The One by Dolce&Gabbana is a Amber Floral fragrance for women. The One was launched in 2006. The nose behind this fragrance is Christine Nagel. Top notes are Peach, Litchi, Mandarin Orange and Bergamot; middle notes are Lily, Plum, Jasmine and Lily-of-the-Valley; base notes are Vanilla, Amber, Musk and Vetiver.

As it was envisioned by designers, The One is a fragrance for an exceptional woman who instantly draws attention, not only with her looks, but also with her manners, pose and inner world. This fragrance, like all of the fragrances of D&G house, is a \'fragrance with character\', special and alluring. Its oriental floral-fruity composition is very warm and sensual with powdery vanilla trace. The color of the fragrance perfectly matches its tone.

The composition opens with softly fresh mandarin, bergamot, litchi and peach. The heart is thin and balmy, with the notes of jasmine, lily of the valley and white lily which graciously intertwine with the fruity touch of plum. The woodsy-powdery base is created of vetiver root, amber, musk and vanilla. The One was created in 2006.

It's such a warm, summery scent. Like a hug in Italy on a hot evening.
There's an undertone of BO in this perfume that I find hard to ignore though.

AshleyDanielle

This perfume was my first blind buy after I saw a review on YouTube. It is a very clean, and fruity scent. Has very good lasting power on skin, I'd say 8-10 hours. It is also very rich and potent, so use lightly as it can trigger asthmatics if used heavily. To me, this scent is very tranquil and luxe; makes me feel happy and beautiful on the days I decide to wear it. The bottle is also one of my favorites, so simple and pretty. Would rebuy!

Kellyf058

She is well a well blended tropical, peaceful, day on the beach kind of vibe. The peach in this fragrance does not have that heavy synthetic smell that I have grown to despise in other peach forward fragrances. It's subtle and clean. Not really a skin scent, but more like that rich girl that smells effortlessly good. It's sophisticated and warm, and reminds me of those old money equestrian ads from the 90's.
When I first picked her up, early on in my fragrance journey, I sprayed her once and decided to keep her, but neglected to wear her again. I am glad I picked her back up and gave her another try. The one makes me feel grown today. Not grandma grown. Just grown.

rose4franc

Tasty but not tacky. I want it.

Evah1

Like others have stated, they have reformulated this and I’m really bummed. I have a bottle that I tried to date code and I believe is from around 2008- this is the scent I want to find again! I bought a bottle on eBay from 2017 and it is nonexistent on me. I tried the essence version and it’s not the same. Are any of the versions close? The eau? I particularly love something about the dry down, it is so elegant and lasts forever.

MadameMerola

I have recently started trying out fragrances I overlooked in the past because I had a *fragrance type* and didn’t personally try things I considered too floral or mainstream. I saw a bottle of this on sale online two weeks ago and because of my obsession with anything gold. I bought it.

I received it over a week ago and I was amazed at how good it smelt on my initial spraying of it. I have worn it a couple of times to test it properly before giving my review and it is a LOVE from me.

It evokes the feeling of someone beautiful, full of life, golden personality and confident of herself. Sillage is good and longevity is above average. I am in a hot climate that is also humid so that can affect the longevity.

It’s not a unique scent that people can guess what you are wearing immediately but it is very lovely that people will ask you what you are wearing.

Will I buy it again? At a discounted price, yes but I know myself, I will probably want to try something new because I am at that phase now were I am collecting fragrances that are blasts from the past or discontinued.

Smells sweet and fresh, like flowers and sunscreen at the beach. 8/10

Fragrances are an excellent barometer for the passing of times and trends.

When I smell this, it doesn't smell modern. Nor should it I suppose...but it causes my heart to ache just a *little bit*...because when this came out I was 16. Something about this composition feels nostalgic to me, although I never wore this when I was younger, and I don't think I knew anyone that did.

The peachy vanillic florals are very well blended. The vanilla along with the rest of this blend smells very soft and silken, not at all cakey or smothering (I like cake though, no shade on modern cakey frags). I can absolutely see how this is referenced often as a sensual fragrance, and how it would appeal to romantic partners. Because yes...there's something beautifully *bedroom* about this, but not at ALL risqué or overtly sexual (again, no shade, there's a place for that type of thing). The basenotes linger in such a wonderful way, and nothing juts out at all.

I really think this is gorgeously crafted, Christine Nagel did wonderful work here and I'm very glad to see this still on the shelves nearly 20 years later.

Sailor Pluto

I am not a fan of this type of scent. To me it's a bit generic and forgettable.. there's nothing wrong about it, but it also doesn't stand out.

vixxiimcmlxxxvii

This fragrance is insanely good!

I had a stupid rollerball of this that I ignored, literally didn’t care about it whatsoever, not even sure how I kept it as long as I have. Well I just decanted it into a travel sprayer which CHANGED EVERYTHING. From the rollerball, it’s “nice,” memorable but lacking something. When sprayed, it smells like an upscale hair salon and expensive skincare, like a beautiful rich woman who gives expensive just-because gifts and takes immaculate care of herself. Like you finally get the whole picture. It’s really, really lovely! Will make a nice bedroom air freshener since it’s not really my vibe. Still pleasantly surprised!

nhutucandy

There is no fruity in my skin, just white floral overload. Elegant lady for nights

pinkavocado

It is just not good for everyday scent but works great as night scent at spring time paired with little black dress. Perfect.

UnearthlyApothecary

I think it’s a little underrated, written off as just another elegant fruity floral but it’s much better than people let on. I’m a sucker for a good peach and The One is a wonderful example with a beautiful vanilla musk underlying the fruit but also it’s one of only a handful of mainstream women’s scents that I can think of offhand that has a very prominent vetiver accord. The vetiver is absolutely stunning here. Great performance and longevity. I have only the dregs of a bottle left and every time I wear it I am reminded of why it’s almost gone.

Lailove

This is a nice elegant, formal scent, feminine and very floral. I don't get much of the vanilla and Amber in this although i can smell it once it dries down, its very faint. It's a white floral for sure. The lily is very strong. Maybe more suited towards a more mature woman

Shimmer412

I still have my bottle from around 2010 (I was in my early 20s) as well as some body lotion and body wash, and I absolutely love this fragrance! To me it’s always been a warm, softly fruity, subtly sweet, white floral. Beautiful, feminine, elegant, and most of all, romantic.

I get mostly white florals, softly sweet vanilla, warm amber, powdery musk, and a subtle fruity peach scent. It’s absolutely lovely! I particularly enjoy wearing it during the springtime because of the romantic floral scent/feeling that I get. I do enjoy it during the fall and winter as well, especially because of its warmth. It makes me feel wrapped in cozy luxury. The One has been a staple in my collection for over 10 years, and I imagine it always will be.

I typically get great longevity with my fragrances, and The One is no exception, it lasts the entire day on me. The projection is nice too, it radiates out about an arm’s length from me.

Good girl, next door scent for basic wear

Arina8Sierra

This is a very “cute” & sweet smelling perfume. It really makes me think “the perfect girl next door” kind of thing. To me it is NOT a sexy scent. It is beautiful apricot & vanilla scent, with a creamed sugar smell to it. It smells delicious! (at least to me! Haha) Overall it’s a very nice scent, just not for everyone & definitely not for me. It’s just not my style.

orphangirl

This was a blind buy based on reviews culled from multiple sources. I love it. Soft peach and vanilla with an elegant floral undertone. It’s extremely feminine and makes a statement that manages to be both confident and subtle. The consensus is it’s best for fall and winter but I can also see it being perfect for a warm summer evening out to add a punch of sweetness to the ambient temperature. I’m so glad I trusted my gut and bought this. It is absolutely delightful.

vit_r

It's the first feminine scent that I tried to wear. So, I have nothing to compare it to. I like it.

jdb_

Okay this delivers. I haven’t smelled many fragrances like this- especially amongst the sugarbombs nowadays. It does seem suited to a woman in her most grown years. Elegant, signature, no nonsense type of perfume- but not heavy at all! I get vintage powder/lipstick, some soft florals, something a little green (fresh peach & vetiver?), and a creamy sweet base.. I picture a vamp from the 30’s, fluffy blonde curls, many double takes as she’s leaving the powder room, silver backless gown. Or maybe a woman on her own yacht discussing wine in a gorgeous linen set. Effortless, chic, grownT, feminine.

Update: reads much more powdery and sweet in warmer weather. Perfect for romantic days or nights- ideally cold or mild temps imo. I'm gonna wear it like crazy on classy date nights around the holidays, strolling bustling streets hand in hand, Sinatra playing, surrounded by trees adorned with lights *sigh* 😌

EuniceMine

It’s very sweet! Powdery vainilla with a hint of peach. That’s all I smell, is good for a night out or once in a while but not for everyday all day scent, it can be VERY intoxicating if over spray or make others around you annoyed of the scent if worn at work 😷

nepria

The One is very very sexy perfume, I love it! I had quite a time in my life with this perfume. When I was a student I was not very into perfumes and I bought Zara - Black Amber just because I liked the smell when I was waiting in line to buy my clothes. After a few wears of Black Amber I became obsessed! And when I found out that it is actually Dolce dupe... I ran! I ran to buy this precious beauty. I was wearing it nonstop, everywhere! I was going out a lot back then and the compliments I got.... Insane! This is a magnet! I found this to be a very very seductive perfume, it makes me very beautiful and confident! And after so many years I still love it! I think this is a perfect secret weapon to go on dates!

The peachy ambery vanilla combination is very distinctive to me, you would not mistake this scent with any other. If you want to have a perfect signature scent that people would remember you by and you get to like The One... GET IT. It's amazing! Timeless sexy beauty!

qofb

As someone who isn't a fan of peach in fragrance, nor of powdery vanilla, amber and patchouli combinations, this was a big no for me. If you like those things in fragrance though, you will probably enjoy this. I decluttered my bottle to someone who appreciated it, so a happy ending at least. 😊

JemmaBella

To me this fragrance is the epitome of classy, sexy elegance. Best worn in winter, it gives a cozy warm effect for me. Long lasting and you can definitely smell this on your clothes even a few days later.

Powerfulpatchouli

You bought this in 2008 to celebrate your first promotion at work only to be made redundant in the following years. Fast forward to now and you purchase again for the nostalgia only to realise why you didn’t make the cut.

disintigratedwoman

When I first smelled this back in 2009 or so, I was completely enamoured with this gorgeous vanilla scent.. it smelled grown-up, sexy and sophisticated. The bottle reminded me of a glass of the finest cognac in the most beautiful crystal ware. I was only a teenager at the time, and knew I was too young to pull it off, but couldn’t wait for the day that I would be older and add it to my collection. Fast forward 15 years - this one pops into mind, and I decide to check it out at my local Sephora. And unfortunately, it looks like The One has been heavily reformulated and is much weaker. Within less than 30 minutes of spraying it onto my wrist it became a skin scent on me - nothing like the rich, dense version from my teenage years. I was so heartbroken.

