A boozy green candy apple as if the hard candy coating was a brandy instead!

MrMrBrian

I’m really in awe of this particular line of Kilan’s with the L’heure Verte being my favorite & maybe this one just a bit over Angels Share..Even Roses On Ice is nice!! This However gets to be the scent of the day I have on. & The initial spray is may absolute favorite part & that phase last a good bit of time! The photorealistic green apple which shows listed although it’s sweet & kind of wondering if it could actually be a red apple?? Paired together with the booziness this yet is another one in this line that just completely nails that aspect!! Even though I don’t drink rums or whiskeys etc I tend to gravitate big time towards boozy scents for the most part. I’m leaving a review perhaps too soon only having it on about three hours remembering reading in the past this having longevity issues..So won’t help much there, But the opening personally is nothing short of addictive..& I’d say you’d have to have a love for sweet boozy type scents to agree with the synopsis I’m giving. Even though I really like this one I’m trying at this stage to watch my redundancy as far as purchases go & The By Kilian Smoking hot I’m almost positive will get purchased over this one!! Nothing taken away from this I really love it!!

sezbez124

This has everything that I personally want in a more winter scent. It's a little lighter than say Angels Share, or Jazz Club (one of my fave night scents), but is still complex and unique in its profile. Honestly, the touch of fruity sweetness means that you probably could even wear this during the day, or even in spring. The cedar, rum and apple are most prominent on my skin on the dry down, and this baby lastssss for me. Worth the $$$ to me...

Zpmghal

amgels share on steroids, masterpiece

dandelionsandfire

I liked this because it’s a lighter version of angels share, but didn’t like the dry down. The dry down smells like someone sneezed on your arm and you smell their saliva

JaySentz

Smells less like apple pie than Angel’s Share despite it being in the name oddly. Sweet and boozy with an interesting greeness and spice. The spice comes across a bit cumin and fenugreek to my nose, could be the moss and cardamom combination - in any case that makes is reminiscent of Spice Bomb Extreme which I don’t like for the same reason (cumin).

If you’re expecting something like Angle’s share this isn’t the same at all.

temporalgrace

This is so good?? It's a pretty good facsimile of apple brandy. There's no apple pie here, just sweet, crisp, boozy apple with a hint of something smoky underneath. I'm not a fan of overly sweet scents--Angel's Share toes that line for me--but this one is very wearable, even in spring. Unisex, unique, and fun! I also can't get over how gorgeous the bottle design is for this line. I never looked at By Kilian twice before, but they really popped off with this one. 10/10 no notes

Snicole82

This smells like a potpourri. It is super hyped up. I think most Kilians are hyped up. But this one is definitely hyped. I don’t smell apple. Just liquor. Yeah, that’s gonna be a no for me. The sillage and longevity are weak as well.

Ambré by Baldessarini,

Angelus Libri

Beautiful and intoxicating. A glass of brandy covered in condensation. Slivers of what were once icy peaks of cubes floating on top an apple core sunk at the bottom. The apple in this is subdued. Not a big juicy prominent apple akin to Malle's 'Promise'. This is a gourmand that isn't a gourmand. The boozy and woody aspects keep it from venturing into full gourmand territory. Ambroxan is used well in this, gives the subtle sweets of shoulder ride. Wouldn't pay full retail. Would go back to Sephora and decant myself some more.

Eldorine

Thank god after so many orange blossom perfumes out there I found this fresh unique fragrance with addictive scent. I really enjoy it and like it a lot more than Angel's Share.

violinwood

Wow this is a unique scent, it literally smells cold. Like a glass of apple juice and liquor with ice cubes in it.

msajoy

has simialrity to kutay :)

Shaggy123

I can't put my finger on it. In the opening, there's a woodiness that smells like you're smelling the oak barrel the rum was aged in.

The fragrance is excellent. I can't say much beyond that, as I'm having difficulty describing the scent profile. Sweet. Fresh. Somewhere in that realm.

G0rebloom

Huge fan of adding the ambroxan with the apple! It isn't warm at all, it genuinely smells like there are ice cubes in this. Ice cubes in apple juice, with a whole pineapple sitting beside it on the same table. I don't know if I want to wear it but it genuinely is a genius combination.

aliyuh0604

this may be controversial but I think apple brandy is better than angels share

Loose Goose

Well blended mix of apple, cedar, and boozy notes.
Good performance

filleisnothere

The best boozy fragrance money can buy

Vandz88

Hi i just got this one but instead of apple brandy on the rock, mine said apple blend on the rock is it the same ? Thanks

Endlessfumes

Boozy gourmand fragrance with a fresh edge, this is in the same realm with Ferragamo uomo

Mattynice74

Not my favorite, but a nice scent. I am actually wearing this today.

It seems like everyone has a completely different experience with this one. When I first spray it on, I get the apple and boozy right off the top, and it smells amazing.... for about 20-30 minutes

For me it becomes a vanilla/ amber scent very fast. It's nice, but I have things like Blonde Amber, and Tobacco Vanille, etc, this doesn't have much space for my rotation.

I am going to try it out in key west in about a week and a half to see how it plays in the heat. I've only worn it about 3 times now, and it's always been 40's-50's. Maybe some warmth will bring out the apple and brandy for me.

We shall see. For now its a 5.5/10 for me. Decent, but nothing special. Sillage / projection also isn't the best for me. Longevity is a solid 8 hours on skin.

hannahbananana

for some reason i get a lot of moss and not much apple or brandy. herbal smell?

sevenlinas

boozy apple pie, but it's also way more nuanced than that. very strong, creamy rum note. it's giving wolfing down a slice of apple pie a la mode drunk & alone on a thanksgiving night. not for me personally but I love the layers to this scent...!

tukangciumparfum

Its an airy most sophisticated apple cocktail drink. You feel like you are drinking cocktail on the most premium bar on the 100th floor.

Parks

The perfume itself smells like an obvious boozy cocktail. On my skin, however, it's kind of confusing, and I could say the same for clothes. It's mostly a bomb of cardamom on my spice loving skin. It leans sweet, but not so sickly sweet. Smack dab unisex and not quite playful, but not so authoritarian either. Could be worn with a playful outfit.
On skin and clothes, my nose just picks up woody notes mixed the little tartness and sweetness that could only come from the citrus fruits (you truly cannot pinpoint anything in particular in this entire concoction.
Surprisingly, just not that much apple in this, no one ever tells me it smells like apple. The booze itself with the woodiness and warm spice is what makes this perfume. Very strange, but it fits me anyways, and those who come close enough to smell it (piss poor sillage) do say it smells wonderful.

Doda2010

forget all the reviews u watched this is pure apple juice

nvperfume

This smells exactly like a Glade’s Apple Cinnamon plug in air freshener.

GrenadeGirl

When I first tried this one I thought it might be a little male leaning, but I've worn it all day and actually, as it dries down, it is absolutely unisex and absolutely stunning! It leaves the most incredible light and airy scent trail.

This is a true love, and it is in my top 3 from the Kilian house (the actual order of which changes with the season). The opening fresh blast is a genuine 'Oh my, this is gorgeous!' every single time - it is a crazy realistic scent, and the apple stays all day!

Definitely worth a try, with no 'but' whatsoever. It is just amazing!

Irinka. K

Just bought a refill for this one. I love it so much. If you think it doesn't last long, it's the ambroxan. You get nose-blind but other can still smell it.

anamawsity

Not a bad scent at all but I just wish it was a bit sweeter. I was worried the alcohol smell would be too strong but it’s totally fine for me! I do prefer Angel’s Share because on me, it’s a sweeter version of Apple Brandy.

baris.oto

Boozy and sweet version of Creed Aventus.

deathanxiety

found a sample of this in my desk like a lil treat from the heavens. on paper: fresh, sharp, clean apple, a little boozy, but more crisp slices than syrupy baked down in a pie scent. but on my skin the cedar comes screaming to the front immediately and I get none of that nice apple until a real faint whiff of it on the dry down. I'm pretty new to fragrances but that difference is so wild to me!! i'm wearing a blazer and a lot of gold jewelry for a Business Meeting today so even though it's not really Me the strong unisex cedar thing is kind of a mood?? like ok sure go off

I love this fragrance, i really cant say much, since my nose isnt too experienced, but its really nice scent

SOTD Apple Brandy on the Rocks By Kilian Paris 2/5

First spray is an apple spice dream. Almost like an apple spiced chai to my nose. Fades fast and is a skin scent within an hour. Unique scent though not a purchase for me though based on lasting power.

Reviewed is based on a 1.5mL purchased in a sample lot. Wore at home.

Cr0wn

Probably my favorite fragrance of the house.

LOVE the scent. Only negative I would say is the projection for me. Starts as moderate but becomes more of a skin scent. Decent longevity on skin; you smell it until... you don't (noseblindness?). Lasts a lot longer on clothing though. Would honestly wear it all year round, day and night.

ilonkailonka

Definitely a unisex scent, maybe even leaning masculine. I find this very relaxing; it reminds me of a Scandinavian spa in the mountains, probably because the cedar note is very prominent to my nose. The apple is very nice here, too, without the heavy cinnamon that overpowers Angel's Share. Wouldn't wear it on a date night, but might enjoy it as a just-for-me scent when I'm relaxing at home after a long day.

