Lost Cherry by Tom Ford is a Amber Floral fragrance for women and men. Lost Cherry was launched in 2018. The nose behind this fragrance is Louise Turner. Top notes are Bitter Almond, Black Cherry and Cherry Liqueur; middle notes are Sour Cherry, Plum, Turkish Rose and Jasmine Sambac; base notes are Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Cinnamon, Peru Balsam, Benzoin, Sandalwood, Cloves, Cedar, Patchouli and Vetiver.

"Tom Ford Lost Cherry is a full-bodied journey into the once-forbidden; a contrasting scent that reveals a tempting dichotomy of playful, candy-like gleam on the outside and luscious flesh on the inside.

Innocence intersects indulgence with an opening that captures the classic perfection of the exotic cherry fruit–Black Cherry's ripe flesh dripping in cherry liqueur glistens with a teasing touch of Bitter Almond.

The heart bursts forth in cherry waves of sweet and tart. Griotte Syrup expresses the textured maceration of voluptuous fruits while breathtaking florals Turkish Rose and Jasmine Sambac penetrate the senses and soul.

Peru Balsam and Roasted Tonka at the drydown suggest a new portrait of an iconic symbol. When blended with an unexpected melange of sandalwood, vetiver and cedar, the finish reaches fantasy-inspiring levels of insatiability."

Top notes: black cherry, cherry liquer, bitter almonds
Heart notes: Griotte syrup, Turkish rose, jasmine Sambac
Base notes: Peru balm, roasted tonka beans, sandalwood, vetiver, cedar

Tom Ford Lost Cherry will be available from November 2018 as 50ml Eau de Parfum and 250ml Eau de Parfum.

Incredibly strong, rich, amaretto and cherry liqueur opening, which for five minutes is truly glorious and breathtaking, then suddenly (wet fart noise) poofs into oblivion, leaving a pleasant odour of black cherry yoghurt on the skin that nobody will smell, including you unless you shove your nose into it.
It actually shocks me every time that it opens so grandly, then falls flat so quickly.

StarA2

Cherry-flavored cough medicine.

ilovesarcasticbrunettes

you got ill. you went to the hospital and the doctor charged you hundreds for a bottle of gooey cough syrup. before you could say a word they shoved the whole thing right down your throat. they seem to do this very often, as they swiftly offered a sweet treat for psychological damage compensation afterwards, which unsurprisingly was a cheap artificial cherry lollipop from the dollar store. you recovered at once after you took the medicine, and the taste only lingered for a few minutes. somehow you can’t tell if it’s a good thing or not.

TheFraganist55

Considering this fragrance is as simple as deciding whether or not you enjoy the smell of cherries. Because it smells like cherries, what a surprise.

beautynerd

I always wanted to smell like cherry coke. I finally found the scent that gives me the pleasure of smelling like my favorite soda drink. It’s not childish or cloying- which is what I expected- but, what I got was a soft sparkling realistic cherry note, dusted with a lovely sandalwood, tonka bean and bitter almond, and smoothly blended with florals and spices. What a perfect scent for someone who loves gourmands and can pull off the vibe of pretty, sexy and cute all at once.

thr33stars

it smells annoying

0xrafae

If you like to smell like cherry, buy this perfume. In any other case, don't buy this perfume, otherwise, you will smell like cherry, and you don't like it, do you?

Yuyulia

Smells like Dr.Pepper drink or cola mixed with disaronno, poor longevity

FragranceSigma

Smells like cherry sauce for the danish dish "risalamande"

NorthBlue

An absolutely gorgeous smell. My goodness. I constantly have a back up bottle just in case. I love this smell so much and the dry down is just as amazing.

Antoshka2

For the price I expected it to be so much better than the cheap “Lush Cherry” copy but it just isn’t, it performs worse and I now feel like an absolute mug for spending that much money on a Tom Ford bottle. Really disappointed.

rosierpunk

Bitter almond, cherry syrup, and tonka bean.

Initially, it is a blast of cherry pie followed by bitter almond and nutty notes, along with tonka bean and woods in the dry down.
Best worn in fall however I could see this being year round. I've definitely recieved compliments on this on how almost boozy and sexy it smelled.
It is a fem leaning fragrance, but I could see this being unisex!

This is a good daily wear, and does not smell artificial or like chemicals
downside is that it lasted about 4 hrs on me at most, and to be very honest at this price point I expected MUCH better longevity.

Overall, if it's in your price range I think it's worth a try!

sillybobilly

I honestly love the artificial cherry smell this perfume has, it smells like the original cherry chapstick or like a generic cherry lollipop. If you want a realistic cherry fragrance this sadly isn’t your guy, though even for the fake cherry smell enthusiasts like myself this doesn’t last in the slightest. I loved the smell of the fragrance and the worker hosed me down in the stuff. First 20 minutes I left the store I had the test paper that I could smell and she sprayed it on my skin, all was fine and dandy. Come not even 2 hours later and it's gone, I couldn’t even smell traces of it. Incredibly disappointing considering the price of this fragrance, I would expect stellar performance at this price tag but this fragrance is anything but that. Other fragrances in the line like tobacco vanille actually last so if you’re gonna buy anything from the line let it be one actually worth your money. Nostalgia factor goes crazy on this though

pennyblue32

literally smells like play dough

Ethan12345

I dont like this fragrance at all as it smells like the taste of a cherry chupa chops which just makes me nauseous

Danimcc90

Really vile I wouldn’t buy this if it was £10 for the whole bottle 😅😬

smouhammad452

Opening with vibrant cherry, sour candy, and a warm, sweet nuttiness reminiscent of bodacious, this fragrance captivates from the start. As it settles, the same notes persist but with a more subtle presence. Overall, it's a delightful balance of sour and sweet, making it perfect for everyday wear. Among my favorites from the Tom Ford line, I'd rate it 9.5 out of 10!

_hypnotic_

Can someone recommend me a little more masculine cherry? (send me a message, not a comment here) thank you 😊 I like the cherry note but this is feminine.

24sleep

easily my fav fragrance ever <3

doesn’t smell like chemicals like a lot of ppl said, +great performance.,

FirstSense

Utterly overpriced, sexy, sweet, dark, chemical, dubbel faced, intriguing, wonderful, long lasting, crazy, horrible, delicious milestone in perfumery.

sarahlage

On me, this fragrance smells medicinal, so it definitely wouldn't get me any compliments. But I can see how it would be wonderful for others, so I won't discourage folks from buying it. Definitely not a safe blind buy, though– in my opinion!

Zb21

It is an absolute legend and the projection is crazyyy

edw57553

at first I thgout it is going to be an other very sweet fruty fragrance, after tring it, It is not how i thgout it is deffrint fruty fragrance it is fruty suiry, I have never milled any fragrance like this, great work

TonyG

Tom Ford does it again.....makes an absolutely exorbitantly priced fragrance that is incredibly overdesigned, pompous and underwhelming. This legit smells like cherry strepsils. And TF has the utter cheek to charge almost $400 for a bottle of it. GTFOH. Tom Ford is the most overrated house in all of fragrance. I haven't smelled one fragrance of theirs that I actually liked let alone loved. In fact a few have actually made me gag and given me an instant headache (Black Orchid I'm talking to you). The only reason they are popular is due to marketing and people thinking they'll seem cool by buying overpriced crap with a name.

arupkumar

The top notes are sexy with the Turkish rose, though cherry scents are not for everyone the dry down with the base notes makes you think of pretty woman working at a perfume counter.

I too as a man have worn it and base is truly a special blend. Tom Ford scents have some of the best dry downs and this one does not disappoint.

If this is what you like you'll love it.

elenagr22

Best cherry scent out there! Deep, sexy, sweet and a compliment getter. I dont know what others are saying but this is signature scent worthy PERIOD

jmichelleruggieri

Wow yuck, I smelled this in-store and I had to keep my face from making a nasty expression. I don't know what this is, but it smelled gross, plastic-y, and so strong.

Lunara

I didint like it at all. I am glad that I got to sample this before blind buying it. Its synthetic, too sweet and gives me nausea. Didint get the hype and a price for this is insane.

crisacsv

This is the worst perfume I’ve ever smelled in my life. It immediately gave me a horrendous nauseating feeling and headache. It smells overly synthetic and strange. I I get that perfume is personal but this is just on another level of weirdness, I really don’t get it. I am happy that I’ve tried it, as I was about to blind buy it 😂🤭

Chloepeeters

I really love this perfume. Have owned it for a couple of months now. Initially when I spray it it is almost headache inducing and I get a screechy sour cherry note. Within about 10 seconds that goes away and turns into a soft cherry Bakewell scent and projects well for 3 hours MAX on me. Within 4 hours I can't even smell it on my skin🫣 I wouldn't say its worth the price point, I have a 100ml bottle and it costs £300! For this price Id expect better silage and longevity. I get better from my £23 Zara dupe (Cherry smoothie). I don't think I would repurchase this based on these factors...

poodleParty

I smelled Jergen cherry almond body lotion today...and it really reminded me of this. Obviously LC smells way better and more expensive, but just sayin...I think it's overhyped. I'm not saying that it smells bad (it's quite good actually), but all these influencers need to chill out when it comes to promoting stuff.

thatbitch

Definitely an overrated perfume. Cherry cherry cherry... After a while I almost v*mited. Zero longevity, zero sillage. It gets close to the skin immediately. HARD PASS. thank u, next!

Nova789K!

A beautiful elixir. A true classic. Not a big fruit fan, but this is great. Too great and beautiful.

cyclone1391

I owned the OG and have tried several dupes. This scent is an aphrodisiac to me but my husband thinks it's too masculine. Thus I decluttered my OG bottle and now own a Miim Miic dupe of this, #79, and the dupe is 99% similar and was $10 on clearance at Marshall's.

gutsnglory

magnificent cherry scent.
when spraying, it is very strong and chemical at first but settles into an enriched cherry juice.
surprisingly makes me smell freshly showered. the floral notes are fresh and not overpowered at all. they really made the cherry liquor scent smell clean (at least on my skin)
also the scent story is interesting and i really like the conceptual work. lost innocence and all.
the downside is its longevity is short.

Jumali

I really adore this perfume, but unfortunately, its scent fades too quickly for my liking.
It's frustrating because I wear perfume for my own enjoyment, not just for others to notice.
I love how it smells, especially the cherry liquor and marzipan notes, but it seems to dissipate in less than 30 minutes on me. However, others seem to notice it for 3-4 hours.
I'd suggest trying Lovely Cherie from a Saudi Arabian perfumer. It's a great alternative, lasts longer, and is more affordable at around £50 for 100ml. That's actually what I'm wearing now, and it smells just as good as the original.
In my opinion, Tom Ford perfumes are just too overpriced.

maddieonline

I have always disliked Tom Ford fragrances and that distinctive Tom Ford DNA. However, today I decided to re-try several and actually quite liked this. It's what it says on the tin - a really strong cherry perfume. I don't get any other notes, not even in the dry down, it is literally cherry through and through. It isn't an amaretto-like cherry but more the vibe of biting into a fresh cherry. The projection and longevity are strong, I don't think I'd purchase a bottle as being around Tom Ford fragrances for too long tends to give me a headache but if you're after a good cherry fragrance this is the one for you.