That said, I decided to still go forward and purchase the last bottle that remained at my local Sephora as I noticed it is no longer being sold in many places (looks like it’s being discontinued). It still smells beautiful, just so much weaker than the previous version. Hoping that multiple sprays can help address that.

To describe the scent - this smells like feminine luxury to me. I get white florals mixed with peach, and a beautiful vanilla underpinning it all. The ad with Scarlet Johansson is totally apt. I picture a beautiful blonde in a skintight black dress wearing this to a black tie event. It has a coziness to it that would allow it being worn in less formal settings too.

Projections

i know it's not listed but i smell a creamy boozy sweet light banana note that is very well blended
it is the classiest perfume i owe.

Mroger848

It was just ok… it’s smells nice but didn’t stand out. I think I need an intense version.. after I sprayed it I didn’t smell it .. my fiancé had to literally smell my neck to say if he liked it or not .. And in his words he said it’s nice but doesn’t stand out! Not a scrubber but wasnt for me.

freshperfumer

I had smelled this perfume someone else in 2008 and recently bought it for myself years later! I smell a bit of rose at the top notes too and a creamy vanilla in the dry down. Longevity is super good I could smell my arm even 5-6 hrs later but I guess the projection and sillage is too low? Any suggestions to increase at least the projection which I care a lot at perfumes? Is the "The One Intense-Gold" better in terms of projection/sillage maybe? I haven't smelled it yet but if there exists a same fragrance w/ better performance than the EDP one, that'd be my signature scent! Still, this One is so good for everyday, office or a day out scent and I still love it!

emilydavi

I have a tester of this and just tried it for the first time. It's pleasant, soft, fruit, powdery and sweet. Strangely though, I get an overwhelming lipstick/ makeup smell which puts me off, maybe it's the type of musk mixed with the florals, I'm not sure.

lamerienda

I do not wear it anymore since I started hating plums in fragrances, but I must admit that The One used to be a fragrance that was constantly bringing me compliments every single day. I cannot even count how many people asked me for its name.

Juliana Ch

Let me tell you.. I have quite a few perfumes on my shelf, but THIS is the one every single one of my friends grab when we go out! It’s just easy to love. And it does smell very expensive. Not for summer and probably not for everyday wear. More like a date night or going out. To me this is the ultimate vanilla amber perfume. Very sexy but in a classy way.

TexasOrangeBlossom

I was never impressed by quick testings at perfume counters, but I know how some fragrances need the warmth of skin to shine. So when I saw a half full vintage bottle for $5 at the thrift store, I grabbed it. Now I really like it! This is the perfect time of year (early fall) for it. It’s great in transitional weather. I smell a similarity to Burberry Woman (classic), which I unfortunately can’t wear bc it gives me a rash (oak moss?). I’m happy to have this in my collection. It’s a classic, easy going, pretty wife/mother type of fragrance.

Upward_Falling

Soft, creamy, alluring fragrance. I would consider this a predominate amber-vanilla scent with soft white florals that dance in the background. I do not detect the peach beyond the first couple minutes of application, and very small traces of the plum. Occasionally the citrus will come put to play and it lends just the right amount of kick. The dry down is warm and scrumptious and makes me feel edible. While being a sexy scent, it's still manages to be very sophisticated and is one of my absolute favorites for the office. Perfect for fall and winter seasons.

I do find that I have to overspray in order to get some longevity and projection - which is still minimal. I like to apply closer to the face/neck and on clothes to help with this. This beauty sits closer to the skin on me. While I appreciate that the softness of this is what makes it so lovely, I do wish it was a bit more potent. I enjoy walking through my own sillage and tend to wear this for a couple consecutive days each time because I can't get enough of it in just a days time. (That says a lot, as I am moody and prefer a new scent every single day). This one would also work beautifully as a vanilla layering option.

A successful blind buy for me that I would definitely repurchase!

maddieonline

This is a beautiful, heady, creamy white floral. I don't notice very prominent fruity notes on myself, but I feel that they help this perfume achieve an almost-edible white floral as opposed to a synthethic-y white floral.

This lasts all day on me and projects within probably 4-6 feet, I think it's a very grown-up, feminine fragrance without seeming too 'old lady.' I love this, but it's also not something I reach for every day. I think because of the prominent warm, heady notes this is much better for the cooler seasons than for the summer heat.

WhiteFlowerPrincess

I think that The One for Women by Dolce & Gabbana is quite luxurious and sumptuous smelling scent and that it smells a lot more expensive than it actually is. Like the color of the liquid and the cap would have you believe, it smells golden, warm and ladylike.

To me this is a fruity and ambery white floral with a strongly vanillic base made for a feminine woman. She'd wear it during either day or night and during either the fall or the winter. She'd be rich and wear fine cashmere and vicuña wool by Loro Piana and be old money. The plum combined with the vanilla, jasmine, lily and vanilla is what is giving me this feeling the most and it has an elevated, sensual and slightly spicy white floral touch that I just love and is my favorite stage of this perfume.

I love the peach and the bergamot notes at the beginning too and I think they are needed in this fragrance, but the very sweet and watery litchi in this fragrance kind of ruins things slightly for me and makes things slightly top fruity for my tastes. I would have preffered no litchi in this. I also feel like the mandarin orange could have been dialed down a bit more to get a bigger dose of that honeyed character and less of that citric quality.

I loved the warmth of the drydown too with the powderiness of the musk, the sweetness and warmth of the vanilla and the resinous and deep character from the amber. I also think that this had the right amount of vetiver and it was well-balanced, but I wish that the vanilla in the base wasn't so overpowering and that a lighter dose of vanilla was added to the base. I also wish that there was a good deal less of amber in this too. The lily of the valley in the heart notes did help to soften things somewhat though thankfully.

This Dolce & Gabbana perfume had a sillage that was arm's length and a fairly impressive wear time of 7 and a half hours on my skin, so I do think that this combined with the price and the ml you're getting for the price per bottle is an absolute bargain. The One by Dolce & Gabbana still only narrowly missed being a love and full-bottle worthy for me though and that is why I'd give this fragrance a 7 ½ out of 10.

Flexwithviv

An alright blind buy. I feel like it could smell better for all the hype. To me it’s a mashup of notes, but nothing screams at you particularly. Like someone said below the scent feels like it’s slightly dated. It’s alright, there’s definitely better vanillary fragrances out there, that project and lasts. There’s something nice about it but as it doesn’t last nor is the silage great, I just feel like I could have gotten something else.
Is it a must have? Definitely NOT!

Ms._45

I’ve just received mine. Blind buy … I had to spray a few times for whatever reason to smell pretty much anything on my arm. Maybe the new formula is weak. It’s sad like people are saying, we are losing perfumes to reformulations. So I have to put my nose right up to my arm currently. It’s yummy though & would not be offensive to anyone in an office etc. I got the citrus at opening. Smells delicious up close like a baked good, almost like a little bit of spice, I guess the amber & vetiver warm it up. But it’s easily worn all year, any time of day I feel. I like those kinds of perfumes & don’t have many like that. I wonder if this will come alive more in the cold weather. Seems like it’s an easy go-to for anything fall & winter. I like powdery notes. I like to smell like high end, makeup counter vibes … Narciso Ambree is much more powdery & mature on me than this. It doesn’t wow me so far because seems like low sillage & nothing punchy stands out. But blended so well that it’s easily worn with anything anytime & would be chic. I was looking for something a lot more fruity & sexy for a date night. But I’m glad to have this overall. I’ll have to keep testing it.

Gabriel Greek

My wife recently bought it. A little bit of fruits, heavy flowers and a lot of powdery. To my nose outdated. Extremely poor longevity (3-4 hours) and poor projection - sillage. From curiosity I applied the fragrance on my skin. The same. Nothing to talk about.

huntchristie

Great base notes. I really like it.

kittenpawz

On my skin The One is mostly gourmand vanilla, very very creamy with a hint of peach and surprisingly chocolate that's present during all stages. I don't know what causes it to smell like that, and I don't like the smell of chocolate in general but here I find it very subtle and complimentary. My mom smelled chocolate as well, so I reckon it must be my skin chemistry.

It's very well blended, I can pick up some notes from the pyramid but they all exist in beautiful synergy. I was hoping for more peach and plum, the latter I can't smell at all. I don't find it very floral either although I do sense a touch of jasmine. Vetiver is not smoky or dirty and adds a lovely woody touch. It leaves a beautiful trail but as I move my wrist closer to my nose I pick up a slightly synthetic/medicinal smell which is one of the very few things I don't enjoy about it, other ones are that it's a bit too creamy for my liking, and performance is very mediocre. I suspect it could be due to unfortunate reformulation.
Vetiver gets more prominent as time passes (I don't know how dried hay smells but I think it should be similar), still accompanied by somewhat toned down powdery-cupcakey gourmand vanilla, and they make up gorgeous harmony of notes.
Overall I'm definitely satisfied with the purchase. This fragrance is warm, sunny and truly golden. It SMELLS Italian! I imagine this is something Apollonia from The Godfather would smell like.

“I wish there could be an invention that bottled up the memory, like perfume, and it never faded, and it never got stale. Then whenever I wanted to, I could uncork the bottle and live the memory all over again.”
This is what it smells like - like living the memory of a gorgeous woman from the past and spending your vacation on an Italian villa as her. Vintage inspired, luxurious, glamorous in a grown-up way. I could wear it any day of the year, in warmer seasons to make beautiful memories of my own, and in colder ones to relive and cherish them.

HannahRosesAreRed

Sweet peach tea meets Herbal Essences.

This is a fantastic, well-blended fragrance. Despite being formulated in the mid-2000s, to me, it reads as much more vintage, evoking old-school glamour. This is what I thought the 80s should have smelled like–fresh without being watery, soapy without being too artificial, free of the civet funk or acrid, chemical screechiness. I especially love the laundry-fresh musky drydown and respectable six-hour longevity. It's fruity, floral, clean, light and sort of sensuous–and mature. This is a woman's fragrance. A fine, grown-up woman, someone who's approachable yet just put-together enough to be trustworthy. She pays her bills on time, she owns a nice watch and likes to match her lipstick to her nail polish; but she likes to curl up on the couch in sweatpants and watch her favorite movie at night after work.

This is a super cozy fall and winter fragrance. It clings to fabric even better than skin–it's begging to be sprayed on your favorite sweater. It would be heavenly to breathe this in as you shield your nose from the cold under the collar of your crewneck pullover. It reminds me especially of the surprisingly cold evenings of Georgia winters.