Marie20707

I enjoy this more than Angels Share, which is heavy on the cinnamon. This is fresh, sweet, aromatic and this will shine in the warmer weather. It’s unisex and it can be worn on it’s own or layered.

aspirina

Fresh sweet apple, woody notes, brandy, some musk. I love this to be honest, but I think it fits men better. Maybe I can layer it with vanilla or rose scented lotion? mmm oh well. I like this a lot. But will layer it with something a bit sweeter and more feminine.

Cowboy87

I love this fragrance..a boozy woody slightly fresh scent with a little fruit in opening. Moderate longevity and projection. This reminds me a lot of discontinued ed hardy villain. Obviously this is better quality and a little bit more boozy but very similar to villain. I always thought villain was underrated prob due to being made by Ed hardy. I will wear this a lot and I believe it's pretty versatile. 9 out of 10 for me.

SCBohemian

Apple Brandy on the Rocks is dominantly cardamom and cedar on my skin. The fresh apple accord is nonexistent. Very disappointed as it lasted less than 2 hours after several sprays. Will be returning this one.

Seaknees

This is my fall/winter scent. It's pretty light compared to other Kilian fragrances and I feel comfortable wearing this to work. This smells like apple cider, fresh apple with a bit of spice. It doesn't really come off as boozy or pie-like on me. I don't really have an issue with longevity for this one, but I definitely overspray because I really enjoy the scent a lot so that may help. It's fairly unisex, leaning slightly feminine.

Unmodernize

Original, cool concept. Like it

Polokojoe

It’s AMAZING smells like apple pie

Bilal W

this fragrance is similar to angel shares yet so different it uses the same base stuff like vanilla but instead of smelling bourbon like how u usually would in angel shares u smell apple’s making it fresh meaning u can use it during the day not only the night this is one of my favorite fragrances and not lots of people know about it which is good for me since it makes me stand out and smell unique it is truly an amazing fragrance and i was a little hesitant at first when buying it but i can tell u it doesn’t disappoint

The fruity and alcohol based aroma of this brand positively stimulates not just my olfactory but also culinary senses, evoking an apple flambé pie. The scent is definitely unisex, well defined and distinctive.

JoyousOne

I went to a Christmas party last night. One person sd to me, "Please dont tell social media that I walked up to you telling you that you smell good, but 𝗗𝗔𝗠𝗡 you smell good!" What was I wearing? Ambrosia Impérial and Apple Brandy on the Rocks! Another person walked up to me sd, "What exactly am I smelling? What 𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗦𝗦 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦????" There was a bar and his 🍸 drink made him comfortable to share the truth without inhibitions. He continued, "How in the world do you smell this good and 𝗡𝗢𝗧 expect men to approach you? You know 𝗘𝗫𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗟𝗬 what you're doing!" Winning combination paired or solo!

alexyr

Personally for me I can sense the alcoholic beverages a lot. Definitely not for those who don't enjoy alcoholic beverages, I can't drink and makes me a little bit nauseous. Not as gourmand or sweet as I expected it to be. It has a nice fresh touch to it and is aromatic, I think it can be good for the early spring days and can go well as a day perfume.

fwanak

Personally, I think this is better than Angels Share.
It's a perfume where you can feel the freshness of an apple, and I think it'll be very good to spray anytime.

(People around me say it's suitable for special moments because of the scent of alcohol, but I don't really care about that and I tend to spray it according to my mood.)

Angel's Share had an artificial scent, but I think it's good because there's no such scent.

Raul Claudiu

Kinda smells like apple cider mixed with vanilla ..

LLdeduction

Rummy apple and fruitiness on top of woods with a bit of a greeness in the background. As it dries, it does become more typical masculine designer-esque.

I love the scent profile, but do wish it was a bit more radiant for it's price point. Sits closer to my skin than most fragrances. Could be noseblindness, so I'll retest it sometime in the future.

Hannehoney

My new favorite. This is so perfectly blended, I can smell the apple, pineapple, brandy, vanilla and cedar. Its fresh, but not sharp, sweet, but without being cloying. This is perfect for all year and any occasion, in my opinion. I absolutely love it. Stays on my skin for about 7-8 hours and with moderate projection.

Norathar

I want to like this, but there's too much of a potpourri note. I think I'd love it as a scented candle, but on my skin, I go back and forth between liking it and feeling like I'm wearing a Glade wall plug-in.

magred

probably one of the most beautiful scents i've ever smelled in my life. that bright, fall apple crumble on the initial spray, that warms into the most intoxicating fireplace brandy spicy delight. i can never say a price tag like this is justified but this really does smell more expensive or luxurious than a lot of things a similar level. i actually might get me a decant of this. this gets compared to angel's share a lot but while they are both gorgeous, they are nothing alike.

Myrtillajus

Apple Brandy is one of those fragrances that I would define as extremely glamorous.
A night in an exclusive club drinking apple brandy, with its smell so good and refreshing, perfectly reproduced in this fragrance.
The note of green apple, sweet but not too much, crunchy, marries perfectly with the alcoholic notes, creating an explosive mix, very pleasant and suitable for any season.
Wonderful.
“Nightwalks” painted by Hopper.

Charades

I like this fragrance, but I would love it if it were a bit stronger. It smells like rum and whiskey and a juicy apple, and definitely can be used in a multitude of events. I have yet to enlighten myself on the smell of angels share, but I already feel like this one smells better than its popular counterpart.

DianaCiobo

Smells like green apple juice, it's ok but i won't buy it again. Nothing special about it, wish it was more spicy.

okaythursday

love, love, love apple brandy on the rocks!

best way I can describe it is a warm apple pie fresh from the oven! it has a more "fall" scent to it than you would imagine, and there is not a huge brandy note to it which might scare people off.

I also have angel's share, which this gets compared to a lot, and this one holds up to it! they have similar vibes but this one is a much for daytime or everyday fragrance that will not overpower a lot, while angel's share has a heavier more fancy aspect to it.

I typically wear this one for everyday purposes and angel's share for special dinners or date night! which is kind of hilarious because they are the same outrageous price! I have travel size's for both because I'm not built like that LMAO

final verdict: if you are an apple-y autumn loving person like me go get a sample of this apple pie marvel

AlliCat1215

Delicious boozy woody apple. I think it’s in the same family as angels share but I prefer angels share. I think this one is a bit more unisex. Lasts a long time too.

JangJun

I only smell a wine scent through a time. It’s fading from start to end.
Collector buy it is okay but can’t compare with Angels share.
Not recommend.
Update:
Revisit make me start loving this scent.
- Smell of wine at first, not so strong. Good and smooth change to next note
- Apple vanilla coming as good as Layton, plus base note
It should have in your collection and can be your signature scent for 4 seasons.

GG_scent

I go to the shop hope to get Angel's share back home but after sales person suggest apple brandy for me. I fall in love with it and completely forgot why i've been there at first.

Apple brandy is the true hidden gems for on the rocks collection. It smell so damn good sexy boozy and my wife fall in love with it at first time too.
Longevity on me is really great 8hours+

EauDeBaldy

This thing is damn gorgeous and something you will want to smell over and over.

I don't see it written by anyone else but to me, I get a honey, green apple vibe with this.

There is nothing boozy about this, no rum, nothing that you'd think with a Killian Fragrance. It's heavy with what it presents but nothing overbearing.

The negatives are, this thing only lasts a few hours for me. Having experience with previous Killians where those were beasts, this one is not.

Not all is bad because of that, I think this would be great to have for a night out or a special event where you will attend for a few hours. It will do it's magic there. Otherwise, for the price and how long it lasts overall, it's a nice try but a pass for me.

Good wear for the cooler times like fall/winter.

leaves.n.rain

I was looking for an apple pie fragrance for fall, but not something super sugary or synthetic smelling (I don't want to smell like a candle). While this doesn't have the apple pie spices I want (cinnamon), I love how noticeable & realistic the apple is. One of the most unique fragrances I've smelled with an apple note - all the others smell fake. The rum & brandy notes give this a cool, adult profile (similar to Jazz Club in that regard). This projects more than most of my fragrances, and I feel like it lasts a really long time on my skin. I don't get the cardamom or vanilla at all, but I do get the fruits, woods, and alcohol. It's a great fragrance for those who aren't looking for a gourmand, but still want to smell like apples in the fall without smelling cheap/juvenile.

justcheckinout

The opening is a bergamot-cedar combo that's very common in men's designer fragrances, which puzzled me because what does it have to do with apples or brandy? After the bergamot goes away in 5 minutes, there comes the apple note, which resembles the cooked apples from apple pies more than fresh apples. The drydown is cedar with a fruity touch. I didn't get any of the rum or brandy notes throughout the run.

springsfloralair

This is going to sound insane but I've been smelling this all day and I would say anyone that disagrees needs to at least try this comparison before shooting it down; you might be surprised. I first smelled this in Budapest and couldn't really put my finger on what I was smelling. It was nice, and unique, but it clearly wasn't brandy and it wasn't apples. Later in Prague I wrote a few sprays of this on my arm, to try to evaluate it more as I walked about. I realized the smell was incredibly familiar, and once I put my finger on it, I challenge anyone to make the comparison for yourself. It smells almost exactly like Black sugar Milk Tea with (I think mainly the) black Tapioca pearls. I have absolutely zero clue why a high end fragrance called Apple Brandy would smell like that, but it has that smell with absolute certainty, and very clearly and distinctly. It isn't a common smell to know, so I think few can even make the comparison, but it is that smell without question.

