Desnuda by Emanuel Ungaro is a Amber Floral fragrance for women. Desnuda was launched in 2001. The nose behind this fragrance is Domitille Michalon Bertier. Top notes are Cardamom, White Peach, Pepper, Tuberose, Blood Mandarin and Sicilian Bergamot; middle notes are Plum, Freesia, Iris, Cyclamen, Rose and Jasmine; base notes are Vanilla, Cinnamon, Sandalwood, Mimosa, Osmanthus, Musk and Tonka Bean.

Desnuda( Naked) is a sensuous composition, ethereally and light, warm and comfortable, with fresh citruses harmonized with oriental floral delicacy. Top notes are: Sicilian bergamot, blood mandarin orange, white peach, cardamom and pepper. Rich flowers (tuberose, freesia, jasmine, iris, Chinese rose and cyclamen) are softened by gourmet and sensuous plum, which bring us the warmth of the Spanish sun at the heart. The base consists of mimosa, sandalwood, cinnamon, vanilla, musk and osmanthus. The perfume was created by Domitille Michalon in 2001. Bottle designers made sure that applying of this fragrance with a small brush becomes a game.

For me Desnuda has nothing to do with Dolce vita, since I can't put my finger on the latter. Just because they do share some notes, it doesn't mean they have any similarities. Dolce vita is loud, dusty cinnamon with screechy white florals that make me sneeze. Desnuda is creamy, reminiscent of a Dove soap bar scent. You have to love cardamom and pepper to enjoy it. A beautiful fragrance that stays close to the skin, lovely for spring and fall. I get a prominent mimosa note, no sweetness on me, very musky, powdery and spicy. It's like a hot cup of very aromatic tea with milk. A very affordable and well blended perfume suitable for the gym, office, hikes and various occasions.

The wife has had this for years and still a full bottle....l assume she doesn't like it.

brandiwine1980

Thank you! I had this one in my early 20’s when it debuted and forgot all about it! I don’t remember exactly what it smelled like, but. I liked it! Sweet and sexy as desnuda means naked! I’ll have to get a bottle again!

amandavolpe

An overseasoned fragrance. No one needs that much black pepper on their perfume. Seriously.

(I only complain this much about Desnuda because I love the dry down and it's quite SADISTIC that it must make SUFFER to get there).

drugstore classics

'Quietly Glorious', as another reviewer noted. The perfect description.

Not everyone will enjoy. Desnuda is an understated scent - chic but not loudly glamourous.

Powder haters MUST avoid. Those who cannot tolerate freesia in even the tiniest amounts must also bypass. I can sometimes wear a bit of freesia, even if she is a touch sharp on me, as in Cerruti 1881. In fact, Desnuda gives the same sort of impression on me, even though they are quite different. There is a slight similarity in Style (though not scent) with Iceberg Universe also. If you enjoy either Cerruti 1881 or Iceberg Universe, Desnuda could well be your next lovely, bargain find. They are alike, yet if you enjoy this style, they are unique enough to merit having each one, as a sort of mystical trio. One will give you a feel - to some degree - of the others. I find Iceberg to be the most 'friendly' of the three, warmer and with more powder in general.

Overall, Airy, spare, elegant, ethereal, and counter-cultural. This could even be a sort of modest niche, by today's standards. Do not expect the same scent as Dolce Vita, though they may share some notes. Dolce Vita is much sweeter and louder, as the name implies.

To sum up: Though Desnuda is the absolute opposite of that femme masterpiece by Ungaro, Diva (well named!), she IS an elegant lady. <3

Desnuda, what a surprise! This fragrance so delicate but rich of shades at the same time, light but persistent can become a perfume for everyday. For me Desnuda worth more that she cost.

amandavolpe

There is a major difference between this and Dolce Vita: Desnuda smells cheap, Dolce Vita smells expensive.

There are amazing cheap perfumes that smell beautifully blended, as well as expensive ones that are not worth the money. But when it comes to comparisons between Desnuda and Dolce Vita, you get what you pay for.

It's all in the sandalwood, which here is heavily synthetic and leans on hairspray territory, and in Dolce Vita smells natural. This is my personal preference, of course. I've learned that my nose finds sandalwood-heavy fragrances difficult to enjoy when they smell too synthetic, as I seem to have the same issue with Jeanne Arthes' dupe of Burberry Women.

In my experience, Desnuda smells its worst in the first hour, with its loud, harsh, scratchy, peppery punch of cardamom and plastic sandalwood, and its best in the dry down, when it has mellowed into a gentle, fluffy cloud of spicy peach and vanilla.

There are, however, many beautiful scents in the market based on this gorgeous arrangement of peach, spices and vanilla, so I don't see the point of waiting around for this fragrance to placate itself into something agreeable.

ciobanu.andreea

To tell you the truth, this is the lousiest perfume I've ever had: strange and undefined notes, weak, very poor longevity, sillage. I swear I can find better on a supermarket counter, than this one. I bought it based on general reviews, I was curious to try it, knowing that it is a loyal clone to Dolce Vita by Dior. But what a disappointment! It doesn't even have the lasting power of a cologne! It is an offence to compare this cheap juice with Dolce Vita! Anyways, to decribe it: in the first hour you get pure alcohol, nothing else! Then some weird florals emerge and after that it settles into a very weak woody note, more like old furniture wood, after which it totally disappears! I cannot even use this as a room freshener, since it doesn't smell good. Luckily the price was not very high, which is even more obvious that the designer himself found this very cheap.

swedishmilk15

I like this A LOT! It's a great subsitute for my expensive Dolce Vita when I'm in that sort of mood but I don't want to "waste" the good juice; however (!) Sometimes the sneezy/marine freesia in this really bothers me.

My Summer 2022 fragrance (I had the newer version). Wore it pretty much all summer including my wedding day, it was a very small ceremony so this fairly casual but pretty scent fit the occasion very well, I thought.

On the first spray, I get musky florals with a hint of sweetness, not very unique but still charming, I can kind of hear 90's romcom songs playing in my head from smelling this, especially on a warm summer day. Within an hour or two, the sweetness becomes more pronounced, making it a dreamy carefree vanilla scent fit the rest of its duration (about 4 hours until I feel I'm ready to reapply).