Ceila88

Concept of smoke and cherry is so negative to my nose and olfactive memory .. smells like a smokers breathe who just had a fruity bubblegum to cover the cigerette smell

maolana

When first sprayed, there is a pricking sensation in the nose, indeed this perfume has balsamic notes. The rest only reminds me of Al-Rehab Dalal with a hint of subtle cherry scent. Its performance is somewhat lacking. Not recommended for those who live in tropical or even hotter area, except for indoor wearing only, with AC, of course.

Manda88

In a sea of cherry fragrances, this one still reigns supreme. But with this price tag, I expect a happy ending…or at least more than a two-hour wear.

civxrlys

opening is bitter liquor with bitter cherry. but dry down gets sweeter nice cherry vanilla almond scent. unique, alluring and sexy scent but i think its feminine. the cherry note stays which is nice but i dont think its suitable for daytime use. its nice and unique but its overpriced.

Paynight

It costs like 500 dollars in my place so i think for that price i expect golden perfume.

But aside from that , it smell like cooked cherry not fresh one . Just like bitter peach . Both are like jams not fresh fruit.

vya

honestly when i tried this perfume on my skin it was instant love. i need this perfume so bad but there’s no reason why a 50ml bottle should be over $200??? can’t deny it’s one of the best perfumes ever to me. not the most original scent but so so good. i hope someone buys me it as a gift ngl

Neil0099

Boozy cherry liquor with almond. Lovely. The best cherry perfume that exists

Domenica

I’ve worn both Lost Cherry and Kayali’s Burning Cherry and find them almost identical: sweet, creamy, nutty, marzipany almond scents. If I smell Lost Cherry on my wrist I almost get a fruity note, and there’s a woody spice that I couldn’t place until I read the comment below about By The Fireplace. I love spice and wish the cinnamon and clove was more prominent. As it is it’s a pleasant gourmand but nothing special and absolutely not worth the price.

contristo

the first time I tried this I thought I was being pranked. It’s just cherry extract? I used to use almond and cherry extracts for baking as perfumes as a kid, and this is just that but for hundreds of dollars. Lasted so short on me too. Glad I didn’t save up to blind buy the full size like I almost did! I’m glad y’all love her though, I hope to find my perfect cherry scent one day too

tirafriden

Best cherry perfume yet, I prefer Lost cherry to other Tom Ford's cherries. Very sweet, deep sugared cherry with almond notes, it is spicy, almost with a hint of cognac and some vanilla-like coat. It lasts long, but it wears perfect - I never get any headaches from it. The only downside is that it is expensive, but I really love it.

jarroditshallbe

First Spray is a kaboom of straight up hot plump lipped, and a hot cheeked cherry. It radiates warmth from the skin. A touch of grape tart orbits the outer curves. Sugared cinnamon may have been dashed into the concoction but doesn't solidify the texture or add the "dusty" aspect one may correlate to it. It is incredibly dense. The cinnamon is a fleeting endeavor, vanishing as quickly as the innocence of this cherry.

Cherry in fragrance may be thought of, usually, as an overly fruity, juicy, too youthful note. Something purchased at bath and body works or Rue 21. That is NOT what is here. The effect is almost purposefully lying to you. That inviting innocence doesn't last long. It lured you in with sweet flirting but quickly you are in deeper than you thought.

Sticking with the name, this "cherry" is not to be lost here, but was quite gone by the time you arrived. It heats up, and doesn't go hyper sweet, and instead veers into a tart cherry being tugged on by the sticky almond note. At the stage is very viscous and sticky, like a trap laid that once it has you, relaxes its grip and lets you swim in its boozy warmth.

About 15 minutes in, I'm hit by the tonka, and I am all about it. Amaretto  and cherries with the richness of tonka. The separation of the notes are more interesting to me here than how they work together.  As if the cherry (youthful lust and naivety) is impervious to being pulled down by the heavier notes of the tonka (Sex's emotional ramifications, or you know, just life.)

I'll continue reaching, so stretch with me. Let's not be naive and act like we know what Tom Ford does with names.  Yes its provactive, but it is not called "Losing Cherry" or "Popped Cherry," here it is already gone, but not so far removed from thought.  The innocence of its opening speaks to what once was.  Its fun, its flirty. It understands its sexiness, knows you are interested, and knows not to give you all its secrets right away. It likes the thought of you lusting after it, and pretends briefly that you are the hunter. Then it spread eagles, I mean swan dives into the lust.  You toss a little liquor into the mix of youthful longing (as I imagine happened to most of us) and that cherry is lost.

The fragrance gets deeper, it get hot breathier?  and closer to the skin. it makes me think of too much lip gloss trapped amidst car sex with the windows up. I can imagine getting in this vehicle afterward and thinking "Did Prince fuck in here?"  Now, I'm not sure what that means, but I'm still fine with driving the car.

Relate this to my lack of fragrance experience, but I have nothing else in my Rolodex this smells like.  The rose note texture gives you a hint at what's coming with Rose Prick, and the heft and feel of the tonka note puts me in the same space as Chanel Allure Sport Extreme's dry down.  BUT, neither of those smell like Lost Cherry, only those small sections, it's just the closest I can get.

This date started with a cherry vanilla slushie before prom, gets spiked with grenadine and amaretto about halfway through "Best Friends Girl," by The Cars, and ends "spilled" on a fur rug at the after party in your rich friends parents guest room. Yes, this all happens in high school, but like, TV high school where all the actors are mid 20s.

All that said, I love this fragrance. It is perfectly unisex and all innuendo aside, is lovely from top to bottom. Ok. Still a little innuendo.

sntiago

The O.G., the icon, can't do it like her.
I get cherry wine, liquor and cinnamon on a balsamic patchouli base up close(nose pressed against skin). Very sour but in a good way. From a small distance it radiates the fruity plummy-cherry and almond, glued together by a faint rose. It all lays on a very bitter/woody/balsamic/earthy - tldr heavy spicy base. It reads very mature. This perfume started my fragrance journey.
It's a very complex scents and changes beautifully throughout the entire hour and a half that it lasts.
It's clearly unisex and not sweet despite the fruits and vanilla.

The Kayali Lovefest dupe, the most popular one locally, is a lot younger, juicier and sweeter. There's none of that heavy complex base. But - it radiates the same fruity cherry almond scent from afar.

I love this perfume for its spicy cherry and booze and sexyness, but I think its too mature for me. Its made for a very sexy 40-something woman and sits close to skin as to not offend anyone during business meetings and to not catch the attention of any men in the bar she's sitting in with her girlfriends, celebrating her divorce from her useless husband - she's had enough of men. I'll finish my bottle and maybe I'll come back to it one day.

Guitar 2016

It is a Great Fragrance ! Modern, Elegant, Classy, luxurious, Sweet, Spicy and Unique. I bought it blind-buy as a Gift for my wife after I read positive comments and l watched reviews on YouTube. In my opinion, Lost Cherry is more Feminine and suitable for Women. It opens up with sweet cherry, bitter almond, floral and fruity notes in the background then dry down is sweet warm spicy, balsamic, vanilla and woody. It smells similar to cherry liqueur chocolate. My wife loves it, she told me, This is very pleasant and Unique scent. Longevity is good.
Highly Recommended.
Thumbs Up.

Fresh Garbage

Overpriced but overall definitely a killer scent.
I payed $250 for an 80ml bottle and I don’t regret it one bit. I’ve heard Oakcha has a good dupe (but I’m not 100% sure that’s true).
I’m a 19 yr old boy and usually lean towards more masculine scents, but wear it on my lazy days when I’m feeling down or tired. It’s a very comforting scent that reminds you of winter, turning any memory you’re reminiscing on while wearing it grey and pallid blue. It might be just me but it kinda feels like a hug from my mom, very cozy, motherly, and nostalgic. I’m a little embarrassed to admit it, but I spray it on my pillows before I go to bed just for the comforting factor.
It has a classic sweet perfume-ey smell, but an undeniable unique factor that comes from the cherry and bitter almond notes. Bitter almond is mostly what I pick up on when wearing this.
Longevity sucks ass tbh (I’ve noticed it lasts longer on clothes) but the silage is OK, could be better.

communist

Cherry, honey, aged rum, and amaretto.

Isabella Therese

The medicine comments have to be an American thing. We don't have any medicines in my country that smell or taste like cherries, so I don't get any medicinal vibes from this fragrance. Lost Cherry is a juicy, rich, boozy, sweet cherry liqueur with a woody vanilla base and a litte bit of almond in the background. It's so intoxicating and sexy. Makes me feel amazing. Definitely leans feminine to my nose. The longevity is not the best but also not the worst. It lasts about 6 hours on my skin, which I don't mind since I only wear it for date nights and don't need 12+ hours of longevity. It projects really well too. Lost Cherry is the queen of sexy fragrances in my humble opinion. 10/10.

shohruhnorqulov08

A very very sweet perfume. When we were kids, we hung scented paper in the car. This is the same smell. My sisters really liked it. Women appreciate this perfume more.

7/10

Gordon_Fragrance

Beauiful scent no question. However the sillage is not there, doesnt last very long, and I ran out of my 35ml quite soon.
I tried other cherry related scents, not going to advertise anything, but I have to say this is roughly underperforming.
Please take my words with a grain of salt, as I am accustomed to powerful, high performing scents, in the same price region, albeit this one let me down badly.

Letmeregister

The prettiest cherry perfume Imo, it's hard to find a cherry perfume that is realistic and doesn't smell like candy. However, what bothers me is that the scent fades pretty quickly on me to a smokey and spicy scent, really not flattering. To maintain the cherry and almond scent I would need to reapply pretty often. I don't think the price is justifiable.

ellafragrance

It's so hyped on social media. "It's the only cherry scent that doesn't smell like medicine!" "The best cherry scent out there!" "Smells like a rockstars girlfriend!!!"

I had high hopes... But it smells like medicine. I was so excited to smell something so hyped but I cannot stand it. Not for my nose, but my friend liked it. Definitely one you NEED to smell and DO NOT BLIND BUY.