rmnnnnn

Sweet and fresh apples with rum and a smoky touch in the opening. It's a very versatile thing, I'd wear it pretty much any time except the coldest winter days and hottest summer days. The projection is very moderate, maybe even more on the light side – you need to really sniff your hand to smell this after a couple of minutes. Longevity for me is around 3-4 hours. I like the scent profile very much but at this price point, I want the performance as well to buy it.

tally2ball

THIS is the adult-apple scent I have been looking for. After trying many apple-forward scents from Sephora, and finding them all to be too young or reminiscent of my teenage Bath and Body works days, I came across this one. I got a sample and first time I sampled it, I wasn't sure what to think b/c it was so different than the apple scents I had been trying before it, it's not as sickly sweet, but the apple is definitely in the forefront. The second time I sampled, I fell in love. On my skin, I get more of an apple/woody/fresh scent, and less booze which I prefer [less to no booze] in my perfumes. Like other reviews have said, I don't want to smell like an alcoholic drink. Luckily I don't get much booze with my skin chemistry, or if I do, its blended in a way that it cuts the sweetness of the Apple accord down. This is definitely not a sweet body splash apple scent, but an apple scent none the less! It's hard to describe. I cant stop smelling my arm. I just love it. Especially now that it's September and apple season, I get so excited to wear it! Bring on the apples!

mckfly24

I got the dupe from julianas. Too masculine for me but if you are a guy, get this now and douse yourself in it it's delicious and sexy!!

Chatulie

I really wanted to like this perfume because Angels’ Share is my favorite Christmas scent, I only like it in December. I thought it would be similar, but it's very different. I can't detect its ingredients separately, because from the first few minutes I smell a hot SAUNA. For me, rock is not icy, but hot. I've never smelled such a dry scent before. I can't wear this fragrance, it's not unisex, it's only for men. Sexy on men, bizarre on women.

Littlebeans3

As a female who loves unisex fragrances this leaned a little too masculine for me. Smelt very cologne ish to me. I got no apple pie smell or apple smell at all. I did get something green that I wasn’t a fan of. Not a fan

T Ranks

My buddy said it smells like blueberry egos in a good way. I dont see it but I really love it

Mshapiro2115

Absolutely intoxicating. I blind purchased Alien Goddess 90 ml from Sephora and was so dissatisfied that it lasted only 3 hours on my skin. For a $180 bottle of perfume to last that long is ridiculous. I took it back and ended up getting the Apple Brandy and it wears so beautifully on my skin. A boozy vanilla apple. If Tom Ford made a Lost Apple I think it would smell like this. At $245 for a 50 oz it performs wonderfully so I am very satisfied. 100% autumn, winter perfume. I layer it with a vanilla tuberose body butter and a touch of Nest Madagascar Vanilla perfume oil, but only a tad so as not to change the distinct scent of the perfume. If you want to smell mature, decadent and different from everyone else in the room this is what you want.

amgenus2015

I would not wear this, but I’m surprisingly into it. It’s very warm. You can smell the alcohol it’s darker maybe for night it feels like a very comforting like sexy woman.

fragrancegorlie

Such a dreamy well-blended boozy apple! It’s not too sweet and I don’t find the alcohol to be too sharp or jarring, (which is my experience with Angels Share) most likely with the wood and vanilla here to smooth it out. It’s cozy yet refreshing at the same time, probably thanks to the opening notes, and unlike anything else I’ve ever tried. I don’t get any pineapple, and I’m surprised to see it listed here. The moss gives a slightly earthy feel that thankfully isn’t overpowering. Compliments to the chef, this is a superstar for sure.

KerriZ

While I appreciate the careful crafting and gorgeous elements, I don't want to smell like an alcoholic beverage. I also got no apple (could have been the 100 degree weather) only brandy which eventually dried down to a long lasting ambroxan, wood and vanilla.

goosemusk

Like a sharp, juicy green apple slice after being soaked in an alcoholic drink. More masculine compared to Angels' Share. Within the first couple hours, I could smell a pleasant green apple note whenever the wind came by. Over time, the apple note dies down and begins to smell a little boozy, unlike Angels' Share.

Galy

This one opens very interesting with freshy and spicy sharp green apple scent that stands for a short time before it gets smoothed and sweetened by the entrance of fruity vanilla , however I feel that this sharp freshy scent of apple doesn’t fades away completely but still there and I can pick up through the dominant vanilla and it seams to be enhanced with the entry of the booze accord from rum and brandy to add more sharpness and fruity freshness
This pleasant fruity sweet booze accord mixed with a nice natural slightly earthy green cedar wood which gives the fragrance a very elegant and attractive smells in the dry down
Score 6 out of 10

LordByronn

I’ve been going into Sephora to smell this on myself for the last couple of weeks and finally pulled the trigger on a full bottle.

I do really enjoy the crisp apple accord here. To my nose, the pineapple is not at the forefront of the fruitiness - but adds to the apple from the background and rounds it out beautifully. The booze in this scent adds a heaviness I have not commonly encountered in fragrances with a bright, fresh, fruity vibe. It‘a quite an intriguing mix - it’s playful and bright and yet also deep and sensual.

I don’t get “Yankee Candle Store” at all with this. While it decidedly smells very much like a Fall-type of fragrance (apple + cinnamon just have that effect, I guess), it isn’t overtly so and the scent wouldn’t be out of place in the Winter and Spring.

Side-by-side with Angels’ Share, Apple Brand On The Rocks smells quite similar, just with the apple being put at the very forefront and the powdery sweetness dialed down in favor of a deeper booziness. I chose this over AS. Overall a very beautiful fragrance.

Afterdark

High quality perfume, nice longevity, deep interesting scent with a well balanced kaleidoscope of notes. However, I unfortunately did not like it as for me the boozy brandy note was just too much, when I wear it it's all I can smell. High quality and well made product, but not for everyone, a try before you buy kinda thing. (Thank god for testers!)

MollyB235

This was an incredibly appealing scent that was simply too powerful for me to wear. They nail the scent on the head- a sexy wood cabin with a charred apple slice in a neat glass of liquor. Wow. A super unique and powerful fragrance- just not the scent for me to wear daily. But it literally puts you in a bar. This is definitely a masculine leaning but unisex scent. I would picture this scent on a super confident woman in a leather jacket at a bar- you’d stop and whip your head around like DANG she smells good!

If this is you- buy this scent! I’d definitely recommend giving it a try- and I’m tempted to try it again. This is someone’s Cinderella slipper signature smell- I just don’t think it was mine.

Enrium

Apple Brandy on the Rocks is a boozy woody-amber scent with spiced apple as a focal point. I was surprised by the apple component in Angels' Share, and find that they are quite similar as a result - boozy and woody with a side of apple. This is less sweet and more masculine.

AB is boozy from initial spray, permeated with high-quality cognac throughout. There is a nice hint of peppery spice, complementing the booziness nicely. The fruity notes follow, ripe and fleshy, balsamic on my skin. Apple is notable, cider-like rather than fresh or baked goods-like as in Angels' Share.

It becomes very dry as it develops. Woody notes creep in alongside a mossiness, but it remains primarily boozy and balsamic with that ripe fruitiness remaining until it fades to a musky skin scent. Sillage and longevity are moderate.

Unisex, even potentially masculine-leaning, AB is a pleasant boozy amber scent, laced with fruit and spices. The apple only plays a small role. Nothing groundbreaking and quite expensive for what it is, but decent and wearable overall. I prefer Angels' Share, but this is an appealing cold weather scent. 3/5.

JoyousOne

Apple Brandy on the Rocks is soooooo good. Although its unisex it a tad bit masculine leaning. I sent a message to the guys I know and told them to order samples of it ASAP. This is a true flanker to Angel's Share. When I was given the task of describing what does it smell like, I told them its like having apple flavored brandy liquor melt into your skin but in the smoothest velvet type of way. This is deep dish hot apple pie saturated in the highest quality of brandy in prestine vats and then drizzled in crystallized caramel rum and vanilla. Im blown away by the creativity of human beings. The alchemy of these perfumers is award worthy.

This delicious slightly boozy perfume was the one which I was testing a long time ago and I didn’t like it at all. It was offensive yet interesting but I didn’t know that some day I would love it a lot and own the bottle. So if you didn’t like it back in the days maybe you should test it again! 💯

Anyway, here I am with my crispy, juicy delicious Apple Brandy and here in beautiful Rome the winter has already turned into the spring time and the weather is perfect for this scent. 💯

Very realistic apple with woody, boozy accord are the biggest reasons why I like this, otherwise this would be just an ordinary fruity perfume. Cardamom in the opening and mossy, woody notes tones the sweetness down and brightens up the fresh vibe but in the end of the journey sweetness tones up again because of Pineapple and Vanilla and I can smell really sweet even jammy apple in my wrist. I find this really fresh anyway and if I want that fresh feeling to last all the day I just re spray it. Lasting power is not so long though but for me it’s fine since I change the perfume during the same day. What comes to the boozy note it’s really hard to describe but it’s something like sparkling wine style rather than deep, dark Brandy.