If I had to name this fragrance myself, I'd call it "Vanilla Sky". It's light, fluffy, cloudy vanilla supported my gentle floral notes, great for enjoying some ice cream outside on a perfect blue sky day. Casual and uncomplicated, but suitable for all ages and all occasions, except maybe very posh formal functions as it doesn't smell that fancy or expensive. A great deal for the price.

Tinabill

Desnuda is a softly spicy, cozy musk with a subtle sweetness and some powder.
It whispers but lingers. I find it a very elegant yet comfy and cuddly skin scent. I love to wear it to bed.
Apart from some transient citrus in the opening I get no discernible fruit or even floral notes, but as accords they add an overall creamy and silky sweetness.
It is just lovely, I strongly like it. If it had stronger sillage it would have been definitely a love 💕.

DariaFrancesca74

Desnuda del nose Domitille Michalon Bertier for Emanuel Ungaro, is markedly feminine, structured and complex that with nudity in a broad sense has little to see. The opening notes on the dry appear slightly citrusy, the épices note of cardamom and pepper are disruptive, the central notes open onto a lush spring flower garden, where I feel freesia and jasmine with a slight hint of iris. Over time, vanilla, musk and tonka bean give a reassuring and powdery welcome that is completely unexpected. Probably the desnuda name of this feminine fragrance evokes the thousand facets and mysterious complexities of woman, putting her totally naked. Sillage of a structured perfume. Good durability. Not expensive at all.

soniamcalear

Way prettier than Diva in my opinion. Nice soft Spicy scent. A total Signature Scent I ware in theFall. I could drown in this beautiful scent!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Aeiris81

Desnuda is anything but a loud, in-your-face, head-turning fragrance. Instead, I get this subtle, delicate, sunny potion that fills my senses with the comfort of a heartfelt embrace. It really does smell like warm, sun-kissed skin. Loveliness in a bottle😊

Frangipanilove

Notes sounded promising, result dull and boring. This is 70% white musk with a little something thrown in. None of the other notes really seem to show up its just kind of a note muddle. What happened?

staka01

This is beautiful. Soft yet I catch whiffs of it for hours. Its just a light, pretty blend that is not too sweet. I get the cardamom and peach with a little spicy pepper but all very well blended. This is my go to for places where I want to smell nice but not advertise that I am wearing a perfume. Lovely.

LSAUG

This was a free sample I got from my order of a mini of Dahlia Noir. I was not expecting it, but I am pleasantly surprised (because the free samples you usually get are cheap smelling crap) at what a lovely perfume this is. This is a pretty cardamom, cinnamon peach scent that is supported by subtle florals. Softly sweet, slightly powdery, dusty sweet spices linger w/ a heavenly musky quality. I might have to search out a bottle of this beauty. It gives me the feeling of peach and yellow colored sunsets over a lake on a warm late summer evening. Glad I got this sample.

Edit: same day. I just compared this to Elizabeth Taylor's Black Pearls and while not a copy or a dupe it reminds me of that which I already own. This is very pretty and a great value.

lynnie131

Desnuda was a surprise blind buy! So very inexpensive, I presume it is discontinued. It is soft, spicy, and on me has very good sillage and longevity. Smells expensive. I got a bottle of dolce vita, and yes they are similar, I wore each on separate hands to compare, and I actually prefer the dry down of Desnuda more, and hands down Desnuda lasts longer. I like DV but for a great substitute at a cheap price Desnuda is a winner. Just bought a large back up bottle as I think this will soon disappear.

mirisfrik

Dolce Vita for every day use was very long on my wishlist, but this comes with 100€ plus price tag.
Desnuda, on the other side was 20€ for 100ml.
Was it wanted money?
Yes and no!
They Are very simmilar in opening. Both being very cinamonn sharp. But after a while, Dolce Vita softens in something Like the most pleasant flower buque. This is where Desnuda flops. When it comes to the point where She shoud show her feminine side, She just fades away. Disappears. She is gone.
This point is unfortunately Like hour or two of wear.

Cypka Drypka

I adore this fragrance ❤ it doesnt happen often but I consider this fragrance to be absolutely perfect. It's worth 10 times more and if you think different because of its poor performance then I say you completely misunderstand the beauty of it.
Desnuda couldn't be any more powerful or intense, it's not her purpose and also i think she wouldn't be wearable for a long period of time if more powerful. But she works fully on a warm body. She's got a lot to say in such a smooth but loud way, it makes me mesmerised. She's full bodied, dense and complex in a mature, sexy, warm way but she's also joyfull, bright and uplifting.
She shouts with womanity. What a shame this fragrance has been discontinued, it has all of features to make a great niche fragrance. It's dynamic, tells a story, it's surprising and the composition is really beautiful and smooth. The opening evokes the memories of Kenzo Le Tigre :) but that's all, then Desnuda gains a personality of its own. If you still have a chance, buy it try to understand it and accept it as it is, and you'll not regret ☺

Cicc

Really nice clean and powdery fragrance, I love it. The scent somehow reminds me of the Nivea body lotion from late '90s - early 00's. I just can't recall if it was the blue or the white one.

Pet Ams

Oops, need to update this lovely scent seeing I completely crossed two perfumes into this one scent 😳
I’m not one to smell individual notes, instead I usually “get a feel” or a vibe so my two cents may sound a tat confusing yet I love this perfume so want to try and add my idea about it.
This perfume on me opened luxurious with a very light powdery musk, nothing cloying or heavy, it’s light and lovely.
I also get some sandalwood, again nothing heavy, on me it’s light and fresh. After a few hours I smell a delicate bouquet of flowers together with a light powdery vibe. After 5-6 hours I get a whiff of this deluxe sexy red lipstick scent, I’m not saying that this is a lipstick scent, it’s a reminiscence of this expensive red lipstick I smelled a long time ago.
Desnuda is a beautiful scent, sticks on my clothes until next day, and on skin about 5-6 hours.
Happy with this blind buy!