Happyjulie

It used to be my signature scent long ago, for many years I associated fall-winter only with this cosy, warm, feminine and elegant perfume. This was love from the first sniff! I still think “the one” is a gorgeous fragrance with its delicate sweetness, floral notes and a little bit of amber.

spaceybailey

Cuban cigars & sophisticated peach belinis. Somewhere in a Miami Beach watching a sunset glistening over the water. Those two notes are very prominent at the beginning. So intoxicating, you want more. It turns into a "put out" smoky cigar while drinking sweet peach flavored bourbon, with notes of vanilla, plum, heavy musk, ripe BANANA (weird I know, but amazing) TRUST ME and velvety orange blossom. Once it settles it's much more creamy, it's a warm cup of vanilla chai tea with milk and marshmallows toasted over a bonfire. During the day it smells very Miami RICH GIRL, meaning that it layers well with tanning lotion and lots of cash. I prefer to wear it at night, it's ethereal. Aston Martin Music VIBES!

I’m so in love with it. It's definitely a staple in my collection. This is the kind of fragrance that makes you feel sexy, luxurious and very desirable. I can't exactly put into words how I feel about it. This bottle stays almost full out of all of them, not because I don't like it, but because it's one of those "only for special occasions" perfumes. BISOUS

morphoevgenia

First of all, I tried it on my skin in the store and maybe time and place do not do it justice, I find this fragrance extremely boring and generic. If it wasn’t generic at the time of realize, now it is. I get very inoffensive apricot and non-descriptive florals, but very watered down. I also don’t find it particularly mature, this association probably comes from ad imagery.

Totally ok and nothing to write home about. It is pleasant and forgettable. It is from 2006, maybe the brand have to let it rest in peace.

OloraGolosina

This is the love of my life in a perfume bottle, the lily and vanilla are so strong in this fragrance, the ingredients are smoothly blended, you can feel the creaminess coming through, it is a soft oriental Autumn/Winter cozy fragrance, it smells expensive, elegant, classy, feminine and sexy. Scarlett Johansson was the perfect pick for its campaign, she is the personification of The One enchanting characteristics. I really hope they never discontinue it, I am urged to stock it up just in case. Longevity = 5-6hours, projection = it fills the room up. All I need is two sprays if I am indoors or 8 sprays (the french way) if I am out and about. I think this is one of the two fragrances for which I have gotten compliments. I love this exquisite perfume.

flem

Opening is a sweet floral. Reminds me of a fresh, wild rose. Quite sweet and definite feminine vibes. Leans young, but I could imagine any age wearing it. It’s quite nice, as long as you are looking for a sweet floral scent.

la.femme.scent

Smells like spiced black tea leaves blended with dried peach skins seeped in hot water and sweetened with vanilla flavored syrup. The litchi, plum and vetiver feel out place and a little harsh and screechy in the composition. The lily of the valley is so thinned out, that the whole thing smells watered down. Almost there but not quite it but still good. The vanilla is the best part of the whole thing. That and the bottle with the heavy weighted gold top (so luxurious) and the perfect fit in my hand when spraying it.

Edit (7.29.2023): went through a 50 mL of this; I found it easy to wear but wouldn't repurchase. also it was a blind-buy for me, but it is not safe to buy without testing.

Linvalcasmo

This was a dud. This to me is the epitome of a generic mature perfume. For some reason I pick up a honey note.
Typical department store perfume. Nothing special. I wish I picked up the fruity sweet vibes people are getting.

Gemsense

Lily and plum together make such a tropical blend it's so yummy 🤤, this is the grown up version of Britney's Festive Fantasy.

Lmhester

A very soft, warm and inoffensive scent. Very feminine.
Harley522 hit the nail on the head. Sicily is my all time favorite perfume and although this is not the same scent, the DNA is overtly there. Maybe that’s why I love it.

Candylover666

The amber and lily notes are really off putting to me.
I don’t understand why this perfume is so popular.
It smells like amber, baby powder and rotten fruit.

isadrmm

I ordered this blind off Amazon based on the reviews. It’s a very mid like for me—too sweet and powdery for me personally. If anyone is interested, the bottle is practically brand new (just a few test sprays) and in the original box. PM for trade or sell.

XOXO_marcel

It smells like the peach iced tea that's so popular here in Alabama. Pleasant, pretty, not very interesting but definitely nostalgic. A like, but not a love.

Radi3

It's a really powdery fragrance. To me it smells like baby wipes(in the good way).

jazzscent13

This smells like peach pound cake to me. The notes I pick up the most are Lilly, peach and vanilla. It’s a very feminine scent, that sits somewhat close to the skin… the longevity is there, but not the projection. It’s still a really nice gourmand scent that’s gentle enough that it could be worn all year round imo. 🍑❤️

Galkagalinka

I was not sure about this one at first. It’s an unusual scent, haven’t tried anything like it. Peach and vanilla. I wanted to return it at first, but I kept getting whiffs of it at work and fell in love. It’s long lasting and beautiful. Can’t wait to try it in cold weather.

yummysw

An elegant peach-vanilla fragrance with a hint of powder. Sweet and rich, this signature fragrance makes you feel fabulous. Pair with any lotion with white musk to enhance longevity. Perfect for all seasons except summer. It smells like Christmas.

pippingreen

This smells like the swimming pool changing rooms in 2006

drugstore classics

A very pretty scent, easy to like and not easy to offend. I am a fan of the classic D&G scents, and Harley522 has well said that The One is an excellent bridge between modern D&G and their classic treasures. It DOES have a certain creaminess or richness distinctive to the brand. It is one of the few scents containing litchi that I can wear! The combination of florals truly reminds me a bit of bubblegum-style tuberose, but done more elegantly. I wonder if it's the Madonna lily? Whatever the case, a quite modern classic that I admire. :)

Harley522

This perfume is bridge between old Dolce & Gabbana perfumes (true brand trademark smell) and newer ones (it could be from any brands).
This perfume has that creamy, buttery scent of older D&G perfumes ( Red Cap, Sicily, By, Feminine) but combined with fruitiness of peach, litchi and plum. It smells like vanilla pudding.
I like that it has Madonna lily in the heart. The flower originated in East Mediterranean and is frequently used in ancient and Christian art. Very fitting for Dolce & Gabbana.

Scented12U

I use to have this years ago before I started really getting into perfumes, so I thought I’d revisit this. I don’t really know how I feel, but I’m leaning more towards no. It’s too powdery and has a clean soapy scent that I don’t like, maybe from the musk? I usually don’t mind powdery or soapy if done right, but I don’t like it in here.

ChelleSmellWell

This is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE scents. It is very pretty and somewhat like Baby Bear in Goldilocks and the Three Bears.....juuuuuuuuust right! It is not overwhelming, but you will definitely get compliments. Not too girlish and not too mature...perfect for gift giving, I don't think anyone would dislike it.

tracyfsu

If you cannot find a bottle of Boucheron Jaipur at a reasonable price, try to find the original formula of this. Very similar, but I’m more fond of The One (first version).

Lazarelle

This was gifted to me at one time and I have happy memories of wearing this in my early 20s, when it became a signature scent for a while. Fruit-infused golden sunshine with a sophisticated vibe, when gourmands of this kind were still relatively novel. I think it's a bit dated now, and also, I perceive it as a "young" perfume.

Fili_Sol

When this first launched, the smell was more rich and far more enticing! It was Heaven “scent” and it was love at first smell to me. The gorgeous, upmarket scent of power and confidence - a total Capricorn boss scent. The warm vanilla, mandarin orange, plum and amber drying down to powdery vanilla, woody musk… I love it and it is still my signature scent since it first launched… But now, no matter where I buy it from, it seems to just have more alcohol in it. Nothing like what it used to be, which really is a shame.

greenmelon20

This reminds me of Gucci Guilty, the older one (2010), because, to my nose, they both smell like baby powder. I don't really smell the peach note in both of them, and I smell the base notes which are white musk and amber. Both of these perfumes have these base notes with fruity and floral top notes, resulting in a powdery scent instead of a fruity gourmand and sultry scent. Thus, I didn't really like this perfume but blindly bought this because I heard positive feedback about it, such as how it is such a good gourmand for colder seasons. Needless to say, everyone perceives and smells perfumes differently, and this, personally, was not for me.

anntdangg

Personally I dont like powdery perfume and The One is sooo powdery. Unlike Narciso Poudree which is powdery but soft and dreamy, The One gives me the headache powderiness.
Forced myself to finish quickly because I didnt want to see it in my perfume vanity.

Jordan 99

I love this scent, peach and vanilla are very strong in here, but it smells sort of unique because of it. Very creamy soft, cozy, elegant, I’m not big fan of vanilla in perfumes, but this is how vanilla should be done. Longevity and projection are excellent. Worth to buy.

Sofifeee

Erm, what?? This smells nothing like Intense Cafe and there is definitely no rose??

joikgirl

For me and I think for a lot of early 00’s kids, this is the perfume that your mother wore. Now I wear it.

I have been using the big 75ml for few years now and its starting to finish. It gives me so much nostalgia and warmth. Its peachy, very plummy with lily, vanilla and musk. Will always repurchase this, love-love-love.

NatalieCee

Wanted to love this, but it didnt love me. Major headaches. Also faded very quickly. Love the scent: vanilla, amber, woody, very classy. Did not repurchase and had to stop wearing because of the headaches.

Andy224

Interesting scent comes out of this fruity floral/woodsy note combination that I’ve never smelled before. Because of it’s big lasting power I’d suggest testing it first

shenamedel

I haven't tried D&G The One For Women, but it sounds incredibly close to Chanel Allure EDP & EDT For Women, both from the notes & the comments that I have read. For any of you that have tried out both, please let us know. Chanel Allure EDP For Women also has performance issues & I pair it with Jessica Simpson Fancy Love & it is a more enjoyable experience. Just my two cents.

supersaiyan

Smells like a wonderful, powdery peach vanilla custard. There's something about this scent that reminds me of my childhood, it smells so familiar but I can't put my finger on who wore it or where I had smelled it so often. I can't comment on the strength or reformulations - suffice it to say that I don't like everlasting perfumes and this one definitely does not last an eternity. The performance is on the low end but not abysmal. I'd definitely love to try the older, more powerful versions though.

pariamehr

For me it's too peachy and too sweet but signature material. I don't recommend wearing it on a long drive.

lanaelanore

I remember this being one of the first perfumes I ever owned (around 2014-2015) and I LOVED it. I always repurchased it, I remember it being a sweet (but not too sweet), powdery, classy, warm and soft scent. It was not overpowering or headache causing - but it was definitely noticeable in the best way. I smelled it again a couple days ago and I am so disappointed, because it smells nothing like that anymore. I don’t know what happened, but you put a few sprays on and it’ll last you like 15 minutes, which is very sad. It also does not smell anything like the old formula anymore… it’s extremely fruity, can’t notice any dry down because I literally can’t smell it anymore after 15 minutes on the skin

LivingForPerfumeFrenchie

This used to be an absolute beast back in 2006. The first release was an absolute work of art. It was strong, overpowering in the good sense: it used to be a sensual femme fatale bomb. The original perfume USED to represent a woman who knew her worth and then added some. A women who indulged the luxuries of life.