Lbustos2

This perfume is pretty simple: it's a cherry almond fragrance. However, it's a scent that definitely transcends throughout the day. The smell unravels as the day goes on. I am a cherry lover and I prefer a sweet, more synthetic-like cherry smell, rather than a deep smoky cherry. That being said, this perfume has been, and always will be perfection. It is not very complex at all, although the scent does develop throughout the day. Upon first spray, you'll smell a nutty cherry. It almost smells like artificial cherry, but it's so yummy, ripe, and juicy. It smells like a juicy maraschino cherry. Then, it turns into an amaretto cherry kind of smell. I get a sense of a boozy, cherry, bitter almond kind of smell. It smells like a dark, black cherry. After, in its final stage, it smells more like a Jergens cherry almond scent. It almost smells kind of soapy and clean. As a cherry lover, I'm glad I get to experience different cherry worlds with this fragrance. It has a steeper price tag, but I don't mind, as I genuinely appreciate a non offensive, sweet, deep, and juicy cherry smell. Can't go wrong with Lost Cherry. She's an OG.

hotrodangel

This fragrance is so darksided for me I feel like it has a demonic aura

Maynard_James_Krawczyk

The best cherry scent in the game. And yes, men can also rock this one.

archerries

At first it smells familiar to a cherry bakewell, borderline synthetic with clear almond notes. It develops into a more seductive and mature cherry and dries down as a gorgeous fiery, smoky scent. The base notes are so warm and delicious, as if it were actually heating up my skin. Cinnamon comes through too

sweetjess

Me and my mum both love this fragrance but after the top notes dissappear we both get told by others that it smells like cigars!! I was at work the other day and someone asked who had been smoking cigars in the office (half-heartedly but gosh I hope people don't actually think that's what I smell like!)

torquemadaxiii

Strange how skin alchemy works. On first spray I get a very realistic cherry, juicy, rich, with some liquor. When time passes however, cherry really becomes lost - it is barely audible on the background, and the fragrance turns very smoky, as if cherries were roasted.) And on my skin it mightily reminds By The Fireplace. Maybe it is due to Peru balsam, which is present in both fragrances. I quite like Lost Cherry but I would have liked if cherries remained more prominent.

Glyksburg

I fully agree with @morose, it's the best description I've ever heard about Lost Cherry - "smells like Cherry flavoured Dr Pepper". I bougth 5ml for my sister as a gift, and I wanna say, that I feel utterly impressed by the fact how sexy, attractive and unique this Tom Ford fragrance, I harshly expected typical for teenager parfume, that is just sweet&dumb as composition. Not recommended for blind buy, if you wanna something like Lost Cherry but much more unique and less used - try Tom Ford Bitter Peach.
Im a guy, so the best way to describe how much I like this smell is next words: this is so sweet, sour and sexy aura, that I would like to eat the person who wears this one, this is amathingly arousing smell.

P.S
In my Opinion - for you, much better buy 3 niche feminine fragrances instead of 1 lost cherry bottle, but if you have urge and money, than go for It.
(I don't like using word "sexy" but this smell is way too sexy to omit the right definitions)

morose

smells like how dr.pepper tastes

of_assisi

just a heads up for anyone who is boycotting: tom ford and calvin klein both support israel financially and fill settled land with stores and product, which as a reminder, is what most of the companies on the boycott list do, at minimum.

fillefatale

wearing lost cherry feels like being subjected to someone's munchausen by proxy fetish. whether this is a good thing or a bad thing is up to you.

Wulfvynn

Wanted to try this one as everyone on tiktok was raving about it, some even said it smells like cadavers, which peaked my interest even more. So I did try it and to say I was dissapointed is an understatement. Having grown up in a slavic country where we make liquor out of literally anything, this reminded me of a cheap cherry liquor and that one time I got so drunk I regretted it the whole month. I tried it on skin and waited few hours hoping the liquor smell would go away but it didn’t. I even asked my mother who used to work with cadavers if it smelled like one, it didn’t. Formaldehyde, which is used to preserve cadavers, is supposed to smell like bitter almonds, yes, but not like this.

Honeysuckle85

Lost Cherry is my most favourite perfume ever. I have many and I’ve tried many, I could easily live without the majority of the perfumes I have, but couldn’t live without Lost Cherry.. I guess It works wonders on my skin as it opens up with a beautiful sweet and boozy cherry, as soon as the fragrance develops rose, plum note, jasmine and sweet notes come along and the blend is absolute perfection. It projects a lot during the first hours and it stays close to the skin during the rest of the day. I can smell on clothes for weeks and in my hair until the next shampoo. I know a lot of people complain with the longevity of this fragrance, it is so weird to me as I find it incredibly long lasting but light at the same time, it melts in your skin without covering your natural scent, this is why is so intriguing, sexy and beautiful. I’ve never received so many compliments wearing a fragrance (…and being chased by someone willing to eat me alive 😂)

WildCalifornia

This to me was love at first smell. I smelled the electric cherry first which made me melt but it's just too feminine. The smoke cherry isn't bad but it's too smokey and didn't have the brightness and sweetness I wanted . Then I finally tried this and it almost made my eyes roll back haha. I like the brighter electric cherry but this is way more unisex. In a nutshell you get the strong cherry skin scent that gets a little cherry flesh splash and a little almond undertone. Then you get the plum and slight jasmine come in before the is settles with the spice and woods. But it all comes together in a smooth wood tonka cinnamon base. 2 big issues with the fragrance. The first is the price . It's so dang expensive. Second is the longevity. If this really lasted and had good sillage it would probably be worth it . But it doesn't last. The first 45 minutes are just magic . Next 30 it mellows but is there. After about 2 hours you smell it on the skin but it has less than a foot of sillage. By the 4th hour you have to dig your nose into your skin to smell it. This is with 2 sprays per forearm/wrist, one neck and one chest . Which is more than I usually use. I have tried dupes but none come close to the scent .

As a long-time proponent of layering fragrances to create a more custom scent, I've found TF Lost Cherry to be a wonderful tool in my arsenal. While it appears rather one-dimensional and a bit juvenile on its own, when layered with TF Oud Wood, it becomes my signature cool weather scent. The Oud does a lovely job of "ripening" the more unrefined fruity notes and bringing about a more luscious, dark, smoky cherry. The Lost Cherry breathes a bit of youthfulness into the Oud, which, on its own can be rather dowdy/flat.
If you find yourself in possession of some Lost Cherry that you feel is a bit too punchy for your taste, I encourage you to try layering it with something a bit darker. Maybe even smoky. You might be surprised.

mynosemynose

I can’t see myself ever splashing out on it, but I really do love this. It’s yummy and sweet, and when I first tried it I found it had this kind of plasticky quality that I really adore (entertaining and appealing synthetic aura, a certain solid shininess…) It felt like eating a boozy cherry pudding out of a plastic bowl on a plastic tablecloth, at night with very few lights on in the house. The moon is in the window. There’s a presence of low tobacco, which as they say pushes it into the masculine (bad news for the divine feminine girlhood girlies). Comparing it to my (fine but just not the same) Essence Vault dupe, you can really sense the sharp lovely alcohol, and the lowness. Unfortunately, expensive perfumes often smell expensive.

(Edit: Also a side note for my own pleasure/reference: i think it’s fun that benzaldehyde (the almond smell, found in both almonds and cherries) is also used as an embalming deodorant. However the same can be said of any random cherry perfume. Lost Cherry is for an /expensive/ plastic-wrapped glamour corpse…)

Arion

I do not want to sound mean. Im not crazy about sweet perfumes but ocasionally do own a couple. This reminds me of vape or a bathroom freshner. I paid so much for it and i was so disappointed. Please note this is my personal opinion im not hating on anyone who loves this scent

annijakk26

It is so me, iam in love

cheleine

Coming back to this scent after almost 3 years.
The reason is I tried Electric Cherry and came laughing back to this to remember what a real cherry perfume should smell like…*drums*…. Lost Cherry it is!
This has an elegant scent profile and a deep cherry note that to me doesn’t smell medicinal or like cough drops.
It’s natural, it’s balmy, it’s sexy, slightly dark, perfectly unisex and just sweet enough to intoxicate you.
If Electric Cherry is an annoying tiktok teenager that tries too hard to fit in, then Lost Cherry is its older femme fatale sibling that naturally stands out and is effortlessly hot & seductive without really trying or caring.
Performance wise, this is a TF creation that respects the money you put into its purchase. A good investment.
The newer ‘cherry’ offering is laughable and people who know their Tom Fords will agree that the brand is currently not doing well with its new releases.
Lost Cherry remains one of its bestsellers for a reason.

SophiesAnologS9713

I love this scent its such a light fun scent but not childish its still very elegant and reformed. I specifically love that it smells pretty similar to embalming fluid and not in a bad way its very enjoyable and sweet. (I work in mortuary/medical so I'm familiar with the smell). This is the scent for you if you want something sweet light and playful but you have a more darker serious vibe.

JKanyce

Cherry cough syrup on the opening. My son and I both had an "oh hell no" moment upon our initial sniff. It was so bad, we wondered how ANYONE could enjoy it. However, while it's not for me, I could understand why someone might like the dry down on this. It smells like cherry almond extract if there were such a thing. It's TOO gourmand.

perfumejunkie90s

Love this one!! For some reason I've really been into cherry scents, I don't own this because I'm not willing to pay 300 $ for a fragrance that has absolutely horrendous lasting power that only lasted about 10 minutes is NOT worth it and better dupes out there one that smells similarity but not really a dupe is sweet heart cherry by Bath and Body works that they brought out for their valentines day sort of collection this year I'd rather get that instead it's like 285 dollars cheaper haha

saho93

It does smell like ripe cherry, not tart. I thought it would be sweet but it is not. It is a pretty scent, but I am not sure I want to smell like a ripe cherry. I can see why it’s popular though.

Olavi

love the smell of cherries, even tho this leans more feminine, I would still wear it as a man. love it and will purchase a bottle in the future, wish it had better performance

pjofangirl2

I liked the perfume for about five minutes before it started making me feel queasy. I was later informed by my sister that the sickeningly sweet cherry and almond scent is similar to what cadavers smell like. Yikes!

Caesar's Legion

I tried a sample of Lost Cherry. It's fairly feminine overall. If I wanted a cherry note I'll choose Montale Infinity EDP. It's also far cheaper. Infinity also has Oud and Tobacco in it.
Just because I don't wear it doesn't mean you won't like it

Emiliesmells

Despised this scent on me. It smelled like an over-ripe cherry rotting in the back of your fridge and an almond/ Christmas scented glade plug in. It gave "I'm a 55 year old divorced real-estate agent who wanted to spice up my sex life". Just very stale and potpourri-reminiscent on my chemistry. Gave it to my mom and she smelled like sour cherry candy and a smoky sexy vanilla. Alas, life is unfair but it made me smile she loved it so much!

nickinicole

I'm not a fan of almond, so I'm glad it isn't overwhelming like it can be in other scents (e.g., good girl). It's a sweet, realistic cherry that can be dressed up or down. I honestly really like it

SleepyHaed

I went to Sephora yesterday (approximately 30 hours ago) and sprayed two sprays on my wrist, I've washed my hands probably 16 times due to moving things out of a dusty basement, and I can still smell this, I'll get random whiffs but it sticks very close to the skin after probably the 13-14 hour mark. I really love the extremely sweet cherry syrup that's covering most of the spice that just seems to poke its face around the edges, giving it a very slight smoky aroma. I can understand why some say it smells like cough syrup, because it kind of does. Sorry for being all over the place.