I can't believe they are almost giving this beautiful perfume away. I got a bottle for under $20 and think it an exceptional bargain for the price. It is soft but you can still smell it. Reading through the reviews I see that others people think it is similar to Dolce Vita. Bringing up the note profile to do a side by side, I am amazed to see that they are almost identical, yet this smells better to me than that. While I thought Dolce was okay, I think this it beautiful. I found Dolce very woody, which I don't care for in a fragrance. I didn't like that stinky cumin note either. Thankfully, this doesn't have that. I just like this fragrance more overall.

zind

I've been wearing a lot of niche scents lately and forgot about Desnuda. Well, shame on me! This is just as good as any perfume that cost 10 or 20 times as much. It is THAT good. And I agree that it is sexy and womanly, it must be a blessing for a man to smell this on a woman. Desnuda is not weak and does not deserve to have that implied, but it is soft and ever lasting. It is complex without being difficult and ridiculously smooth. Nude is a great description, it is like the scent of multiple skin and hair products that melds into the unique smell of that one woman, like an extension of her. I don't know many (any?) scents with that quality. Such a beautiful spicy, fruity, flowery scent. Pure bliss!

cinnakitty

Having loved smelling Dolce Vita as a child, I was so unhappy when it appeared to have been reformulated. This smells like the memory of Dolce Vita to me and it makes me happy.

flordelceibo

I must admit that I am among the minority who thinks that this perfume is pleasant, but there is nothing special in it.
According to my smell, the development timeline is the following:
- first 15 min: soapy fruit salad with lots of cardamom
- following 45 min: soapy fruit salad, not so spicy
- after 1 hour: the perfume starts to be pleasant. Nice skin scent. The fruity and flower notes start to be more balanced, but individual notes can't be distinguished also in my view.

I think that in the 80's or 90's I would have considered this scent sophisticated and classy - this is pretty much how many of my secondary-school teachers smelled back then, as far as I remember. Given that smells have evolved and I am myself more mature now, currently I cannot find this perfume either sophisticated or classy at all. I do not regret my blind buy, though, it was fine for the price.

Annemarie

So many eloquent reviews of this perfume. Summary: gentle sillage, great longevity, restrained, elegant.

Desnuda is not a statement perfume but it's like a gentle intelligent friend who is always interested in anything you have to say, and makes you feel good. (Know those sort of people?) It's is absolutely perfect for those days when you want to be scented but need to keep it to yourself, such as visits to the doctor, or job interviews (depending on your attitude to job interviews!). Or pottering about at home, just in need of a bit of comfort.

I can't pick out many individual notes or accords - not that it matters because the overall effect is what I love - but I get spices (cardamom especially, in the opening), unspecified florals, and yes, a delightful warm and smooth sandalwood. I don't get much peach, I will say that. I'm sure it's in there, adding to the effect, but it's in the back row of the chorus and I can't hear it too well. For this reason I don't find Desnuda all that similar to Dolce Vita, where the peach is obvious and quite fruitily sweet.

Adding: the perfumer for this also worked on VCA's Midnight in Paris and (although I'm going on memory) MIP had a similar soft, easy-wearing character.

grapefruit352

Desnuda is a very pleasant, warm, but not overwhelming fragrance. Main accords here for my nose are spices (sandalwood, cinnamon and cardamon, tonka beans). Very noticeable here the presence of a peach. Peach is not a raw one, but conserved sweet peach. You could put to the can with those conserved sweet peaches cinnamon, cardamon, some vanilla, sandalwood and you will get fragrance which is close to Desnuda.
So, obviously its warm oriental slightly fruity and spicy mix. Flowers here are a little bit behind the scene, musk is silent. I would say that there is no musk here at all, but could be amber theoretically.
Truly reminds Dolce Vita of Dior by all of those pyramid notes that I have just told. Check the pyramid of Dolce Vita of Dior, its almost identical to Desnuda and its not a surprise.
Of course it does not makes them "the same fragrances". Dior sounds sharper, more of alcohol denat notes in the beginning and silage is more loud. Desnuda is more like a softer, cozier version of the same idea, more like edt version, more smooth and a little bit watered down. Holds quite long on the hair. For to enjoy it more- I apply 3-4 sprays at least at a time.
Desnuda suits for spending cozy time at home with your close ones, reminds Christmas celebration with cinnamon cookies, warms up feelings, good for relaxation.. Calms down and makes you sleep better (I go to sleep sometimes with this fragrance). With Dolce Vita I certainly could not fall asleep and it would be constantly waking me up, because its too prominent. Dolce Vita is more for the party and some outdoor celebrations.
I have both of those fragrances-new versions of both of them. They are really for the different kind of atmosphere and different occasions.

Seaworthy

Desnuda is a very, very sexy fragrance. Slightly spicy, seductively sweet, as the name implies it's your skin but much much better. Longevity on me is about 6 hours with soft sillage it's perfect for a "close encounter". Perfect.

Midea

After reading so many great reviews I thought I'll get something incredible.. But did I? NO.
Very ordinary smell and smells nothing like Dolce Vita, which I own ( I am on a 3rd bottle)!
I don't smell any vanilla or peach or sandalwood but there is one strange note that makes this fragrance smell like human sweat! ((( Also, to smell anything you have to smell it close to the skin, move 10 cm away from your skin and you cannot smell anything at all.
I own many beautiful smelling perfumes including Dolce Vita, Organza, Samsara, Venezia, Cantate, Sensuous, Anna Sui Dreams and all of them smell beautiful yet Desnuda just doesn't match up to any of those.
But then it is much cheaper than all those others and now I understand why. It would be an ok fragrance if it wasn't for that sweat note that overtakes all other notes and make it smell harsh. No, I don't like it and wouldn't buy again.

Anamandy

I want to address the issue of vintage vs modern formula that some mention here. I have a vintage mini with the brush and the newer spray bottle. To my nose, and by comparison testing, they are exactly the same. I am not getting any difference in scent, longevity, or silage. This was never a beast mode fragrance in the first place, always laying close to the skin. What it does give is this delicious aura that you can smell all day. The key to getting it to last and getting a nice silage is to spray heavily. Very heavily. (I do sides of neck, décolletage, wrists, and a light misting on clothes.) Have no fear, this is not the type of perfume that will knock anyone out. Instead, you will just smell a soft fragrance surrounding you all day, only noticeable to those who come within your space.