The current 2022 version makes me sad :( And I feel robbed. Not only of money but of joy and pleasure and luxury.

The current version is but a shadow of what this perfume used to be. I can for the life of me, not understand why Dolce & Gabbana have destroyed what used to be such a masterpiece. The current version stays no longer than an hour. And in the first 30 minutes it is already disappearing. I am very familiar with the original and I found a little tester of the originals while clearing out some thing. Smelling those few sprays of the original made me buy the current Eau De Parfum. And I honestly wish I hadn't because the sadness is just too much.

The original was a beautiful bomb that lasted for days, even after showering! You depending on the dosage your entire house could smell of The One (original) just by wearing it.

The new version smells like day 3 after you've showered 2 times. I will repeat for the people in the back: when you spray it on it smells like 10% of what it used to be. It smells worn for 48 hours minimum, right at first spray.

It is severely overpriced for what it has become. I have stronger body mists from Victoria's Secret that cost me 7 euros in the sale.

I feel like The One has died. I'm actually grieving for the original. If anyone has an original bottle from 2006/2007 that they would like to sell, I'm all ears.

I will use the bottle up, but it will make me sad each time I spray, because it smells of barely anything. It smells of lost glory. An abandoned kingdom. Just a vage wind with hints of mist passing by before they die down and never return.

I honestly wish they would re-release the original, the same way Cacharel had the balls to re-release their original Anais Anais.

This reformulation is even sadder that the reformulation of Pour Femme ( the masterpiece with red cap who got converted into generic toilet spray ).

Sorry to leave this sad review. I wanted to believe the magic was still there, I ignored the bad reviews, but now I know.

If you have never smelled the original and you enjoy the current version, I envy you ^ ^ I almost wish I hadn't known the greatness it used to be.

Gyps

Just ok, it’s a bit non-descript really. A nice scent that dries down creamy and soft. Not a strong scent at all and I much prefer The Only One to this. I got it cheap so can’t complain. Good for wearing to work.

Alina Mir

Nice, pleasant, inoffensive , sweet. At the sane time something unique and somehow I can smell that it’s not the newest launch. It’s not retro, but it is 2006.

BlackDawn616

That powdery, vanilla, fruity smell is so classy, soft and non intrusive scent, that I want to smell over and over again. One of my favorite all time fragrances.

Anfissa

Recently have been in the mood for white florals, perhaps to counterbalance the winter wonderland outside. A good white floral is like a dream escape to that perfect spring afternoon smelling the sky, earth and trees in bloom. The one is definitely a step in the right direction blooming with peach accords, slight citrus, white lilies and jasmin. The sleek golden bottle has modern straight lines and reflects the mood of this luxurious elegance. In character it juxtaposes romantic air with a very classy kind of seriousness perhaps emanating from that slight bitterness found in peach. It has a sweetness too and femininity with a brilliant glamorous edge. It’s perfect as a signature scent or for work. Also a great choice to wear in the evenings. It’s a very classy old school but very modern white floral.

eneqvist

Not sure how I feel about this. The opening is to die for, then an almost nauseating smell appears (but not every time, which is strange). After that passes, it settles into a pleasant, fruity vanilla that reminds me of peach pie. If not for that weird smell shortly after application and the weak longevity, I would absolutely love it. For now I will say like, but that may change as I keep using it.
Update: Longevity is better than I first thought, at least 5-6 hours on my fairly dry skin. The nauseating smell however, persists. I suspect it is the peach and probably due to my skin chemistry (some perfumes just smell bad on me). Sad, because I really like this one.

KatelynMLovesPerfume

I do not get fruity vibes from The One like the scent chart is describing. To me, it's one of the truest sweet florals there is. It's genuinely a mixture of a vanilla (not candy, more creamy like) sweetness with the white florals being mixed into it. Also a bit powdery. Maybe I smell the litchi just a bit but that's it. It's personality is classy and sophisticated mostly. Elegant. Not juvenile at all. Also it lasts soooo long, and don't overspray lol this perfume has power! I love this perfume.

Rainstorm

I had this over 10 years ago ago as my friend couldn’t stand it so gave it to me. I loved the luxurious bottle and I really enjoyed the powdery luxe feel. It felt heavy and perfumey. It was my choice for evening and going out. My memories of it are one of being a more mature scent and there is something expensive feeling about it. Has a vintage 50s siren lipstick vanity feel to it. I enjoyed it and it grew on me. Will have to revisit this one.

Cadera97

To me, The One is about having fun. It's fruity but not to the point of making me sick. I don't live vanilla but this note also doesn't scream on my skin. I think it's refined and clean smelling to some point.

ellovesperfume

it smells very similar to kate spade new york on paper to me. I smell mostly strawberry even though it’s not listed. very sweet and fruity.

srabuodeh

This is such a strange scent. It was honestly nauseating.
I get a smell of burned amber? Or maybe one of the fruits mixed with burned amber? I couldn't wear it.
I'm not sure what it is, but it was very sickly and didn't work with my body chemistry.

snikkia29

It's a nice scent but I find myself find it a bit too sickly after an hour because of the vanilla. Someone smelled it on me and said it reminded them of a car air freshener - now I can't not smell it.

arvvvn

Elegant, classy, gold. It almost smells like what the bottle would smell like. I’d say this lays more on the warm side. It’s a very pleasant scent, i have come upon mentions of it smelling like sunscreen and I don’t get that a lot. I recommend not blind buying this, it’s not for everybody

Peaches&Cream

I wish this was a lot sweeter and floral. I do not get that with The One… this kind of reminds me of guilty premiere but a lot more lighter. There is a screechy note that is similar to Gucci premiere. I am glad I got a 30 ml bottle since I won’t be gravitating to this or repurchasing. I think older woman would be interested in this perfume than younger ladies.

jabels189

Sadly seconding the person who reviewed this by saying it smells like hot vanilla peach barf. Super disappointed, blind bought and had to return. The first spray is literally so heavy and unbearable, and it’s such a shame because the dry down is this gorgeous soft peach vanilla. Do NOT blind buy based off the notes, you’ll need to test this with your skin chemistry.

Shrub

Long ago, they stopped making BCBG Sexy and Metro, and there was a void in my heart and my scent-life. This reminds me of BCBG Sexy.

I bought the travel size. I love the opening for it. It's not perfect. Something missing. But the first hour, I couldn't stop inelegantly snorting The One on my wrist.

THE BEGINNING, I JUST ADORE.
The vanilla at the end overpowers everything.

My gosh I'm so disappointed. I really liked the opening of this perfume.

Rama Rama

Anyone find similarity to Le Parfum Elie Saab?

bel.gravia

This will be my Christmas 2022 perfume. It's bright and luminous. It's sweet and luxurious. Peachy and powdery. Such a wonderful wonderful scent. The only people who wouldn't like this are the people who hate vanilla. Anyone else shall be enticed by this beauty. A golden beauty indeed, shines so beautifully with that lily note, glowy sweet peach and a mature high quality vanilla. Love it.

KateWest

On me, this fragrance gives one the sense that I binge ate a whole peach cobbler a few hours ago and have just puked. 100% hot vanilla peach barf.

violeteme

This brings back the memories! One of the scents that defined the decade, I think. Luxurious, femme, sexy, seductive, bold, but contained enough to stay elegant too. The color presents the bottle well, this smells golden. Peachy, musky vanilla-amber composition. Perfume for a supermodel. Perfect all year round. +

Anabee

‘D&G The One’ is a fragrance Marilyn Monroe or Brigitte Bardot would’ve worn, during their glorious days. It’s pure, soft, classic, luxurious femininity. Fun fact: Apparently, these two ladies hooked up once, when they were at an event together and met at the rest room! (Source: Brigitte Bardot’s own words) Back to the fragrance.. This is signature scent worthy, definitely perfect for work, but also a great summer fragrance, or autumn or winter. To me it smells like luxurious & delicious body cream.

It’s also a sexy evening scent, depending on the vibe you want to send out. It smells warm, ultra feminine (not sweet), clean and delicious. I just sprayed it on my wrist and it feels like my body temperature is rising. This scent is: warm, soft, peachy, ultra feminine skin. It gives sexy skin on skin vibes.

It’s not a “vampy seductress” type of scent. I actually prefer something soft like ‘The One’, over something that smells “dirty”.
I prefer to channel sexy, dirty vibes with my look, my body and my outfit, NOT with my fragrance. To me a sexy fragrance, most of all, always has to smell clean and luxurious. And this is exactly what I get from ‘D&G The One’.

This scent is super versatile in that way, and I completely get why they chose Scarlett Johansson for this. She is the modern personification of this scent. She’s a professional in her job, she’s top notch. And she’s youthful (no matter her age) and highly feminine and sexy. She’s old-Hollywood sexy.

If I have to criticize something it would be the inclusion of Lily. I hate the smell of Lilies, I think they stink, but thankfully that note isn’t dominant in here. This is truly a 10/10 fragrance to me, the more I wear it.
Always a compliment getter. It makes the right person addicted to you.

Sweet Satine

This perfume was a blind buy for me, I love gourmands, floral, I do not believe that in discriminating old, young, in or outside, young or old.
The day I opened The One, I sprayed all my pulse points, right away my husband who rarely says more than, "Smells nice baby." right away he said that Dolce and Gabanna smelled beautiful. I initially thought wo it is screaming floral, after 5 minutes I felt like I was bathing in Amber and sweet honey. I fell in love, sweet but not too sweet, floral but not screechy floral. Then after 12 hours, I still smell the scent on my clothes. The one projects well and has decent staying power. My skin eats perfume, so I was surprised. I really love Dolce The One, I will be adding to my signature perfumes.

Nicole0223

Smells like sunscreen on me !

Foxy_amazon

This reminds me of the perfume my mom used to wear in the early 90s called Samba. It came in an odd shaped purple bottle with a magenta cap and we would buy it at pic n save lol I swear this smells exactly the same and I'm tempted to dig thru my storage to find the mostly empty bottle I still have of it out to compare the two

Catacal

Accidentally got some on my thumb when I was spraying for a customer to try. Opening is very strong and mildly sweet but not teenager sweet. Not sure about overall longevity but I could still smell it on my thumb even after I washed my hands say about 4ish hrs later.

