a night time scent, despite the dark bottle, smells easy-going enough to wear it at daytime.
Spicy and floral mostly, smells interesting enough to me. Very good, the best from Goldea line so far.

angel.sinner

smells like Poison Dior at first sniff

polkadot27

Woody, musky and soft spicy. It is very nice and smells really well blended- I cannot detect any individual notes. There are no sharp dominant notes- This is when you know a fragrance is really done well. I would gladly add this to my collection. It is seductive in a sensual way, not a sexy way. It is a soft barely there skin type fragrance. Projection and longevity where terrible on both my skin and clothes- for this reason I don't think I would every buy this for myself. Nice scent- but projection and longevity seriously let it down. I am so sick of this happening with really nice new scents! It really does stop me from purchasing them. We want quality for our money Bvlgari!

paulasagcal

yes i already have it, my husband bought at dutch when he was on duty , i’m so happy because i am very love bulgari, this parfum is very sexy fragrance’s

Arlene-Beatrix

Pretty floral, soft spicy and woody scent, warm, cozy and elegant. I am not a fan of such notes, but I really like this one. It's well done.

Rosepowdery

The fragrance to remember

Goldea The Roman Night is modern sophisticated pleasant subtle stunnig fresh unique and unforgettable.

Goldea The Roman Night is one of the best new fragrances in my opinion which have been launched lately. Bergamot creates perfect citrusy opening. Jasmine and tuberose play simultaneously and patchouli supports all these perfect notes. Very well blended.

The bottle and the name make an impression that this was created as night or going out fragrance but to me Goldea The Roman Night is absolutely perfect for daytime wearing because it is both subtle and unique amongst typically considered daytime fragrances.

supergirl9412

I had a chance to test this out tonight, and I like it more now than I did initially.

At first it seemed faint, like the top notes came and went within an instant, and all I was left with was the smell of my skin. I think I caught a faint whiff of the acidic bergamot before I got a heavy dose what I'll guess was the mulberry, rose, and peony. This phase was not my favorite, but I'm generally not a fan of berries & roses together. Now, about an one hour later, I smell the jasmine and musk which I like, but I'm generally a fan of jasmine and musk together.

Average to below average sillage and longevity. It's faded quite a bit within an hour, and I have to get my nose right up on my arm to smell what's left of the fragrance.

I won't be buying this for the the dry-down phase as there are other fragrances that can give me jasmine & musk without the berry/floral middle phase. Not my favorite, but not a failure. Just an "ok" scent for me.

a.iioana

This is such a well balanced fragrance. Delicate, but sensual at the same time, it is truly elegant and the bottle is stunning!

AnitaHendricks

This perfume is beautiful. There's a strong mulberry opening combined with subtile pepper. Floral notes follow soon after. Those are very deep and sensual but still fresh enough. Moss, vetiver and patchouli create a herbal, earthy base while the bergamot tops it off with some unexpected fruityness. I personally don't like peony but even this note is well placed in this perfume.

DarlingNikki

I just happened to stumble across this while going on a scent sniffing expedition at Ulta and WOWZERS! This is the stuff right here! :) I am in no way, shape or form someone who can easily wear jasmine (it usually turns into an indolic catastrophe on me), but this night-blooming version is like heaven in a bottle! In fact, the bottle and the fragrance go beautifully together! This came across on me quite soft at first spray (unusually, as most modern fragrances come out the gate in a huge cacophony of notes colliding and screaming for attention), but as my skin warmed it up, I began to get wafts of one of the most elegant, sensual smells I've ever had the pleasure of smelling. This is gorgeous from top to bottom and don't let the softness fool you--these notes embrace one another like the most trusted lovers and leave a gorgeous scent trailing along with you as you move. Definitely number one on my wish list of all the new scents I smelled today!

perfumes_addict

Just lovely. A perfect combination between Chanel Chance and Bvlgari Goldea, meaning that it is a bolder and fresher version of Goldea. It is very intense, has a great silage and lasts forever on the skin. Definitely will add this gem to my collection.

genny17

I bought it here at sephora Paris, I was very surprised on how soft it actually smelled! It is like a soft warm floral oriental with a hint of a demure warm rose..., pretty, but looking at the notes I expected a powerhouse of a scent , and it isn't! But it is feminine, warm...
It stays close to the skin, and I thought I detected licorice in it...the night Blooming jasmine dominates the scent ..in my opinion....I expected stronger, it is a nce scent, and it has that typical Morillas signature, kind of safe, kind of pretty of course..
Goldea Roman Night is far from being trashy, it has an easygoing elegance , still modern enough to be worn daily, on a cool fall day.

OlfactoryLover

OH MY GOD, THIS IS SOME SEXY STUFF!

The night blooming jasmine is most prominent with a bitter/earthy mulberry note in the background. Very long lasting and sits so lovely on the skin. I have edited this review as my first one was rather crude. I shouldn't have wrote a review after smelling this fragrance! It is just gorgeous.

This is how I imagine Nicole Kidman would smell in Moulin Rouge if Ewan had chosen the "smouldering temptress" option.

Enough said. Just try it!

almondbreakfast

Goldea The Roman Night has the vibe of Jasmin Noir with deep, dense, dark rose, jasmine, tuberose, patchouli. Great projection and longevity.

I was surprised to find it in Changi Airport 2 days ago as the official release date is actually September 2017. The ad is not even up yet, which I can't wait to see.