As to the scent itself, after the peppery bergamot opening, I'm getting a woody, not creamy, sandalwood, which is throughout the fragrance from beginning to end; mandarin; cardamom; a dry, almost powdery vanilla; a smidgen of cinnamon; a little sweetness from the tonka; a little fruitiness from the peach and plum notes; and a soft, slightly powdery musk. Unlike other scents with incense, this doesn't hit you over the head with that note. It's extremely subtle. The floral notes weave in and out. All the notes compliment and work very well together in this scent.

Before I owned both, I imagined this was how Dolce Vita would smell from that perfume's note profile. It doesn't. Though they share a lot of notes, I actually prefer Desnuda over Dolce Vita. It doesn't have that distracting, sweaty armpits, cumin note to deal with. Best yet, you can usually pick up a bottle for under $20 bucks. If Desnuda were no longer in production I wouldn't hesitate to get a back-up. That's how much I love this scent. I hope they never stop making it.

meemee00

I love it, I haven't got anything like this in my stash. I blind bought this hoping to hit on a gem. It is rich and warm. I smell incense and sexiness. I don't have a nose to pick apart the elements that make up the scent but I am happy to find such an affordable warm luscious scent. There is some sweetness, not for very young innocent girls. I imagine this is for a sexy lady that knows what the sultan wants.

TillyWave

I know this sounds crazy, but I find Desnuda to be so gorgeous, so sexy, so well made, and so wonderful that it hurts my soul that it sells for pennies on the dollar! Isn't that insane? But I'm like offended on Desnuda's behalf that 100 mls of this perfume can be had for less than $25, or if you're not picky, less than $15 for a tester without a cap. Especially with all the crap perfume out there that sells for literally, LITERALLY 10x the price...It is just a sin and shows how great perfume doesn't have to cost a fortune.

What it does: Desnuda has tremendous longevity, moderate sillage, and follows a classical perfume period in progression. She is beautiful and interesting the entire time. She's not just some linear thing that fades out as the day goes on. Plus she just...acts a certain way, like you can smell her great with a few generous sprays, and yes those around you will detect your scent as well, but in a subtle, tantalizing way--more "come hither" and less "My perfume precedes me into the room."

And my God this is a sexy as hell perfume. A spicy, woody floral filled with fruit and musks. The top is fairly woody--a gorgeous blend of cardamom, cinnamon, and vanilla incense blended with peach--a rich ripe peach, more Mitsouko in nature, ripe peaches stewed in cinnamon and cardamom. The spices aren't overwhelming, they are rather sanded down in tone.

The bouquet of flowers arrives after the spices and incense: Lots of sweet mimosa, rose, iris and cyclamen. The flowers are on the sweeter side, and lean "white" in tone...they kind of weave in and out, at first I can smell the rose more, than with time I can smell the iris more. Desnuda has a beautifully blended bouquet of flowers for sure. Behind the flowers is this creamy musk, that later dries down into sandalwood heaven, still flanked by white flowers, musk, and a hint of peach. I love the cooler toned unlit vanilla incense note combined with the cardamom and cinnamon...

Seriously this is like "Take me to bed right now" perfume--something about the peach note, the sweet creamy flowers, and the soft spices. And the drydown is heavenly! I love wearing this after I shower before bed, I enjoy the top and middle notes a ton, and when I wake up, I get to bask in the powdery, creamy sandalwood.

I just have to laugh because I've smelled $300 perfumes that don't perform like this does, or have terrible synthetic copout drydowns...Desnuda was definitely love at first sniff, and I can't recommend this enough, especially for the ridiculously low price.

gtabasso

I don't find this spicy at all; cardamon and cinnamon are among the least prominent notes; this is first all about ripe vintage fruits and florals; peach, bergamot, pepper, light plum, tons of sandalwood, musk, tuberose, cyclamen, freesia, mimosa and osmanthus with some musk; very blended and complex

zind

This is unbelievably gorgeous!
A blind buy that has turned into one of my absolute favorites.

As mentioned a million times already this is soft, that is part of it's charm. I like perfumes with killer sillage, but I still enjoy this more than most of my sillagemonsters. It is so easy to wear and every morning I wake up after wearing this the day before I get whiffs of it still - usually nothing lasts on my dry skin, so the longevity of this is seriously impressive!

It is not as spicy as I expected, but enough to keep me satisfied (cardamom is my favorite note!). It is beautifully blended, all the notes together takes on a new life as one breathtaking and unique scent that is hard to describe. But I can say that I do notice a bit of the tuberose throughout and the peach gets pretty intense in the far, far drydown.

This is one of the few scents that seems to get stronger a while after application. If you find it very faint after spraying, do not worry, soon enough you'll catch lushious whiffs of it.

So, soooo good and highly recommended.
A total LOVE from me!

chloematilda

I bought this years ago when it had a little brush to apply it with. Honestly, I think I bought it more for the novelty of the brush applicator, but I ended up falling in love with the fragrance. Unfortunately, the applicator system meant it was easily contaminated, and it went off - and into the rubbish.

I found it again a few years ago in a spray format, and remembered how beautiful it was...and still is. It's a subtle, sensuous skin scent. It invites nuzzling, and makes me feel warm and cozy. This is not a BIG fragrance, it is complex, well balanced, perfectly blended and just as beautiful today as it was years ago. I just found it at the back of a cupboard, blew the dust off...and there it was again. Just as gorgeous and relevant today as it was all those years ago.

It's found it's way to the front of the cupboard - I'll be wearing this a lot - it doesn't give me a headache, has no sharp corners, and lasts for hours. Wear it close and invite someone you love to lean in for a sniff. I guarantee they'll want to know what you're wearing and will be heading for the shops. It's a good buy for a quality fragrance.

I love welcoming back old fragrance friends.

Petals_and_Perfumes

7/25/19 Top notes: Sicilian bergamot, blood mandarin orange, white peach, cardamom, pepper
Heart: tuberose, freesia, jasmine, iris, Chinese rose, cyclamen, plum.
Base: mimosa, sandalwood, cinnamon, vanilla, musk, osmanthus.