Goofy79

An expensive perfume with zero longevity. I've noticed how this is very common amongst Italian designer fragrances including Gucci, Dolce Gabbana.!
The one smells like something is missing in it, like if you took a very sweet and strong perfume from the 90's and then removed some fruit, flowers and sweetness. It's not strong enough, it should be more intense for the price of it.

kittywhiskers

This perfume is pure elegance in a bottle. Smells to me like a peachy-vanilla champagne, with just a hint of powder. Very sweet and rich, yet even when I overspray it's just so heavenly that I don't mind so much. I consider this to be one of my signature scents, it's so unique and yummy and makes me feel gorgeous whenever I wear it. 100% agree with the user below me that said this smells like Huile Prodigieuse! You can pair the two together to make this already long-lasting perfume go the extra mile, they smell almost identical. This could be worn every season, but maybe a bit less so in the summer. I wore the crap out of it during the holidays a few years back and so now it smells like Christmas to me lol not a bad thing.

leannaeliset

I am not sure how anyone dislikes this. Such a strikingly beautiful fragrance. To me, it's almost entirely lily. More specifically, this smells like white spiderlily, the kind that blooms in hot climates. I was on Cayman Islands one summer and leaned down to smell a spider lily for the first time, and immediately shot back up telling everyone around me "this smells exactly like Dolce and Gabanna The One". My old roommate used to wear it and it left an impression on me. Smells like the cleanest, yummiest shampoo in the world, something akin to Outrageous by Revlon. If you can get your hands on a bottle of the French body oil, Huile Prodigiueuse by Nuxe, it also smells identical to The One. I douse myself in that one too. I don't detect a ton of peach, but there is definitely a sweetness there and I seem to react positively to a white floral/peach combination, when I look at the note breakdowns of my favorite perfumes. A lot of complaints on here about lack of longevity, but I've noticed the exact opposite. Lasts all day and transforms beautifully into the night. Gorgeous skin scent on the dry down, turns into almost the smell of a lipstick? This is then made even nicer by a shower, or a moonlight swim. Seriously. Even poolwater will make magic with this.

Ash212

Oh I really loved 'the only one intense' when I tried it in-store but got confused and got a sample of 'the one' online. It's really sweet - reminds me of Burberry black because of the peach but this is more fruity and not so dark.

AquaJima

This is a bomb of sweetness. I get strong white florals and something honey like (could be the peach). This is not discreet. It also has some creamy powder like note.
It’s BOMBASTIC. A perfume for a proper Diva. You wear this when you want to be noticed. Ideal for Christmas, clubbing, your birthday, ice skating, rollerblading and parties. Also nice on a very cold rainy day.

Avoid: hot weather, work, office, school, 10 hours airplane trips, formal events, doctor’s visit and the cinema.

Maybe good if it’s your last day at the office and you plan to party afterwards and you don’t care to piss off your boss and coworkers, and your smell will linger in the office for a month making those suckers miss you haha

Is very luminous and attention grabbing. It is a Disco Diva, a glamorous Hollywood star. Screams celebration.

Lakreutter

I was pumped to get this at a discount because I was SURE I’d love it based on the notes. But this is so much more perfume-y than say Pour Femme. It has distinct white florals especially strong on the lilies and jasmine and I don’t get any of the fruit top notes or the vanilla, which are the notes I really liked. If I were blind guessing this without knowing the notes I would guess this was a plain old white floral. It’s pretty, but it’s not what it says it is and it’s too heavy and mature for me, I won’t wear it

sweetlikecandie

When I first received this I was kind of not into it! It was fruity but not in a sweet way, in a sophisticated almost mature way. However I have definitely warmed up to it! It kind of smells like sherbet wizz fizz and champagne. To me it’s elegant, classy and sexy while being fun. I can see any age wearing this to be honest!

GUADELUPA

Incredibly beautiful scent! For me, first of all, it's peach, lychee and plum. I can smell even champagne notes, though it is not listed here. All together smells magically. Longevity and sillage is twenty four hours. It suits both for dating, evenings, special events and even for office. Winter or summer - equally beautiful. This is my all time favorite fragrance! If you want sunny peaches and tropical lychee in one bottle, buy it without hesitations!

noneya88

I gotta cut out the blind buying. This smells like a sweet baby powder on my skin. Such a bummer :(

Catlady21

As someone just said previously, this one was reformulated. It has a slightly similarity with my 2020 bottle in terms of smell, but it goes away in one hour. It used to be so long lasting and beautiful. My favorite perfume… I really hope I’ll find another peach, vanilla, white florals perfume like the old version of this one… for the price, it is not worth buying this weak fragrance:(

DariaFrancesca74

A fresh, fruity, very pleasant fragrance by Christine Nagel. Peach undisputed queen, triumphs over a bland corolled by citrus accords and a candid bouquet of white flowers all enclosed by sweet and amber base notes and the reassuring notes of musk. Very feminine fragrance.

Roos88dutch

It’s reformulated it’s so different than my other bottle for 2020 it was really my summer vanilla fragrance, its now so much weaker and not that fresh and strong anymore . I wonder if the old formulation has patchouli in it . Because it was way more powerful and more mature . It is now a soft powdery vanilla . No peach I can’t smell it anymore. It’s a hole other feeling not bad but really different.

tulpe

I hated it when it first came out. Now this is my to-go-scent, sweet, easy go wear, such classic scent. Not very long lasting, seems a soft skin scent which i adore now. Wonderfull how tastes changes over time😊

OSM

I get no fruit or vanilla. It smells like a strictly floral type fragrance to me, even straight out of the gate. There's a slight powdery-ness to it and it kind of reminds me of a hand cream type of smell. It's quite upleasant but it doesn't set my world on fire or anything.

Linnsim

This has been my signature scent since 2006. I love this scent. It is classy, glamorous and luxurious. I love wearing it in fall and at night. It’s so different from other fragrancies. Will never stop using it.

emilymonroe1

A blind buy! I ordered this online without testing it so this was my blind buy but I was quite sure of what I was going to get based on what I read in the description. When I tried it for the first time, I was so overjoyed as this was way more beautiful than I expected it to be. This is a beautiful powdery vanilla fragrance that smells luxurious. The cashmere textures to it add to its luxurious vibes too. yes, this is a gourmand, a super delicious vanilla gourmand with fresh, clean, and sparkly vibes. This is romantic, unique, floral and highly captivating and addictive. This is kind of fragrance; you can never go wrong with. Absolute perfection! LOVE it!

Dashalu

Smells really good and really my kind of combo for an everyday! But doesn’t last… sigh!

Yessamin

A classic blossomy fragrance with refreshing hints of lemon and mandarin. A must-have scent for the fragrance lovers out there.
EdP

Sexbox1814

Sexy and classy it smells like honey to me so it does last but it’s nothing amazing

smelly_cat_94

I love this one so much! It can easily become my signature daily scent. Because I do want something more beastly for nighttime such as Good Girl by Carolina Herrera or Dior Poison Girl. But for the daytime this scent is perfect! Such a nice easy blend of peaches, florals and vanilla, I really enjoy this combination of notes. 🙂
The commercial with Scarlett Johansson is one of my all time favorite commercials, she just radiates beauty, intelligence and class. Love her! She was stunning in that commercial and also the one she made with Matthew McConaughey was cool. I also remember the commercial with Gisele Bundchen, it was entertaining and they stayed in my memory since I first saw them when I was still a little girl. Which brings me to another observation - this perfume is made for women. Not girls, not teens… women! 😌 to me it just gives off this adult woman energy, no bullshit attitude, no drama, no silliness, just peaceful maturity, woman sensuality that comes from experience and the kind of warmth only a woman can give. Christine did a wonderful job with this one… with The One.
Lovely perfume, one of my favorite! ❤️

Mysterieee

Someone else mentioned it already, but this scent is somewhat generic. It is by no means a bad scent, it smells good, but it’s just… bland? In a way.

Looking at the top notes, it seems like they were somewhat lost at what sort of audience they were targeting. Its flowery, but not flowery enough for a tough boss lady in her mid 40’s, it’s fruity, but not enough to target the La Vie Est Belle early 30’s ladies. Its powdery, but not enough for a soft, mid 20’s gal, nor is it sweet/gourmand enough to serve the Bath and Beyond teenager girls.

Its not a wow for me.

MiniMena

Beautiful! Peachy, powdery, feminine, vanilla. Love it!

victoriabarretta

I love this fragrance so much but I can’t get it to perform!!

I tried the Essence version and it’s slightly louder but less fruity.

I tried the EDT but the creamy and powdery-ness is missing.

I find this to be the perfect spring/summer everyday perfume and it would be perfect if it projected a bit more and lasted longer.

annaojanen

If morning sickness were a smell, this would be it. There is not one thing about this perfume that I like. It is cloyingly sweet and at the same time stale and expired smelling. I picture the wearer to be an unstylish schoolmarm from the '80s riding a school bus on a hot, dry day.

redbionicle

Floriental! The One is a soft sweet scent of flowers drying down in an oriëntale vibe. I love the One, it is assembled well, the layers create depth and the scent stays quite long. Being a young women wearing The One made me feel feminine and self confident. I remember getting compliments all the time and I also gifted it to my sister in law bc she loved the smell on me so much. Many years later she had sprayed the One, she told it was her favorite scent and no, she could not remember that I gifted her a bottle. Really?

Controlledbyscent31

I see many people below wanting a strong Peach, if that's what u want this ain't it....

I primarily associate The One with its seductive ad campaign starring Scarlett Johansson in full Marilyn mode from the mid-noughties, but it was years later when I actually smelled it. With the reliable Christine Nagel at the helm, I expected to be impressed. It is a generic sweet floriental, typical of its time, but nicely put together. It doesn't appeal to my personal taste, but it's not bad.

The One (great name) has a big, sweet peachy opening. The lychee gives its typical sweet, aquatic quality to the background, while a hint of sweet mandarin adds a little freshness. Plum rounds out the peach, and along with the white florals, it is fleetingly reminiscent of LouLou. The lily and jasmine notes are bold, sweet and powdery, but fairly generic. Lily-of-the-valley adds a noticeable little lift - fresh, green floral. Here, The One is at its best.

As it dries down, sweet vanilla comes to the fore, which, along with the amber accord makes for a very generic sweet drydown. It becomes musky as it fades. Sillage is moderate and longevity is pretty decent, as is typical of a vanilla-amber scent. Competent and cohesive, it has its moments (looking at you, lily-of-the-valley), but ultimately, The One is pretty generic. Still, a good choice for fans of sweet florientals. Bonus points however for the elegant bottle. 3/5.

shoujomarina

you know when you hear a perfume get hyped so much so you expect that it's going to blow your socks off when you try it? yea this was very much basic. powdery sweet floral ish scent. doesn't stand out at all. not even strong like people state. smells nice but I expected a strong peach vanilla, its moreso just powder with some hint of sweet. not worth a full bottle.

Scarlet Johansen's advertising campaign on this perfume is really good. I like the interview where she has her hair similar to Marilyn Monroe, with a darker blonde shade.

The ad was well written - and I like the film quality where the camera would move to the back lit light - where a stream of what looked like sunshine would create a hot spot with the camera and illuminate Scarlet in a beautiful way. Sparkling Sunshine -- very nice film quality.

Here were some of the phrases in the ad that I liked -

"Well, a girl has to have a private life -- it keeps the public interested."

"The smell of sunshine is the best, you know what I mean ----."