Edit: After a 30 minute steaming shower and some rest I can still faintly smell it on my skin.

samudex

This is very close to bitting a sweet cherry. This is a subtle and intimate projection fragrance.

idiotghost

Is this the most overrated women's perfume of all time? Influencers promised embalming fluid and the sickly sweetness that is so characteristic of decay.

But this is so underwhelming. Like the scent of cherry cough syrup and sweet almond oil. It's not particularly medical or morbid at all for me. Cherry Amaretto by SP and Indecent Cherry by BTSO are both better options for a fraction of the price. This is not worth scouring every Sephora for a sample or buying decants, in my opinion.

And I wish TF would just go all the way with the vulgar/suggestive names. Just call it Popped Cherry or Torn Hymen.

zawwarahmad

top notes: cherry, sour candy, sweet, warm, nutty (like bodacious)
middle notes :same notes as before, just more subtle
basically sour and sweet -> everyday wearable. My favorites from tom ford line. 9.5/10!

dia_tetty

I love the scent, it's warm, juicy and spicy -I wanna bathe in it. The sillage is non existent - you really have to smell where you spayed it, even on a vaseline. It doesn't last either - you can barely smell something sweet the next day. Way way too expensive for the price. I do sometimes take it with me to the sofa and just sniff the bottle -that's now much I love the cherry. Sad that I didn't really get to experience it as a normal perfume since no one including me can really smell it when it's applied.

kiwiclams

Notes I noticed: black cherry, cherry liqueur, patchouli, vanilla, cedar, Tonka Bean
Things I liked: The notes + the cut of wood, patchouli and citrus through the cherry + gourmand scents like vanilla. Very nice!! A little less feminine than I expected, but in a way I really liked. There is a depth to this perfume that I liked a lot.
Things I didn't like: Price, it is expensive - which makes sense but is still frustrating. Also wish it lasted longer and projected more.
Will I repurchase?: Yes. When I can afford it lol

jokcoy

A nice cherry smell with a beautiful plum. There's a hint of alcohol from the cherry liquer that smell a bit boozy. Although the projection is not good and the longevity is just average, it's still a nice scent to have in cold weather. Classy and sexy. A bit leaning towards feminine but I still enjoy it cuz I can pull it off.

Trendkill97

Lovely. Not too many like this are there in the market, nice luscious cherry, sweet and sour, plum and the supporting notes really make it nice balmy and sweet vanillic with a touch of booziness, scent really evolves, sticks to skin for quite a while, unique, it pops, indeed is some nice stuff.

a&perfumes

A sweet, cherry fragrance, perfect for winter / colder days! It might not be suitable for everyone, but personally, I enjoy this scent!

Odor Aeternitatis

If I were to name this fragrance, I would call it Cherry Almond. What I love most about this perfume is the way it creatively blends the almond and cherry notes together, making it unique. These two notes are stronger and more contrasting than the others. The plum note is mixed well with the cherry, giving it a liquor-like quality.
I would not recommend blindly buying this fragrance. It is not versatile and may not be suitable for everyday use. If you have a collection of many fragrances and are looking for something different to wear on special occasions, then this would be a great pick. Other than its creativity, it's an average fragrance in other aspects, in my openion.
7/10

aromaarchitectusa

Lost Cherry? More like Lost Scent! I just sprayed an entire decant on myself and it is super weak. Sad.

anamawsity

The scent was interesting and sweet when I smelled it in store, but when I tried it on, I just smelled sour cherries. I got really no hint of sugar at all, so it’s just a bit too masculine for me. On my skin, this has minimal sillage but lasts almost all day.
In terms of other cherry perfumes—
-Finery Not Another Cherry: nearly identical but a bit sweeter
-Snif Tart Deco: slightly more powdery
-Kayali Lovefest Burning Cherry: similar but a bit creamier
-The 7 Virtues Cherry Ambition: similar but just a tad sharper
-Hilde Soliani Una Tira l’Altra: much simpler
-YSL Black Opium Over Red: more of a vanilla based perfume with a hint of plasticky cherry

All in all, for the price and the scent, I would stick with Finery Not Another Cherry.

Ghost13

Okay controversial take but this is so masculine to me. I DO NOT CARE if people say fruity is feminine because men can pull off fruity perfumes so well, I’m serious. But I still think a woman could pull this off.

This is Bruce Wayne. Not the Batman, but Bruce- the mask he wears in front of other people at gatherings. It’s so sophisticated and sultry, refined and high class. It is fleeting just like him keep in mind, but I kind of prefer it because it is very smokey to me. No, I would not purchase it but if I smelled it on someone I would compliment it.

Ps. The Cherry Gloss candle at Anthropologie smells extremely similar and isn’t too badly priced if you want this as a candle ;)

Msala140

Smells like the big red gum with a touch of cherry and some smokiness of some wood or incense. But yeah it’s mainly a faint maraschino cherry with big red gum. Room 1015’s cherry punk is still my favorite cherry fragrance.

Sasspergers

This is very sexy! Pleasantly surprised at how it avoids the typical medicinal cherry scent and evokes a luscious and pretty scent. However, the longevity leaves much to be desired.

The comment below me makes me so happy ❤️ I don't even know you and I'm proud of you!! ✨

2bClare

They used to make some plastic toys for little girls that were embedded with a scent. This reminds me of one of those toys shaped like a plastic cherry that someone’s little brother took outside and tried to light on fire. Burning plastic with a sickly sweet childish cherry undertone.
I had a new bottle of Lost Cherry in my car after picking it up at the post office and was about to walk into a store to do some errands. I gave myself about 3-4 sprays and felt safe doing that based on its rhapsodic reviews. But- instant headache. A man passing me in the parking lot gave me a very dirty look. True story.
I much prefer Target’s version.and it’s so much cheaper. Also Banana Republic Amber Cherry you can get for like 20 dollars now is good.

camwilo

ever since i came out, this has been my fav, happy to embrace my she/her identity and keep slayinggg

Maya lilac

The cherry of all cherries! The fragrance that made me personally fall in love with cherries in perfume. The one and only that started all the obsession with cherries for the last 5 years or so.

Lost Cherry is still my most favourite cherry fragrance I have tried/owned. It’s a realistic, warm and sweet type of cherry fragrance with a plethora of supporting notes listed but in the end it just smells like cherry! Intoxicating and addictive… A bit boozy, nutty and almondy, rosy and cozy. The benzoin, vanilla and the balsams from the base round the cherry note nicely and offer a little more presence.

I think the best seaon for wearing Lost Cherry would have to be early fall and spring because this would not face well low temperatures. It’s really delicious, fun and playful but quite thin..

As beautiful and gorgeous as this is, it really lacks in the performance. Very moderate performance, very mass appealing and an absolute compliment getter as long as you are happy to reapply consistently throughout the day.

Comparing it to other cherry perfumes currently sold, I prefer Lost Cherry over Cherry Punk, another great cherry scent I have sampled, because this is sweeter and very feminine. I love everything sweet, gourmand leaning, so Tom Ford’s creation is perfect for my taste.

I bought Kayali’s Lovest Burning Cherry when it was released hoping it would be a dupe. It’s not but it’s similar, and believe me, Kayali outperforms this. Which says something because Kayali are not known for long lasting fragrances, with very few exceptions!

Also, YSL, this is how you make a good cherry fragrance. Take notes… your latest BO flanker, Over Red, is a cherry mess, the cherry note lasts 30 seconds and smells synthetic!

What made this really difficult for me to get it was that very, very high price! It took me about a year after testing it and a good deal to finally take the plunge and buy it. I am not sure if I would repurchase once I go through my 100 ml bottle. I need it to perform better for that price! But I really love that smell…

Lucky7z

I’ve loved this perfume since its release and have tested if on and off for years….its a wonderful warm cherry scent that is just intoxicating. Yes it’s wonderful but in my opinion also not worth the price tag……on me it has a medium lasting power and sillage is a medium light…wich for the price tag I expect this to last longer and be a powerhouse fragrance wich on me it’s not. It’s still a wonderful perfume scent wise though.
Another one I’d say to find a good dupe of..

AnastasiaGostieva

It’s my first time trying Lost Cherry. So first impression is pretty good.

Juicy summery cherries with sweet and powdery (also slightly almond-y) undertones. It’s very well balanced. Very nice combination of fresh fruity notes and sweet powdered vanilla. Actually, I was thinking that it would be a bit more harsh, but it’s actually a softie (just a very radiant one))))

if you had asked me a week ago if i ever wanted to smell like cherry i would have definitely said no but this? my god. this dries down godly and makes me feel almost irresistible, its the kind of scent that will make a man bury his face in your neck in the corner of a dark bar and indulge in your presence, its grown up but with a flirty twist.

darwin_99

Honestly, with Tom Ford, you always get exactly what you bought. Look at the notes, and this is literally what it smells like. There is no surprise here. If that is what you like, this is a good fragrance for you. To be completely honest, it is a good fragrance. I love it, but I won't be buying it again. The biggest critique here is the price point. Especially since Lost Cherry lasts all of 5 seconds, the price is insane. At this point, I resorted to just spraying it, if I just need a little pick-me-up, but I won't rely on it to be my scent of the day. At best, it can be used to layer. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find a dupe that smells exactly like it, but if there is, I would suggest you get that instead of paying big bucks for this.

larabee

I absolutely adore cherry scents but I never ever blind buy anymore, so I ordered a sample and oh my goodness, this scent is delectable. Beautiful and tasteful cherry/amaretto scent that is just delicious. Not sickening at all, but very classy. The only thing is the price point is a bit high, in my opinion. Supposedly Dossier does a great dupe of this one though. If you love cherry/almond/amaretto smells, definitely recommend!

thuphan269

I enjoy the boozy top note, and this perfume lasts really long on my skin. However, the middle and base notes are nothing special, especially for this price

zulalk

I really wanted to smell this perfume i was too intrigued by the notes and the hype, then i tried it. AND GOD NO. This perfume smells like i got wasted in cherry liquor and didnt shower for 3 days. I like cherry fragrances, i like strong scents and i hated it. Along with hypnotic poison these two scents are the worst i have ever TRIED to smell. Not a safe blind buy just based on the notes. Please go smell before buying bc i love head aching smelly strong scents. And this is not for me, surprisingly i LOVED the notes when i was looking it up from here. Do not buy before trying it. I HATED it personally.

definitelasts

I first smelled this back in 2018, and the smell has stuck with me - I really need to go get either a sample or travel size bottle... it's so pricey. I know it's worth the price though. Truly a perfect cherry fragrance.

goosefeather

of course i've smelled this, i'm sure everyone has now. i was reeled in by the allure other people were creating for it, and, of course, by the perfect deep red of the bottle. nice, sweet cherry smell that sits and doesn't get up. dry down has a wonderful anatomy. i am a little perplexed about the obsession for this one; cherry smells are lovely, yes, but i wouldn't wear this every day, even though i am quite fond of it. do you believe in possession? this smell is smart and complex, not overwhelming on the cherry, maintaining a very natural, pleasant aura, a sophisticated gourmand.