This is not totally my style but I couldn’t resist to have a full bottle. This is great perfume anyway and very wearable during the spring time - I think I will enjoy this during the summer as well! 🍏

FragStar

Opens with a gentle blast of sour green apple and vanilla, with a background spice of cardamon. The fragrance is only slightly boozy, definitely designer level, and underwhelming at this stage. In the dry down an earthy accord grows and the sour apple mellows into the vanilla. A feeling of old designer colognes, such as boss bottled is certainly there, and Apple Brandy is no where near the league of Angels Share. A real shame and not worth the expensive price point.

Ghadah02

It smells like a vintage woody slightly apple scent.

I have never smelled rum or brandy so these might be the reason I dislike this.

Not worth it if you dislike vintage fragrances.

HYLAS

Having fallen head over heels for Angels' Share, I was determined to sample at least a couple more fragrances by Kilian, purported master of the liquors.

Apple Brandy on the Rocks opens boozy and balsamic, with plenty of spice, wood and tangy cedar. The spice lingers as the fragrance dries, as does the alcohol, leaving you with a scent that is more bitter and aromatic than fruity. I don't get much apple from it at all. Perhaps a sour old husk, last remnant of the autumn harvest.

After checking the listed notes, I can agree there is a distinctively mossy touch that turns the perfume earthy and green with the dry down. I couldn't detect any of the pineapple or vanilla, however. Once fully dry, the composition turns from green to brown, that touch of old apple growing gradually warmer until you are left with a boozy pudding slightly past its expiration date.

All in all, do I like it? Well, it isn't the worst . . . but it doesn't exactly jump out at me either.

umayy

juicy apple with bergamot. I WANT TO EAT MYSELF IT SMELLS SO FRESH AND GOURMAND AT THE SAME TIME

millerje86

I understand the comparison to Boss Bottled, as everything and anything with apples and spices seems to get that treatment, but that’s a major over-simplification of this scent!

This does the same things yes, but better. Right off the top I get the spiced apple, with maybe a hint of fleeting citrus around the edge. It starts getting more boozy and the vanilla sneaks in to soften everything a bit. After that the woods start to come in, with maybe a little touch of ambroxan but nothing obnoxious- tbh with the blend its hard for me to distinguish much on the way into the dry down, everything works together well and forms an intoxicating and addictive scent.

Performance isn’t awful, although after hour two it settles pretty close to the skin and stays there for the life of the fragrance, although it is possible to catch sown wafts throughout the life of the fragrance. To me, this scent is decidedly masculine, especially in the dry down, but could still be easily worn by a woman with confidence.

takema

I really enjoy this for the first few hours. The apple is boozey, slightly sweet with warm spices. It smells like an apple lightly poached in spiced rum. The apple is still firm, fresh and a little tart, but just cooked enough to take on the spices and slightly deepen the sweetness. As it settle on the skin the spices and vanilla soften the tartness. Unfortunately, in the deep drydown it all falls apart. The apple becomes sharp, bitter and unpleasant. All of the warm spiciness and sweetness has disappeared and I am left with bitter apple peels and ambroxan. It's too bad because it was quite enjoyable until then. I do have a lot of difficulty with an apple note, so this could just be a me problem.

I am surprised so many people rate this unisex. I find it quite masculine, from the opening to the drydown. It is the type of masculine scent that I think a lot of women would enjoy wearing though. There is just enough sweetness and brightness to balance the masculine edge for a woman. That also helps it work in warmer weather. The notes bring to mind a cozy fall/winter fragrance, but the apple retains enough freshness (along with the pineapple and bergamot) to avoid becoming to heavy and cloying in warm weather. I would start with a light hand for really hot weather though. I imagine this working especially well in the early fall when it's still warm and sunny, but we have apple picking in mind.

I have tried this a few times and the performance has been solid each time I wore it. I could still smell it on my skin for at least 10 hours, but after 6 hours it stopped being pleasant. The projection is pretty moderate, reaching a little beyond arms reach.

I only had a sample of this and won't be purchasing a full bottle. It's just too expensive for a fragrance that doesn't work on my skin all the way into the drydown. It's also a little more masculine than I prefer to wear most of the time.

HannahRosesAreRed

Angel's Share may get the all the praise, but it's Apple Brandy that has captured my heart. This could be considered the fresher, fruitier counterpart to Angel Share's spiced, warm, gooey and boozy apple pie filling scent. Apple Brandy has that same apple and boozy scent profile, but with a cooler and crisper edge. The combo of brandy, pineapple and vanilla gives it a slightly maple syrup sweetness to the crispy, sharp alcoholic heart.

Despite bordering on being a fruit freshie, I think this perfume would be great for the cooler seasons. It reminds me of the apple barns I used to visit while living in Vermont. It's just grounded, green and earthy enough to keep it from being too sweet, but not so much that it reads as too heavy, dirty or dark. Apple Brandy is a fantastically fresh, invigorating and uplifting fragrance–a mature and rounded new take on a classic fruity perfume. It just borders on being a gourmand, but isn't cloying or too edible.

This has turned me on to the Kilian brand. Although Angel's Share was nice, it was too dark, spicy and alcoholic on my skin–but Apple Brandy was magical. I might consider adding this to my collection as an evening fragrance.

NDStars

First blast of sharp cardamom booze, an apple pie flambe. Spicy sweet, like a baking grandma out for a night on the town with heavy drinkers. After a minute, it's apple and clove that really dominate and it's rather photorealstic. The cardamom lingers through the drydown, always keeping the scent sharp and not letting everything mire down in sticky sweetness. I like it but I don't want to walk around smelling like I smeared apple pie on myself. Feminine and best for cold weather.

Xisco

Great scent but performance issues on my skin, doesn`t last more than 4-5 hours

battersbyfiona

A very fresh, crisp, tart apple smell. I used to go to an apple barn in the autumn when I was a kid, and this smells the way that did - just overwhelming but lovely fresh apples. I prefer Angel's Share, which to me is a warm, spicy, baked apple as opposed to a fresh apple. But you could easily do Apple Brandy on the Rocks for spring/summer (or day) and Angel's Share for fall/winter (or night).

lmnsvgz

Such a pretty spicy apple scent <3

CathSvila

To me, this frag is thin. It’s as though, while gorgeous, it’s missing one or two notes that would give it depth. It’s lacking that gorgeous unctuous quality of other niche scents. My skin chews through this one, it’s gone so quickly. It’s a shame - it’s got all the right notes, but on my skin, it just falls short,

sgd11

Super awesome juice. Fresh juicy apple opening with a boozy woody dry down. Can definitely be worn all year, including during the summer. Just go easy on the sprays. I don’t get any ambroxan in this fragrance whatsoever so kind of confusing that that’s a note. But yeah, great stuff, versatile and sexy.

Sweetboy05

Pineapple and vanilla. Smells like apple juice and I love it!

cypriotsister

If Angels’ Share smelt like the freshly baked cinnamon crust pastry on an apple pie 🥧 then Apple Brandy On The Rocks is the liquored filled boozy & tarte semi sweet apple pie FILLING. 😍🍏

Opens up with a crisp green apple ✨🍏 giving it a beautiful sparkling freshness & with vanilla in the background to smooth it out slightly. The longer it’s on the skin, the fruitiness from the apple 🍏 & pineapple 🍍 take a step back with the boozy & woody notes taking centre stage!
This is where it could lean masculine for some, even for me although it still maintains some sweetness from the vanilla & the apple is always there making it wearable for my taste 💚🤍

Perfectly unisex 💃🕺& perfectly versatile!
This is not dense or cloying & has a gorgeous airiness that i’ll definitely be wearing this spring ⛅️ but can totally rock in the dead of winter! ❄️

emil1724

literally smells like an Apple brandy, or any apple based alcohol. Not dense and cloying as angels share, but still sweet. all year wear could work

Pepeb007xx

how can someone say that this is better then Angels share? I dont get it, its not even close
not safe blind buy, try it before u buy it for sure, its total other kind of scent like AS, becouse AS is masterpiece, this is like -2 levels down

LadyDoc

Sooo.... I love an apple scent. I love a fruity scent. Something about how the apple is mixing with the rum makes me think of regrettable nights in college and the subsequent nausea in the mornings. The scent memory is really very intense for me. I loved the sample I got, so I bought a full bottle, and now I feel like I can't wear it. If anyone is interested in buying a 50mL that has been sprayed one time, let me know!

Jays_Juice

Love this juice! In my opinion this can be a year round scent which I plan to do. On my skin the apples, rum, and pineapple shine throughout the life of the fragrance. The vanilla does come into play more in the dry down but not so much that I feel it’ll be cloying in the summer. Definitely a repurchase for me after my travel size and 50ml are done.

Neil_laurence

Reminds me of cold winter days and warming from the boozy green apple scent.
I originally ordered a sample shortly after this was released and enjoyed the smell but it didn’t really work for me as a fragrance.
However my wife loved the smell and so I bought her a full bottle as a birthday gift. She has told me that a few times she has been complimented and asked what she is wearing.
Clever packaging with the bottle mimicking a glass of liquor.