This is a scent I place in the category for nighttime use. This isn’t a scent for a daytime work or crowd situation. It’s rich, sensual, and mature. I can smells the flowers but they are powdery - like a body talc scent. I can also smell the vanilla and the plum brings another dimension - making it a sophisticated frag. A little goes a long way - if you OD on this, you will make others around you in your sillage circle wrinkle their noses and want to move away from you: less DEFINITELY means more. Allow this to bloom by the warmth of your skin - just as passion does 😉

Красив парфюм, имам обаче много, които да нося и един за размяна

ivadim

Sherine777

Very pleasant, feminine, soft and warm.
Reminds me of Carner Rima XI, as they both share a dominant Cardamom note.
The draw back like most have said is that it does turn into a skin scent rather quickly.

soniamcalear

The BEST EVER scent!!!!! It has a very faint aura of Moschino Spice but this juice is creamy and sweet which Moschino lacks. Moschino is BAM straight into your face type of Spicy Scent, Desnuda is a Beautiful Kitten Type of Perfume, not in your face type of scent at all. Just gentle and ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

Athena1000

This review is for the vintage Desnuda.Luv luv luv this frag. Been using it for about 5 years now. One of my goto favs, makes me feel sexy & cuddly, warm enveloping intimate lovely cloud of beautiful frag, makes me want to bathe in it.Bought several backup bottles after I discovered this frag, never want to be without! Like some perfume lovers, I am not good at dissecting notes in the frag, just general and how it makes me feel. To me, this is like a big soft bear hug, so goooood !!

AHeartLikeMine

Mildly spiced / woodsy. I'd say it's mostly sandalwood and spices/cinnamon, with a hint of vanilla. It's not terrible, but it's more mature than my usual style. It might be a good winter scent.

lularoelauriehicks

So lovely! Soft and cozy. Vanilla spice done right with a hint of soapiness on me. I wear this one for my own pleasure...I can smell it for 6 hours when applied to moisturized skin. It's just lovely! It is summer now and it's great, can't wait to wear it in cooler months as well.

MademoiselleMaya

If you can get it - do it! It's wonderful. Gentle but with a personality, spicy but soft, super feminine, not overwhelming but lasts good 6 hours. Love it ! :)

An inexpensive, long lasting and hugely underrated beautiful perfume. If you love Dune or even Shalimar in its drydown, this one is so much more affordable but equally as impressive without the nuclear start.

kriziaprincess

i have both reformulations, frag head that i am lol
same smell but the older one is stronger smell and last longer
this a creamy cosy cinnamon milk with chai. smells so much like curve crush but where curve is powdery this is spicy.

alexisx

It's a well balanced and very discrete day scent, to wear as a second skin. It smells of "good", but it's too evanescent. In the reformulation this scent does not last anything about me! A real shame because it was very nice!

Anne00

This funny! :-D I remember having a strong, oriental/floral perfume with a little brush applicator but I totally forgot the name! But I do remember where I was working back then and so I remember what year it was: 2001. I also remember it was just launched back then cause I bought it whilst being on one of my quests for a new perfume. But as usual, I already had the perfumes I liked at home. :-D So the lady from the perfume shop, someone I knew, gave me this newly launched fragrance with that little brush.

I emptied the bottle and I have some vague memories about the scent. , but I never re-purchased it. Not because I disliked it, I wouldn't have used the whole bottle then, but I remember being at work one day whilst wearing this perfume and suddenly realising that it wasn't really an office-friendly scent. :-D So I kinda frightenend myself and I guess I lowered my use of this until the bottle was empty and I forgot about it... .
But I remember that scent vague and I'd love to smell this again... .

wildangel72

This was a successful blind buy, naturally owed to Fragrantica. I'd never heard of this perfume, and just happened to stumble across it in one of those accidentally hours-long treks through If-you-like-this-you'll-like-this...and this, and this, and that...

And 26 this-and-thats later, I was picking up a mini of this on ebay to test. I got the one with the little nail polish brush, and loved it so much I went back in for a large bottle. I'm scared the spray might smell different, but I'm holding out hope.

This is a beautiful soft, feminine fragrance on me. It's not cloying, not heavy, not too powdery; it's fresh, clean, but not what I'd call light. This one is hard to describe, it's just...nice.

My first sample application held on for hours, but I'll admit that it may be due to the vintage. Older perfumes tend to get a little thick and sticky, giving them better staying power than their younger counterparts. The spritz bottle may prove more fleeting, as remains to be seen.

A bit light for winter, this little mini-gem will take its place among my favorite spring and fall scents. Edit: I take it back. The cinnamon and warmth in this worked just fine in winter weather. After several wears, I think it's actually better suited to fall and winter--warm, cozy, intimate. A new favorite.

rhaineclayton

Disappointing blind buy. I get the Dolce Vita comparisons once it dries down - but it doesn't have as much sparkle as DV.
Also, I find the opening a bit harsh.
Nothing special, sadly.

Lady Tessa

Again, another treasure for me! I saw the negative reviews as well as so many positive ones and this was a blind buy for me as the price was right to try it and it had all of the notes that I just really enjoy. I LOVE cinnamon fragrances, and I was looking for something quiet, soft, elegant, good for daytime wear but still sexy and ladylike all at the same time. That is Desnuda. She is bright and beautiful, warm, sexy and elegant and self confident enough to blossom quietly without needing to be the center of attention. This is not a sleepy, powdery scent. I don't detect much in the way of florals, but there is a bit of a soft fruit fragrance in the very beginning but quickly becomes a creamy warmth. This may well be my signature, but I think I need a bit more time and experience to find it.

scain54

Very, very nice! Dries down to warm floral, with delicious creamy sandalwood floating around it. Stays close to skin, but with wonderful longevity. Very similar to EL Sensuous, but at a fraction of the price. Definitely a winner, it was a blind buy and I am really happy with it. Yeah!