Chesf

Tom ford smells unusual, to be a bit crude, I will say it smells weird af.
Even the name “lost cherry” isn’t even that imaginary or beautiful. At best it’s an average and literal description of the experience of the perfumery. Imo thematic scents like lost cherries is made for specific cherry scent lovers and collectors. It should be sold at 10 dollars perhaps, and 300 is a very shameless price.

5/10

angel_milk

My introduction to Tom Ford world started with Lost Cherry, and this is still my most favorite fragrance from TF (waiting for my 5ml of Vanilla Sex to be delivered this week, so we will see :) )
I've got my Lost Cherry last week, so now I am so so so happy to have this beautiful smell with me every day! Even my husband who is not a fan of perfumes (what??) loved it which is a lot!
I think this is the smell for any occasion and any season, it's easy to wear and at the same time very sophisticated. It's long-lasting, it's radiating, it's beautiful from the opening to dry down. It's sweet and fruity and warm, but also somehow fresh as well - I have no idea how this is even possible altogether. The dry down is cozy, almond-y, liquor-y, and super tasty.
My only concern is that hype around this fragrance and a lot of dupes around, so there is a risk of ending up smelling like every second person around me. Let's see.

theautumnfaerie

so, judging by the sample, i am a little disappointed. the fragrance is of good quality, very rich and sophisticated, however does feel a bit too liquor-y for my liking. just a bit. i wouldn't mind wearing this from time to time, but the price for a small bottle of this is just insane. by the notes i am more intrigued by Cherry Smoke, but i have to yet get a sample (which is alone very expensive for 2ml).

the very first spray i got an impression of cherry pralines - definitely strong cherry liquor and almond. within 10 minutes the scent became a bit more sour than sweet and very heavy on almonds. unfortunately, i am not much of a fan of almonds. very gourmand and well-played. more subtle on clothes than skin.

after 2 hours i get a fairly noticeable rose and underneath a sprinkle of cinnamon and tonka bean. on clothes the scent is still very cherry. add another hour and the scent is somewhat subtler and sweeter, quite vanilla now.

projects within arm length or so, longevity around 4 hours or more. rather for colder months and night wear, but day wear is also fine. does lean a bit more feminine.

edit: i'd worn this perfume quite a lot during january, and i have to say, it has grown on me. actually, i borderline love it. now i'd consider buying even a bottle, tho the price is indeed discouraging. maybe one day.

uhohstinky

Bought it for the wife and just love the way it smells on her. Longevity and sillage are moderate plus and the cherry note is so good. Playful and fun!

Tiffaerie

So I’m more of a fresh and aquatic girl, but I received a sample of this. Def didn’t think I would like it and do feel it’s overpriced…BUT, with how complex it is, I understand why this is a work of art. I’m not sure why ppl are saying it smells like cough medicine. I notoriously hate Cherry cough medicine and can’t even smell it without gagging, and I hate the synthetic Cherry Candy or Cherry car air freshener smells. This is the scent of extremely ripe black and red cherry flesh, coupled with ripe black plum..and only the slightest balsamic or astringent quality of the liqueur. Cherry and almond are soulmates when it comes to scent profiles, and the 2 are perfectly balanced here. You cannot smell the overly nutty almond fragrance as you would in an almond extract used in French desserts, but you would surely notice something integral is missing if it was removed. Idk if this is a hidden note, but whether it is or if the ingredients were combined and accidentally or purposely created it, I also get an immediate top note of leather, directly beneath the cherry, almond and tonka...Perhaps labdanum? As it dries down, the jasmine and Turkish rose comes to play in the heart notes. The cherry turns more bitter and less sweet, while at the same time, the vanilla lightly sweetens and start giving way to amber. Finally with dry down, when the base notes hit and the earthy notes and micro-oils remain, the benzoin blooms and is reminiscent of fresh dipped incense(nag champa specifically). After leaving the base to rest and blend with my specific chemistry (which my body tends to sweeten perfumes so I usually hate gourmands) I’m left with ambery vanilla at first whiff, followed by a light cherry liqueur scent that is slightly earthy and softened with a powdery note, both likely from the incensy benzoin. The layers are super complex and changed drastically over time, while the main profile remained. I do also love the the LDR,Cherry cola/red girl aesthetic, which is not what made me get a sample, but I only realize now how well its fits the aesthetic after trying it on. If you don’t normally like overly sweet and immature gourmands, this one is a luxury and slightly more mature gourmand, while maintaining its youth and innocence in the cherry and vanilla type notes. Do you like Japanese Cherry Blossom from B&B? THIS would be the expensive adult version. I will say, this imo will prob not work in the summer as it will probably become sticky/dirty smelling. The winter cold keeps the fruit scents intact enough to smell more fresh, and keeps the already warm amber, tonka/vanilla, jasmine and benzoin from becoming too warm/too sweet. A night time winter scent this should be!
*Edit:I took a nap for a few hours while wearing this fragrance on my wrist pulse points,
when I woke up, the perfume didn't smell fresh or clean anymore, as i said above regarding heat, it starts to smell dirty and sticky, but the sillage fades significantly and turns powdery with the slightly leftover woodiness of the benzoin. I think it will be a fragrance that I spray on my clothing, and layer with my cherry amber body butter by Hairtage.
***edit 2: GET OAKCHA’s VERSION! Not only is it $50, but it somehow smells less synthetic! Still has the same fragrance profile and complexity, but maybe leans a teeny bit more floral, which I honestly prefer. Oakcha also has a fragrance called “Miss Girl” which is Lost Cherry mixed with Baccarat that I would be very curious to try, since baccarat notoriously makes me and seemingly everyone else anosmic af haha. I highly recommend Oakcha’s dupes!❤️

SarahPepper

Haven’t tried the original TF version but bought and tried Perfume Parlour’s dupe today and if you’re from the UK you’ll know what Cherry Sourz smells like. It just smells like Cherry Sourz. I had to wash it off my skin after 5 mins.

FallenLeaf

Never smelled the original but I've always loved cherry since eating cherry drops as a child.....& eating fresh cherries of course!

Just lately I have been craving a cherry perfume so much. I have Lolita Lempicka Sweet, that I love, but that is a very different cherry.

I tried a dupe of this by The Perfume People. It was far too chemical but the DNA was enough that I knew I'd love it had it be done right.

The reviews for the Perfume Parlour's version were good, so I decided to give that a try.

WOW! Now I know why!!

Absolutely delectable in the most sexy way!!

Found myself a new signature scent & it's cheap & lasts ages!!!

The reviews on their website are from people that have owned or at least smelled the original, so don't just take my word for it. Take a look! ;)

jenniferg0924

This is top 5 ever for me!

This is the OG—everyone else hopped on the bandwagon. There will never be another Tom Ford Lost Cherry.

This is Cherry liquor mixed with sour cherry with woods in the background; sweet notes come out in the dry down.

This gives me sexy date night, even cougar vibes. Like a hot mom in a black dress with her hair up would wear this scent!

Ipecik

I am not a gourmand perfume lover but I just wanted to give this a try. With the first spray it smells cherry, a little bit smoky and when it dries down, almonds come out, a little bit dusty. This is not a cheap drug store cherry body spray, it’s more sophisticated. After 3 hours on my wrist it turned into a skin scent. It’s lovely, I think I will get an 50 ml bottle if I find it on discount, it’s overpriced indeed.

nomi00

i guess cherry isnt my thing. it just reminds me of those cough syrups that i hated drinking as a kid. dont know why even got this knowing that. the almond prevents it from being too syrupy, but still. a pass for me

bsl.perfumes

My expectation was too high but it was like a cheap body spray. I like cheap body sprays anyway, so I don't try to trash it but if you've seen Red Girl/Lana Del Rey Aesthetic TikToks including this perfume, don't be influenced because this perfume is not ''the one''

calyx93

I initially thought this would be just another fad fragrance, considering that the cherry thing has been going on and ramping up for a while now (looking at you LPRN and your progeny). Apprehension about it being a gourmand or too candy-like was also bothering me. I found a ridiculously cheap deal that I couldn't pass up for two once-sprayed 100ml flacons of Lost Cherry and Tobacco Vanille so, blindly, I went ahead with the cherry scent.

Colour me completely surprised upon my first four sprays and day following. Several compliments later and many moments of catching gentle whiffs of myself, I was being won-over by another TF perfume. Nothing nearly as bombastic as the by now rather familiar TV strength, this is more like a snifter of cherry liqueur or cherry bitters added to some amaretto over a beautifully vanillic Oriental base - very adult, not too sweet and nothing like a cheap, hastily-formulated B&BW, Victoria's Secret or immature "mall" scent" so prevalent today.

[ FYI - MIIM.MIIC Fragrance Laboratories makes a wonderfully faithful copy of this called Compound 79 for $60. Seriously, it's almost identical and lasts a bit longer, too. Both this and the OG, LC have a propensity for giving the wear some anosmia over a short - but trust me, it lasts a full workday on skin - a full week on clothes/outerwear - with nearly perfect sillage at all times. I just found FOUR 100ml bottles at $20 each at a local Marshall's, so keep your eyes open for this if you're a fan of Lost Cherry and want to spray yourself down with abandon.

(PS - also bought MIIM.MIIC Compound 99 and 66 {their BR540 and Santal 33 copies} at the same time and they too are truly identical to the originals and of high quality materials. I've got the originals of Lost Cherry, BR540 and Santal 33 and I'm also a perfumer, so I'm not doing sales/props for MIIM.MIIC. I'm just rather impressed, fanatical about perfume and love finding quality and good values.]

St.0cky

This shouldnt be marketed as unisex imho. Its way too feminine. But then again I feel BR540 is a feminine frag fwiw

simonabacaoanu

At first it smells like cherry syrup or liquor, after a while I get glue, scented glue stick and it brings back kindergarten memories. I think I could wear it everyday at my job.

CamJ27

I can’t say I like the initial spray. The dry down is really nice though. Would be nice to layer this with a vanilla perfume.

sempergrey

I don’t agree with those who call this too feminine for unisex wear. If you’re a man who wears BR 540 then you’ll find this sufficiently genderless. It’s surprisingly short-lived on my skin but I’m a fan. Not sure if it’s worth the retail price when dupes abound.

v4mpir

although incredibly overpriced, this is my favorite cherry fragrance so far. only for special occasions imo. the longevity could improve, with how expensive it is i don’t want to have to respray it every 2 hours.