ThornyComplexRose

At first spray it smells like a green apple....very fresh, bordering a sparkling vibe. The original 1st few seconds it gives me unisex, but then it leans more masculine right away. I can still smell the apple, but the other notes come in that remind me of a fresh/sporty cologne for men. It does smell really nice, but I'd rather smell this on a man than myself, so I will be returning it.

It's sibling Angel's Share on the other hand is very sweet, and leans more feminine, which I own.

For men I would consider this a sporty day scent for Spring and Summer.

Jnspeas1

Really wish that perfectly unisex, airy, juicy apple opening lasted throughout the life of this fragrance. After about 5-10 minutes it becomes a totally different scent that leans rather masculine. Ultimately keeping me from buying a FB. Darn! :(

lanajito

At first spray, it was boozy, as it should be, but not too boozy that it knocks you out. I could barely smell the cardamom and bergamot because the apple, rum, brandy, pineapple and vanilla notes quickly took over, and managed to stay noticeable throughout the fragrance journey. Upon dry down, I could smell a hint of the oakmoss and cedar, but it was a pleasant surprise that the apple and pineapple notes were still present. The fragrance reminds me of a freshly made hot apple cider. Would definitely wear for the fall/winter season, but I would entertain wearing this for spring/summer with the fruity notes, but of course in less sprays.

tessture

This is a lovely lovely apple brandy that dries to a BBW quality apple-blend body spray/bath gel smell. But wait for it: Full dry down is a spiced apple vanilla custard that smells AWEsome. This is Apple Crumble. A looooong time later, the dry down is smoky wood. I'm not sure I want to pay these prices to smell like an autumn dessert, but geez, it's nice to sniff this one.

FragranceAddict207

This very well might be my absolute favorite fragrance of all time for the cold season and holidays. It reminds me of thanksgiving and Christmas all wrapped into one. The Apple accord is probably the best smelling apples on the market. To me it smells like a warm apple pie covered in brown sugar and a scoop of vanilla ice cream, with a slight hint of very sweet and subtle tobacco and brandy. If you have a 50ml refillable atomizer bottle you can get a refill for a great price. The only thing I have a complaint about it the longevity, it could definitely be a little stonger and longer lasting. If you enjoy this scent then I highly recommend Angles Share as well.

SELFCARE_INTROVERT

Try It! Buy It! That’s it that’s all! It’s absolutely amazing. It’s like a Fruit Pie Glazed in Rum. It’s just a Beautiful Fragrance from Start to Finish.

timothybcat

The opening is a juicy, citrusy burst: the tang of sour green apple playing tug o' war with the ripe syrupy pineapple. The cardamom gives this a cool undercurrent that cuts through the sweetness a little. There is something boozy that straddles the fence between oak and pecan (the nut, not pecanwood). None of these notes truly fade, they simply wax and wane. Really a beautiful interplay. Definitely sweet & fruity, but not cloying. Got a full bottle of this one, which is very rare.

blake.lee

Unpopular opinion, this is better and more wearable in more situations than Angel’s Share. It is the Apple pie filling without the heavy buttery crust. My 10 year old smelled every cologne and unisex fragrance at Sephora and then brought this to me to purchase as his first very own fragrance. I about died he picked the most expensive one in the store lol! Wasn’t expecting that but I guess I have been training him since birth. I had him spray himself liberally to “live with it” while we went to get coffee and a cake. He still loved it after “living with it” so my plan didn’t work. He now owns a cologne that costs some people’s monthly car payment. We will be sharing it though.

mizz_g0at

This is more fresh than I would expect. The apple and pineapple come out right away, and while it carries that for a decent amount of time, I found that there's a slight woodiness that comes out in the dry down. The ambroxan really lingers, and that's not my favorite, since it makes it kind of meh. I wish it had a little more vanilla, rum, or cedar in it to balance out the sharp fruits and ambroxan. Ultimately, I like it, but I'm not going to repurchase.

barwench

Sublime. Upon first spray, my partner and I both agreed that it reminded us of cinnamon-y apple pie. So lovely and delicious.

yeesa_

Very boozy and warm but leans more masculine on my skin.

Mariyamokshina

Smells exactly like s apple pie filling with a splash of rum extract . I recently made this at home and this fragrance smells just like it ! Brown sugar , apples and cinnamon . Why hasn’t cinnamon been mentioned as a main note ? It’s something I can’t even get past as I’m not a fan of smelling like cinnamon . Once it dries down , the cinnamon on turns a woody scent . Overall I’m just not a fan .

DearAlexabell

Strong apple scent on first spray, a little bit of spicy, you got that booze. Better than bath and body but I can’t stop getting the vibes due to the Apple type smell… this scent is ok, if ur super into apple then you’d like it but fruit isn’t my usual scent profile so I’m meh about it. I find this more feminine leaning, especially at first but after dry down & wearing for a little slightly more unisex passable to me.

Rated_mo

It has the booziness , the woodyness and the fresh fruity vibe... everything seems okay but it's not...no matter how hard I tried ...it still smells like a candle or like an expensive shower gel...it doesn't smell like a men's perfume ...i could say it's for the lack of depth or the emphasis on the apple note ...not one of my top 10 or even 20 unfortunately:(

HueloBien

Wearing Apple Brandy was an experience.
First the opening. The apply brandy blast was noticeable. It’s a tricky fragrance because you may think 4-5 sprays are not enough but it was (it all depends when and where you are wearing the fragrance). In my case, gathering with a group of friends for dinner and drinks. I didn’t want to choke anyone.

While waiting for my partner, I started to get whiffs of the brandy. The smell felt like it was coming from an apple brandy wooden barrel.
Imaging standing next to an Apple brandy barrel. The brandy in it was almost gone, but when you stand next to it, and lean toward the barrel, the brandy was dominant, but not directly from the liquor but from the walls of the barrel that soak the liquor. Delicious and very realistic.

It’s unisex, and it work beautifully on my skin.
Stayed on me for 6-7 solid hours and I couldn’t be happier with the fragrance.
It’s not beast mode at all, and I am glad for that. I want the fragrance I own to get noticed on at an arm length distance. After that, it can be obnoxious.

I bought a backup bottle because this baby is gonna get ton of use.
I even think I can wear this in the fall, winter, and spring. Summer, only at night and if is fresh.

It’s in my top 5 favorites now.

Ilikewhatilike

Versatile gourmand. The apple / booze combo is around, but this one is very wearable and delicious, without being cloying or overdoing the spices (limiting it to christmas wear).

I think Kilian nailed it with l’heure verte, and I find apple brandy on the rocks in the same category ‘interesting, but wearable, booze note, but versatile’. quality ingredients.

freddielawry1

smells like fresh apple and rum. Sweet, boozy, unisex and gourmand.

samy360

Scent 4/5 - The pyramid is quite accurate; citrus and bergamot notes top off a strongly boozy, sweet leaning apple heart, built on a well performing cedar and ambroxan base. Top notes lean feminine, base notes more masculine. I like it better on my wife than myself.

Performance 5/5 - projects for 3ft for 4 hours, hovers over skin for 10 hours. Brandy and rum carry well in sillage, the base notes less so.

Value 2/5 - It’s quite expensive. Try to find it on a sale or deal if you can.

Overall 3.5/5 - well-crafted and well-named with great performance. Alcohol forward scents aren’t my favorite but, but this smells delicious - gourmand lovers will enjoy this. Price is hefty but worth it for you like the alcohol and gourmand lovers

Velja

Brutal! Refreshing, good longevity 8+ hours and solid projection. Worth the price for me. Well blended with nature feeling vibes. Best for spring and summer but it could be worn all year around by all means. Safe blind buy for most of people. To me its definetly more male. Very versatille for every occassion. Well done Kilian.

JamesGamez

Boozy, fresh, slightly sweet green apple. It’s AMAZING. Wonderful for all year round IMO.
Projection and longevity is great!!
Definitely FB worthy.

itter of the soul

Work of art !! sexy mature man in a bottle. Actually, I couldn't recognize any of the notes until the guy there explained to me ..that what makes it fascinates me.

By Kilian Apple Brandy On The Rocks.

This is a masterpiece full stop! If you like boozy gourmands that lean sweet? Buy a sample right now.
Where do I even start with this frag.

First off this was an absolute love at first sniff for me and that love has only gotten stronger!
To start this frag opens with an apple note from heaven, I mean it is absolutely sublime.
I personally think of it as a crisp, green, apple with a caramel coating that has been dipped in the finest brandy there is!
This caramel apple note lingers through the entire fragrances wearing, as it dries down, the cedar and ambroxan start to steal the show in the best way possible. The ambroxan is the key element to the frag not being too sweet.
It's the perfect marriage between sweet and salty (but still leaning sweet) and with the boozy note it is perfect!

This fragrance undoubtedly has a base of Cedar, Ambroxan, and a beautiful Vanilla. after the fragrance finally settles down, those notes are exactly what I am left with and I couldn't be happier about that.

Longevity is quite good on me.
I get 4-6 hours with an intimate projection and a wonderful sillage. The base notes last about 8+ hours on my skin this is where that ambroxan really shines in pushing the longevity. On clothes I get 48+ hours.

At the end of the day, this fragrance pushes the By Kilian house to the forefront of my collection and might just be my new favorite house.