Southern Blonde

Wow this is such a great perfume. Like the rest of you I look at perfume categories (i.e. Floral Fruity, Fruity, Aquatic, etc) and then look into the notes that I love most. I order samples in vials if they're available or even take the risk of not liking the perfume and buying it blindly. I bought this blindly but it's a good blind buy. It smells so good. I second the opinion that it's sexy but not in a spread your legs sex bomb sort of way. It's feminine in it's soft and subtle touch. It's not called Naked for nothing. It's a freshly showered beautiful smelling skin scent on a woman. It has a nice fruity opening. I like the plum peach and mandarin orange. I would say however that it's not too fruity. On me the flowers take over. It's a soft powdery rose, a delicate freesia, a white floral jasmine with a slight maturity, and a vanilla scented mimosa. The dry down on me was mostly cinnamon and vanilla. It's hard to classify this one. It's essentially a fruity floral but it's also a bit of a gourmand, or gourmand floral. It reminds me of Poeme by Lancôme and Classique by Gaultier. This is clearly just for women because it smells of every thing sexy about women. It's great to spritz on after a shower in the morning or just before bed to soothe you to sleep. It matches up with lingerie so you can spritz this lightly on lingerie - nighties, baby doll nighties. This is sexy and sweet girly and fun. It's also very reminiscent of the Victoria Secret Angels perfumes, not any one in particular but like a combination of all of them and the way they smell: lightly spicy, gourmand ish vanilla cinnamon and flowers. Lovely.

Fragrance Review For Desnuda By Ungaro

Top Notes: Tuberose Mandarin Pepper Bergamot Peach Cardamom

Middle Notes: Cyclamen Iris Plum Rose Freesia Jasmine

Base Notes: Mimosa Sandalwood Tonka Cinnamon Musk Vanilla Osmanthus

Desnuda is Spanish for nude. So you'd think this is the kind of fragrance you put on while you're nude to get your lover into bed right? Wrong. This is a skin scent so it's meant to evoke the sexy scent of fresh nude skin on a young woman. They do a fine job but it literally sits on your skin and only if your lover is kissing you or putting his nose to wherever you applied the perfume, he'll know you're wearing it. Otherwise there's no way anyone can smell this on you. It's tame and sweet, feminine and soft. The tuberose is asleep. This is the most invisible tuberose of all time. On me the fruity-floral notes were there: mandarin, peach, plum, freesia, jasmine, rose, iris and mimosa. There were some spicy notes as well: some pepper and cardamom and cinnamon, all which sort of reminded me of Classique by Gaultier. This has a powdery sweet deliciousness. It smells of vanilla after the fruit and flowers subside. Very simple, easy to wear, and something to wear with lingerie to bed. Or naked to bed. Desnuda to bed.

mirisfrik

Desnuda is very shy lady, but it is worth dealing with, because it has such a lovely, flowery smell. Like you found a secret garden of finest flowers.
I reminds me of Dior's Dolce Vite, just a little lighter.

Ingelkorgepingel

Ostsin ka selle lõhna suurte ootustega.Pidi lõhnama nagu värske küpsetatud kaneeli sai.No kes sellisest kirjeldusest suudaks loobuda.Aga ei.Mitte midagi sellist.
Mul olid niiiii suured lootused sellele lõhnale.

Dec. 2015: I have vintage bottle with brush applicator. Combo suggestion: Desnuda with Bvlgari Thé Blanc. They layer seamlessly. Individually, both are very light, but together they support each other very well. Both are classics. I'm grateful I have a second NIB vintage Desnuda. A little of Desnuda goes a long way with me, so I should be good for another 10 years. Very versatile. And now this combo has given me an entirely new fragrance!!! Very feminine scent you can wear just about anywhere, anytime.

Corinne39

Gorgeous! At first I get freshly baked gingerbread and then the cinnamon & vanilla come through. I have the body lotion too, which on it's own is barely there, but when the perfume is layered over the top, it's wonderful and extends the "life" of Desnuda a little bit longer..and that would be my only problem with this perfume, it doesn't last long enough, on me at least!

Charliebrave

This is such an oldie but a goodie . On my skin with my body chemistry (we are all different) this perfume is warm , it's sweet , creamy, hints of Diors dolce vita . I love it

pyttlc

Just saw a French cartoon named "Le Magasin des Suicides"(the suicide store). One of the impressing scene is the sister danced along with a Arabic music. She danced in nude. Well i suggest her put on this perfume!

Some says it's similar to Dolce Vita of Dior. Yes,indeed.Warm and sexy. For me the theme is cinnamon, peach and mimosa. It's close to skin and put on some right after shower. Very charming. Sillage is good and longevity is 6-8 hours.

It's not unique but still worth buying.

likes2paint

I really like this, but wish it would last longer. It seems as if one whiff and it's gone! Good job I bought a big bottle.

perfumeaddiction

Absolutely gorgeous!!!! Thanks to my swap partner I got to try this beautiful little number. Ok I am reviewing the current formulation in spray form not the brush on version. This is absolutely fabulous. It is spicy and I do smell cinnamon very strongly as do I smell other spices. It is so gorgeous. This is not old or dated smelling and it just smells so comforting to my nose. Not heavy or cloying. I would love to get my hands on the vintage version now. All in all I am incredibly pleased with this beautiful fragrance. I think it might be signature scent worthy.

marija.Šorša

Beautiful scent,reminds me
of Kenzo Jungle L'Elephant...

This perfume (the original with the little brush) is literally sweet, in a truly edible way. It smells like some sort of warm butter, vanilla, caramel sauce for apple pies and ice creams. And yet there's also something floral, like a turkish delight, a lukum - but i can't tell if it's the rose...

A wonderful perfume for gourmand lovers, but also for those who love deep, warm, sweet perfumes!

Sherihan

They pioneered the "brush on perfume", this method will be the perfume world fad the coming days

libless

Well blended. So much so, that I really can't single out one ingredient over another, not even the mimosa. You can tell its there, it just doesn't over power anything else. Softly spicy. Creamy without being overly powdery. Very soft musk. Hint of Cinnamon. Hint of Cardamon. Hint of Vanilla. Feminine with a "barely there" masculine undertone. The silage is very light....unless you are active. The more active you are, the more others can smell it. It is best in the summer. I love it.