"Oh, I'm not looking for a million things, just that one perfect thing... LOVE."

-------

She also filmed a romantic style movie version with Matthew McConaughey where it looks like they were on holiday/vacation in Europe. I liked the European architecture scenes in this film clip. The couple looks aesthetically attractive, but their conversation seems a bit stilted - or like they had shot the film clip one too many times where it didn't have the right chemistry in the shot.

----------

I sampled this perfume several years ago, it was memorable then, but I was still wearing my signature perfume, so never sampled it further.

"The One" is a sweet, upper register (but not a high soprano note perfume), the blend is playful yet sophisticated, versatile, would be an easy reach to attend a number of different events and not so formal that it couldn't be worn every day as a signature. This is really nice. I like "The One". Will have to sample further.

----------

This has an optimistic vibe about it that stood out against the other perfumes that I sampled today. This is upbeat, light hearted upon first spray. This certainly stood out against the other perfumes that I sampled the day I tried this. The pitch of this perfume was much higher and sweeter than the other perfumes that I sampled. The vibe of this perfume is optimistic and it is carried through the notes in the perfume.

-------

This reminds me of some of the yellow "sunshine" type perfumes - such as Channel's Gabrielle. I have not sampled these side by side yet, but there is an optimistic vibe to this perfume which registers in the same type of range as Gabrielle. This is more of a juicy fruit perfume, whereas Gabrielle is more of a yellow and white floral composition, Gabrielle's florals tend to go a bit more loud and brassy than this (on occasion).

I found a reasonable price on Ebay and purchased this.
This has an optimistic vibe in the sunshine category of perfumes that I really like.
This is fresher and fruitier than Lady Millionaire, without the detergent smell... so if you like that one, you may also really like this.

I was wearing Burberry Body when this one arrived, this is in the same type upbeat, optimistic perfume vibe as Burberry Body, only BB has more of a carnation smell... The One smells slightly more soprano, more juicy fruit, and a few notes higher than Burberry Body. I like both for different reasons. If you like one, you may like the other -- and this works well sprayed over Burberry Body.

Dolce & Gabbana also make another new favorite perfume - L'Imperatrice 3 which is a fresh, fruity, sweet/sour type composition that has served as a game changer for my taste in perfumes. When I found this perfume, suddenly - this opened up the fragrance genre of fruity florals -- which I absolutely love and adore!

All are great new finds that I found this year when I dedicated myself to the task to find a new "signature" perfume!

D&G The One is definitely in the running as a signature worthy perfume. I like the freshness, sunshine quality of this perfume, the fruitiness. This is a really nice perfume. So glad that I found this!

-----------

"The One" by D&G is almost the same chord composition as "Joyful" by Escada. Both have the sweet/sour chord which is similar. "The One" is slightly more vanilla and more sweet, but they are both in the same fragrance genre.

------------
The Verdict -

I ordered this, wore it for a couple of days and find that this doesn't wear all that long on my skin. If it held on with more longevity, then it would certainly be in the running as a signature perfume. This lasts a total of 2 hours on my skin, and would need to be refreshed periodically throughout the day. If you just absolutely love the notes in this - and this is totally "Your Thing" - then I would certainly buy a purse size roller ball perfume or spray where you can refresh this when it begins to lose its potency.

A lot of reviews mention that this perfume is slightly "generic" - and I can see their point, however - there is a chemical dance that this does on my skin which definitely places this perfume in the "fresh" category. It is sweet, there is almost a marshmallow like sweetness which is very nice with the vanilla. The optimistic air of this perfume is really what I am liking and why I purchased this one. It is also what I liked about Dolce & Gabanna's L'Imperatrice 3 which is just fabulous, and also needs to be refreshed throughout the day. (That one lasts a total of an hour and a half to 2 hours on me).

Some have mentioned smelling peach and honey in this perfume. If that is what you are after, I would try Jivago Rose Gold, because that is definitely much more of a peach and honey type blend, but is blended in a way where it is more mature smelling (less fresh, and less bright). If you like honey and tuberose, I would look into Fred Hayman's 273 women's perfume, it has a similar optimistic vibe - with the tuberose it really makes that one shine. 273 is one of those that I can't stop spritzing, I love that one at full potency, just after you spray it.

The day that I sprayed about 8 perfumes on my arms, "The One" was the clear cut winner out of that race. It was the one that was the most optimistic vibe and the best with my chemistry.

Maddiec1999

Such a beautiful scent. Dries into a beautiful vanilla. I think this is suitable for all seasons especially autumn or spring. Suitable also for any occasion but I think is a great office scent as the silage isn’t too crazy. I love this so so much. Definitely going to purchase a full bottle after testing for a few weeks. Could be signature scent worthyyy 😍

LouiseRose

Based on the notes in this, I thought I would love it. But on my skin, all I get is almond and honey, zero flowers! Weird because neither almond nor honey are in there! I recently bought Guerlain, Champs Elysess and it smells almost identical to this. I don’t hate them, but definitely not my favorites.

violetelle

I’ve been wearing this perfume for the past six years or so, so from the age of about 20. I love it. It manages to be everything I like in a scent: fruity, floral, powdery and include vanilla. I don’t really know how to describe it or what to compare it to. It’s so well blended, no single note stands out in particular to me. It takes me back to all the good times I’ve had wearing this frag. It’s glamorous but not too much. Warm and inviting. Good all year round. I just love it.

libbyditz

I remember when I smelled this fragrance, I couldn't get it out of my head. It's unique, and unlike any other fragrance I've had. Creamy, and a perfect balance between citrus and floral. its perfect

Rebecca's daughter

Finally tried my sample. First on a blotter, which was lovely - creamy and lush. Then I sprayed it on my skin, and immediately I felt like Alice in Wonderland. I was slithering down a rabbit hole full of canned peaches, to finally land in a huge tub of Nivea cream, spiked with violets (although they aren't listed). Ten minutes later I was back in my bed of slippery peaches. Now, five hours later, there are some generic white flowers and a hint of mimosa faintly lingering on my arm.
It was a weird trip. I don't dislike it, but I have no desire to wear, let alone buy it.

Ylpha_Gyal

I had this perfume almost 10 years ago…my Mum was using it and I fell in love with it… I love the opening I wish it could stay longer because it gets quick to the dry down part which is beautiful and powdery but no more that unique… but I love and will always love this perfume. Anybody that likes sweet perfumes will enjoy this one too.

ThatGothBBW

I just really love this stuff. It's strong and projects really well, staying power is great to. It just smells so luxurious and indulgent. It's definitely mature, but not straight "grandma" either. It's fruity, powdery, floral, sweet, intoxicating, intense, etc.
It's got so many good things going for it. In my opinion ,it works for all weather and hours. In my opinion,a little goes a long way. When I wear this,it makes me feel so luxurious. I can't say enough good things about this fragrance. It's so well balanced in every aspect. Plus, the bottle is such amazing quality and it's nice and heavy :)

kristamb

I inadvertently came across a sample of this one. Unfortunately, peach notes nor floral notes are usually my thing. The One is no different....smells like a perfume counter to me, and just "egh ...perfumey." it isn't a poor quality perfume, just not for me.

Katy94

The most beautiful perfume I know … smell so rich and luxurious

LayersAndLayers

This used to be one of my favourites. I still enjoy it, but I prefer other things.
It smells citrusy and sweet, but not gourmand. The most prominent notes for me are the Clementine and the vanilla, but there is a dusty undertone to it when it dries down which I don't really like anymore. It reminds me of Christmas for some reason - I wouldn't wear this in summer. This is a fall/winter scent, quite cozy and warm.

coffeefifofum

Opening is very pretty, green and bright. Dry down is a basic light, white floral, vanilla, musk. I've heard The One was the first to this balance of scents, but I'm smelling it for the first time in 2022 and it smells like a dozen others. It's a very good scent, but as of now it's not a very unique scent.

Easy to wear. Any season, any occasion. moderate projection in a cool room. Top notes phase is brief, under 5 minutes, but they don't disappear entirely after the open.

wondervalley666

This is one of my favorite scents. I don't get "fruity" notes from it, at least not strong enough for me to easily identify. To me, this perfume smells like a bouquet of yellow summer flowers, which is funny as there aren't yellow flowers in it! It's warm, sunny, and sexy. My partner comments on how good I smell every time I put it on (I don't think he even realizes he's always commenting on that specific perfume). Even though this to me smells like a strong summer floral scent, it always performs great during the winter and makes me feel like I smell warm. I'd say it's mostly a safe buy for women over 25 who have grown out of the Bath & Body and Victoria's Secret body sprays. The first time I wore it, I liked it but didn't think it was great or special. Then I found myself craving more. Now I'm an addict.

I sprayed a couple spritzes of Alien by Mugler over this perfume after it started drying down one night and felt like I was immediately transformed into an actual living flower bomb. It was intoxicating. I'd say even though The One is a strong blend of many floral scents, it is possible to layer with others for even more unique and powerful combinations. I ended up testing an Alien flanker a few weeks later- either Sublime or Eau Extrodinaire, I forgot which, and have to say, that flanker to me smelled like poor knockoff with weak lasting power of the combination of classic Alien and The One.

I do wish The One lasted longer. I hate reapplying, and most of my favorite D&G scents have pretty mediocre performance. Approximately 10 sprays throughout my hair and body gives me about 3-4 hrs of good strong scent that is noticeable to people a few feet away. But after 4hrs I need to reapply, as the dry down sticks pretty close to the skin. I've only noticed this scent still subtly lingering on me after waking up the next morning once, so I'd say on average, it doesn't last more than 6-8hrs. I do not get "powder" from this as another commenter stated. Frankly, I hate powdery fragrances - I think baby powder smells sickly, and perfumes with a lot of powder smell too much like “grandma in the 80s.” To me, this is a floral blend only. I get so little musk I didn't even realize it was there - which is great because I only like some mild sweet musks. The One is clean and fresh and sunny and warm, like a garden that just bloomed.

Siv7Stars

I had high hopes for this, the notes looked perfect but on my skin it was a big white floral for far too long. I seemed to get the mid notes first with not much else. The dry down is peachier (sort of) with vanilla but it doesn't get there fast enough for me.

blondemelancholic

One of my favorite comfort perfumes. I don't get a big fruity wave when I smell it -- it is powdery, powdery, powdery. Think one of those powder puffs to apply makeup, opened bags of flour, fake Christmas snow, this is POWDER, and while that may be a turn-off to some people, I absolutely love it. This was my suit of armor when I had a tough round of job interviews because it is just so soothing and comforting, like snuggling into a big sweater or comfy blanket. I wouldn't say it's sexy or playful, but sweet and gentle and can be worn all day or all night.

nmassie

Very sweet, modern take on a classic, vintage floral. If you don't like smelling really sweet scents on yourself all day, you likely won't be a fan. I love sweet scents, and even for me, this is not preferable to wear. Weird, because I used to love this when I was in my late teens. Not sure what I saw in it.
The opening of strong peach and litchi top notes seem to be too candy-sweet with the white florals. Then as it dries down, it becomes too reminiscent bubblegum for my taste.