Thank you By Kilian
Cheers, with Apple Brandy on the Rocks!

windchime_00

Starts off as boozy *green* apple. Boozy notes in food or fragrance either intrigue me or make me ill. Especially in fragrance it can really turn me off by coming off as cheap alcohol, or worse, the smell of alcohol emanating from the skin of someone who over indulges. Luckily, ABotR intrigues me!

It is unisex to feminine to my nose. Definitely a night time fall scent.

After about an hour, it is less bright green apple and more comforting apple pie. This is like a a good scent if you want to project a wifey image, yet not too serious. If I was still a bartender I would probably pick this up a lot, as it is unique, playful, flirty, smells high quality, but not austere at all. It's the kind of thing that will make people smile with an eye twinkle and ask what it is.

I really enjoy it and got a deal on multiple samples. I can't justify buying a whole bottle because it doesn't fit my life right now. It fits niche moments I'm not experiencing right now, but if I find a good deal on a bottle, I'll probably snag it and then just spray it on for walking the dog or something lol

emilyjxne

Not a “bad” fragrance, I like how it smells but something about it doesn’t agree with me & makes me feel carsick.

Brysxb

I tried this perfume for the first time a year ago. I was in love at first sniff. fast forward last week. I tried it again then had doubts. I could've sworn it reminded me of PDM Greenly because of that apple note. Apple note tends to dominate on my skin so I really wanted to return it cause I didn't see the point of having two perfumes that smell the same. Buy boy was I wrong...This perfume is the bomb.

Lexdubbss

I think this smells quite good on my skin. I actually think this is less masculine than angels share on me. I did see the review below mine, though and absolutely cackled because I can totally smell hamster shavings in this. It’s nice to have as a sample but not anything I need in my collection

sejohnson77

Am I the only one smelling a dirty hamster cage when I sniff this?

Zbounce94

I got a free sample of this and it's absolutely lovely. I'm kind of upset that I have the sample now. Makes me want a full bottle, but that price tag hurts lol.

I already loved it on paper, where it smells like slicing the skin off of a juicy, red apple on a hot day. But on skin? That's where the brandy comes into play and it is... wow. It's thick, boozy, syrupy, a little smoky. Reminds me of christmas nights with my family, when all the kids have gone off to play with their new toys and the adults beak out their drinks and guitars. Festive spirits, live music, the bottles of scotch and rum that only get served during the holidays. I'll cherish my sample as a little bottle of nostalgia.

calypsoorangeblossom

This fragrance was love at first sight! It smells very different on paper than on the skin. On paper, the apple and cardamom are dominant, but once it is on the skin, it became much more boozy and sexy. It is a skin that lasts on the skin for about 5-6 hours on the skin. It is not beast mode, so I am a bit disappointed at that. I got the sample size at Sephora and feel so sexy when I wear this. I have received many, many compliments on this scent. On my skin, the cedar and the apple blend beautifully on my skin and give a seductive experience. I just wish it did not sit so close on the skin. Perfect for all seasons, but I am excited to wear this in the Fall. Great perfume (it is also not too mature, I am 21 and feel like a siren that lures men). ;D

bellabae

A gorgeous, bold, sexy scent for fall and winter. Love at first sniff. Lasts about 6h on me. Only need a couple sprays. This scent is definitely unisex. Would be sexy on anyone

Dramaloladiva

This is •*•*•D E L I C I O U S•*•*•

A wonderful blend for Fall, crisp and fresh Green Apples in oak/woody barrel, spices and a subtle boozy note, absolute perfection as the weather is turning colder. I love to wear it in the Fall/Winter because this blend smells much more delicious in cooler temperatures (at least, on my skin).
This is definitely not sweet nor warm or gourmand like Angels Share is. But it is very woodsy and “fruity” so there can be a subtle comparison to Angels Share, in a small sort of way. Perhaps the Apple/Booze note is what connects the two? To me though, they are very different and I own both and love each equally ❤️💚🍎🍏

Longevity, sillage and overall composition are top notch. Apple Brandy On The Rocks is a fresh take on a Boozy kind of perfume and one of my favorites! It makes me happy to welcome the colder months of the year in style 🍁🍂💚✨🍏✨💚 🍂🍁

likesleet

embodiment of fall. crisp apples and rum, not not nauseating or too heavy. woody apple spices but still fresh

NiqueK

Has zero in common with the original Apple Brandy NY exclusive from Kilian. It’s a lot more fruity and lighter, easier to wear for sure. The original is much darker and has a huge (but close to the skin) oak barrel note in it. This one has mostly lighter fruitier notes and is not a heavy dark scent at all.
So I wore this out today, and I am changing my opinion slightly — it’s not the best performer but it’s not bad. There’s a really good creamy woods sweet accord that I like, even if it doesn’t project as well as I want it to.
If this were priced more reasonably I’d buy it and I also think that I like it better than Angel’s share.

Blackacid

Great one.
Scent 10

marsfragrance

I adore this fragrance. It smells like an apple turnover drenched in brandy, which fits with the name. It can be a bit cloying if you spray too much however, so go light with the sprays. I would put Angels’ Share above this one, but I still really like it. It has the same issue as Angels’ Share as well, which is the price. $210 for 50 mL of this fragrance is too much. Even Dior Sauvage Elixir isn’t at that price point for the same amount.

skoenig4

Does this fragrance smell pleasant? Yes! Do I like this fragrance? Sure. Would I buy this? No. I believe I could get something very similar for a fraction of the price at Bath & Body Works in September-December. This is a quintessentially autumnal scent. I cannot imagine wearing this in any other season, even winter (honestly). It smells almost cliche, apples, with some booziness. It is exactly, what it claims to be- Apple Brandy (on the rocks). There is soooo much apple in this that it becomes slightly boring after a while. I am not saying this isn't a pleasant fragrance- it is! I just think I could find better value by looking for the "fall apple spice" scented hand soaps at B&BW instead of spending big money on this fragrance.

Gerrit71

It's an okay fragrance. I'm somewhat underwhelmed. The Killian quality is there, but as with so many of their fragrances, I wished it would be less transparent and have more of a punch. On my skin, the fragrance had good longevity, but the projection seemed rather poor. I got a vial to test the fragrance. I'll use it, but for me, it's not bottle worthy. Too bad, because I really wanted to like this.

Shadow_Slammer

I love this fragrance. I don’t know if anyone noticed but this dry-down is very close to Lacoste Pour Homme mens from 2002 (One of my favorites). The opening is different, but the dry-down smells like a luxury version. Wonder if they copied. Overall if you liked Lacoste Pour Homme back in the day, this is the evolved dream version.

I have strong feelings towards brand By Kilian. My first niche perfume was By Kilian. And since then, I can’t stop exploring world of niche perfumery. As to Kilian, I have to say I love majority of their creations.

So Apple Brandy is their newer creation. And I am a fan of it! It’s light yet boozy scent. Great for summer. Cardamom and bergamot burst with freshness when first applied to skin. And then scent evolves into sweet boozy apple vanilla perfection. Wood and moss notes are barely there. Also for some reason I pick up cinnamon note, even though it’s not in pyramid.

Performance is great, it lasts for good 8 hours and leaves a nice trail. It is definitely unisex.

And the bottle is definitely vanity display worthy. I love that they made bottle look Locke a nice glass for brandy.

100% love, will repurchase and recommend!

Lykopa

Oh my goodness the opening of this is absolutely gorgeous! Fresh cut apples, lovely and light. A note of apple stays as it dries down, but the scent becomes much more warm and spicy. I am not usually a boozy babe but I actually don’t mind the rumminess at all. This is perfect for cold winter nights, like an apple dessert. Now if the opening came as its own perfume, I would be over the moon.

Adog22

Pretty nice nothing crazy. Kinda like a much lighter and fresher summer version of angels share

likesleet

this smells exactly how you think it will in the best way. not too much alc. i don't know what apple brandy smells like so this just smells like apple, cinnamon caramel-y, woody

photonparable

The original Apple Brandy DNA freshened up and arguably made more unisex. I'd never wear the OG of this during the summer, but this one is definitely passable, and sits in the same "summer gourmand" category as Chanel Allure Homme Edition Blanche and JPG Le Beau.
My girlfriend is only passively into this stuff but routinely uses this one from my collection, as well as Le Labo's The Matcha 26.
The freshness and unisex nature comes with an additional facet of feeling a bit more youthful I'd say. I definitely get more of an apple juice vibe from this than the original. That's totally fine, as I'd imagine it'd be awkward to reek of booze during the peak of summer.
I don't know, I think this one gets a bad rap because nobody likes flankers as much as new compositions, especially when it's from a brand that's only just starting to put them out more often. If this one came before the original, it would be a smash hit!

Stoned.Zombie.Cat

Apple Brandy was the perfect name for this. When I first sprayed this I could Identify the apple more than I have in any other "Apple" perfume, I have ever smelled. The brandy comes from the fact that this perfume is so intoxicating.

I have been wanting to try a Killian perfume for forever but they are SO expensive! I finally got my hands on a sample of Apple Brandy and I can definitely see why its so expensive. This scent is other worldly and overwhelming. I can't get enough but I can't handle too much either

spiceysauce5

smells almost identical to Dunhill desire for a man, the red bottle from 2000. Obv higher quality, but smells extremely similar. Good if you like a versatile sweet apple vanilla, this time with some booze thrown in. Not special enough imo, but if the genre appeals to you its certainly nice and pleasant.