Abjora

It smells like straight up almond extract with a bit of cherry in th background. It's not an offensive scent but it isn't special, and definitely not worth the pricetag. This fragrance doesn't last long.

daniel moss man

tested this in a sephora on my clothes a while ago and im so pissed off because this scent is so good but so overpriced. the opening is the best part, the rest is a more musky liquor but i know some people dont like it. but dawg this scent is just wild and i hate it because its so fricking expensive. if you have the money try it, but dont feel pressured to. scent is kinda subjective anyway

At first, it's a decadent cherry liquor, and I've smelled it on other people performing beautifully. It's dark, intoxicating, albeit a bit powdery. There is something plastic in the background.

The drydown - at least on me - reads as nothing but burnt, heavy plastic. Think of a cherry scented makeup pallete. Now imagine sticking a match into it, then sniffing the pallete after the cherry plastic curdles. Nauseating.

I smelled it on other folks later on and I used it on some dried roses to imbue them with fragrance. It's beautiful, intoxicating, and radiant on skin - just not mine.

ohmy222

I got a decant of this solely because I thought is was interesting in the store and I had nothing like it. I am not the biggest fan but it is not bad. Definitely not for a TF price. My wife wears this now which seems a better fit. I like the idea a lot. The longevity is not what you would expect for the price.

From the perfumer who brought us Trussardi's Python Uomo (2001) and J-Lo's original Glow (2002), Lost Cherry smells good but pedestrian, a not uncommon accord of powdery-sweet cherry and amaretto, which gracefully segues into tobacco leaf and tonka bean, with little hints of vanilla in the blend. By the ninety minute mark, it's more a tobacco leaf than cherry, and projection is steady and fairly strong. Six hours in, and the tonka and tobacco are evenly balanced, and eight hours in, it's still sturdy and projecting an inch or two. Not immensely complex in any way, nor is it notably natural for something at this price point, but the twee trill of maraschino cherry is pleasant and punchy enough to make this stuff worth a sniff.

jansiri

I was so excited to try a realistic cherry scent but was disappointed. Not sure why others are saying this smells like real cherries. To me this opens with the smell of maraschino cherries and dries down to smell excatly like cough syrup. Overall very sickly and cloying.

It took me a minute to realize Tom Ford lost cherry remind me of kilian back to black but more complex and feminine it. I think if you take back to black & kilian black phantom & mixed it together you would get Tom ford lost cherry 🍒 but more beast mode even though it remind me of the two it’s still worth having lost cherry in my collection. My only regret is not buying this fragrance sooner. We deserve a permanent discount code with all the fragrances we have purchased since the pandemic I know I am not the only one we need help 🙈 oh yeah if you like lost cherry you would love creed Carmina such a beautiful fragrance I think they are one the same level with that cherry note if you love cherries check carmina out.

This and a few others have shifted my paradigm forever. It is bright and juicy, warm glossy cherry right at the start. Not synthetic like the dossier and some other dupes. It stays true like that on the skin for the first 30ish mins - over which time more vanilla, wood, and especially almond begin peaking in.

Then, boom, ALMOND. Cherry, vanilla, warm wood and something mildly floral become the background and you are marzipan . Honestly this shift bummed be out at first but it became addicting. Its a joyful and delicious experience if you like cherry and almond.

This was a valentines 2022 gift from my partner, and it’s all gone. He was bewildered when I’d wear it to bed or just around the house but he came to understand some perfumes are just for us, for that pure joy and happiness boost.

Louise Turner is amazing. With a cherry perfume you're always one step away from cough medicine and she's managed to masterfully avoid it it seems. Upon the initial spray I got delicious, juicy, photorealistic gourmand cherry that instantly made me crave a real cherry pie. It is appropriately sweet and I also didn't get much of the liqueur note which made me like it more since I would rather not smell like a boozer. I took the tester card with me and kept smelling it in the car, finding it more captivating with each sniff. So far it is the only cherry fragrance I've sampled that I have nothing negative to say about - it is not medicinal and not metallic, truly a gourmand. This Tom Ford creation is linear as well but it shouldn't be much of a problem if you happen to really love the scent. It's not groundbreaking perhaps, and even then, if you can't seem to find a cherry fragrance you can like, and you're hang on the idea anyway, try Lost Cherry. It does what it does well.

Then I also smell that signature Louise Turner thing. If you're familiar with her works for the Carolina Herrera house you might understand what I'm talking about. It's suffice to say Lost Cherry, if anything, is more suitable for admirers of the perfumer Louise Turner rather than the brand Tom Ford, it's very much her style.

mosquitosprayer221

the smell is okay. definitely wont recommend for males. if u like the smell of cherry, i feel like this would be a good choice for u. But unfortuntely, it is overpriced my opinion.

lanadelreyy

HI MORTICIAN! this is a DEAD cherry. if you want to smell what it's like to get embalmed definitely purchase this!!

Yumik

Similar to Vanille Fatale, this perfume doesn’t last long with me. I have to layer it with another cherry perfume as well. I think Tom Ford just isn’t for me. Would I buy it again? Nope

mabelangel

tbf i typically hate any perfume with cherry or almond notes, so i was kind of let down when i received this as a gift for Christmas - but i actually really love this! it has a more prominent vanilla and jasmine note than i expected, but i can barely smell any cinnamon, rose or plum notes. which im kind of thankful for cause they’re very heavy all together. the cherry is really realistic too. i think all cherry scents will be artificial/plastic-y/cough syrup-y to an extent, but this is the least of all those things.

notesbymynose

I bought this a few years ago as a blind buy and did not enjoy it at all as the cherry note reminded me of cough syrup and I found it kinda nauseating. Recently, I ended up wearing it again and enjoyed it. Don’t get me wrong, I still am not the biggest fan of the opening cherry note, it’s more of a maraschino cherry/cough syrup cherry/artificial cherry flavoured cherry rather than a fresh/fruity cherry (which I adore) which is what I was expecting initially and the cherry liquor definitely makes this worse. But perhaps my nose has changed from when I first bought it because I do like the almond/cherry combo now, so I find the opening a bit more enjoyable even despite the cough syrup-y nature of the cherry note.

However the part I actually love is when it dries down, it leaves such a lovely sweet vanilla scent behind. As the name states, the cherry note is completely lost as the time goes on. So I love spraying this on my skin, especially behind my ears as I get whiffs of the sweet vanilla when I move my head as the day goes on. This has basically started my vanilla scent obsession but I haven’t found anything that compares to the base notes in this. I might even continue purchasing this just for the base notes. 😭

The longevity is pretty good on me, I can still smell the base notes the day after. I especially love waking up and getting whiffs of it from behind my ear. For the price though, the cherry note just kinda ruins this scent for me as I find myself just waiting for the perfume to dry down so the base notes can shine.

UlianaM

I didn't like it (and I really really wanted to).
It started as a cherry, but it quickly turned into alcohol.
Somehow it reminds me of angels' share. They are different, but the booze, cinnamon, spices... I can feel it.

MissJohanna

Let me start off by saying: I hate cherries. Cherry-scented stuff, cherry-flavored stuff. It just always smells like terrible-quality marzipan. Don't care for the fruit either.

Now, one of the local fragrance stores that normally don't carry Tom Ford in-house had a Tom Ford-event the other day. I went through all of the lineup and when I got to this one I braced myself knowing it would probably smell like cheap marzipan. I was SHOCKED to immediately love the scent of it. I sprayed it on my wrist and had a blast of marzipan, which thankfully only lasted a couple of seconds.

To me Lost Cherry smells incredibly sultry and sexy. Smokey, sweet, spicy and tart red fruits and berries. It's an incredibly warm scent and I can see myself getting a migraine from it under the wrong circumstances. It would fit perfectly at a night out or strolling a christmas fair, out in the cold weather. Oh and I could still faintly smell it the day after trying it so on my skin it lasts a long time.

If this is ever on sale I will grab a bottle.

Hotcoon

The biggest compliment-getter ever in my collection - from taxi drivers and my multiple affairs to the priest's wife who approached my mom(we both use it) after the service and said she normally did not like perfumes, but this was an exception. I prefer vanilla fragrances, but this cherry almond scent gets so much attention and compliments that I keep repurchasing it.

manon_crts

The scent is alluring and seductive, striking a balance between gourmand and powdery notes. I'd wear it more frequently if it didn't require frequent reapplication. A bit deceiving for the price….

Peachysuede

I do not like Lost Cherry by Tom Ford. Its cult following promises somber vampiric masses, late nights spent draped in drunken stupor over the red velvet chaise in some strangers apartment, pure melodrama…and instead I was met with the depth and beauty of a cherry sucker from the metal tin at the bank.

izabelavank

it is giving sexy deep vampire evokes some bubble feeling dont know how to explain perfect

n.ben885

I've tried to like this but all I get is kids cough syrup

acidgypsycat

Like with all Tom Ford fragrances I have complicated relationship with this one. I bought it about a year ago and since then I almost didn't use it. For me it requires a very specific mood, as it is very strong and sweet and it is super easy to get tired of it (again, like of all Tom Ford's stuff). The other day I was in Sephora and I noticed the price for the same 30ml bottle that I bought a year ago went up at least twice. I find it ridiculous because if you want a realistic cherry smell (which is pleasant, I am not going to argue with that), there's a bunch of cheaper alternatives out there. One I saw yesterday that could be a potential replacement was "Cherry Ambition" by The 7 Virtues. Tom Ford lately became overpriced, imo.
Nonetheless, I like this smell and it is best to wear it if the weather is cold and crispy, definitely improves the mood and adds warmth and colour to grey days.

jukelley00

Lost Cherry has the potential to be an amazing perfume if it weren't for the terrible longevity and equally ridiculous price point. The fragrance itself is sexy, seductive, balancing between gourmand and powdery. I would wear it more often if I didn't have to reapply it so often...it's about the same quality as a Bath and Body Works body spray. It's audacious to price a 1 oz bottle at $250 when the perfume wears off in 2-3 hours. I wouldn't repurchase this, and I would opt for a less expensive dupe like ALT's "Cherry Smash" if you're looking for an alternative.

Rockwinn

It's...okay. I like layering this fragrance with others better than wearing it on its own. On its own, I've never gotten any complements on it the way I have with other fragrances. I fell for the hype surrounding it, was disappointed by how expensive it was, and then wasn't absolutely wowed by it. I SO want to love this so I keep trying. Maybe one day...