HeidiLynn

On my skin, this is a very faint skin scent. It has virtually no sillage--I press my nose against my wrist and can smell it, but otherwise not. And this is on freshly moisturized skin!

What I do smell IS very sensual. It is a faint cinnamon-vanilla scent, with the fleshy-spiciness of the cardamom and a hint of peaches (more like putting your nose up to the skin of a ripe peach, not like biting into a juicy peach; it's just a hint of fuzzy peachness), and maybe the faintest touch of plum. If there were such a thing as a "pastel scent", this would be it. I almost have to wonder if somehow I'm anosmic to the musky base of this? I am anosmic to some musks, and the fact that I really hardly smell this at all is so odd.

I only have a decant (Fragrantican generosity strikes again), and I'm glad I was able to try this before buying a full bottle, as a full bottle would not be worth it for such a faint scent despite the lovely composition of notes.

lirael00

Desnuda is yummy and most of all a very intimate fragrance. It lasts long but sits close to your skin, so only people hugging you will be able to detect it. I've bought a big bottle just based on the reviews, cause I wanted something different. And this is a very good different! It's such a crispy fragrance. It's cinnamon all over. The opening is a bit spicy but then it settles into a warm cinnamon-vanilla scent. It's very sensual. If you're a cinnamon lover go get it!

Lavallectra

On me Desnuda is a complete skin scent without much sillage at any point... So I guess it suits its name. This would be nice to wear on winter days, I get a warm, light, spicy cinnamon scent that reminds me of spiced xmas drinks :)

anitaoolong

Can the way you apply perfume make a difference to the scent?
This was a blind buy for me a few months ago. My first tests were a single spray directly onto my skin. I was overwhelmed by the cardamon and put it aside for later.
I've retested this one today with a spray and walk through. Seems crazy for something that's already a low sillage skin scent, but now I'm getting a more rounded fragrance.
I get less of the cardamon opening, more vanilla and soft peach. In the drydown I get faint floral coming through. Soft and pretty. I'm glad I gave it another chance as I'm enjoying the fragrance more this time around.

nadzieja

Sensual "oily" skin fragrance, very spicy and warm. Long time ago I got a sample, which I liked, but never purchased whole bottle. Lately I was looking for a new perfume, tried Dolce Vita which brought memories of Desnuda. For me Desnuda is a better version of DV, less sweet and dull, more subtle and intiguing. Only pity is the strenght, wish it had more sillage.

Martaynd

I have vintage, brush applicator bottle. Beautiful, soft, lovely, feminine in every way. Not pretentious. I wear it to bed or on dress up days. Brings to mind warm summer days and relaxation. But I'll wear her any season. Stays true to scent and lasts all day. I wear Desnuda for ME. As long as I can smell it, I don't care if anyone else does. Some perfumes you want to project. I agree with those that describe it as a "skin scent".

Taliera

I always strive to get unique perfumes and I think that this is one of them. Of course, it reminded me of other perfumes - Dune, Pure Poison, Dior Addict, Bulgari Pour Femme, Rose Esential, Rochas Femme, Eternity, Contradiction - but not to the point where I could say it was a dead ringer, or even remotely close to any of them.

When I first smelt Desnuda, I got a blast of rose (Bulgari style), fruits (peach was most noticeable) and spices (I detected cardamon and pepper). Shortly after this arrives the musk, in all its glory. Then comes tonka bean, sandalwood and vanilla. The base is what reminded me of some heavier perfumes, in particular Dior Addict and Pure Poison.

Overall the scent is soft, warm and complex. It has a weak sillage, and the lasting power's not that great - but you either accept it as a skin scent, or load so much of it on that people are forced to notice.

There is great complexity with this scent, which I think revolves around a "power struggle" between the main accords: 1.) uplifting scents (rose and peach), 2.) spicy scents, and 3.) heavy scents (particularly musk). I could also swear there is something salty included. It is due to this bizarre love triangle that I am reminded of Dior's Dune. There is the same playful tugging of different accords. Though I am not a Dune fan, I find Desnuda more accessible.

Finally, I would like to say that wearing Desnuda is a very pleasurable experience. Despite the lower price and lack of conspicuous advertising, I consider the quality of the composition to be close to, or equal that of Dior's best...

Kiku

I had never heard of "Desnuda" until an ebay seller included a sample as a thank you. I was so impressed with the perfume I immediately ordered a bottle. Perhaps I should have waited a bit. This fragrance has a dual personality. I have never experienced another scent that changes so much between opening and drydown. Desnuda begins like a classic oriental: warm and sweet and laden with vanilla, spices, and oranges. It is remarkably like vintage Chantilly. After a few hours it turns into a floral blend dominated by roses and lavender. The effect is disconcerting if your mood does not change with it. The main characteristic of this perfume is its smoothness. It is creamy and so silky it envelopes you. If you like a fragrance that is close to the skin, this is the one.

SouthernLady

This is a beautiful scent. I will agree with everyone that this is definitely a skin scent and I do prefer more sillage. It's so warm and softly spicy smelling and I plan to try this out as a "love potion" when I see my boyfriend this weekend ;)

Update: my boyfriend's reaction when he smelled this on my skin? And I quote, "Oh...WOW..."

I seem to remember reading somewhere years ago, that cinnamon is a huge turn-on scent for men. Desnuda does seem very cinnamon-forward to me & it keeps that warm spicy-ness through to the end. LOVE this scent!

PLUMPIE

A disaster in a bottle, terrible fake peach mixed with cloying nailpolish acetone nuances.

twillocks

I received my sample today and I love it. I don't smell peach though.

MsMaryO

Desnuda is a great "skin" scent. It's warm and soft, starts off spicy and then ends up sweet. It's got only moderate sillage in the first 30 minutes or so. After that if you want someone to notice you, you're gonna have to hug them, or maybe get them to bite your neck! It stays so close to the skin, even you will have to sniff yourself closely to even smell it.

I love it, but I find the "zero" sillage to be a little annoying. I want to smell it, and while I don't want to knock others out, I want them to smell it, too!