TheSweaterGirl

Oftentimes fragrances with cedar strike me as kind of weird. This fragrance is ants on a log to me😅. Celery, peanut butter and raisins. Maybe apple and pineapple compote with pencil shavings and caramel drizzle. Weird.

faisalalmansour

Smells like its name.
The on the rocks accord is lovely...
Beautiful cocktail of rum, moss, & vanilla!

ap528

It smells exactly like its name... just apples and brandy (to me it smells more like rum than brandy). For me, the scent does not change AT ALL when applied on the skin!!! which is amazing! Its the same as when you spray it on paper, clothes, doesn't matter, it stays constant. The booziness fades within an hour or 2 when applied on the skin. Great perfume! reminds me of DKNY apple (which was too bitter, and sharp for my liking to be a good apple scent), but Kilian has done apples WAAAAAAAy better than DK and much smoother! this is a pure LIKE for me

ASK910

This is a tricky one. I was blown away when I first smelt it on a test strip. I was like WOW THIS IS BANGING. I had to buy a full-sized bottle. Then I went back home, tried it on my skin. It smelt so different, like straight up spices with a hint of freshness. No booziness at all on my skin. Don't get me wrong, that fresh spicy scent smelt alright. But I was disappointed that it was so different on a test strip.
Wouldn't buy it again. It's just not for me.

michaeld2986

I sampled this one at Sephora and I'm afraid it's a hard pass for me. Do not blind buy!

gonzalez-alcantar01

ok smells like an plug in air freshener

Kaylovely

It smells like you just brushed your teeth, going to breakfast. You eat microwaved apple strudel given to you buy your hungover dad. He happens to love Brandy. You're reminded of this when you lean to kiss his porous cheek. Gusted by his black pepper cologne to mask it all. (Black pepper note is coming from the cinnamon) not a deep cinnamon but a molecule or essence of the bark. I wanted to buy this but I would opt for the green apple bottle by DKNY. Besides I can't expect to like and have the whole liquors. I could come around to it like Angels Share. After trying Mica d'oro and hearing AS was a dupe, I sprayed my year old sample. To my astonishment it was beautiful; not super heavy on the cinnamon like initial thought. Realizing the Rum has a spice of its own. L'Heure. Probably L'Heure. As I have watery fruit such as cucumber, melon already.
Uhhh, this smells so good!!

Sniffs123

I am weak to apple scents so its no surprise I was drawn to it. My concerns were the booziness. I've had it for about 2 weeks so here are my thoughts:
Initial notes: The apple is prominent, but begins to fade at about hour 4. The brandy and rum become more prominent.
Longevity: I only sprayed it once on my wrist about 7 hours ago and I still smell it.
I love layering so I added DKNY's Be Delicious so that it brings out more apple and brightens it up. I really like the combo since its spring. I'll probably love this even more in the fall. But I don't care too much about season so the combo is poppin. I like it more than Love Don't be Shy if that helps.

Dantheman41

Just tried it from Nordstrom. I like it a lot as this scent is very similar to the one I use to wear 10 years ago. I has a lot of characteristics with YSL La Nuit L'homme. From the head of the sprayer, the apple really shines like YSL L'homme but on skin, it got darker. The Cardamom is very noticeable in this and overtime, it will take over and start becoming more like YSL LA Nuit.

At the very least, I'd hope it would be like the original formulation of YSL LA Nuit but it just doesn't have that little spicy kick. It's smoother so if you prefer that then this is worth a try. Imo though, forking over big money for something that smells like a designer sort of kills it. Solid frag though.

Bubbles1964

Initially I really liked this fruity rum cocktail, but the longer I wore it the more synthetic it became. A reviewer below mentions Yankee Candle—think holiday themed scent—and I’m in agreement. Not bad, but not great either. I can easily imagine this working on the right person, especially in cold weather.

Airi2000

This scent is my signature scent for cold or cool weather. The scent and the bottle are extremely beautiful. It has a heavy, sweet, woody, slightly fruity, and elegant brandy scent that is perfect for winter. I often get compliments from my friends when I wear this.

Mjchaelj

This reminds me of walking into Yankee Candle and smelling their candles. Cozy warm apple pie. It’s really nice!

Got a sample of this, and I’m glad I did, because I do not like it. I heard it was a polarizing scent, as some people like it and some don’t, and I’m in the latter.

I do smell the apple, as it’s in the name. But it’s not a fresh apple. It’s more like a candied apple. Dipped in sweet red candy. Gives it this strange undertone that I do not know how to properly describe. Someone once described this as smelling similar to Boss Bottled, and while I do notice the similarities, they are nothing alike, as Apple Brandy is drier in comparison.

It is synthetic smelling. This isn’t for everyone, and due to the price, try before you buy.

Stinky whiskey Buttons

Iff you go into this thinking Its gonna be like Angels share you Will not be pleased, this is a far greater perfume imo, Its a fresh Apple and Booze, then you get a Nice dry down that is lavender and ambroxan, the cedar and rum note make it a warm scent that turns into a more classic male smelling perfume, Its a Nice realese and by far the best in the line iff you happen to like smelling expensive appel brandy

The longlivity and sillage is ok and last 4-5 hrs

Not for me, was expecting a thick crust pastry gourmond perfume with sticky apple. What I got was a cheap synthetic apple trail, can't detect any pineapple. Smells quite aftershave esque, reminds me of a cheap mens perfume with fake apple smudged into it. Wanted to love but glad I brought a sample before buying.

I love it!

Albedo

I sampled this scent at Sephora out of curiosity.

The bergamot and cardamom start off as a rambunctious and sharp scent that made me recoil. I held my arm up to my friend, who immediately shuddered. We silently walked away and did not spare the bottle another glance.

And then half an hour later, I'm resting my head on my hand, desperately trying not to fall asleep during a lecture when my nose detects a pineapple and vanilla scent (through a mask, as well). It wasn't the super-sweet artificially-flavored candy type of scent, but a more soft pineapple and a weaker but nonetheless creamy vanilla. What an interesting turn of events.

Then at home, I sniffed my hand again and was hit with a strong craving for a sweet pastry. It now slightly resembled a boozy apple pie — and I say slightly because the pineapple note was still lingering in the background. Apple Brandy was completely gone by the end of the night, but that was only because I did not spray it enough times.

I am still cautious of the opening notes but the heart notes easily make this one of the most captivating and unforgettable woody/spicy fragrances I have ever tried. It's a shame that the price range is ludicrously high.

Disappointed 🥺

wdpnrds

Scooped a bottle of the original today - now looking forward to trying this as it looks very promising!

erika.isme.98

I'm interested to see how this performs on my skin because it seems similar to I Am Trash by ELDO which I adore. I don't think it's quite on that level of sharp/spicy and it's definitely not fresh like IAT. Still nice and I'll report back later! This is my first By Kilian.

mszigetihu

They should have just re-released the original Apple Brandy, this is so much worse in every way.

hola gigi

This makes me picture a freshly detailed car with leather interior and a cinnamon apple air freshener in the vents. Leans masculine, but not heavy or overpowering.

thegoob

Not just apple but a lacquered, boozed up, well-mixed apple. There's, as mentioned by others, a dense, cool, smooth texture flavored by sharp spices and some dry wood. It's not fresh, but it's bright; deep mahogany and grown-up fruit you could bite or drink, wear in the sunshine or to the evening gathering with friends. It's so evocative, real, and vivacious. Apple Brandy on the Rocks is just a masterclass in mature fruity perfumes. I'd say it sits in the middle of feminine and masculine. Sometimes when I go to sniff my wrist I smell less citrus, apple, and lacquer and more dark woods and brown liquor. Then other times I get a quick overtone of sweet maple, or caramel, but you don't have to stew in it, it's simply garnish. I just think it's absolutely fantastic and worth the hype.

Edit:
After trying the sample again on Day 2 and 3, I'm having similar issues to other reviewers with longevity, sillage, and complexity-- the first time I tried it out, I definitely got all the above nuances and it smelled fantastic; it may have gotten on my long-sleeved clothing with could have lengthened and impressed the fragrance more than my skin. The next two tries, I find I'm going straight from the opening to a wooden dry down which doesn't project more than a few inches. Dabbing onto clothes does seem to help, but the complexity is still lacking. Weird! Given the near-$200 price point of this bottle, I'd refrain from blind buying until you can make sure it's not finnicky on you. Otherwise, that's a serious downer for this one.

chakukan

I'm smelling pineapple and I love it!

Jareth

A lovely, warming fragrance without being too dark or weighty. A heavenly, almost floral opening then dries down to something approaching a stunningly-blended version of Boss Bottled, except with much finer ingredients, especially the musks. I always disliked Boss Bottled but I quite like this - and I don’t usually like appley fragrances either. I don’t find this to have too much cardamon but then I have quite a lot of spicy fragrances in my collection so this seems ok in comparison.

It's certainly light and fruity like brandy (and not heavy like Guinness or red wine)...except for one key thing: I can't really smell the brandy or cognac note! It smells more like apple pie to me. Even the thick dose of vanilla even adds some doughyness of the crust. I can see I'm in the minority about the brandy/cognac though, judging by the votes on notes!