Most would probably call this classy and good for every day wear when you want something inoffensive, or when you don't know what else to wear. The sillage is not strong, it's a little more on the intimate/moderate side. It isn't too strong in the sense of making you sick to your stomach, or inducing headaches. The lasting power is decent(6+ hours).

This is a unique scent, and I'd probably recognize it if someone had it on. But it just doesn't do it for me—it's like the perfume equivalent of flat soda when I wear it. Not much to it, one dimensional. Too much sweet, and not much else to keep me interested.

fleshworld

I really wanted to love this fragrance as it was on my wishlist for almost a year but I can't get past the combination of powdery peach + white florals. I wish I got more of the vanilla and plum.

Chloesmells

The base notes smell a little bit like the base notes from l'interdit l'intense of Givenchy

thebloff

Super powdery, smooth, and pleasant. Very similar to Mont Blanc Signature for Women. 7.9/10

sonamincult

I wish I discovered it earlier. I bought it because it had a 30% sale. It starts with sweet notes (for me even overly sweet), but after 30-40 minutes it becomes magic, vanilla is so warm and doesn't sound like a candy or a cake. In the end, more sour and citrusy notes are noticeable. I like it. Recommend this for women aged 30+

LSAUG

The One is an ok fruity amber vanilla fragrance. Nothing special but an easy dumb reach if you don't know what you want to wear that day. I thought it was fine, but I didn't like it enough to add it to my collection. A tad safe and boring for my liking. I enjoy wearing older classics, they don't smell as generic as what is for sale at Ulta in today's day in age, which by the way has the most boring ads for make-up and fragrance I have ever seen. They are as dull as the fragrances.
Edit:2/26/22 I wish I had added this to my collection for a powdery vanilla instead of blind buying Nest's new Golden Nectar. The One is a much better perfume than that one is. I made a mistake. I will probably end up using the Nest perfume as air freshener (which is about all it is good for) and buying a bottle of this instead. This is a nice affordable powdery amber vanilla. And I do need that for an everyday type of scent.

Controlledbyscent31

Whenever I smell this on someone I instantly recognise it, they usually are well dressed , feminine and classy this is how I feel when I wear it too.
Nothing groundbreaking but a nice fruity addictive & sexy scent I miss thid in my collection which is why I've just ordered more it's a great perfume for many occasions all year round but i like to wear it when I'm dressed up.

UPDATE
I just brought a 75ml and I'm not happy, although the scent is the same. it does not last like it used too I fear it has been reformulated. 😢

bobross

I don't know what the problem is. Reading the pyramid I should love this but it just makes me go 'meh'. I have tried like a third of the bottle before giving it away. The scent is not offensive or headache inducing so I don't know why it isn't a match but whatever :)

missloveschocolate

Fruity, classy, great for everyday. No story there, but I think many people might like it.

rosehips

Smells divine until the headache sets in. Great on paper but cloying on my skin.

spaghettibuns

I am a FAN of amber when its done right. THIS? Is done right! And for some reason, I cant distinguish between any of the notes. They all magically come together to create a sweet soft sexy scent. Its powdery, which i am usually NOT a fan of any powder at all, and this stuff is VERY powdery, but i forgive it. I love it so much. I even love the powdery aspect of the scent. Its such a sexy scent its perfect for date night. I want to spray this on my bed. I am in love!

This stuff makes me so happy yall, i havent had my bottle for a whole 24 hours and ive already bathed in it 4 times! and i mean BATHED in it. MEOW!

Yes Malena

Does not hang together as a coherent fragrance on me. Smells great on paper, but on me the peach stands out and apart, which distracts me too much from the lily. I don't know if I like lily and plum together either.
Something in here smells really good, maybe it's the litchi and vetiver. Overall it just leaves me confused. Somehow this is all a mish mash for me. It doesn't pull me in and make me want to hear more. Pass.
Fussyfragrance said "stuffy sweetness" and I agree with that.

beforesunset_mj

I love the smell of this perfume despite the fact that it’s fruity and also so common. I am sure I smelled this multiple times before but i was still too enchanted not to buy. It’s my first fruity perfume (having been into floral) and I absolutely love it. I can smell it on myself for at least 6hr after and that is one of the best feelings ever. Its not too overwhelming. My husband loves it on me and we kind of got this together so there’s that fond memory to it.

zhetheru

The One is a sexy all-year-round fragrance, that I wouldn't write home about. I like it, but I feel as though I've smelled this fragrance a thousand times. I'm not impressed by it but if I were going on a first date and didn't want to think about what perfume to wear, I would grab this. This is a safe-sexy scent, I picture many women that enjoyed Fifty Shades of Grey wearing this, no offense.

MothRah

I do not know what it is about this, but I find that it smells like powdery, dried and old sunscreen that might have rubbed onto a jacket that I wore a week ago at an amusement park. It was a blind buy, and just a travel size so thankfully I'm not too upset about it. I will try it again, certainly.. But it absolutely disappointed me. It also kind of made me smell like I had been drinking - and not in a cute way.

inesita75

I fell in love with this perfume from a sample. I inmediately thought it had a very pronounced 80s touch (which I love), being modern at the same time.
On me, it shines on the heat. I see here that people put it on the winter-fall categories, but for me, in the cold it pulls a bit synthetic and flat. But today it's 40º C degrees out there, the asphalt is melting and I've been surrounded since this morning by the most gorgeous and delicate cloud of deliciousness, that never suffocated me. Maybe it's a matter of chemistry. This just goes in my summer tray.
In any case, I love it. Haven't tried the flankers to compare, though.

nateya

This perfume is a lightly floral scent with a touch of sweetness. The vanilla is light and airy in this one and the honeysuckle shines through. It’s also powdery like baby powder but in a good way! It’s very pretty and perfect for every day wear. It’s not overwhelming but people will definitely notice you. If you like powdery and honeysuckle notes, give this one a try!

Edit: I didn’t realize there’s no honeysuckle in the notes lol. I’m not sure which note is reminding me of honeysuckle but it smells so good! This is an ultra feminine perfume.

Caron20

My ex-boyfriend loved this fragrance on me, so I always wore it when meeting him or going on date with him. But as we broke up, I dceided to drop this scent too as it reminds me of him more. I actually kept it in last row of my collection so to avoid it. But, it was then I relaized, I like thi sscent so much that I can’t avoid wearing it. So, I finally thought, chuck the nonsense up and now I am going to wear it whenever I want, because I love it. This is so addictive with the luxurious cashmere texture and vanilla essence in background. Best gourmand ever which is fresh, clean and memmerizing. Longevity of this one is superb along with amazing silage. Excellent scent to fall for that smells so expensive. Not too powdery, not too sweet and truly balanced one. All in all, this is a perfect perfume that could be worn easily anywhere. Either be grocery store, office, wedding, date or any other special event. This is always going to stay on top shelf anf be my forever love.

IVIL

I love how perfumes would be always connected to certain memories. This one for me is a definition of a time when I was 16 yrs old and I started to discover fancy clubs in Prague with my older friends. This was “it” perfume of that time. Strong, so you can smell it on you the other day, very powdery, vanilla, sweet scent which was very feminine and sexy. I’ve smelled it recently and it still has that strong powder note to me but I would not buy it again, even gotta admit it will always be in my memory as a first “mature” perfume I used.

GinCatsBooks

The One is smooth, voluptuous and sophisticated without feeling stuffy or dated. Despite its 2006 release, The One still smells modern and it is also not something I smell on every other person either, it is sheer class in bottled.

The opening is quite intensive and at times can feel like an olfactive attack as all the notes feel like they are trying to grab your attention all at once but, after a minute or so it settles to reveal a gentle fizz from the bergamot and delicate, fleshy sweetness from the litchi, I can't really smell the peach or the mandarin however. After 10 or so minutes, florals begin to bloom; lily is the most noticable and reminds me ever so slightly of Cartier Baiser Vole except Baiser Vole is considerably more green and sharp, lily of the valley and jasmine smooth the sharp edges of the lily and plum gives a soft fuity facet and helps stop the white florals from becoming too screechy. The florals tone down though and I begin to smell a silky smooth vanilla as the scent dries down, the vanilla and vertiver remind me a little bit of Lancome Hypnose but not as dense and creamy, amber and musk give an extra dimenson to the drydown.

The silage is moderate with a good longevity, we're reaching the 5hr mark and its still going strong from 3 spritzes, I can see this working well for the colder months and whilst it feels professional and would work well in an office setting, it also feels playful and alluring, think smart casual wear and events during the cooler months, especially during the evenings.
I'm sorry I overlooked this for so long, due to the era it was released and the colour of the packaging I half expected it to be similar to Paco Rabanne Lady Million, how (thankfully!) wrong I was!!
Repurchase, a winter essential and definately one of my favourites from D&G
Just a quick mention, my bottle was made by Shiseido

dinazalshapy

It smells nice and sophisticated! I find it more of an evening/ night perfume. Its long lasting and high performance. Not for an intimate date, but maybe for attending some kind of special occasion (wedding, birthday party, concert). It would make a good first time impression.

Kkardaper

Tried this at Ulta once and I picked up banana boat sunscreen in the opening it sort of died down and rounded out to a more fruity floral. However that sunscreen aspect was still there for me. I tried it again in hopes that maybe my nose was messed up and it was much the same. To me its very summery and I am surprised many see it as more fall/winter. I kind of like the sunscreen aspect if I where going to a beach but otherwise I can't really be tempted to want it as an every day scent.

Stoicchild

This one's a very soft vanilla scent. The projection isn't great. The longevity is poor. It lasts 2 - 3 hours after that it's very subtle. The dry down and the opening is the same for me, very light. D&G plays it very safe. I don't know whether to purchase the latest 'The only one 2'. I'm confused due to the performance of this one turned out to be a very cosy scent that I mostly wore to bed. D&G never makes scents that actually makes a presence, like full on. Hence, I'm unsure about purchasing another bottle from 'The One' collection. The price is over $100 and the performance is less than average. I'll spray on "The only one 2" on my self and see how long it lasts, if its the same old poor performance i'll not bother.

LesGirls

I actually really like the opening here. It smells exactly like a perfectly ripe peach in summer-- not fake peach candy, or frozen peaches. It smells the way a peach smells right before you bite into it, that moment the fuzz tickles your nose. On me The One dries down into a vague sweetness and powder smell. But those first five minutes are absolutely glorious and make this a summer fragrance for me.