MadameReem

Best cherry fragrance on the market

odinson888

I wont say its unisex. I think its more feminine. The alcohol notes were just too unneccessary. Anyawy, great juice!

quynhnd1

I'm a cherry fan, and I have yet to come across a cherry scent that I don't like. This is nice. It's very cherry all the way through with a bit of liquor. I've tried many other cherry scents, and this one is almostttt one dimension, but that's not a bad thing at all. My issue with this scent is it only lasts for about 2hr or less on my skin, and for how expensive it is, I'm not willing to spend my money on this.
Similarity:
Kayali Love Fest: the cherry opening and note is similar, but after the top notes go away, Love fest is more woody and sweet. These are 4/10 similar imo.
Finery Not Another Cherry: this one is very similar to Lost Cherry, with the difference being that Finery is more gourmand and sweet, almost like a candy sweet, but not overpowering. 8.5/10 similar.
Wet Cherry Liquor: the opening on this one is more like a cherry pie filling, and it is very boozy. The mid is dominated by tonka beans and is not one dimensional at all. 6/10 similar.
As for the flankers in the Lost Cherry line, they are in the same umbrella but are quite different from each other. Electric Cherry is a lot brighter and cheery, while Cherry Smoke is heavy on smoke, leather and woodiness.
Overall, I like Lost Cherry, but it doesn't last, and that's the most important thing to me in a fragrance.

catcat42

It doesnt smell syrupy at all on me..This opens very gourmand and turns into a smooth woody beauty just as I like. It has a nutty cheery tart opening but does not last long. Then it takes another turn woods come in..Oh this is amazing after that. Lasts for hours on me which is weird because I literally have perfume eating skin. I am very happy with my blind buy. This is among my top 5 winter scents. And this is a light, soft, smooth skin scent I wouldn't pick it to a night out. But I am in love

Emerald615

Smells like ripe dark red cherries stewing in a pot producing rich syrupy jam. Absolutely delicious. Obsessed with this. I can imagine it layering well with other fragrances to create yummy cherry spin-offs.

candieslove

This fragrance finally arrived, this is a blind buy. Basically, this smells like cherry and wine, it can smell like medicine in some angle. A sweet and classy scent. The cherry in this is very present but it is not overwhelming. I think this is a safe blind buy if you are a fan of cherry and liquor-like scents. This perfume is a good experience but i don't think this is something I would miss once i finished the bottle. A good scent for special occasion, especially night formal events. For me this is too much for an everyday scent.

AhmedWSWA

I smelled this a few days ago and it was pretty nice tbh. I'd give it a 8.8/10 and it lasted on my skin for about 15 hours.

Heathermarie8617

Not a huge fan of cherry perfumes but this is pleasant enough. I don't get a heavy syrup-y cherry, but as MysteriousMidna mentioned below, it is like cherry pie filling. I go between thinking "WOW. THIS IS SO GOOD." and "It's okay." Not sure if I would invest in a full bottle, but I will enjoy my little travel spray while it lasts.

TonkaBean546

It has a strong cherry punch at the start but as it evaporates a bit you get a really nice and sweet cherry smell. I usually don’t go for this type of perfume and I thought I wouldn’t like it, but I actually do, especially for a night out

y_lang

being 19 years old and oops i've spilt my vodka cherry coke! you took me home anyways

MysteriousMidna

Smoky woody boozy cherry pie. The cherry note is not like fresh cherries, cherry candy, maraschino cherries, or medicinal cough syrup. It’s like cherry pie filling specifically, which some might think would be too sweet, but the other notes balance it out very well. It’s like someone doused a cherry pie with amaretto and baked it in a wood smoker. The vetiver, patchouli, and rose are subtle enough for me. The smokiness can sometimes be a touch too strong if I’m not in the right mood for it but it’s extra good layered with vanilla. Dossier has a great dupe with better longevity if you want to save some money.

Charades

Lost cherry is alright, it definitely stands up to the cherry in its name. Even thought it has more notes than just cherry, but all I can smell is just genuine pure cherry and devoid of any other note, even during dry down. That may just be me, but I think the scent could be replicated in a $20 fragrance. Recommended to millionaires who love cherries

Deliza1997

I have a love hate relationship with cherry fragrances (as many of them give cough syrup vibe) but I decided to give it a try after reading many good reviews and here I am super disappointed again. The opening reminds me of Dr Pepper(cherry) and the dry down on me smells like medicinal cherry mixed with some booze and spices but the synthetic cherry is too much overpowering that I can't stand it. Not a blind buy safe fragrance. And the performace is very bad considering the price. Even if you like the scent it not worth your money for the horrendous performance.

thaochipnd

I can't love Lost Cherry. It has a strong smell that is hard to smell on my skin, like rotten Cherries dropped into a glass of wine. Sorry to those who are fans of this fragrance :(

mei's musings

Smells delectable and I love the almond note but I get only about 2 hours longevity with this and moderate silage. I think I will be better off with the dossier dupe...

cynnerg67

I saved myself $235 by grabbing a tester of TF and a bottle of the Finery dupe for comparison. $30 well spent...? (The Kayali didn't even come close to the TF so not sure why it's mentioned beyond the cherry note.) In the bottles both have rich cherry notes (although the TF is more prominent), but the initial dry downs (virtually indistinguishable, mind you) on first sampling were cloying sickly sweet sugar powders devoid of cherry. I'm super sensitive to the candy/sugar sprays so an hour in I'd almost scrubbed both. 2-3 hours later the TF was definitely richer with a few of those warmer notes peeking out from under a sweet plum with the faintest hint of maybe possibly imagined cherry. The Finery was a bit warmer but much much lighter plummy sweetness devoid of, you know, ANY CHERRY WHATSOEVER.
The initial TF bottle sniffs were giving me nostalgic Aveda Cherry Almond Bark vibes so second round I tested both scents with a layer of cherry almond lotion thinking it might draw something out that I'd missed. Nope. Similar results, slightly better, nothing to write home about.
I own both the discontinued TF Plum Japanois and its Alexandria dupe and both are stunning. The TF balances the sweet plum with gorgeous complex boozy notes while the Alexandra plays more with the warm amber, but both bring the plum forward in a way that's just...perfect.
I had such high hopes for this and am frustrated that it falls so short. Even on clothes the notes were a sugary mess.
Scents at this price point should be giving adult dimensions and this feels like a newbie frag for teens with a spare $265 to blow on perfume. It's lazy.
I looooove the idea of it though. Oof. Too bad.

Peeta Smellark

Works well as a weapon. if you are spraying something into the eyes of your enemies it might as well smell good

Mochachoca

smells so yummy, longevity is mid

Melanie__Jenn

odeur_mon_dieu

I love, love, love this scent. It’s my absolute favourite. I get a lot of compliments from people who also say while it smells nice, they can’t identify what it is. When I tell them to think of smoky cherry, they get it. This is one of those fragrances that, given its scent profile, could easily go car air freshener, but it doesn’t at all. It’s such a nice balance of sweet and smoke.

vanilla_anise

Someone said embalming fluid and I stopped wearing as it makes me gag. Smoking Rouge by BDK or even the cherry smoke by TF is my go to now.

beautywizard

This makes me feel like I'm a 1960's Outlaw Girl running away from the cops in a vintage convertible with a bag full of cash in the passenger seat.

Heartbroken and with tears in my eyes because my lover had anothers red cheap lipstick on his white collar.

"If you're going to cheat on me honey at least make sure that her lipstick is worth more than our lost love"

BrokenSniffer

So...let me start off by saying that I sampled Kayali Lovefest (Burning Cherry) and the ONLY thing that I liked about that scent was the opening note of cherry it had. After it settled I couldn't stand it on my skin. It was really deep and stung my nose and eyes. I like way sweeter scents and it was just too spicy for my liking.

That being said, I saw a lot of people saying that Tom Ford was a better cherry option so I decided to give it a try. I am ECSTATIC that I did! I adore the opening cherry notes of this fragrance. It smells like someone has been in the kitchen simmering cherries for a compote or baking a cherry pie. Sooo good!

I put on some dry body oil since my skin was extra dry this morning (forgetting the oil had a scent). I sprayed each wrist with the Tom Ford and was literally projected into the Heavens! The body oil scent was *Cocoa Divine. I literally smelled like a warm cherry tart! I sprayed my entire sample on myself before I left home and I'm now in hour 3 of work and I still smell the warm sweet cherries. The body oil scent left after about an hour.

Definitely going to order a larger sample of this one to play with both by itself and layered. I AM LOVING THIS ONE!!!

*The body oil gel was generic Walmart Equate brand. I despise the feeling of oil on my skin but this one is "dry" and doesn't come off on my clothes/sheets.

There is something to be said for smelling like something you eat. Hélène Cixous writes in Stigmata: Escaping Texts that “...eating and being eaten belong to the terrible secret of love.” To be wanted, so completely and rapturously, that your beloved consumes you whole.

In fact, romantic cannibalism has sort of been having a moment lately. Between breakout dream-pop star Ethel Cain’s self-titled character, tragically consumed by the wretched man she adores, to memes about biting your boyfriend making the rounds on all corners of the internet — it seems worth investigating, in this particular cultural moment, why people (women, mostly) want to smell like food. There is much to be said on this subject, and much of it has already upset people. There are innocent fantasies of girlhood and unsexed affinities towards baked goods tied into what might be called the more sinister gourmand-industrial complex, and it is by no means my intention to disturb these wholesome scent preferences. That said, the ways in which sweet candy perfumes intersect with gendered politics of desirability and class are no clearer articulated than in Tom Ford’s 2018 viral cherry organza Lost Cherry.

I would love to hear an earnest argument for how a perfume quite literally named after a vulgar euphemism for a woman’s lapsed virginity is not related to misogyny. It is an obvious enough influence to have eventually become retroactively opaque in the pursuit of commodity fetish. Beauty products are made to make women more desirable to men – of course, they bear coded signs of that very desirability. I also don’t mean to suggest I am somehow above this fact of life. I use Too Faced's Better than Sex mascara because I want all-day lift, but I hear the ghost of Andrea Dworkin screaming at me in Yiddish the entire time. Suggestive beauty product naming accomplishes what the toy company Mattel cracking jokes about their profit-based value system in the Barbie movie accomplishes for Mattel profits tied to the sale of tickets for the very same movie: postmodernity is defined by critique of the product embedded into the product itself. It gives you something to think about, a connection to briefly make. Wielding the power of this sexy perfume is like the excitement of losing your virginity. But then you stop there. You don’t think about it any further. Zizek has been saying this for decades. Products no longer sell you a product, and they no longer even sell you just an idea. Products sell you an entire mindset, a politic, a worldview, and they do it in ways often in seemingly direct conflict with their values in order to earn your trust. Why would Victoria’s Secret, a lingerie company, suddenly become interested in a bare-faced simple beauty campaign. Why would Dove, a company producing deodorant and soap marketed to help people smell better, care about your self-esteem? Thankfully Tom Ford Fragrances does not try and pretend it is a feminist beauty product company – but many people who consume it still somehow mentally place it on the neck of an “empowered woman,” whatever that means in the scheme of advertising.