There are still some very obvious aromachemicals in this (as there are in spades in BB, slightly cluttering up the profile), but this is overall more inviting. Again, I don't find the ambroxan too noticeable...and I also normally hate them too. Massive performance too, which is a bonus for a niche at this price. Lovely. Needs a dash more oakmoss for balance.

Spicy89

Maybe too much cardamom, makes it smell very medicinal. Longevity on my skin is around 3 - 4 house.

Pekoms

Ferrari black and Hugo boss bottle had a baby and the baby was this. A spicier version of them with better quality. However is very overpriced. $100 would have been a good price.

Thatbwoy

I ordered a sample of this by mistake but I wanted to test it anyway. I don’t hate it. Though I don’t think it’s as deserving of the hype. I get the cardamom, Apple, vanilla and alcohol (I don’t know what rum they referenced but it wasn’t Bajan, it was more like Bacardi). I was expecting a smooth boozy apple fragrance which I would’ve loved but instead I think this is lighter and would probably smell much better in the air than it does on skin. It’s ok it doesn’t blow me away.

Rating: 7/10 (that’s being very generous)

SmellsLikeAdventure

Cardamon bomb. If you like cardamon and enjoy fall candles, this is likely a safe blind buy. My nose picked up some booziness but the apple felt fleeting. It was not awful but smelled like a drugstore fall scent rather than a beautifully rounded high end perfume.

agentj

This just makes me sad. In my haste to replace my tiny, cherished 3ml spray of the original Apple Brandy, I neglected to notice that this contains one of my skin's enemies, the dreaded pineapple. While that's all I can smell in the beginning, thankfully it dissipates quickly. Still, this is nothing like the original, and maybe it's not meant to be. I'll just sit here wallowing in my sadness, and the inability to understand why so many truly great fragrances are discontinued. C'est la vie.

As far as the scents listed below that this reminds people of, the only one I feel comes close is Histories 1804. Another with that initial, sour "pineapple that in no way resembles pineapple" top note. I do think it's only fair to add that I've had limited success with Kilian. Aside from the OG Apple Brandy, I liked Vodka on the Rocks and a couple of others.

OTA Mom

Cardamom and ambroxan for me, too, and doesn't develop into anything else. I liked Angels Share better.

The Wolf

I was sure I was going to hate this. I don't like apple Brandy, apple juice or apple sauce.

But this one is excellent! I don't pick up pineapple, I get a boozy cardamom with a sweet seductive touch. Smooth as silk, no rough edges. I think this is much better than Angel's Share IMO.

This is what Roja Enigma should have been, and it was done by Este Lauder!😄

I only tried this once, so take this with a grain of salt.
Edit: I wore this again and I'm slightly reducing my score as I noticed the drydown is amber but still retains a boozy nuance, but add a little bit of maple syrup which I'm not crazy about.

Scent 7/10
Performance 7.5/10

Alexandra.kom

On my skin is all cardamon and ambroxan
No no for me…

MaVidman87

I wanted to love it and gave it the old college try, but it just smelled like straight-up celery water for me. So bummed. Had to return it. Trying Angels' Share next.

twoski

Initially i get a slightly spicy, slightly salty apple note (almost like smelling the peeled skin of an apple instead of the actual flesh). There's a smidge of citrus and pineapple there in the background. The boozy notes drag it in a less sweet direction as it dries down. The vanilla is present, but only barely.

I kind of get a men's cologne vibe as the initial strong fruity notes fade a bit. I think it's the ambroxan that does that, it imparts too much of a salty note that grows in strength a tad too much for my liking. The sweetness that exists in this fragrance tends to be muddled by ambroxan/cardmom/wood/moss.

I'm on the fence about this one. It's definitely one of those "true unisex" ones where it's hard to say if it leans more masculine or feminine. In my opinion it leans ever so slightly into masculine territory. I'd probably fall in love with this one if the ambroxan and cardamom were a bit more toned down.

amatuerfraghead

I thought this was going to be apple juice in a bottle after smelling from the sprayer, but when sprayed on my skin its actually more complex than that (a good thing!). The apple is still there, but its more bitter, and i can pick up cardamom and moss with some boozy notes. Actually it gives off similar vibes to xerjoff zefiro for some reason. The smell is nice, but the performance is absolutely terrible. It immediately become a skin scent, and the longevity is very weak (barely last 2 hours). Even i put my nose on my skin where i sprayed, i can hardly smell it. Disgustingly overpriced.

antolin1

I am surprised I like this as much as I do, because Kilian and I do not get along – compositions are lovely, but tend to last less than an hour on me. This one stays put, and sends me into a great mood. I love that this apple is crisp and not creamy, and I get just enough boozy sweet tobacco in the dry down that a bit more nuanced depth rounds the corner, and I like it. I get the critiques that this comes off more as a designer fragrance than niche – I chalk this up to a lack of complexity. However, I get no synthetic vibes. It does seem a no-brainer perfume, and this is fine by me, as it’s at a better price point than most Kilians and also doesn’t go ghost in 10 mn flat. This is lovely for layering, and I am looking forward to combining with other fragrances. Happy I grabbed this, as it turned out to be a pleasant surprise.

Lucyintheskywithdiamonds

Lovely! Strong opening of baked apple (no butter) swiftly morphing into semi-sweet delightful blend of apple, pineapple and spice. I smell no heavy booziness here. If only it would project stronger and last longer… Spraying on clothes helps with longevity but anyway remains rather intimate.

OneidaWelty

Highly disappointed with this scent. I generally don’t criticize fragrances as I feel if something doesn’t match my skin chemistry, doesn’t mean its bad. Its just about the skin and choices. But for this one, I could not resist but posting this review. This is truly apple juice with musk packed in a spray bottle with such a huge price. It reminds me of body and bath works and I feel buying this was worst decision I ever made for a fragrance. About perfromance also, the projection is super week and silage is just for maximum 2 hours. It truly ruined my expectations as checking the notes I was sure to buy it. Too expensive apple juice. A big fail scent! Super NO NO NO from my side.

Jercharlieze

Designer's vibe, below par for me. I had much expectation of it because its predecessor Apple Brandy was very great one. At first time I wore this AB-OTR, it reminded me to some designer sport party perfumes like Dior sport line or those Paco Rabane stuffs, not impressive introduction of I and this one, it was much below from my benchmark which set at the first AB. However, I found that it is similar to The Boss bottle brothers: EDP and intense, the German Apples.

Cbenesko

Fresh apples, not offensive or synthetic. Blind buy worthy.

Cool Autumn Breeze

Like an obnoxious autumn scented candle from Target. I had to scrub it off.

stephen.patton

this is niche version of the legend timeless hugo boss bottled! its extremely similair and very pleasant, this is a good start off for beginners into niche perfumery or wanting to try boozy fragrances… it’s certainly not worth the price, this could easily been sold at £90 for 50ml never mind double the price. thanks to the ambroxan and woody notes, this is killians stronger longer lasting frags.. single malt remains my number 1 kilian frag… if you like hugo boss bottled.. you will enjoy this

fortunefavorsthefearless

There are several ways of describing this fragrance: 1. It is a fresher taker on the original Apple Brandy, though I wouldn't say there's enough difference to warrant a buy if you already have the original 2. Imagine a smokier and boozier take on Boss Bottled Intense, however the quality and smell is way better than that of BBI. The woods really play a big role here and it smells absolutely gorgeous in the air. Though if you are not a big fan of boozy fragrances, you'll think someone wearing this smells alcoholic, like they just drank a whole bottle of apple brandy.

muzzbait

Just tried this on after a looong lockdown, and I am SERIOUSLY relieved to say that, to my nose, it smells CLOSE ENOUGH to the original for me to say 'good enough. The parts of original Apple Brandy that I know and love are still there in the 'on the rocks' variant.
I first tried and fell in love with Apple Brandy back in 2014 or 2015 (confusing with Single Malt), and the parts that I love to smell randomly when I wear it I can get out of this version, so for me, I won't blow a small fortune locating and buying whatever remains of the original.
That said, this scent functions well on its own...

sibaraa

This is stunning. Im in the hunt for a great apple fragrance. I did order a sample of la danza nobile. Once it gets here, I will be doing a comparison and see who the winner will be...

fw2016

Right from the opening this reminded of Hugo Boss Bottled, especially when smelling it in the air. Smelling it from up close, this gets woodier as it evolves on the skin, with a hint of smokiness. Definitely one of the most designer smelling fragrances from the Kilian range. The type of sweet woody scent that will be pleasant and non offensive to the ones around the wearer, but will probably get boring after a few wearings. A solid release, albeit an unexciting one.

SuzScents

Fruity, citrusy with a woodsy dry down and quite masculine leaning. Not my cup o' tea.

AutumnJade

Perfect for fall evenings in New England! If you love the smell of apples and cedar, this one won't disappoint.

RayCashhhh

Was very curious about this, as I enjoyed Angel's Share and I'm a big fan of some of Sidonie Lancesseur's creations. This should really be named Pineapple Brandy on the Rocks, as the pineapple is front and center here. It smells good, not too boozy, but is pretty underwhelming. The dry down is just cedarwood and ambroxan, which again smells good, but for the price you would expect more. Longevity isn't the best either. Maybe I'll pick up a small decant of ABOTR, but I won't get a full bottle. 7/10.