MiaKlark

Oh this is just horrible! I'm sorry but this smells so dated and old in the weirdest way. Like the floral waters they used to use way back in the day but in the worst way. Like the artificial floral scents used in detergents.
I got a FB after trying it in store and finding it so beautiful..was not aware there was a reformulation which was what I got.
So be careful which bottle you are getting

antoniov

I had tried this years ago back in the days it was advertised by Monica Bellucci but it's one of these scents that never worked on me. I smelled like...church..it was bad

Lo87

Good sillage and unique...wouldn't repurchase, a bit too strong and not feminine enough for my taste.

D&gredcap

READ: never judge a fragance if you wore it once only. This one is stunning but…and a big big BUT…you guys have to get the P&G formula - it lasts super long and performs much better. COTY ruined it. Sorry about it COTY! 🙈😂 ****DO NOT BUY THE MADE IN FRANCE FORMULA AS IT HAS NO STRENGTH **** get the Made in UK

famousprophets

my signature scent for a few years! i love the peachy, warm floral vanilla. maybe a little soapy, which i like? made me feel classy in the midst of a couple depressive years. it gives me a headache now for some reason but it’s a very nice scent, just can’t wear it anymore. such a lovely, warm, sweet scent.

BettyBoop75

The One ♡ Sooooo Creamy, Sweet & Well-Blended!! This fragrance really clings to my skin and clothes. Periodically I catch a whiff of myself and it makes me SMILE from within...

On me, it stays close too my body. Not exactly a skin scent, but perhaps a sitting or standing close by scent. For me, lasting power is moderate, and I really wish it would project better!!

I have added "The Only One" to my wish list; I'm hoping it will project better!! Until next time, Happy Perfuming Dolls ~

*B* ❤💢❤

scnofthcrime

On me this is a medium weight vanilla rice custard or pudding with some floral accents. Something about this scent reminds me a little of the smell of cooked rice, hence the rice pudding like accord. Despite that, I wouldn't say this is super foody or gourmand. I wouldn't say this is blazingly original or anything like that and I don't know that it's even something I would recommend to others because it's a fairly typical, common warm vanilla scent (the only thing that's slightly different about it on my skin chemistry is the cooked rice note), but I do enjoy this and I think I'll enjoy my pen spray of this while it lasts.

larisa16

Such an underated perfume! Elegant, classy, eternal and playful. We need to talk about this scent more. If Armani Si and a bunch of peaches had a baby, this would be it. Also this reminds me of my mother as she wore this all the time a couple of years ago and I may or may not have used it behind her back 😁 Now I have a bottle of my own and everytime I want to remember my mother, I spray it. Also, a good candidate for a bridal scent. 🤍

aest

only thing i can smell is white soap

Miaharley7

The lily in the opening almost made me regret this one… but past the first 10 mins, it’s so gorgeous. Soft, floral, a little sweet. If creamy was a scent, this would be it in my opinion. Appropriate for all seasons and occasions. I usually wear what I want when I want, but in a traditional sense this is appropriate for evening or daytime and summer and winter. Really easy to reach for and keeps me sniffing my wrists.

TunyaPe

I usually dislike fruity fragrances, but the vanilla-ey drydown of this one is just so alluring and sensual (wait 10 mins to get pass the sharp opening). However, what attracts me to it is a touch of resinous (giving a little dated vibes) as well as solar quality while still possessing sensuality like Roberto Cavalli edp (more solar). I do not find it soapy nor powdery as to me it is fruity-floral vanilla base scent. Also, I personally associate it with translucent pale yellow instead of gold colour.

Good to know there are not too many people who truly appreciate this beauty, so I can keep it to myself as my dumb reach.

Tishreen_iris

most of the time you smell beautiful and classy sweet vanilla
Everything is suitable for people who addict vanilla note
I also recommend Johan B" rich delice " perfume as a dupe , and at a price less than $ 25 👍
For more follow me on Instagram "@tishreen011" alot of arabic and turkish dupes cheap prices with good projections
I mentioned them in my insta account

KarolaFragrance

I received a sample of this and today I am testing it for the third time. To my nose it is a very ripe peach mixed with yellow florals (although there are none in the notes piramid). I find this to be quite mature and vintage smelling, I envision elegant older woman wearing it. Sth more suitable for my mother-in-law than myself.

Sugarpoiso

I've worn this on and off for over a decade. The opening is soapy/white floral/sharp but after 10 minutes it's a soft powdery beauty that gets creamier and dreamier with time

Cici20

I’m a sucker for white florals and this is what got me hooked! I get a heavenly blend and of peach and vanilla. It’s definitely one of my most complimented perfumes.

Thé sillage is good because even when you can’t smell it, others around you will. The note development is also amazing because you just keep smelling differently the longer it sits on the skin.

KymIndigo

I've seen some differing reviews on this one regarding scent notes, and it might be my skin chemistry, but on me it is warm honeyed peaches and vanilla bean (although not gourmand at all). After an hour it dries down to reveal my personal favourite floral Lily-of-the-valley with the vanilla and mild peach. Towards the end of the day it is a mild musk-vanilla skin scent with a touch of amber and a faint woody note. This fragrance feels very warm, sensual and comforting to me.

I don't love this. At least it has a cute bottle. I don't get litchi but I get a soapy white floral with peach. It's really strong at first spray. Boyfriend was like this is ok. After 1 hour he said he didn't like it at all. After about 4 hours it's nice but that's probably because it's all gone.

This probably could work on someone who likes white floral but doesn't want to smell 90s white floral intense. The peach, vanilla and musk is a nice edition.

I used to love this perfume. But it goes off so easily. And when it goes off , it really goes OFF. Extremely sensitive to heat. So unless you live in an igloo I'd try go through the bottle fast. Needless to say , wasn't happy that I spent so much to have to throw away after a short while.

The One is a really good one for spring and summer, though it can work any season. It does quite well in hot, humid weather especially because it's sweet but very fresh-fruity and light, sort of clean. It's elegant and sophisticated, perfect for daytime at work or an evening out. I don't find it to be a standout or terribly unique but it's beautiful and versatile.

I bought this for my sister this last Christmas.

Since then my passion for fragrances really exploded. You can see me fragrance lineup, that's all from this year LOL!!

Anyway, she came to visit this past weekend and she brought this fragrance with her. This was the first "for women" fragrance I have smelled since starting my journey. Wow, this fragrance really blew me away! I sprayed it on my arm and I kept smelling it all day. In fact, I may get a little decant for myself. I think I could rock this fragrance.

Easy buy. Mass appealing. More unisex than I anticipated.

All I smell is vanilla. It's a nice, soft vanilla, but it's just vanilla.
EDIT: This has really grown on me. I can wear it all day and not get tired of it. This is quickly becoming a go-to fragrance for me.

This one really baffled me to be honest lol. At first, I really wasn't a fan. Something about the first few minutes on me reminded me of the smell of play-doh and grandmas (I know, odd). That being said, having worn it for a while, it developed on my skin really nice into rich and warm vanilla, plum, and amber scent. It smells really classy and warm, and I could see it being someone's signature scent, but I can also see a lot of people disliking it. I would say definitely don't blind buy this one, and if you give it a go, let it develop on your skin for a while and see how you like it then.

A bowl of sliced peaches drizzled with a little honey on a table in the sunshine. Sweet and golden. Warm and light. Makes me want to wear a swishy dress and curl my hair.

This scent is one of the most luxurious and sumptuous smell I ever smelt in my life for now. It's extremely deep and sexy. It can be used during night time and whenever I smell it I imagine those royal queens wearing it. It's def for mature women like 30+ above whose successful and wealthy. This is a perfume with lots of ingredients and I cannot dissect everythin on it. Longevity will be like 5-6 hrs max on my skin. I cannot spray it all over coz it would be intoxicating on my nose. I let my husband smell it and he liked it. It's a fruity floral perfume.

This smells like a bar of soap on me. Something from my grandmothers bathroom. Floral soap.

I kept bashing this everywhere, whenever another perfume had some common elements (see the masculine on me heavy L'Interdit: bergamot, jasmine, vetiver). I had a secret crush on it, but I was too young to crave sweet scents (is it a hormonal thing maybe? idk). The strong peach and intense kinda smoky amber/vetiver were reminiscent of church incense to my nose. Now growing older I have started loving and seriously craving sweet, deep scents and I love anything incense, benzoin, vetiver, but I still did not wanna give in to The One. Though the more I tried it on and "rejected" it, the more I craved it the next day. Weird.

Then I tried and loved Burberry Her Intense due to its balsamic, strong character (the first hour of it before it ends up smelling like BR 540) which reminded me so much of The One's balsamic DNA, and I HAD to finally buy it along with L'eau The One. Im really in love with it now and Im proudly out of the closet for it. It is syrupy balsamic fruity with an addicting floral touch to it. I think it is the queen in its league if you love vetiver. The surrounding notes made me love the peach in it.
I also like L'Eau The One, not as much though because at first it is very sharp/ambery on me, slightly dusty at first from the amber and dry/crisp, but perfect for summer as it is lighter. L'Eau The One smells better on my mom's oily skin. I do smell the peach/mandarin orange of MJ Honey, esp in the L'Eau The One, from the sprayer. I needed both, but you dont cuz they end up smelling the same on me after hours. Im not a fan of L'Eau The One's opening and first 20 mins, but It is equally addicting, esp its drydown which I might love more than The One's I think, because it has that same DNA but in a more clear scent without anything heavy. The One is perfect for fall and winter though.

I don't know why but this perfume smells like a dusty peach or an old mansion's rug and theres no in between.

malikun

really sweet and sensual, not suitable for work unless you are trying to seduce somebody haha. Definitely not a blind buy , DM me if you would like to try a sample, will be happy to arrange a sample swap or smth..

This perfume does not make any sense to me.
The fragrance: on me is not bad, not nice either.
The bottle is useless. Maybe a small 30 ml bottle can be hand held, but a 75 ml just doesn't fit in the palm, let alone to spray from it.
A prime example of non-sense fashion!

Opened this bottle today and tried it on my skin.
First impressions: I don't think I really like it right now but may have potential at another time, maybe in fall and cooler weather.
Opening: really citrus-y and aromatic. I pick up the bergamot + extra zest; must be the orange.
Development: there's this prominent note in the background that's hard to describe, and now that I look at the notes, I think it's the plum. But it's not fruity, just dark, and deep, a little robust. Smells like the early 2000's. I also smell the peach, but that's not sweet either, in fact nothing about this perfume is sweet to me. I't spicy and warm and amber. Kind of smells like a warm, spiced, black tea with peach flavoring and a little vanilla.
I'll have to come back to it in the fall, but for now it just smells a little outdated and not my style.
Update: (8.12.2021) I'm still working on this perfume and I think my biggest issue with it is that it smells watered down. The description did mention it being thin. But other than that it's growing on me a little, a little more tolerable.
Update: (10.7.2021) This perfume has challenged me, but I like it now. It performs best in cooler weather to me. It's warmer and softer and more vanillic and less harsh and screechy to my nose, like it is in the warmth. I'm getting low and want another bottle.