Tom Ford himself as a designer and businessman is hardly known for his demure marketing. At its best, the worldbuilding of Tom Ford as a house has stood for the provocative in service of understanding ourselves more honestly. Like the surprisingly modern character of Samantha from Sex and the City, you get the sense that they both are tired of not saying the quiet parts out loud. That sex is a force as constant as the sun, and even the most repressed souls yearn, desire, like all humans do: in inconvenient and obscene and incorrect ways. But quite frankly, there is a difference between revealing and challenging the coded interchanges of heterosexuality, and reproducing them wholesale. Where I think this vision falls apart is when it leaves the tight control of a single room of creatives, and more or less integrates wholly into the pre-existing market for beauty products. If Tom Ford fragrances can’t even clear an f-bomb past certain production circuits, I fear for its ability to make serious waves in the cultural politics of suggestive beauty naming, or whatever loose assembly of legacy platitudes people suggest Lost Cherry might serve to provoke. This is all to say, I have seen women do better for themselves — and I want more for us.

There are two important questions at play here. Firstly: is Lost Cherry a good perfume in its own right? And secondly, does what it represents for the culture surrounding perfume consumption bode well for the general state of creativity in fragrance? Luckily enough, the answer to both of these questions can be summarized in a single word: no.

Lost Cherry opens with a blast of bitter almonds. I’ve noticed a trend among many Tom Fords (including the equally popular masc counterpart Tobacco Vanille): the opening spray is very provocative, and the dry-down is extremely conventional. In the case of LC, the initial sour profile of the cherry note fused with the bitterness of almonds recalls cyanide, and in one case, the purported smell of decaying corpses. Into the drydown, however, the nutty profile becomes sweeter and the cherry becomes candied. There is very little evolution beyond the first fifteen minutes — once it settles, it does so for a couple of hours of diffusive aspartame fruit showboating, and then it is gone.

I can understand why people call this perfume addicting. Usually, the formula for creating this effect is the combination of something widely palatable with the traces of something extremely offensive at high doses. This was the secret to most perfume in the 20th century. Jasmine was entrancing — narcotic, even — because of the traces of urine-like indoles found within the composition. Rose became sensual with the addition of civet, the perineal gland secretion of a small mammal related to the common genet. Lost Cherry uses the rich, juicy profile of a cherry accord to hide notes of alcohol and decay on the wrists of impressionable young women.

This is not, inherently, my issue with the perfume. Rather, I find Lost Cherry does far too much to achieve far too little. The notes blend together, the careful deceits fall flat: there is a reason this perfume is perhaps the belle of the dupe economy. If its formula weren’t so generic, it wouldn’t be so easy and popular to duplicate. The second reason so few fans of this scent own a full bottle is, of course, the high price point. A 50ml bottle currently retails for $395. This brings me to my second concern: Tom Ford is not entirely responsible for the inflation of the luxury fashion markets at large, but its most popular offering does absolutely embody the particularly nefarious intersection between completely unreasonable status-based prices, products lacking in conceptual substance, and second-hand male voyeurism.

Of course, when you deal in products made and sold under the luxury market, oftentimes prices are less a reflection of the material costs of production and more a material representation of a brand’s prestige and identity. You aren’t paying for the perfume inside Lost Cherry’s bright red bottle, you’re paying for the bottle itself as an idea.

You’re paying for an individual enumeration of Tom Ford Beauty, now itself an individual enumeration of the loose collection of ideas festering within the digitized remains of a woman selling cleansing oil in mid-century New York City formerly known as The Estée Lauder Companies. I do not labor under expectations that Tom Ford will lower its prices. I do, however, wish we would stop doing their marketing for them. Lost Cherry as an idea is virtually inescapable on the internet: it is recommended, mood-boarded, and, as referenced before, most often-evangelized through the recommendation of fakes. It is the idea, and you, dear reader, can only ever reach for pale imitations. You wish you could smell like this, but of course, you shouldn’t. There are several far more sophisticated cherry-based perfumes made by independent and niche perfumers. There is nothing that Lost Cherry does that Strangers Parfumerie’s Cherry Amaretto (retailing for $ 90 USD) does not do better. And much of Lost Cherry’s allure — the seductive, red-lipped ingénue, essentially lied from an amalgamation of vamp Pinterest boards — is best enacted as a self-aware subverted performance and not a marketing strategy.

I love Lana del Rey as much as the next Tumblr-expat, but I also think what makes her music so electric is her self-aware vulnerability. She’s thinking and acting against her own best interests; she’s playing out self-destructive spirals, but fuck it, she loves him. You may think I’m asking too much of a cosmetic product, but the culture of self-described “empowerment” surrounding Lost Cherry and other fruity-sweet ultra-femme contemporaries does none of this. It is not performative, it merely performs. Something like Mugler’s Angel, widely considered the first gourmand perfume, was so glorious precisely because it was so vulgar and controversial. Some men drooled for it, but just as many loathed it. It was regarded as both chic and trashy, sexually ambiguous, alluring, and ostentatious. In my humble opinion, there are two ways to interrupt the very real modern cultural tradition of men wanting women to smell like food so they can better be consumed: either cut your dessert with something sophisticated and off-putting or dial the saccharine indulgence up to eleven. Part of me wants Lost Cherry to tone it down, and another wishes it would have gone all the way.

Where it presently stands, however, feels halfway between pruning oneself for male fantasy, and searching for something perfectly mediocre in your own right. My wish may be unreasonable, but I one day hope to see women justify spending entirely too much on sweet perfume for its own sake. Maybe this is how you feel about your decision to wear Lost Cherry, and that is perfectly fine. Wear it to your heart's content. I just hope that one day, we can decide on figureheads for the neo-gourmand fourth-wave feminist revolution that smell a little less like plastic on accident, and a little more like plastic on purpose.

im a man i use it is a 10/10 one of the best from tom ford

Sally_pita^^

Absolutely love it. Gorgeous perfume !!!
This cherry is classy, boozy, dark and sweet.. I smell all the cherry liqueur .. and yes the bitter almond hits from the first sniff. Very good quality ingredients.
Definitely unisex, for winter or fall season. More night time perfume... best for the date.
When you are wearing that classy and seductive red dress and sipping red wine.

Been looking for a good almond scent for a while and kept coming back to this one so I finally mustered up the balls to go to the Nordstrom perfume counter. One whiff of that tester card and I knew I was soon to be out $80. I told her I'd come back my next payday. I smelled the card two days later, and I was sold. It had dried down into the most delicious, warm, comforting almond. I'm nervous about the longevity based on a friend's review, but I have hope that it'll stick to my sweaters. Will update when I finally get to test on my skin.

A beautiful feminine fragrance. To me, it smells like a sour cherry compote. Very Lana Del Rey-esque. This is what girlhood is all about!

I just... LOVE this. This is the fragrance of MY life!

it was overwhelmingly cinnamony on my skin.

I didn't expect to love this fragrance so much. For me it smells exactly like Amarena Cherries, with creamy almonds a touch of booziness. It leans slightly feminine, but not so much that a man couldn't wear it. For me it's an all year fragrance, that will be specially great for cooler nights. Performance and projection are ok.

This is a beautiful and surprisingly complex scent. It’s definitely cherry forward (a realistic, sweet cherry at that), accompanied with other notes (such as vanilla and cinnamon) that give this an overall warm, fizzy, cola vibe. Definitely a scent that would turn heads, and one that leans more feminine in my view. Longevity is unfortunately quite poor though.

You ever sit around thinking to yourself: "I have too much money and I really need to smell like cherry chapstick for exactly 2 hours"? If so then this is the fragrance for you!!!!

It starts as cherry chapstick. A child's fragrance. Its like kissing my 6 year old on the head after trick or treating.

The dry down is powdery and would fit in well in an assisted living facility.

Somehow it jumps straight from toddler to grandma and skips anything remotely pleasant.

Icepeak

Half eaten cherry in an ashtray.

This is good stuff, I feel it’s definitely unisex but leaning just slightly towards a feminine scent.

I’m getting lots of cherries, some vanilla and some smokiness. 😍

It will cost you a pretty arm and a leg though.

I would describe this perfume as: That weird friend who texts at the group chat once a day and throws the phone away but you still love them cuz they're a great person. She is beautiful but you wish she was a little bit more invested in this friendship. Opens with a nice bright cherry, then darkens to a spicy cherry liquor then she gets up and leaves. Stunning perfume. If you're ready to empty a whole big bottle every month then them's the breaks kids.

This is my current favorite perfume honestly. The main notes are definitely almond and cherry, making it resemble some sort of expensive cherry amaretto. The longevity is a bit less than I hoped, especially considering the price you'd expect it to be a bit stronger. Overall stunning fragrance that I'll definitely purchase a second bottle of, but I'd only recommend it to others if you can afford it.

some people say that this perfume smells like ''Dead body''

Honestly, I really love this scent. I just can't get over the name, the price point, and the fact that it disappears on my skin so quickly. Pure, boozy dark cherry with just a hint of almond, lovely slightly spicy and balsamic drydown. There is set of 3 travel sprays of this and the two newer cherry scents, so I bought that to have the scents. I've only seen it at Nordstrom so far, but it might be available at other department stores. Tom Ford was somewhat affordable niche just about a decade ago, but now, it's crazy expensive.

babypong

beautiful bottle design. The two notes that stand out the most are almond and cherry. It has a slight medicine or candy vibe. Like most tom ford scents, I find it to be a good smell, but I don't want to put it on and wear it.

I don’t normally love this scent profile like cherry, liquor/boozy and almond/nutty but this is done so perfectly. I don’t get too much of the almond but it’s a warm rich cherry vanilla liquor scent. Perfect for late fall and winter ❄️ 😍

krisscent

Smells like royalty. It’s rich and loud yet classy, although opening is quite medicinal, the dry down takes a warm and sensual turn and really puts the fragrance together! Masterfully blended, long lasting and leaves and intoxicating scent trail. My signature scent for sure

First 20 sec smelled like Chloraseptic Cherry throat spray. That medicinal cherry cough syrup scent. I was so happy I was not going to fall in love and go broke! but then....

Talk about weapon of Mass seduction! when the cough syrup scent faded I almost wept when the scent from my wrist wafted upwards. Absolutely gorgeous. Tart cherry fruits and liquor with sugary almonds which later gives way to Rose, Sampaguita (sambac) and creamy vanilla. All my favorite notes so well blended. This is what I hoped Rolling in Love would smell like. I am splurging on a full bottle and will wear this for every special occasion until the end of February. (Halloween parties, weddings, Christmas, New Year, Valentines and date nights).

It imitates the smell of a cherry very well, but I just don't find it to be very pleasant. As missingbonnet stated, "so sweet it might as well be rotten"
Sums it up pretty well. Definitely not a bad scent, just not personally my cup of tea.

missingbonnet

First whiff gives me an image of fermented cherries. So sweet it might as well be rotten. I like it but it might be even better layered with something else.