I added a little Rochas Tocade to Desnuda in a sample vial in an effort to copy my beloved Sotto Voce by Laura Biagotti. I see a similarity, but it's not really working for me. I will say that Desnuda by itself is reminiscent of Sotto Voce, though not a "smell-alike" by any means. And that is a BIG compliment!!

Edited to add: Sometimes, you don't need to stand out and make everyone around you smell your perfume. Sometimes, you need to sit and bask in your own sweet cloud, knowing that you smell awesome, and that's enough. I've grown to really love Desnuda. It's quiet but so comfortable and pretty. It's quite alright that the only compliment I've gotten was when I had someone standing directly over me in my cubicle. I always appreciate that, "Man, you smell good" compliment, especially coming from the opposite sex.

olga1780

This is such a beautiful and elegant fragrance! I cannot detect absolutely anything dusty, heavy, or chemical about it. It is warm and moderately spicy...a perfect balance of notes. To my nose it is more original than a lot of overadvertised and overused fragrances on the market.
Moderate sillage and great lasting power: still can smell it 7 hours later.
A keeper!

Action

This perfume is one of the few Ungaro's that do not really work for me. It is a typical DUSTY perfume in my opinion.

Doc Elly

Surprisingly soft and smooth for a commercial perfume, with a floral mix that’s not too floral, fruit that’s not too fruity, a vanilla base, and what I could swear is little leather right there in the top notes. I get next to nothing in the way of spices or sandalwood.

The flowers are a generic mix, but not the usual generic floral suspects. Instead, they’re more delicate, influenced by the whispering osmanthus and powdery mimosa rather than screaming white florals or lily-of-the valley. The fruit isn’t the usual Skittles-flavored shampoo note, either. It’s a more subtle and sensuous peach-plum-sweet citrus combination vaguely reminiscent of Rochas Femme. To me, the impression is of a soft suede garment that’s been well worn, absorbing traces of all of the wearer’s different perfumes over the years.

It’s a perfume that feels comfortable and familiar, one that doesn’t shout for attention, but makes its presence known. In the end, it dries down to a generic vanilla-musk scent. Sillage is moderate, although I would characterize this as mainly a skin scent. It lasts at least 6-7 hours on both skin and clothing. Desnuda is not highly original, but then, how many perfumes really are, including those that cost many times what Desnuda does?

19. january 2011

I bought it without knowing (remembering) how it smells like and very first impression was negative: "This is pure pepper spray", but THEN... it becomes incredibly soft and melts with your skin. Pepper doesn´t go away, but all the cardamon and flowers come to the front and it makes my soul sing!
Very intimate fragrance indeed, the name is absolutly right for it! You have to smell it really close on your skin to feel it, that´s why i think it is very intimate. I will try to wear it for some intimate moments.
The brush is really interesting accsessory, but i wouldn´t recommend to put it on with a brush, as it is a truly waste of a fragrance (unless you have 5-6 bottles stocked up).

Gave to try it to my friend and she instantly liked it! She went nuts for this one. And so my other friend! And her mother! Now there are 4 of us at least who love it, but only me who has it :))

The review is for original formula with brush, not the modern one, which is very true to the original formula, though lacks that soft side of the "nakediness" of original.

RkrChk

Looks like the majority has it when they called Desnuda [and I paraphrase] forgettable & having poor sillage...I totally agree--I'm glad I bought a mini...

sherapop

Emanuel Ungaro DESNUDA is a rather nondescript oriental woody to my nose. The florals do not stand out as individual notes at all; what I mainly smell is a creamy mixture of ever-so lightly cardamom and vanilla-scented sandalwood dusted with a barely perceptible touch of cinnamon.

Clearly intended as a "skin scent", DESNUDA is pleasant enough, but not very memorable. This quasi-linear fragrance has low sillage and poor staying power. If I had a bottle, I'd wear it now and then, but I won't buy one. There are too many other more compelling fragrances out there, including skin scents with excellent longevity...

Sissi

The vanilla predominates the scent then
the drydown has a bit of fruit spicy
yes i think the the iris and pepper is responsible for the spicy drying.
i can pick up coconut and a bit of amber. the scent fits the name and color of a nude beige if i think of a
color and pair that with a perfume
this will be perfect.

ojosverdes

My mom has this one it smells nice the only problem is that the staying power is zero. The lotion is weak too it doesn't seem to belong to this perfume.

rithacha

Ohh my. Mushy, rotten, bottom-of-the-fruit-basket plums.

There you have your pitted fruits, plum and peach. There you have your smooth tuberose. There you have your perfunctory oriental spices. Fine.

But what's this? Something veritably CURDLES those elements. Pepper? Citrus? Mimosa? I have no idea. But something smells grey, moldy, and wormy . . . stale, medicinal, bitter.

Luckily after two hours the rotten chemical smell disappears and leaves a remotely sweet, vanilliac, perfumey floral. Still a tad musty, but really enjoyable. Not worth the wait, though imo.

I would never mistake this for any other scent.

c3c

Cardamom is definitely dominant in the opening notes, it's a bit off putting, but if you wait a bit very quickly the mandarin and vanilla begin to take over. I can't pick out the florals listed, in fact it's as if they aren't even there. The citrus vanilla notes are pleasant for a bit and then it slides into a very light blend of sandalwood & cinnamon ruled by vanilla with the slightest hint of citrus & cardamom remaining. And that's where it stays for me. Long lasting and warm.

Sassy1

My 1st impression is too much pepper and cardamom. It isn't pretty, but odd, verging on medicinal. I love tuberose but it doesn't come through at all. Slowly some of the plum and fressia show up and the cinnamon/vanilla combination is very nice. All in, I like the middle and base notes but the top needs some tweaking before I'll buy a bottle.

allexa27

I was expecting soemthing mmore after reading the ingredients, but it is totall disapointment !!It is very spicy at the beggining ,than settles down and nothing special....doesnt give me any emotions ...it is not unique at all

Aeternitas

At first it is spicy and somewhat strong, almost very chemical smelling like a room spray or disinfectant. Then it settles directly into a skin scent. Unfortunately I don't like skin scents much, I prefer fragrances to stand out. I get some cinnamon and vanilla with a lot of plum. It's very feminine and soft, and unique, but not enough to be different.
